Great little pub. Service was great and good selection of beers.

Don’t bother going hardly open . No food had no chef for a long time. When they had a chef he was terrible. Put bangers and mash and a full English breakfast on the same plate. It was 2 separate orders. . Hopefully the brewery will step in soon and out them . Used to a brilliant pub . They actually close now when the horse racing is on .

If you like spicy, here they have that flavor that you don't find in other places. very good sauce

Dog friendly sports bar with live 20twenty cricket on but no food when we visited early on a weekday evening. Poor acoustics made this bar hard to hold a conversation in without shouting despite it not being particularly busy.

6 of us got together for lunch and picked The Greyhound at Lingfield and I’m so glad we did. I understand that it has not been that long since the tenancy / ownership change and they’ve done a good job. A good drink selection, including wine and nice ale but crucially for us a great lunch including rather unexpectedly, a great Lebanese menu which we all enjoyed. I should mention that we were looked after by Julie who was charming, patient and very hard working. Highly recommended. We will return.

Went there for a late breakfast on Sunday - fantastic food and very friendly and helpful staff. The new management are definitely a step up.

I went to The Greyhound with a group of 4 family members & my brother's girlfriend (6 of us in all) for lunch @ around midday. Despite the inside being in the process of redecoration for the new owners, our group was given a very warm & friendly welcome by the staff & by the other customers already in the pub. We had no problems finding a table & our drinks / food were delivered to us with friendly smiles (thanks Grace). The food menu was good & the quality of the food was excellent coupled with a wide range of drinks including apple juice for my mum & guinness for my brother. All 6 of us received our meals within a couple of minutes of the 1st one arriving (we had 4 Full English breakfasts & 2 gammon, eggs & chips), none of which lasted very long on the plates! Our compliments to the chef. The pub also has a fair amount of outside seating as well. In summary, it's fair to say we had a great time at The Greyhound - great food, great people, great prices...I'd fully recommend giving it a visit!

It is going through a refurb at the moment so it feels a bit basic inside. Seems a nice place though. Has a couple of ales on tap.

Choice of three roasts, chicken, Beef and pork. Two chicken and one pork ordered. A deal was on buy one get 2nd for a pound! As only 3 of us we asked if we could take another home which we did! All were fantastic! Cooked perfectly plenty of it and £15.00 for two on the deal wow. Great start for the new management team. We will be back soon

The new chef, Mark, is a fantastic chef. Best food iv had for a long time. Full of flavour and perfectly cooked, I highly recommend the food here it's absolutely 10/10 he takes pride in his craft.

No food served, but happy for food to be brought in. Pool table. No IPA, and about a 10 minute wait to find that out. Locals seem to get preference when being served, or just spoken to, but all in all an OK pub for a quick drink

Not the best boozer…..but good for the nags and footy!

Very friendly and welcomed a group of 10 Staff were really attentive while we enjoyed a couple of drinks. Children of our group enjoyed the play area

Really great beer. You really must eat here but bring your appetite. The young lady behind the bar was cheerful and helpful and made the day.

Was incredibly disappointed with the service provided today. Food all turned up at different times, including one meal where my dad had to wait around 30 minutes to get his food after we had all eaten. The eggs with the breakfast were not cooked and sausages were still pink inside. Cheese missing from the burger and bread missing from the curry. The pub at this point was almost empty. However, my dad received the money back for his meal and his meal only.

went in for one drink and told no more drinks, was only going in for a quick one on way home. was around 20 -39 toher customers in there drinking but I guess only known people are allowed to drink! absolute joke ! don't bother attending have lived in the village for years and also attempted to have a Jon here but staff are sp rude unless they know you on a personal level ! don't bother

Popped into this pub for a drink and sat in the garden. Very disappointed to see dirty seats and cigarette butts all over the floor! Staff are friendly enough but this place needs a good clean! This pub could be so much nicer with a bit of TLC, including cleaning the windows and maybe a few flowers in the window boxes!

Stumbled upon this as I had a hospital appt nearby. Felt welcomed straight away by the lovely Kerri. Food was tasty and great prices, and the service was really good. A good little find for us :)

Barman named Dangerous is rude and a total idiot might be alright when he is not working?! , barmaid seemed alright tbh, actually felt sorry for her having to work with him. Much more polite and better customer service at The Star ⭐️ where we went afterwards 👍

Great pub just up the road from Lingfield Racecourse. Kevin and the team looked after us very well and I would highly recommend a visit here.

Friendly atmosphere, I think i made 2 new friends today! Great old school pub vibe. The next time I go to the races il definitely pop in for a celebratory/commiserations drink or two.

Been going here to the last bastion on proper pubs for the last 6 years. Today stopped for a pint and a bite in the sun. Went for the jacket spud with chilli. Mad size portion. Couldn't Finnish it. Fantastic thou' as is the lovely super friendly girl who served me.

Great hospitality, super staff. Super safe coronavirus social distancing measures An abundance of staff all delivering table service, while still creating an excellent atmosphere. They have clearly made so much effort to make everybody feel safe and providing so many extra staff.

Always go to this pub for breakfast when we go racing which has always been really good. I don't know whats happened but it was not the usual high standard. It was smaller, not very hot and the sausages were like bricks. The staff are very friendly and it might have been an off day. Will still return and hopefully be back to its best.

A proper pub! Top staff, great Landlord, lovely bunch of locals. Well worth popping in for the swift one.

Big car park. Good selection real ales. Big screens.. sports. Darts and pool. Did not try the food but good friendly ambience. Blokish place though.

My walking group often come here for lunch when our walk has been cancelled. The welcome is good and the food is excellent value for money, especially the pensioner special - two courses for £6.50. Also a good selection of beers, all resonably priced.

My wife and I visited for the £6.50 two course pensioners meal. I was served a pint of beer which was very cloudy so that I had to have changed. The pub was very cold, with no radiators on - on a cold February day. We have visited before and on those occasions the food had been quite good and very good value. Today hoever my fish and chips was lukewarm and my wife's meat pie looked as if it had been reheated more than once. The other problem from our viewpoint was the constant loud pop music playing which I don't think many pensioners would have enjoyed!

Great local pub. Food is pub grub value for money, Atmosphere is always good great when live music is on.

This pub is the best in Lingfield........ And the surrounding area

Visited for the first time for a birthday lunch with my husband and 2 sons in August. Had a nice meal, staff were pleasant but was very disappointed to receive a PCN in the post afterwards for not inputting our vehicle registration on entering the premises. Bearing in mind this was our first visit and not regulars, we were not aware of this requirement and neither the bar staff or restaurant staff made us aware of this. I contacted the pub after receiving this fine to be told there are numerous signs around the car park (but neither myself nor my husband saw them) and to contact the company the charge had come from. Which I did with proof of 2 bank transactions that we had eaten here and ordered drinks, to today receive notification that my appeal is unsuccessful and I now have to pay the full amount of £100!!! Really not happy. A lovely meal has been tainted. I will not return to this pub again, other pubs that I have been into that have this system in place, 3 different Toby Carvery’s make you aware your need to INPUT YOUR VEHICLE REGISTRATION TO PARK IN THEIR CAR PARK. Really disappointed. I hope this helps someone from not receiving another PCN fromthis establishment.

Stopped here for lunch on my way through the village. Not a other soul in sight. The only good thing about this place was the friendly service from the young lady behind the bar. I ordered from the specials board, quiche and baby potatoes. What arrived was very soggy pastry, barely warm and unpleasant quiche filling, a limp old salad and chips. When I asked what had happened to the potatoes I was told the chef had forgotten they were part of the dish. I opted to keep the chips as I needed to carry on with my trip. It turned out that the chips were the only edible thing about the meal. When I provided feedback on my meal, I was told that this would be conveyed to the chef. I had already paid prior to the meal and there was no suggestion of a courtesy partial refund at all. This is a place that seriously needs to up its game.

The big ol breakfast is great value I love my food and I cannot finish it! Service with a smile from Sue. Always comes on a hot plate which is a simple thing but important to keep the food hot. Opens at 9am

Good beer garden and good atmosphere, however, the (one) ladies loo looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a year. Apart from the grubby loo area it was a good pub.

Had a reasonably nice full English breakfast here for £6. The price is great compared to The Marriott hotel where we stayed and would have paid £16 for the same. I'd have it again.

Good old fashioned pub with good staff

Driving past and pulled in for a quick lunch with 3 young kids. Food was good, nice area to sit out side, and a little playground as well is an added bonus. Lady behind the bar friendly too. All in, exactly what we were after. Thanks.

Had lunch good value for money cheapest drinks in the area staff was friendly too plenty of car park spaces and there was two gardens one with kids area and the other was nice and peaceful

Friendly staff good atmosphere with a lovely beer garden which is good for kids, so a good all round family pub.

I have been visiting The Greyhound now probably around 5 years now around 1 visit every month on average. It has come a long way during this period now providing great food at a great price and a fantastic selection of new drinks. It has also made great use of the garden area keeping with the Lingfield racecourse theme and providing fantastic seating with multiple TV screens making it perfect for match days or when any sports are showing which is great for all the family.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Eastbourne from Hertfordshire with my mum and my sister. Had the Seniors lunch; two courses for £6! Mum and I had the pie of the day, which was gorgeous steak and kidney, absolutely full of filling, with fresh veg, and potatoes. My sister had scampi and chips, which was also very nice. For dessert we asked for 3 Eton Mess, but there was only one left, so mum had it, and my sister and I had strawberry cheesecake which was a a little disappointing, as the cheesecake texture and taste were more like blancmange, but for £6, it was amazing value. We will visit again on this journey.

In the centre of Lingfield this traditional pub was surprisingly great value and made for a very pleasant lunch experience. 5 senior citizens each paid £6 for 2 reasonably sized courses. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. The decor is looking a little tired but has a sporting theme and will no doubt be even more popular with the upcoming World Cup.

Had this venue recommended to us by a local resident. Arrived just before 14.00 and ordered lunch. Both of our separate orders arrived freshly cooked, well presented and tasting great. My cod and chips not only came with peas but also a small salad which was not expected but was a very pleasant surprise. My companion had a pizza. The apple strudel I had for desert was heavenly. The meals and drinks were reasonably priced and the lady behind the bar who took our order and served us was both friendly and polite. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue to others.

Can get very busy! But breakfasts are always lovely and very well priced. All staff very lovely and polite. Highly recommend

Owner refused service for no apparent reason im of ethnic origin and can only imagine this is the reason.

Good bar. Car be very busy and noisy especially when sport on tv. Big screens. Outdoor seating all with screens. Wifi. Often live singers, all excellent. Food very good. Good lively bar. Nice staff.

What an awful pub, we went today and it's cold, no heating on, the ladies toilet could do with a deep clean and some heat but mostly, despite the huge blaring television it has no soul, the staff are sombre and the customers are few, and a premiership match is playing on sky at full volume, with the few people there not watching, dreadful, this pub needs some life putting back into it. I would start by serving Gin in a clean and decent sized glass and the tonic water was the smallest bottle I've ever seen. Whilst there a couple came in with there baby and walked out again .

Tesco value scampi and quarter-pounder with frozen peas and chips. Edible but not nice in any way. Heinz ketchup bottle filled up with cheap watery tomato sauce. A poor meal, too expensive for what it was.

A great locals pub, the staff know their regulars by name and what you drink, often waiting for you on the bar before you have even sat down. Good simple food done very well. The breakfasts are the best in the village.
