A very impressive set up at the restaurant and excellent customer service. I’d like to single out Edwin for his highly professional and friendly manner. Harry also deserves to be mentioned for his exceptional customer service.

Fish & Chips delicious as usual. Didn’t get his name unfortunately but the gentleman from Kenya had excellent customer service, super friendly and efficient!

Went for the lunchtime special mini hake n chips the mushy peas were nice only negative was it said it comes with bread n butter I got a bread roll 🤷‍♂️

Disappointed. The other day service was shocking. The person on the till was more worried about making money than customer service or food. Chef was working hard. I went in at 18:00. Slightly busy nothing too bad. I understand we had to wait as they were cooking some food from fresh. Fresh chips came out. Then it started to go down hill from here. About 4 groups of people waiting. This family walked in took 4/5 large boxes of fresh chips they were served straight away don’t worry the group of 4 were still waiting. Taking all the fresh chips we’re waiting for. Then this other customer walked in got her order within 5min. As we are still awaiting. I noticed my order was cooked sitting under the heat lamp. Then they started to serve us group of 4 and new customers coming in. After sometime another customer had to ask if he can have his order as he had to pick up his kids. He was 2nd customer behind me. I had to go to work. They served another two customers before I had to asked them can I have my order. I got a half an apology then while at this time he continued to take more orders. I walked out because they seem not to care! They served my wife after 35 minutes of my order going in. I had to drop my wife back off home and leave straight away to go to work. I couldn’t even have dinner before work. So my dinner was wasted! Absolutely disgusting. Is this how you serve your community take money. No priority on who first. Weird thing is they had a ticket holder so they know who order is next and still messed it up. The just eat order and it ridiculous announcement went off they ran to it like it’s an order from the King of England! We are your customers who took the time to support local business and you treat us like that you won’t last long in town. I got better service on Ryan Air flight.

Had a fantastic meal, you can tell that the oil is lovely and fresh. It makes such a difference. This is by far the best fish and chips Iv had in a long time. The prices were reasonable for the portion size and staff were friendly. I will definitely be using Harbourfields from now on.

I spent £33 on 2 fish and chips , the fish was nice but thd chips were warm and they must of been reheated from early they were horrible

Absolutely disgusted. £40 worth of food for portions not to even be big enough for a child. Manager hid out back as he didn't want to deal with the issue himself, was told 'it's what they ordered' to the young man dealing with refund. The young man was very professional and handled the situation efficiently and issued refund, unlike his manager. If you're going to be a manager be prepared for confrontation and know how to handle it instead of hiding behind a chip fryer. Bring deep blue back where the portions were worth the money and the customer service also came with it. I don't recommend this place or any food as the portions are tiny and over priced.

Dined in the restaurant after a long walk. Was very quiet for a Saturday night. Took around 5 minutes for any member of staff to greet us in the restaurant. My partner and I shared a large cod and chips, battered sausage and we were recommended the gherkin fritters. Food was nice and good portion size. Staff were friendly but as the restaurant wasn’t very busy they weren’t very attentive. Prices were average. Would go back if I was wanting a quick dinner in the area but nothing special.

Food was awful small fish looked like a tiny sprat in batter. Not at all good value for All food returned asked for refund manager said no that’s what they ordered fish done by weight . Didn’t accept this as portion not even fit for child’s portion eventually got a refund. Would not recommend this place at all

Regular cod Very little grey fish , batter soggy Made my views and complaint clear. Nobody spoke to me or adjusted the bill. Or offered a freshly cooked cod. I live in oxted and will never use them again. Paul B

Have tried to give this chippy several extra chances, but genuinely can't order from here any more. The chips are just so awful, dry, hard and stale.

Didn't really want to write this review but after some thought i decided to. We have used this place for many years and when it changed hands we still wanted to continue to give it our custom. However after our experience on the 24th December we have decided against it. We arrived to and entered the shop as we understood the restaurant was closed and we understood as it was Christmas eve. there were a few people Infront of us so we waited until the young man asked if he could help we gave him our order and he lent towards us and said sorry no food left and that they were only doing collections. We found if a little confusing as we had called ahead to see what time they closed and when we arrived well within time they were still serving. we do not live local and make the effort to drive down to oxted from were we live and having fish and chips on Christmas eve is part of our family custom. whilst we do understand that this may have been a busy time why when we called ahead we wasn't told that we had to preorder. i once a week fish and chips will not make a difference to there finances but we are very disappointed and never had such experiences with the old owners.

This was our go to place for fish and chips when it was deep blue,however since it has become Harberfield,we have found quality of the food has declined and the prices have increased. I think I will have to look for another dine in fish restaurant

Really poor experience. Bad service - they managed to get our order wrong - and the food was not good - old, cold chips. Will never waste my money there again.

This place seems to be relying on the menu and ratings of the old owners (Deep Blue) as it's only been Harbourfields a few months. Prices seem to vary day to day (not just my personal experience) so its difficult to say if it represents good value for money, they certainly don't represent what the menu says (probably because it's the old Deep Blue menu). Eaten there 2 or 3 times and today's meal has left me feeling rougher than a bucket of gravel. Overall , thought this place might improve with the change of ownership but seems to be around the same of maybe got a little worse .

Bring back deep blue just had the worse cod bites I’ve ever tasted 😫😫😫 , chips was alright but nah not for me 🤦‍♀️

Just had Chicken and Mushroom pie and Chips with Curry sauce, being 57 I’ve eaten some pie and chips in my time but I have to say these are probably the best pie and chips I’ve had in years, fresh, hot superb, highly recommended 👍

Used to be regulars at deep Blue and the food was Alway great! Now you get smaller portions, soggy half cooked chips, no salt and vinegar on them, Cod was full of bones, cold savaloy and battered sausages which taste like they have switched to cheaper ones. Won't go back again

Its a chip shop. I dont go here for a night out. The food is average. Service is poor considering my only interaction is making the order.

There was a time that in exchange for not being fussy about what fish you got or it's shape, that you could get really good value by accepting the bits that broke off as 'fish bits'. But the ones I had were just altogether 'not much'. Proper fish bits aren't supposed to be 'worse' value than other options in 'every' respect. If you can't do value fish bits take them off the menu at that time, or price for what you've got. The salt and pepper squid was just truly awful value. Six sad 'tiny' bits of 'popcorn' squid. Less than popcorn infact. No pepper. The salt was either absent or just table rubbish they sprinkle on the chips. Fish soaked in fat with one (which is not) a choice of topping (batter) needs to offer something because it's certainly not flavour, texture, or healthy living (unless the rest of your diet is nuggets and coke and this constitutes balance) Maybe the other regular fish items are better. But it doesn't seem like there should be to much for them to quality control. Service is good by English standards. Actually no the service was terrible because it took 'ages'. Clearly because I'm not as important as the bike couriers. Ah things considered after waiting so long, it should have been 'crisp' and hot. It was warm and... not crisp anyway.

Since it's changed to Harbourfields the portions have got smaller, and I don't feel the quality is as good as it was before hand.

O dear. New Name or completely different Now? Not Deep Blue any longer? Sad because They're Battered Sausage s when Deep Blue were The better ones around

Food arrived 22 minutes late. Turned up with no salt and vinegar on any of the food, even though this options was selected.

Up until a couple of months ago the fish and chips used to be wonderful here, the last two takeaways have been awful. Just returned home with a takeaway and the chips were soggy, the plaice was awful, Rick hard batter and dry rubbery fish. Such a shame We used to use Derp Blue regularly…. Won’t be going back again

Ordered large fish and chips and fish was like a kids fish! Size was tiny, ridiculous for the price!! Chips were like a regular too.

We have been to this fish and chips shop for the last few years and it has always been a good bet for good fish and chips in a area which is sadly lacking them. Arrived there and saw that the premises were under new management, which should have been a warning... Sadly, we went today and it was... Just disappointing! We ordered a Seniors Special Medium Cod and chips and a Large Haddock and Chips. When we got it, the chips were overcooked and like cardboard (to be able to eat them you needed to douse them in tons of vinegar). The cod and haddock both tasted like they were either cooked from frozen (a cardinal sin for any chippy worth it's salt) or just wasn't fresh, tasting fishy and both were smaller than when we've had them there before (at least a quarter of the size). The batter was flabby and oily. The tarter sauce, which came with the fish, just tasted of lemon juice when it should have a decent kick of Gherkins and capers. Real shame, but we won't be back any time soon.

Gave my order and waited and waited, went up to counter to ask where it was for them all to fluster and start blaming each other for someone in the kitchen to say that my order had gone on a delivery order, in the meantime one of the guys that works there is biggjng up the new company Northfields from Tunbridge Wells that now runs it and that it so much better because Deep Blue used the cheapest ingredients blah blah blah well I finally got my order home to find it was a. wrong and b. not at all tasty, it was cold, undercooked batter, undercooked chips and I’m now £50 poorer, never will we order again

Paid £19.16 for 2 portions of the most awful food! Chips were tough, stale and tasted funny. Never again!

I am absolutely disgusted with the food & the service. Having to wait 30 minutes for 2 pie’s ( which were already cooked) To then get all the way back to Warlingham! …. Clearly this was not my local. To find 28 chips & a pie that was that was so dry I had to just bin it. I do not recommend this restaurant nor will I EVER waste my money in there ever again. Shame on you!!!!!

The fish and chips were lovely , crisp fresh batter, soft fluffy chips on the inside with a nice crisp edge, all the staff were very kind and helpful. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend to anyone else.

Usually an okay takeaway. Tonight we ordered a curry sauce for £1.99. The pot was tiny!! Absolute rip off for sauce, didn’t even last for our portion of chips. Need to go back to the cup they used to have or increase the amount as for £2 this wasn’t at all worth the value for money. Chips were brown where they were overdone, was asked if I wanted salt and vinegar, completely forgot to provide this for 1/2 of the chips we ordered. Food was okay, but majorly overpriced and I wouldn’t recommend paying £1.99 for the small pot of sauce you get. Was extremely greasy.

We've always loved this place for its excellent food so we were eager to share the experience with visiting family. On this occasion we were very disappointed. Service was slow and the food was way below what we've had before with undercooked chips and overcooked fish. I hope this was just a bad day otherwise we couldn't recommend it.

Fish was good. Chips were a bit tough. The wait for it to be cooked was a little long, but the staff were delightful.

Mediocre food. It turned up basically cold and not very nice at all. Chips were undercooked, soggy and cold. Batter on all fish/chicken/sausages was soggy and cold. It was all extremely greasy and basically horrible. The best thing about the meal today was the curry sauce. This will be the last time we order from here unfortunately. It has gone from being the only place we get fish and chips to the only place we won’t. Also being charged £3.99 for the food to come cold is not good service.

The quality of the food is not as good as it used to be, alot of chips with black bits. The resturant area seems a bit rundown and tired, the mirrors in the booth seating were dirty the walls are in need of repair, the seats are worn out, the waitress was nice and helpful but working alone, it's a shame but we wouldn't return.

Asked for no mayo or tomato from options and came with both. Food was cold too

Hit and miss but last 3 times definitely a miss chips way over cooked possible reused chips if you going charge the price you do it needs to a lot better would not serve it it to a dog manger should be checking what's going out as its rubbish save your money and go elsewhere.

Awful, never go again. Chips were nearly all bad as I had to cut off the ends which were black. Also they had definitely sat there for an age as they were so dry. We ordered haddock but I'm pretty sure it was cod and it was too much batter not enough fish. This was our first time here and I would never, ever, go again. Don't waste your money. A fish supper is not cheap these days. I hate wasting my money on poor food.

Take away delivery, disgusting. This place is so very hit and miss. Some days you get great fish and chips which are edible but today they were dreadful. Rotten old potatoes with burnt bits, the potato “eyes” were plentiful, my sausage mediocre at best and even the cat turned her nose up at the left over fish. Lately we’ve had more bad meals than good so I doubt that we will rush back to buy any more soon.

Travel to many places for work around South East sorry a few chip shops on my way lol ... OK so just to confirm this ain't part of London is it ?...over 3 quid for a max 70p sausage ....really I'm from maidstone and these cheap sausages are £1.10 up my way £1.65 if you go a decent chippy with decent sausages. Batter was nice but thin and not very crispy Chips were ok .. a few tougher ones rather greasy. Tablets to order is a new one for a chippy so seems modern but 0 conversation and just passed food. With the 10% off for tablet order I paid £6.35 For a max £4 quid lunch

We travelled 300 miles to visit family who suggested we get a takeaway from this chip shop. We agreed as they said how good it was. We placed our order online, picked it up and when we got back and put the food on places, we found a piece of glass in amongst the chips. Absolutely disgusting that this was not picked up when it was being packaged up. This could have caused a serious injury. Would not recommend this chip shop to anyone.

Nice restaurant in nice location which I’d never been before .staff very polite and helpful . Ordered the fish and chip afternoon tea which came out nice and hot .lady asked us if we needed any thing else and any more help which we replied that we were fine . Food good value for money and was nice and tasty .thank for for a nice experience and we will b going back if we r ever in the area again .

We have eaten here a few times before and it's generally poor quality food at a very expensive price. The size of the portions are small and often the food is barely warm. Today I ordered a fish bites and chips which was really expensive and as always it was just warm and the chips were cold and there was maybe a small cupful. I was served my food after 15 minutes while others who has paid after me got served before me. Watching the two staff during this 15 minutes was painful as there was no organisation or structure in the kitchen and it showed.

Popped in for Fish n Chips with an old Friend.. Sophie served us, and was very bubbly and attentive. The Large Cod n chips was very good, and both our plates were empty lol.

You need to enter a discount code even though you are standing at the screen. BAD software design. Hake is available. A rare treat.

I was brought up near Skegness where fresh North Sea fish was always part of a great chip supper. Sampled my first Cod & Chips (with curry sauce) from Deep Blue last night and have to say they are the best fish and chips I have had for years. Light batter, chunky cod and very tasty chips. Going to make this a regular thing now. Thank you 🙏

One time part of the order was missing. They were proactive in responding to my complaint and refunded the missing item. Good to know that on the rare occasion something goes wrong they are keen to put things right.

We thought we would try takeaway again and give them the benefit of the doubt. Last time they missed one of the orders and charged us for it. This time we thought what could go wrong in getting a couple of portions of chips! Firstly, the portion of chips were very small for £3.59 each. Secondly the chips were so dry it seemed like they had been heated up from the night before. I definitely hadn't been cooked fresh. We definitely won't be returning.

We had a beautifully cooked lunch . The batter was so light with no stodgy under cooked batter . The service was very good very friendly. The restaurant was clean. All in all very satisfied and would recommend eating there .

Food was very expensive and not worth it at all. The beef burger was dripping in ketchup, battered sausages were burnt at the end, and the savaloy sausages were cold! Definitely won't be rushing to order from here again!!

Deep Blue in Oxted, Surrey is so hit and miss. Brought fish and chips this evening, and they were awful 😖. Chips were dry and brown. Just basically potato bits. Fish was dry and tasteless too. Obviously been kep tback from lunchtime. When money is so tight, and fish and chips are a treat, it's upsetting when you realise that you've just wasted your hard earned money. Will NEVER go back there again.

Ordered plaice but batter was very white hard and chewy and there seemed to be 2 layers the underneath layer white and soggy

Great experience at Deep blue fish bar, Oxted. The staff there are very friendly and polite, Food quality is very nice. Overall a very nice experience.
