The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Just returned home after a 2 day break with hubby & our 2 Springers for our Ruby wedding anniversary. First came for our silver wedding anniversary & then our 30th. Well you didn’t disappoint! Lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast’s & dinner’s were excellent. Full marks to the chef for quality food, beautifully presented. Have to mention Alvin. What a delightful gent 🤗. Made sure we were well looked after & spoilt our Springers with sausage at breakfast. A truly stunning hotel. The most enjoyable stay. Thank you

Recommended to us as a good breakfast spot , so thought we had better try it. The premises was clean and tidy and we had a friendly reception . The menu contained the usual British breakfast items . We made our choices and what we ordered arrived shortly afterwards, well cooked and presented just we had ordered. Prices were reasonable too

Had a lovely meal, Cody was really brilliant, very attentive and helpful. Food was nice as well though not on par with the staff service.

Great staff, lovely to sit by the fire in the bar. Restaurant area felt a bit formal to me so stayed in the bar. Food was excellent but very small portions, and not cheap either. I had the gammon and could have eaten 2 plates.

Staff fantastic brilliant service always go the extra mile .will take drinks to table for anyone who need it and always a smile on their faces

Super Lokal, sehr freundlicher Besitzer. Security Mann hat uns souverän vor einem Passanten beschützt, der sich unangemessen verhielt. Sollten wir je wieder nach Santa Monica kommen, ist das unser First Pkace.

I enjoyed my full English breakfast here .My favourite is the hash browns,however you must note that when you come here you must carry cash because they don’t accept cards .

Absolutely outstanding! The menu is very good with a good selection of dishes to suit all tastes. The staff are friendly and polite and nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed at the hotel and eaten here every time. They have a wood fired stove and you can tell. I highly recommend the Signature Burger, if that’s your thing. I have it almost every stay and look forward to it. I also recommend their deserts. They’re delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Var en tur i Calverley Grounds for en gåtur og da der kom en regn byge valgte vi at gå ind i denne lille hyggelig cafe. Her er servering både inde og ude. Hyggelig typisk engelsk. Flinke unge som var hurtige og vakse. Et fint tilbud af små retter, varmt og koldt og alt til meget rimelige priser. Vi valgte the og kager og hyggede os mens det regnede. Kan anbefales og vi vil helt sikkert gerne komme her igen.

Booked in here for Sunday roast dinner it was absolutely scrumptious! The food portions were generous and the pub atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Keep up the good work Carla & Lee and thank you to chef Richard for a tasty treat

Excellent fish and chips served quickly. Went on a very busy weekday evening and the service was very efficient. Really good chips - generous portions!

Just stayed for 3 nights , what a great place, the staff are lovely and so helpful, ample parking , and so near the town, the place needs a complete refurb but don’t let that put you off , the place is very clean , our beds were very comfortable and we will definitely go back , it will look amazing when it’s refurbished, people with children will have to be carful as there is no barrier to stop children from getting near the river, but then that is down to parents , definitely book it’s great

Very quiet for a Friday night. The barman was pleasant enough. It’s just all a bit dull for me. You can’t really see the cartoons as the room is not particularly well lit. The cocktails were fine. We walked through the hotel to the other bar which was slightly better but at £9 for a glass of not cold enough Pinot Grigio in another badly lit room, we left feeling rather conned after they added a service charge as well. . For a large hotel the wine selection by glass is very limited.

We love this shop the owner is always friendly and polite the fish &chips are always hot and tasty keep it up.And by the way the shop is always spotless.
