What a great real ale pub. Only sells beer, cider and packet snacks so bring along the conversation. I’ve known this pub over many years and it hasn’t changed much. You’re either going to love it or hate it but it’s what pubs used to be before they became restaurants that tolerate drinkers.

We are staying at a friend's house in Forest Row dog-sitting whilst she's on holiday and decided to try the Sunday lunch at this restaurant. We booked a table in advance just in case. We were warmly greeted by Grace who also served us our food. She was charming, bubbly, efficient and very helpful. My husband chose the Roast Beef whilst I had the Roast Pork, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. There was a large selection of vegetables with the dinners, plenty of gravy as well as a large Yorkshire Pudding. The portions were so generous that neither of us had room for dessert, although we were sorely tempted. For drinks my husband chose Thatchers Gold Cider whilst I had Becks Vier. We will definitely come back again on a week day and try some of their other dishes. But the roast Sunday lunches are very good and excellent value for money. Thanks to all the staff for making our Sunday lunchtime so enjoyable.

Went with a group for afternoon tea, very disappointing. The room was a soulless committee room with such a wide table really difficult to talk across. Was expecting the conservatory . There was only one waitress for 20 people ,felt really sorry for her. We waited about 40 minutes before anything happened when we all got water and our drinks order. Another long wait til the food came by which time the drinks were cold. The sandwiches were thick and uninspiring, the cakes obviously frozen as still cold. The scones were lovely to be fair. All in all poor value for £24.95

Gran pub, cerveza encantadora, personal impresionante. Gran colección de ales locales e internacionales y más grandes. Ambiente acogedor con una gama de habituales casi tan servicial como el personal

A last minute decision to go out for dinner, so where better than the local. We had been here for drinks on numerous occasions and always found it very friendly so thought we would give the food a go. Great menu, loads of choice and freshly cooked. Cannot fault it. Restaurant was packed, always a good sign!

This is without doubt the worst fish & chips we have had, The cupboard container it was served in was saturated with oil when we arrived home, the batter oozed oil and the fish appeared to have been reheated - the chips also seem to have been reheated - not crispy and were soggy inside. There was no usual fish & chips smell. It smelt of stale oil and had a tainted taste. The fish portions were small, the chip portion was large - which meant more to throw away. This was early Friday evening , which you would have thought busy enough for all to be cooked to order. The cost came to nearly £25 for 2 fish/chips & 1 extra portion. The shop does not take cards.

Rubbish, funniest omelette I've ever seen, chips way over cooked and £2.80 for a small glass of flat Pepsi, they need to go to other poppins to see how it's done, never again

Recommended to us as a good breakfast spot , so thought we had better try it. The premises was clean and tidy and we had a friendly reception . The menu contained the usual British breakfast items . We made our choices and what we ordered arrived shortly afterwards, well cooked and presented just we had ordered. Prices were reasonable too
