Dreadful service. Had our food which was nice enough but our daughter was waiting 35 minutes for hers.. after being told hers was an extra 10 minute wait. I followed this up as we had finished/ table cleared ages ago to then be told they can't make her food... no apology, bit of attitude. When I then asked for a refund at the till we were told we weren't charged for it. Requested to see the receipt and there it was. Waiters didn't seem to know really whether they were coming or going. All a bit of a shambles.

Nice location and good food. Very attentive service from the team including Jack who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning the next time we are in Folkestone.

The chicken broth was so good!! The staff were on point and a great place to eat. Highly recommend!! Will be going back.

burger is just ok, fried Tofu not recommended, but recommend for a place to have rest.

Lovely meal at Market Square with friends on a Saturday night. Food was delicious, couldn’t fault it. Easily the best meal out I have had in a long time. Jack’s service was second to none, attentive, entertaining and great people skills. Will definitely be returning and spreading the word!

Love the decor in this cafe. Food is decent and they do nice smoothies and juices. Service was slow when we visited which wasn't ideal, but still enjoyed the place and would be back.

I love this place so much I always take my visitors here. I've been for breakfast and lunch and everytime the food is lovely and fresh.

JACK in Market Square is outstanding !!

Has recently reopened for the evenings. Food not what it used to be unfortunately. Had a burger which was very dry and chicken satay which again was dry. Bao buns were nice though. Also the music was so loud I could barely hear the person sitting next to me. Used to be one of the best places to eat out. Service really good however.

Jack has been very attentive and friendly. Greeting on arrival, making sure everything was ok and great service provided! Great food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try the evening menu. Thank you Jack

As always, amazing food and amazing service. We came in the evening as a party of 6, with two young children. Staff are so accommodating and really go above and beyond. Food is fresh and delicious. One of my favourite restaurants in Folkestone. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

My family and I came here to celebrate Mothering Sunday, and were treated to the most lovely time. The vibe here is comfy and cozy, but with plenty of seating, and the coffee was fantastic. Staff here are super kind and attentive - Jack in particular was really warm and welcoming, and made sure we were all well attended to: he even brought over a complimentary Mother’s Day mimosa for my lovely mum! Made it a really special day and we’re so grateful for the lovey time :)

Really nice place in the centre of Folkestone. Great space, nice atmosphere and great staff. I enjoyed my coffee break very much.

We visited here today with our dog who can be a bit of a pain in a restaurant setting. We explained this to the staff who were fabulous and arranged for us to sit in a quiet area away from other dogs and even opened up a side door so didn’t have to walk through the restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast and the staff were chatty and friendly, both to us and our pup. Their actions meant we could enjoy our meal without worry and our dog was calm and happy. Great food and friendly staff who went above and beyond. 10/10

As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by Jack who made sure out evening was amazing. Such a lovely person who gave great recommendations in the duck gyoza and a dipping sauce for my fries! He went out of his way to make us feel relaxed and allowed us to have a great evening. Steph was also really helpful, checking in throughout the evening making sure we had everything we need. Would highly recommend going to Market square for their new Asian inspired evening menu, especially the chicken satay and the halloumi and ham burger! Market square are so lucky to have amazing staff like Jack and Steph!

Market Square is THE place I bring my friends to when they travel from London, NY, NZ all over the globe, I always take them to Market Square! Staff are beyond friendly and accommodating with all requests. Big shout out to Josh who helped me create the perfect atmosphere for meeting my girlfriend’s parents for the first time 😅 great guy! We came here today for pancake day with our little ones and it did not disappoint! Fantastic friendly service from start to finish. We had breakfast and our little ones enjoyed the free pancake deal which they devoured. All was delicious. We haven’t felt this relaxed and welcomed in a restaurant for a long time, so this experience was definitely worthy of a review. Josh played a massive part in making us feel this way, so helpful and friendly and went the extra mile without hesitation.

My kids and I are semi regulars at market square and the staff are great, Connah and Jessie are particularly lovely and always make the kids feel welcome. The menu options are varied and the kids meals are very reasonable, especially for the size and quality of food. The lighting, temperature, and volume of music always match the vibe outside which is rare to find in Folkestone.

Always my first choice for catch up lunch with friends. Super vibe, amazing menu and food always delicious. Friendly hard working cheerful staff. Josh looked after us today and was super helpful, courteous and cheerful

Fab brunch in Folkestone- Chef Maia’s weekly specials- had the chocolate chip pancakes they were so delicious and soft you can’t tell that they are gluten free! The walnut and banana pancakes that my brother had were also so delicious! 10/10 recommend!

I regularly come here and it is always fabulous. The food is gorgeous (the halloumi fries are to die for!), the ambience is lovely and the restaurant is really clean. Service is very friendly - Jack and Maia were particularly fab today and Connah knows what I want, coffee wise, before I sit down. The menu is fresh and delicious - the chefs are awesome. Everything I and my friends and family have tried has been wonderful. It is a pleasure to come here.

Normally have breakfast here and they cater for dietary issues but today we had lunch. This was slightly more tricky to make glutenfree and dairyfree but the staff and chef went above and beyond to make me something that was delicious and tasty. serving staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a visit.

Served by Josh in Folkestone branch. Popped in for simple coffee and cake and was wowed not only by the quality of food and drink but by his level of service. Care and attention paid to each and every customer. An asset to Market Square.

Visited once again on Saturday and for the first time, we were here for the lunchtime menu. I can safely say, the Beef Noodles and Chicken Satay and Rice were fantastic. From the first bite to the last scrape of the bowl with my folk, it was absolutely fantastic! Service from Jack and the rest of his team was out of this world! I had one of the best and kindest experiences in Market Square today. My fussy eater 3 year old insisted on ordering chicken curry because he likes the one I make at home. But when it came out it obviously looked a lot fancier and nicer than the one I make at home, so he absolutely refused to try it. Jack the manager saw the interaction and without us knowing had gone and got him some chicken and chips instead! He bought it over and honestly made my day, my son ate way more than he normally would and even went back and tried the curry with some encouragement from us and Jack! Honestly a life saver. The food was delish too, Maia the chef really was amazing and we always come back when we're in Folkestone. I had the beef noodles and they were so flavourful and yummy. Thank you so much again for making a tired toddler mums day!

So my partner and I have visited many times now. The service is always great. A really friendly bunch providing a high level service but in a relaxed and chilled out manner, especially Jack who’s service and customer interaction we can’t rate enough always smiling, looking to help and even know we barely know him, it feels like we are friends when we arrive! The food is always 200% on point regardless of what dish you have and is always cooked to perfection. Be sure to give them a visit!

Had a full English breakfast, generous portions served with their in house sausage ( pleasantly seasoned and non greasy) + the bean medley. Service was second to none- Jack with his exceptional customer care service made our breakfast a memorable experience. The decor and background music made a relaxed dining setting. Will be back and definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful breakfast between Christmas and New Year. Sausages were fab. Not overpriced. Nice atmosphere with music just at the right volume. Jack made all the difference... Ended up having second cup of latte. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family

We stopped by for a drink and pancakes for breakfast. The drinks were stunning, I had on of their fresh juices, it was absolutely lovely, the flavours were fabulous, my partner had a mocha he seemed rather satisfied. Then a big pancake DISASTER! No more vegan pancakes despite the menu stating they were still being sold 💔 such a shame as we were both so excited for them with us both being lactose intolerant, so our bellies were quite disappointed. Despite us mainly coming to the place for the pancakes, we still had a lovely time there with our drinks with the interiors being spectacular, so thank you so much.

Came here for breakfast with my hubby. Wow. Awesome breakfast, warm plate, which you rarely get these days, generous portion and the most perfect flavours and cooked to perfection 👌🏻 Compliments to chef 😊 and we had the best service from Northern Jack! As a fellow northerner it was a joy to chat and be served by him. Great experience we will definitely be coming again.

Been three time now and consistently a truly fantastic brunch spot! Plenty of savoury and sweet, healthy (salad and grain bowls) or indulgent (pancakes, cooked breakfast) options … plenty of veggie and vegan options, really good flat white coffee, great fresh juice blends - never disappointed! Love the decor and design, beautiful crockery. Staff have always been super friendly, polite and helpful… defo coming more often! Recommend!

We’ve had breakfast here about 5 or 6 times and it’s been excellent every time.

Was given cow milk instead of oat even though the server repeated the order back to me and also inssted it was oat milk when they brough the drinks. It made me really sick but the server was rude and told me i didnt order oat milk and it was my fault. I will not be returning.

If I could pick this place up and transport it wherever I went. Then I would. The quality of food is excellent, attentive service and great value for money. Large selection of veggie and vegan dishes. - Update as of August 2023. We came back here a few weeks ago given our excellent experience the first time. It was such a shame that we left let down. The self service obviously does have its issues as the front of house staff take no responsibility for lateness of food (no one asked to check on our order). We waited about 45 mins for our salads and we were close to walking out. The food was annoyingly good and up to its usual standard but we did leave with a bit of a bitter taste in our mouths.

The place is open, clean and dog friendly so I was ready to love it especially when I heard the food was locally sourced, however I had an unlucky experience. I ordered a breakfast smoothy and avocado and poached eggs on toast. The waiter asked me to remind him of what my drink was straight away, which of course I didn't mind, but then I waited at least 30 minutes for my toast and when my partner said " is there a reason why toast is taking so long?" They brought toast and butter only and asked if that was what we wanted... I don't even think that was an option in the menu. I had to remind them of my order again and was told there were no eggs. Surprising for a breakfast place. Don't get me wrong my boyfriend has run a restaurant before I know the pressures and how hard it is so we remained cordial and they offered us salmon on toast instead, this after 40 minutes of waiting... The food was good enough but unfortunately the experience did not feel hospitable and the staff just don't communicate... It wasn't busy either. I don't think we will be back.

An absolute gem of a place - splendid food, coffees, and atmosphere. Perfect for lunch, breakfast and meet-ups. Service is impeccable - Jack, the manager, made me feel warmly welcome. I live in Folkestone, and this will be one of my regular spots.

SENT FOOD BACK INEDIBLE We went to this place because it said vegan options. There was a few options and we got a Buddha bowl and the tofu noodle soup thing. The first issue was a 45 minute delay in food coming out as they were down the main chef, then when the food arrives, the Buddha bowl had a dried up wedge of lime, some burnt what looked like onion baiji and some old vegetables. As for my dish I had the tofu noodle broth which did say a soy flavour but the flavour of this soup was just pure salt, this is coming from someone who doesn’t mind salty dishes unfortunately this was horrific. So we had to send both dishes back and ask for a refund as the food was inedible. I would like to say for someone who doesn’t taste or look at their own dishes it must be hard to know if they actually are edible as a chef. The only thing I can say that’s positive is the waiting staff were incredibly polite and understanding, we did feel bad for them having to serve bad food. Won’t be going back, would not recommend.

Really good vegan options here, friendly staff too. We had a vegan buddha bowl and a vegan burger, both were fresh & delicious! Only discrepancy was that the straps on the baby's high chair were broken and there wasn't another one available at the time to swap with. Not very safe...I hope they replace this immediately.

Finally, an excellent breakfast in Kent that includes vegetables other than tomatoes. Thank you!

Chilled atmosphere, solid food and friendly service. I ordered the Buddha Bowl and it was good: crispy and warm beetroot bhajis, smooth chili hummus, edamame and grilled pak choi. A pity, that the roasted red peppers and the tomato chutney were missing. They would have giving the sweetness and tanginess the dish lacked. The restaurant interior is chic yet cozy and inviting. The dark warm wood tones are pair with black and pops of vibrant colors. The plants that are located throughout the restaurant make it feel homey. The guest take a menu from the bar, seat themselves wherever they like and order at the bar. The food and drinks are delivered to the table. The prices are fair for the fresh, good quality ingredients, and the service was friendly.

Amazing! My friend and I came for lunch. I ordered the Buddha Bowl which was delicious, highly reccomend. Our food was brought out quickly. I also ordered a Green Power smoothie which was perfect. The staff were very nice and friendly.

The brilliant hands on service i received from connor and amy was outstanding couldnt be more helpful more than happy to help any given point so polite and professional , the kitchen staff was so friendly too but the best thing above all was the food outstanding 10/10 i 100% recommend the peanut pancakes. If u have to eat at one place in folkstone it has to be here !

Market Square is a regular choice of ours for breakfast, it's always a safe bet. The fry ups are all great, the veggie vegan, and meat options are all worth trying. The place is nicely decorated inside and the staff are always friendly. The coffee is pretty good too, you could do a whole lot worse without walking very far There're even a great shop downstairs for high quality produce Thr best thing about Market Square by far though, is that they're actually open when you want to go and grab some food.

Mango tea was lovely what wasn't spilt on the table , chicken broth arrived with only chopsticks (no spoon) and half a pak choi and in cut chicken ruined an extremely tasty broth overall won't be coming back

Nice place for lunch, food is varied, tasty and fresh. The place itself is large but comfortable, if a little chilly. Service was efficient is a little perfunctory.

Wierd place and system. Just wasted 30 minutes sitting down, looking over menu, queuing to order and THEN being told they weren't taking any food orders for the next 30 minutes. Various members of staff walked past us and failed to mention that they were only serving drinks. They shouldn't provide so many seats if they are not set up to serve that number of people in my humble opinion . They only had a single female toilet (that had no soap). Food looked good however. 4/10 For various obvious reasons I am unable to recommend this place

I like this place, consistent, great coffee, usually space, apart of the weekend - of course. I ordered pancakes 🥞 and I wasn't disappointed. Order it when you truly hungry!

Great spot, have had breakfast and lunch. Both were lovely, with good flavours and fresh ingredients. Plenty of vegan options, but inconsistent with the labelling. Staff were friendly and helpful. The market downstairs is filled with local treats and fresh bread.

I love visiting Market Square. The pancakes are delicious, the staff are great. It was super noisy when I was there, so bare that in mind but that wasn't a problem.
