Hello we love Seaview Cafe always a warm welcome 😁 best Cafe in Town Visited by all couples Families and plenty of people with their dogs .😁 I usually only post positive vibes In response to Claire who ever if I am eating my food I do not want any dog to sit at a table...it is actually NOT allowed due to hygiene standards. Perhaps easier if you had sat outside and enjoyed the Seaview Coast Line😊😊

Excellent cafe, food excellent both in quality and value, it has always been consistent every time we visit. Very friendly staff, and very dog friendly also, they made a real fuss of our three dogs. (A previous reviewer has marked them down for not allowing their dog on the furniture, it would never occur to us to allow ours on furniture when out in a cafe or pub!) Will definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We went along to this cafe this morning....we sat down in a cramped area of 5 tables .. the rest of the tables were outside.but being windy we opted for inside there were 2 woman preparing food in the kitchen and a guy wondering about picking up used customet plates after about 5 minutes we all thought mmmm no table service ?? So we went to the counter and ordered the food ... 3 minutes later the owner came in and took another couple's order who had just walked in !!!! ... she must have heard the coments our friend said about the service.... the food we ordered arrived .. .not a lot on the plate for the amount of ££££'s we spent there.. but it was ok and doorstep bread slices smothered in butter ....ok the service and the size of the meals only get 3 star ... which could have been a 4 or 5 if it had not for the small portions and poor service

We've known this cafe for years as family have lived ved here for a very long time and we visited often over many times. A trip with our dog bought us back here for lunch as so many places are expensive (albeit through no fault of their own) and we promised ourselves we would return to see if it is still as good value as it used to be. A beautiful bacon and egg sandwich (with rustic thickly sliced bread)and cheesy chips, 2 teas and all less than half price for one meal at other places. We're pleased that this little place survived covid and the latest cost of living crisis! No thrills but polite and helpful staff and fantastic views. Dog friendly is a bonus for our boy and all our 4 legged friends that walk along these shores. Long may you continue to serve Tankerton and see you again very soon 😊

This cafe is ideal for walkers, dog friendly and has helpful polite staff. It is not for those who read the fiction books set in Whitstable and expect the same experience as the overpriced establishments in town. The food is cooked to order and helpings are generous. The other diners are a slightly older crowd but friendly and there is a good atmosphere. In the summer it is a joy to sit out on the cliff top and look out to sea, you feel totally relaxed. The ice cream is really cold and is one of the best in the area. Even if you are on your own you will find a friendly welcome from staff and diners. I recommend the full English breakfast, prawn sandwiches and 99 icecream.

Regularly visit this cafe that we call the black and white cafe on Tankerton slopes! We travel here for breakfast and we would rather come here than anywhere else and if we do go anywhere else we say we wish we had gone to the black and white cafe! The breakfast is first class, ample, fresh, free range eggs, grilled bacon, no fat on the plate, they serve black pudding too! The set breakfasts come with a plate full of hot buttered toast, from freshly cut bread. If you order a sandwich here you best be hungry! The cafe has sweet little old ladies from nearby care homes having tea, lots of local people who come regularly, lots of people like us Who travel to come to the cafe, and on rainy daye any builders working nearby take refuge and have a hearty breakfast. Very friendly place and has lovely views over the sea and beach huts. And well behaved dogs are welcome too, couldn't get better? Yes! Its clean, spotless, and they also sell icecream.

Called in for lunch during a walk along the seashore to Herne Bay - we quite often avail ourselves of cups of tea [very strong no nonsense tea] to take to the beach but dont usually stop to eat. We had toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches, lovely thick granary bread stuffed with, obviously cheese and tomato. Unfortunately let down by the accompanying salad - the cucumber and cherry tomatoes were fine but the lettuce and salad leaves were old and tired, well past their sell by date - I virtually never leave food on my plate but even I couldnt get it down. A pity otherwise I would have awarded 4 stars. But as everyone says, great location - you can see across the Estuary to Southend on a clear day, with the WW2 forts and Wind turbines on the way.

Location - Now this is one of the many highlights of this cafe, The location itself is beautiful and literally as the name implies you can get a wonderful sea view from inside and outside the cafe, should the weather be good or bad there is seating to suit the are and afterwards why not stroll along the beach? VERY IMPORTANT NOTE TO ADD IS THAT DOGS ARE WELCOME WHICH FOR US WAS NICE BUT FOR SOME MAY NOT SO PLEASE BE AWARE.Appearance - Lovely little cafe and when I say little I mean little. can seat maybe 20 people? overall makes the appearance seem cosey and is a beautifully decorated little gem by the seaside.Food - Now people may think that a fry up is a mere, well a fry up but I have to say out of all the surrounding areas the breakfasts are the best hands down, The sausages actually taste like they have meat in them and rather than chips they have roast potatoes which are great. Nice big portions and proper bread all go down a treat.Drink - What can I say about a cafe? they do lovely coffees and if you grab a cold drink like juice or a can of something it is always cold. no issues in this department what so ever.Service - Servers are lovely, most of the people who visit this cafe are regulars and the servers know everyone by name. The food is cooked fresh and is out in a prompt manner and is presented well. servers are always smiling.Value - The average price you would pay for a decent fry up. please note that if you want a fry up but are only willing to pay £5 for a big plate youll be given garbage if you want a decent one you pay the extra couple of pound.Would we come again - Silly questions, we come here whenever we plan to ruin our diet with a calorific full English. Its a lovely cafe and we will always come back.

Seaview Cafe cooks magisterial meals - I've only been there for breakfast but this mighty kitchen puts most others to shame. Quality produce covers the breakfast plate - large enough to surf on. Their sourcing of the brown bread is brilliant - tasty chunks soaked in butter. The outside dining area is one of the great places to eat - the quiet sea and comfort of the swimming huts. The only area where they might wish toi invest is their coffee - it passes muster and for most of their customers does fine. However put a really top notch machine in and you would be in foody heaven. The staff are the best. Priceless.;

After reading the last review I’m quite shocked as I was actually sat opposite the poster. The young waitress she is referring to was never once rude and the whole situation has be blown out of proportion. This is a busy cafe and very popular. Occasionally things can get forgotten that’s part and parcel of being human working in a busy kitchen. I found the service to be the complete opposite all the staff were happy and checked to make sure we were enjoying our meal. They were friendly and welcoming. But I suppose the difference is I wasn’t rude to the staff or condascending unlike they other diners. Yes the cook was having a cigarette break but I also witness the elder lady (who is old enough to know better) go over to the cook and threaten her something along the lines of look at my daughter like that again and watch. To be honest if I was the manager of the cafe they would not be the type of customers I was looking to entice. So to the staff at seaview I would think yourselves lucky that they have no intention of returning. I however will definitely be back and will also recommend. Keep up the good work. Just a shame people who are out for a free ride feel the need to try and cause a scene to avoid paying full price.

My 2 children and I had to wait for ages for any service despite the place being half empty and several members of staff not appearing to be doing anything. I noticed two of them were eating with their fingers whilst preparing meals for customers in the kitchen behind the counter. Some of the tables had not been cleared and the place looked generally dirty and uncared for with a strong smell of frying and wet dogs. The floor was wet and very dirty. Service, when I was eventually served, was poor, the 'waitress' was almost rude - no smile, no please or thank you and such poor spoken English, despite being English, that even my 6 year old commented on her poor grammar! It was difficult to find anything remotely healthy to eat. The food (traditional cooked breakfast) was hot and tasty when it came but not very well presented on the plate. The tea was stewed - very much 'builder's tea'. The prices were reasonable for this type of 'greasy spoon' food. The best thing about this cafe is the views over the sea and beach.

We visit this cafe 2 or 3 times a year - driving all the way from Hertford for their amazing breakfast followed by a walk along the front. We both felt that today's offering was not really worth the drive - the fried eggs had insipid yolks, the fried potatoes lacked any greasy yumminess, the bacon was bland and the lovely thick toast must have been shown the butter knife only briefly. It all tasted as though they have changed supplier to someone cheaper. Most cafes serve "proper coffee" as well these days and we've not minded in the past cos the food has been so good. Think this will have been our last visit. They were still busy which is good so perhaps it was just us?

A real favourite of mine. Classic basic food well cooked and fast service. Sausage bap is marvellous. Great views of the sea. Not amazing value but the venue is compensation.

What a great find in a lovely location. The full English breakfast is fab and was served piping hot. Just a shame there isn't more outside seating. Would definitely return.

The breakfasts here simply cannot be beaten, just make sure that you get some exercise afterwards to work this one off

The café is situated on Tankerton Slopes overlooking the sea. We had breakfast at an outside table with friends and their dog. It was very busy and there was a wait for the food, as it is all freshly cooked. It was excellent when it arrived and a reasonable price.

No food, visiting for just one night. Very disappointed, no food. Staff walked out we had to walk to another place to eat. Height of the season they need to get it sorted.

Situated on Tankerton Slopes over looking the sea this dog friendly cafe serves excellent all day breakfasts at a reasonable price. All freshly cooked you may not be served immediately but well worth the wait. Excellent home made cakes too.

On a positive note this cafe is brilliantly positioned with fabulous views. Its basic interior could do with a smarten up to make it less canteen like.We wanted a small veggie option and were shown a breakfast of 2 eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, saute potatoes, 2 slices of toasts, plus tea or coffee for £6.60. Very good value but too much food so we asked for a scaled down version just beans and mushroom on toast with tea and coffee. The waitress didn't seem to know the cost so we were surprised to be charged £14.40. Apparently this was based on mushroom/beans on toast with drinks added separately. The food itself was plentiful and perfectly nice albeit not that hot. The tea had a passing acquaintance with a tea bag and the coffee was really bad. Can't understand why they don't have a decent machine. But we really felt overcharged.

Can't beat the scrambled egg and salmon on toast with a wonderful view of the Sea. If you haven't been just go, sit, watch and eat a big portion of some lovely home cooked food ❤️️

2 coffees to go this morning; we took one sip and poured the rest out on the grass. So called coffee was out of a machine and tasted like weak Mellow Birds with a scoop of powdered cream in it. Yuk - £4 down the drain. Come on: it's not rocket science!

We found this place by chance but it exceeded our expectations. Liked it because it served homemade and tasty food. Liked it because:Mushroom soup - my 20-month-old son had that and absolutely loved it with some nice soft breadJacket potato- I had it with prawns and it was just how I liked with some lovely roasted skinBacon sandwich- husband had that and it was generously loaded with bacon. Nice bread too. Heard the people from the table next to our to pay compliments on their food which seemed to be English breakfast. Unfortunately it is a small space so only saw one high chair. It might not be great for several small children but if it's a nice day and you don't mind to feed them in their prams outside, you might just have some lovely food with reasonable price and a great view.

Housed within a stunning Edwardian (possibly) building, the Seaview Cafe is as good as you will find anywhere in England. Regularly frequented by locals, the standard of cafe food was fabulous. Sandwiches made on excellent bread were door stoppers - delicious to eat. The puds were terrific - nothing fancy but thoroughly tasty. The women behinbd the counter and in the kitchen were excellent - focused and friendly. Places like this need to be supported by locals, and in this case, they justifiably were.

Great place to visit at the end of an early morning walk by the sea with my family. Good simple food that everyone enjoyed, and good tea and coffee. Recommended

Super expensive with miserable staff. First time I have visited in a few years and noticed no longer used by locals, probably can't afford it. No ambience or character left, so disappointed.

I recommend the taster tray to sample five thirds of different beers (assuming you can't cope with five pints!). It's the best way of trying their wide range.

Great menu, plenty of choice. Enjoyed three stunning started, so filling that could not manage all of the main course - which was also tasty. Good wine range and everything great value for money. Not too busy so able to catch up with friends. Have always had a positive experience here

Since Adrian retired and Andy and Clive left, the cafe (and showroom), have gone seriously downhill, £2 for a cup of Nescafe!!! only one or two customers, there is no atmosphere, or banter in the cafe or showroom, it's more or less been turned into a car showroom, i.e. only interested in closing deals, "goodbye, next! I don't think it will be long before it's closed!

You will not find a friendlier bar. Great afternoon listening to the open mic crew. Fantastic!
