Ocean Fish Bar in Arun

We love this shop the owner is always friendly and polite the fish &chips are always hot and tasty keep it up.And by the way the shop is always spotless.

This used to be my chip shop of choice until I saw a different side to the owner. Was a very quiet night just the young guy serving and the owner cooking. Paid £16 for large cod & 2 portions of chips to the guy serving whilst the owner was cooking & chatting to the only other customer about who was the best electric company* and how  much prices had gone up etc, etc. In fact still chatting whilst he wrapped his food, packed his food and 5 - 10 minutes after that.  The other guy finally left but still no urgency to cook my order - seemed to be a case of he'd cook it when he could be bothered. Surreal situation - Me standing one side of the counter doing nothing whilst he did the same on the other side - fish still not in the fryer. Maybe he was waiting for more customers ? - No idea but have seen a few recent negative reviews about old oil so maybe times not so good (albeit still advertising Best Local Chippy 2016 !) Anyway he had my money and I wasn't getting it back (or any food til he was good and ready). Still has my money but won't be getting any more - and I never did get my food. * EDF apparently in case you were interested ....? ... No - Me neither.

Bought fish & chips , fish was cooked to order so had to wait which was fine till I started to look round the shop and wished I hadn't, there were cobwebs on all the lighting, dirty flooring but it was the smell of the oil when cooking, I'd already paid by this time £9.60 and it was nearly closing time , drove to by the beach to eat , chips were awful and tasted of dirty oil , the fish looked nice but was swimming in oil and yes tasted of dirty oil , consequently food went in the bin, would nit recommend

£5.50 average/good size portion. Rubbery chips, old oil tasting batter on fish? Unlikely to return.

we are local to this shop and always been great fish and chips until 15th july , we popped in at 5.45 for our fish and chips , drove to hotham park to enjoy in the sun , opened bag , fish and chip swimming in oil , bad after taste , the fish batter was not fluffy as if oil not hot enough , but the smell and taste of oil was unacceptable and disgusting and i am not alone on this view as others who eat there had stated this as well , MINE WAS INEDIBLE EVEN THE DOG REFUSED TO EAT IT WENT IN BIN

Always my first choice for fish and chips in the town, delicious and very reasonably priced. About to place my telephone order now!

A really good local Fish & Chips having previously been award winners. Your food is cooked to order so at times there may be a little wait if busy, but its worth the wait as you get freshly cooked food and the portions are huge. They also take phone orders if you can not wait. Well known locally and highly recommended.

First time at Ocean. Hubby had excellent rock & chips I had cod. Both very tasty and good portions. Will be back!! :-)

I have used this fish and chip takeaway several times recently, one of which was for an order for over 20. The owner was at pains to make sure we got the timing right so we could pick the order up as soon as it was ready and so enjoy it at its hottest and freshest. Everyone said how tasty it was and what good value.

Fresh cooked, chips are the best , all the food we’ve had is the best ,very clean shop, friendly staff.

This chip shop serves great fish and chips but beware all food is cooked to order but quality comes at a cost.

Saturday night takeaway. All food is cooked to order so is hot and tasty. Good choice of food and they try to cater for all tastes. One of my regular places for food.

If you want the best fish and chips in Bognor this is the place to go. The fish is always cooked to order and you always a very good portion of chips.

The best chippy in Bognor Regis in my view, sometimes difficult to park as it is a busy road. Good portion size compared to other chippies! Reasonably priced with friendly staff.

ThisOcean fish bar is a regular location for us. Everything is freshly cooked so do not mind waiting for a few minutes

Was always ordering from here for me and my wife and kids weekly, but the last three times have been awful, very impolite and even tho they read the order back to you it still ends up wrong. Can't say I'll rush back

Amazing fish and chips. They're so delicious!The taste just right to the perfect . It's a big portion. We'll keep coming back specially the boss is a kind and funny man:)

We had a delicious beef burger. Well done cook. We love their golden brown crispy chips,too. My kids just can't stop eating.It's a family-friendly takeaway restaurant. The staffs are quite nice and helpful.It looks like our next door kitchen.

Pensé que le daría una oportunidad Bar peces del océano como en el 2016, ganó el premio del año "fish and chips" en su primer año con el nuevo propietario. Estaba muy ocupado inmediatamente después de la concesión y todo el personal era plana. Pero incluso bajo esta presión la comida todavía salió buscando y degustación de bonito, además de ser servido con una sonrisa y amables palabras. He continuado para utilizar este chips desde entonces y todavía ser decepción, aparte de ellos de lo que quieras, si lo dejo demasiado tarde en la noche, durante su temporada más concurrida. Pero que seguramente es una buena señal de la calidad.

Pescado y patatas fritas de esta tienda son los favoritos de mi familia. Sirven el mejor calidad de peces con generosa porción de papas fritas. Me encanta el pescado fresco cocinado suaves cubiertas con masa sabrosa y crocante. Después de esperar 25 minutos, nos servían pescado y patatas fritas que tenía ben en el armario calentamiento durante 15 minutos. Me había olvidado de hacer la salchicha en masa que debía haber sido con mi orden. Cuando les pregunté por la persona que sirve, que larga la espera tener comida que habían mantenido caliente, él era muy fuera de mano y dijo más o menos dura! ! !

After a second disgusting meal, (I thought I would give it a second chance), from a chip shop in Aldwick Road, which is just around the corner from me, I started looking for some place so as I could continue my weekly treat from the chippy I passed the Oceans fish bar on my way home and decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! Excellent quality food at a reasonable price. Crispy chips with a soft, fluffy centre and when you get home the paper is dry, unlike some where you can fry an egg on the grease that covers the wrapper, and the staff, particularly the young girl, are friendly and welcoming.

Always a lovely meal from Ocean Fish Bar, the staff are clean and friendly and the food is amazing. You may have to wait a little while for something to be cooked but that shows its all freshly made. They give generous portions and are good value for money

Clean tidy shop , very very good fish and chips , don't take my word for it , come and try it won't be disappointed! Both me and all my family are enjoyed

I'm afraid I strongly disagree with all good reviews; The standard oil that the chips are cooked in is questionable, as is the quality of potato chip used. Also, to save on time and demand, the chips just do not spend long enough being cooked. The result? Soggy, sluggy, wet oily potatoes that make your stomach feel 'gurgly'. I don't like to put down local chippies. But the Ocean Fish Bar just are under average compared to other great BRITISH chippies such as FREDS in Littlehampton. Sorry ocean fish bar. Not good.

Another brilliant take away, fresh cooked food, piping hot. clean tidy shop. Perfect service and happy staff.

Over the years I've ate a lot of fish and chips and I find this one in my top 10. The food taste good the staff are friendly and most important it looks very clean and tidy. This to me is very important. Only down side it's closed on Mondays :)

You get your monies worth, but the chips could have been a bit crisper for my liking.The batter on some of the fish my family had looked a little soggy.

Large tasty portions good varied menu, excellent service would recommend to anyone. Nothing to dislike
