Cedar Restaurant in Arun

A very disappointing valentines meal. Greeted for our pre-odered 3 course meal by a rude hostess, we were the first to be seated in the restaurant for the night. 25 minuets later, our starter arrived before our drinks ( a complimentary glass of prosecco each and a bottle of tap water). Starters was very bland and the fried item were cold, even though we are one of three parties in the restaurant at this point. Luckily, our mains arrived promptly after our starter. Yet, this consisted of dry and bland chicken. When we finished, it took the staff about 30 minuets to clear our plates. We then continued to wait 20 extra minuets before we gave up waiting for our desert and had to ask 3 times for someone to grab the bill for us. During this time, we started talking to the couple sat next to us who seemed to be having similar issues. Overall, this was a very disappointing meal and no one single memeber of staff appologies for the poor servise.

Very Disappointed. My partner and I had pre ordered a 3-course dinner from a set menu at this beautiful hotel for Valentine’s Day and were very excited about it. Upon arrival we were the first to be sat, and was told a glass of Prosecco and tap water will be arriving shortly. 25 Mins later our starter arrived, before our drinks. The starter tasted very bland and to be honest tasted like supermarket food. The BBQ sauce for the antipasti im pretty sure is just Heinz BBQ sauce. 10 mins into our starter our glass of Prosecco and tap water finally arrived. At this point there were only half a dozen of tables, not very busy. Our mains arrived promptly after, and were greeted with dry and bland chicken and fondant potato was just awful. Having finished our mains, the plates sat at the side of the table for about 30mins, no one came over to check on us or offer us any drinks. We then waited a further 20 mins for our desserts by which point we had ran out of patience and asked a waitress for the bill. Then a young chap dumps a jug or water on our table, despite already having one and then that same waitress brings us 1 of our 2 desserts, I assume to try and change our minds but having waited nearly an hour for just the desserts, enough was enough. We met a lovely couple who sat next to us who started to have them same problems we did. By this point the restaurant was full and the staff were working very hard but were lacking the basics of customer service. It seemed very unorganised and frantic. We got 50% of the bill but still doesn’t make up for a horrid time. I will stress this is solely based on the restaurant and not the hotel itself. Having worked in the industry myself I understand reviews like this aren’t pleasant, especially when you’ve worked hard but hopefully it will be used constructively.

The group have pre-ordered all the food as it was a function booked in advance. We sat down for dinner at 18:30, the main course was served at 19:30, beware is you order the haddock and chips it will come with 4-9 chips only. The staff were lovely but there was only two of them to served 49 people. So people were sat waiting for there food while others sat with their empty plates. You would think management would put an extra wait staff or two on as they knew we were coming month's in advance.

The portion of pork belly was wery small for me. Rest of the service was very good. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!! Made from very fresh local product . Just coffee was not strong enough for morning to wake me up. I will recommend to with hotel.

I have stayed at the Avisford Park Hotel many times but last night was the first time I can say that dinner was fantastic! I had the duck and it was beautiful! There were so many dishes on offer that sounded divine! Breakfast is always good there but the new Executive chef has really turned dinner around and I can’t wait to go back!!!

Good food when staying at the hotel & not wanting to drive. Lovely friendly staff.

Breakfast was very good, and just £10 a head. Cooked options, cereals, toast, pastries, fresh fruit, cold cuts and cheese. Lots of tea, coffee and juice. No complaints.

Everybody was kind, which is much appreciated. Our main courses took about an hour to arrive, the food was unremarkable and my polenta has no salt in it.

Food was good and as a guest in the hotel very good value as kids eat free.

Every year (pre covid) My wife and I have visited the Cedars resturant on her Birthday, my Birthday and our anniversary, I booked in for the 25th May, checked the menu on line and was pleased with what we saw. On arriving we were given the Bar menu which was the same food I could have bought at McDonald's or Burger king, On asking for the manager I asked her why it wasn't stated on line that their menus had changed, and she just said "I have no Idea" so I cancelled the following dates we'd booked, and came out. Thank you Hilton for spoiling our Wedding Anniversary meal; you will not be seeing us again.

Nice interior, friendly staff, quick service, decent food and testy dessert. Good variety of drinks, I would highly recommend you to try IPA CLOCKWORK and chocolate cheesecake Plenty of tables for the groups of six people

We ate here last weekend. I cant believe they have a chef in the evenings. The menu was very disappointing. The food was unacceptable and a 2 course meal for 4 cost over £120. A complete rip off

Plenty of choice - hot and cold. All seemed fresh and tasty - hot food was served by servers rather than just left under a hot plate. And for the best view, ask for a table on the terrace.

Whilst the restaurant had a reduced menu - the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. Currently you do need to book to eat in the restaurant

All dishes we ate were delicious, service impeccable, atmosphere warm. Recommend.

Ordered from the bar menu , the Chicken and Leek pie sounded nice and looked good when it arrived . The pie was accompanied by 8 green beans and some mash . Not a lot for £13.5 for a pie and mash . The pie was nice but not excellent , warm but not hot , the mash was excellent and the few beans nice . Cant quite understand why any chef in a restaurant serves a chicken pie with beef gravy ???

Me and a friend went for afternoon tea which was not worth the £22. it was very basic afternoon and nothing wow about it. the service was the worst part we told we could choose where to sit and got left to seat ourselves, we were given our tea and food and got left to it. not once did a member of staff check on us, offer us more tea or food which we would have liked, we also weren’t able to ask as there was never anyone around. even when we went to pay there was no one around we could have quite easily walked out without paying. the service was awful, the food was nice however there was nothing amazing about it and i wouldn’t go back. not left a good impression which is a shame.

Great afternoon celebrating my sister-in-law's 60 birthday celebrations. Staff were great and food was lovely the bottomless brunch was a great success.

We went to the Avisford Park last Sunday for a spa day and lunch. The restaurant was busy yet the service was attentive and efficient. The food choice for all courses was good and we could not fault any of the food. Would definitely recommend the goats cheese and beetroot starter. We all had a lovely relaxing day and will for sure be returning!

This is a lovely small restaurant serving high quality food with welcoming staff. We visited for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable dinner. We will return time and time again to this wonderful place

Overall great hotel reception staff gave good welcome. Room large but bathroom needs attention. Staff lack knowledge of wine which is very overpriced getting orders wrong. No wine list every given.

Very good once again do not recall paying a supplement for the sticky toffee pudding on our previous visit. Pay it people it's worth it. We where the last booking and choice of dessert was limited to STP or apple crumble. I should have gone for the STP. 10 out of 10 for rustling something up, but tinned apples (shouldn't be in your store cupboard) and crushed biscoffs doesn't make an apple crumble. We ate it well it wasn't poisonous, but it wasn't good. My only gripe everything else was superb. Thank you

We had booked to stay overnight The hotel itself looked a little tired and not what I would have thought a Hilton hotel to look like But the staff couldn’t do enough for you The evening meal was mouthwatering The staff didn’t rush you through your meal It was delicious

We decided to stay in Arundel over valentines weekend as it is a short drive from London. We didn’t have high expectations for the restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the atmosphere was lovely. A beautiful old building. We had 2 mocktails which were lovely and refreshing. For starters, we had the lentil soup and Mediterranean veggies in a Parmesan basket. Absolutely delightful. The portions were rather decent and the veggies wonderfully marinated. For our mains we had sea bass and crushed potatoes and a veggie wellington with sweet potato. The flavour combinations were delicious. The skin on the sea bass was lovely and crisp. Our dessert was a raspberry and white chocolate tartlet which was wonderfully paired. One of the best desserts I have had. We both left happily satisfied. The breakfast in the morning is a buffet and they even offer their own home made veggie sausages which were so delicious and a lovely touch as many places do not offer veggie sausages. The best Local British food.

It was such a shame we had been gifted a spa and dinner experience. The Spa/pool was extremely over crowded and we were unable to enjoy the facility. No towels and couldn't swim, queuing to be able to change and it was dirty. The meal itself was good but the staff were so stretched, bust it was very long waiting for courses, overall not enjoyable or relaxing!! Contacted the hotel but no one bothered to respond.

Roast beef and roast pork for lunch. Not bad, although roast potatoes were more like boiled potatoes. Prawn cocktail and pate starters were generic. 2 glasses of wine £24. 2 coffees £12. Our Christmas present of lunch and spa turned into an expensive afternoon. The grounds of the hotel looked like they had been left to go wild. Won't be returning.

Went here on a groupon voucher for Sunday lunch and use of a spa. We didn’t use the spa as it is only small and our main focus was the lunch. We arrived early so the restaurant asked us to wait in the lounge until they prepared a table. We watched other diners go into the restaurant so we eventually went back and they apologised for forgetting us. The decor in the dining room was very tired with paint missing from the windows , water stains on the ceilings and on the coving. We were surprised to see people eating in the restaurant in dressing gowns and slippers when it’s not attached to the spa. The starter was ok. The roast came with the gravy and was warm not hot. The roasted vegetables came separately and were dry and looked very sad and overlooked. I asked for my dinner to be microwaved which they did. The creme brûlée was just about set. At this point the heavy rain started and we had spots of rain coming onto our table through the ? Window. At this point we decided to push the table away from the window, finish our dessert and go home. Not what we expected from the Hilton and we certainly would not go back again.

A good range on the current menus - particularly important for regular visitors. Service was really good, even though it was very busy with a number of big groups in for dinner. Staff very attentive and keeping everything moving.

Sunday lunch at the Cedars never fails to impress. The meals are served piping hot and the staff are very attentive although not overbearing. We asked for one of the beef to be well done and this was not an issue. Their desserts are lovely, try the sticky toffee pudding its lovely.

We attended for a relaxing spa day and three course meal. The facilities were very over-subscribed. When we arrived there were no towels, nor locks available for the lockers. (We has rung in advance to check these were provided and as they were, we hadn’t brought our own). The employee said he would bring us some towels in a few minutes. We struggled to change in the changing room that was crammed with people - all very polite but very awkward. The tiniest bench was available but this was largely full of people’s bags, due to the lack of locker availability. The pool was packed for the duration with groups chatting, making swimming impossible. I’ve never seen such a tiny steam room or sauna. Max of 5 people in each, and these too were full to capacity. After 1 1/2 hours we decided to get out, but at this point we still did not have towels. My friend went to the pool office to ask. The guy disappeared. He didn’t come back for over 10 minutes, leaving my friend stood on the pool side. We had to queue to use 1 of only 2 showers, and then literally fall over others to get changed - it was appalling and not at all relaxing as we had hoped.

Had the prawn cocktail , Sunday corn fed roast dinner and apple crumble , good portions and well presented . Susan and Maria are a huge credit to the restuarant . Would definetly return .

Booked Sunday lunch for a group of four people.

This was a birthday present for myself and partner for a 3 course sunday lunch. The service was wonderful and the food was extremly good. As its not too far we will most definately be going again as if we had paid it was also good value for money!!!

The Food wad excellent and the service great. Although we had 15 of us and pre ordered the food came out hot and promptly.

My girlfriend booked me and her on a Sunday morning gym and spa experience followed by Sunday lunch. It was an excellent day and the service was first class.

Rediscovered 6 months ago and now regular diners, especially for Sunday roast. Always get great service from staff I can only describe as amazing. We love the setting of the restaurant, overlooking the garden and find it cosy and relaxing. It is really nice to be able to have a drink in the lounge, or on the terrace before or after eating. The quality of the food is high without being too pricey. Sunday roast is a favourite but the main and bar menu we have used and found very good. We booked in for Xmas and Boxing Day Lunch. Both were fantastic, table decorations, service, atmosphere and the food. Even on a very busy day, the staff and chef still went out of their way to cater for my father who is particularly fussy on what he can eat. The experience was excellent value and worth every penny. I am often disappointed with the value and quality of hotel restaurant food but can honestly say that Cedar is the exception.

We booked a table for four people to have a festive lunch last Sunday. We were very impressed, with Christmas crackers on the table. The food was very good we all had the roast turkey for our main dish and it was delicious the Turkey was cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were very obliging, we will certainly visit again.

We had such a lovely time. The staff looked after my mum and I so well and made a fuss of her for her 80th birthday, she really loved it. Rooms comfy, food nice, pool nice. Recommended !!

This restaurant has a very selectve menu and is located at the rear of the ground floor of the hotel. Very friendly staff and good ambience.

Having four nights in the hotel with dinner included in our deal, we had a very good experience of the Cedar restaurant and much enjoyed the cuisine and the hard working and pleasant staff. The desserts were particularly good - a lemon roulade with sorbet was memorable - and the all chef's special dishes were interesting and well worth having. One evening we had the sharing platter instead of separate starters - it was a huge selection and excellent, including a Vietnamese dip that was very tasty. Restaurants in hotels are rarely as good as Cedar - in our experience, great care was put into producing each dish and we ate extremely well.

The restaurant is in the Hilton at Arundel. My sister in law and I had a groupon deal which included use of the pool and sauna. Here I will just rate the restaurant and lounge. We had 3 courses each all of which were delicious. The service was unhurried and polite. Wine by the glass is usual hotel prices. I ate here 5 years ago and the restaurant was posher (if that’s a word!). Now it is more conference centre. There are no tablecloths on the table which does make a different feel to the place. Last time we came to celebrate my husbands 50th. I wouldn’t come here for a celebration again. That “special” feel is lacking in the restaurant. The adjoining lounge is great to have a coffee or beer and to relax and chat.

We used this restaurant for an 80th birthday meal and were given a quiet corner as requested. All dietary requirements were handled with a minimum of fuss. We were well looked after by Gonçalo and Connor who were attentive but not intrusive. The portion sizes are good but not huge and very well presented with a varied menu selection to chose from. The restaurant is full of character being set in a former school in a listed building and part of the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel. Quirky touches such as the bill being presented in an old book add to the charm. We would definitely eat here again.

We chose to eat here for one dinner during our 3 night stay. Service was excellent throughout and we ate from the a la carte and bar menu. I started with a really tasty pea and mint soup, followed by the classic fish chips and peas fro the bar menu which was perfectly cooked . My dessert was a poched pear with coconut rice pudding and fruits. The pear could have been poached a little more but the rice pudding and fruits was delicious. Service really was with a smile.

We spent a night at the Hilton and decided to eat at the restaurant so we didn’t need to drive. Food was ok (but didn’t think worth the price) but service was awful. We had to ask multiple times for our food and drink and spent over 2 hours eating our meal. Really disappointed.

Came with a group of 4 friends and we had a disappointjng experience. We ordered wine which they forgot to bring. The food was just okay unfortunately. Then it took 4 attempts (I'm not even kidding!) to get our bill right (we had a tastecard). I don't think we will be going back again.

We had two meals in the restaurant both of excellent quality both food & service .

My wife and I were staying at the Hilton Avisford and had dinner at Cedars. For a restaurant inside of a hotel I thought it was quite good. I had the Lamb Rump and my wife had the vegetarian puff pastry. We enjoyed a very nice glass of red wine but were too full for desert. I think the starter of bread with butter and Pesto filled us up a bit. The food was very good and the service was very nice and friendly. Highly recommend.

Visited on a Saturday evening, was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We were served by Courtney and Gonçalo, they were both very helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The food was outstanding, I started with the prawns, followed with duck and finished with the sticky toffee pudding, all delicious! I really liked the added features of the restaurant being themed of the history of the building which was originally a boys school. 10/10

We were greeted with smiles as we approached the restaurant. Our waitress Courtney showed us to our table she was very friendly and helpful. Courtney took our order and nothing was too much trouble we had sides with our starters which all arrived together. Our mains arrived and were very tasty all five off us enjoyed our meal and we are a fussy family and there was plenty off food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite and relaxing I really like all the decor in the restaurant little things like our bill arrived in a book and we had an of-stead inspection to fill in and we all agreed on A’s & A* and just filling this in we were given 5% off the bill lovely touch.

Came here for Sunday Lunch with friends. Really good Sunday Roast great selection of all 3 courses. My friends had dietary requirements (gluten and cheese allergies) this was taken note of and alternatives were offered. Also good value for money. Definatly will return for Sunday Lunch and also possibly afternoon tea (a couple in lounge area had this and looked lovely)

Had a meal for two this evening. There were more staff in the restaurant than customers yet still we had to ask for our drinks twice as someone clearly forgot. My colleague ordered the dirty burger - considering the price this was pathetic!!! Literally was a cheese burger with nothing else. There was nothing special about it and looked like a bad take away! I ordered the ribeye steak just with salad and some Caesar dressing. The "salad" was cucumber, yellow pepper and tomato......since when is this a salad?!? I had to actually ask for lettuce!!! When you're paying £25 you would think the salad would be decent at least!....and the price of drinks at £3.75 for a can size of coke zero....really!!!! The staff need to get their finger out and actually pay attention to customers. Little details-we complained about the food and there was no real apology and the service charge still came on the bill without any acknowledgement of everything that was wrong. Would not recommend for service or food and God only knows how bad it would be if it was actually busy!

We enjoyed dinner at the Cedar Restaurant while staying at the hotel. Portions were a bit small but the food was excellent, especially the deserts. The restaurant was quiet with just a few tables in use but it was a lovely atmosphere with attentive staff looking after our orders. Good value as we were able to use our Tastecard.

The service was first class, Waiter "Alaa" was so attentive, we were given a glass of complimentary Champers, and the food was second to none, At the end of our meal they brought my wife some Birthday goodies and the staff sang " Happy Birthday" a fitting end to a great day.

Enjoyed several good meals. Jo, who was incharge of the restaurant was charming most helpful, especially helping my wife with her choice of food as she has a gluten allergy

Superb section of freshly made sandwiches and the most generous portions ever has anywhere for afternoon tea. Delicious scones and an amazing variety of cakes to finish off.

We had a very good three course meal in the restaurant. Staff wonderful and food very good. Priced at £28.50 it is good value.

Comimos aquí para varias comidas. El buffet de desayuno era increíble pero las cenas eran un poco inconsistente. Comimos una vez en el bar, ya que no habíamos reservado en el restaurante y no podía entrar. Yo tenía pollo enviaron que todavía estaba congelada por dentro. Me dijeron que estaban muy apenados y me insistió en cocinar comida de toda una nueva cuando lo pedí para ir en el microondas, pero la segunda comida era similar y cruda por dentro, pero no tienen el corazón para quejarme de nuevo ya que el personal era muy agradable. Mi hija de cinco años y también tuve el té de la tarde con pasteles y sándwiches. Este fue bien presentada y bien presentada. El joven barman que tomó nuestra orden era genial con mi hija y nos fuimos a la cocina y regresó con algunos de sandía para ella como ella tenía una imagen de sandía en su camiseta. Ella estaba muy contento. Sus pequeños detalles como este que realmente haga una visita.

Reservamos una mesa para comer el domingo 15 de nosotros para un regalo de cumpleaños. Llegamos a encontrar el personal había decorado la mesa y crearon un ambiente de celebración.

El menú cambia ligeramente cada noche, con una buena selección. Comedor tiene nombres de ex-alumnos en paneles de madera. Menú fijo precio de 2 o 3 campos - relación calidad-precio razonable. Vino Blanco de Nueva Zelanda más de 30 libras por botella un poco caro para lo que te dan pero buen vino. Sirve comida muy rápidamente.

Hace cuatro años, vinimos aquí para la cena de San Valentín y fue magnífico. Esta vez. . Oh queridos.. Recepción en el restaurante muy normal. Nos llevaron a una mesa que estaba tan bien iluminada que estaba incómodo, así que pedimos que nos cambiaran. El restaurante era aún muy luminoso para lo que estaba destinado a ser una ocasión romántica y nos dijeron que las luces no tenía conmutador atenuador! Extraño que un rato más tarde las luces tenues. La única música que podía oír venía de la zona de bar con un montón de música bass fiesta sordo - apenas apropiado para la ocasión. Y las puertas de la cocina - por favor si podrían ser aceitados - loud crujió cada vez algunos, uno fue y. El ruido ambiental era demasiado alto para la ocasión. En el lado positivo, la comida era muy sabrosa, pero, por desgracia, sólo era cálido, no caliente. Los militares esta ocasión era normalito.

Nous y avons dîné en famille pour le réveillon de Noël. Le service est impeccable, serviable et décontracté. Les prix sont raisonnables y compris pour les vins (au total dans les 30 £ par personne pour un repas complet). La cuisine est excellente, de bons produits bien cuisinés. Pour le restaurant d'un hôtel Hilton avec golf, la fréquentation est familiale, c'est festif et sans façons.

Excellent food ,service and presentation in a charming resturant setting. The staff were very helpful and the gardens were lovely to view whilst you eat.

At the price for the set menu we were not expecting great food, but that is what we got. The dinner was excellent and the service very good.

We came to Hilton Avisford park Hotel for 2 nights. We ate both evenings at the restaurant. The deal for 2 courses or 3 courses is well priced. I would not call it a gourmet restaurant but the food was decent enough. I had starter and main, whilst my other half had main and dessert, so we could share respectively the starter and dessert with one another. We could not even finish the meal. On reflection the starter was a little non-plussed: Wild boar terrine and the Stilton and Leek whilst tasty were not exactly home made and looked liked something from Brakes Brothers. However, the mains were delicious, on both occasion I had the fish (cod loin in pancetta and pan fried sea bream) and was not disappointed. The wine selection was decent. Overall the Cedar provided a good eating experience.

Waited an hour for food and had to complain and threaten to leave in order to get it sorted out. Although the cost of the meal was waived it spoiled the evening. At no point was an explanation given.

We were booked in for dinner as part of the Hotel package but wouldn't choose to eat here again. Food unappetising, menu choice very limited and only changes once a week. only 2 vegetarian options. Service was slow

il ristorante é all'interno dell'hotel Hilton Avisford. La qualità del cibo é medio bassa, ho cenato da solo con un filetto - chiesto con cottura media - con delle chips. La carne era stracotta all'esterno, appena rosata al'interno. Sapore discutibile, cottura sbagliata e non proprio morbida. Le patate fritte dubito che fossero appena tagliate. il piatto era impiattato come alla "mensa" aziendale. insieme mi hanno portato (insieme = nello stesso piatto) dei funghi boliti, ancora grondandi acqua e 4 pomodoni al forno (questi erano saporiti). ho preso un bicchiere di vino per accompagnare il piatto, abbondante, ma diq ualitá bassa. dessert, scelta conservativa: torta al cioccolato con mousse al cioccolato bianco, avevo frainteso é arrrivato il classico tortino monoporzione di pasta con cuore al cioccolato e, da parte, la moussse al ciocolato biano, non una mousse era praticamente liquida. caffé per finire. Solo 50 pound.... io non ci tornerei, nessuna seconda occasione. dimenticavo il menú con 4 piatti principali 3 di carne e uno di pesce, e alcuni primi scimmiottati, tipo: "spaghettti bolognesa"é abbastanza povero. il servizio da dimenticare

This restaurant is within the Hilton Avisford Park near Arundel. The menu is not particularly large but it definitely covers all the bases with 4/5 appetisers and entrees plus a good range of steaks. The food is cooked very well. The service was good with very friendly and helpful waiting staff.

We have stayed at this Hilton hotel some time ago, the restaurant has changed since then.We opted to have our evening meal in the bar, as none of us were keen on the main menu.Both the bar and the restaurant were extremely busy, but, the service was good and the food was fine.We had breakfast in the restaurant, which we enjoyed, the food was hot, and there was a good choice.All in all it was good.

When staying at the hotel we decided to eat in one night, the restaurant was very busy with hotel guests and also a coach party.The service was very slow and the staff were under pressure and did not cope.The food was very nice, although we had to wait over 45 minutes for our starter and main course. The waitresses were very polite but the same could not be said for the senior staff in the restaurant who came across with a bad attitude

Lovely atmosphere, good service, and very good food. Located in what was once the assembly hall of a prep school, with the walls still covered with the school honour boards, the location and atmosphere are lovely. The menu is good, and the quality of the food is excellent. I recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.

Ordered drinks at the bar before going into the restaurant and had a good selection in my opinion. Being a Texan girl I ordered the Ribeye and was not disappointed was really well cooked and had good flavor. My fiancée ordered the mushrooms, with risotto and prawns and it was very nice as well. Cannot find fault with anything, was a really nice meal and the wait staff were very friendly. Would recommend if staying in the hotel.

We enjoyed our food here. Took a while to arrrive in the evening meal. But the lamb was scrumptious.

We had a superb meal which was well presented and superbly waited upon, The food was very tasty as was the amazing Breakfast, great quality and loads to choose from.

Good Food. Poor Wine List Few European wines. Were told we could not choose from the Bar menue in the restaurant, We had been eating off the Ala carte for three nights. Good service

Just all round good food good service and impeccable quality great for our mini honeymoon at the beginning of October

Had to sit in the lounge/bar area to eat but chose from the restaurant menu. Ordered steak and chips. Steak was good quality and well cooked but far too small for the £26 price tag (even for two females). Disappointed to not be able to get a table in the main restaurant area as we had booked FB on our first night for ease following a long journey to get to the hotel.On booking the hotel it should be possible to book a table at the same time or at least be advised to contact the hotel directly to book a place in the restaurant.Ate elsewhere on the second night of our stay as the previous night's experience wasn't repeat-worthy.

This restaurant always provides an superb variety and quality of food with excellent service. We have eaten here on many occasions and always been delighted.

Poor Service, Poor Poor Poor. Good Food but terrible staff.This is not what I expect. I don't expect to be ignored.

We booked to have dinner at the Cedar Restaurant and were very happy with the experience. The menu was interesting and our meals were very good. Our starters of salmon and pate were tasty and we both then ordered the vegetarian curry which was excellent. The staff were very attentive and overall it made for a very pleasant meal.

We've eaten here before and have not been very impressed with the food, but on our last stay the food was excellent and the service was swift.

Excellent food and wine the Pear Starter was very nice, Duck main was excellent and the cheeseboard was amazing. Breakfast was very nice perhaps lacked black pudding although there was enough choice and variety. It was a lovely breakfast, very nice surroundings and polite and helpful staff. Thank you.

First thing is that menu which is published on internet is not matching one in restaurant, which was quite disappointing. Food here is not great, boring pate and dry pork with even drier potatoes.On the other hand staff is very professional, especially young gentleman, I assume a supervisor as he was wearing suit. He recommended to us place in Arundel etc.

Now I'm not one to complain.....but..Rubbish foodExpensive bar billBut the service was good.I wouldn't bother..there are other good restaurants and bars in the area that charge less for better food and drink.The ceda restaurant has a limited menu. The menu although limited is confusing with supplements for steaks. I didn't understand when the supplements applied so I ordered fish.We were a party of 12 and to be fair I'm the one who had a bad experience but reading through the reviews may be the rest of my group were just lucky.The staff were very friendly and interacted with us.I ordered a haddock chowder as a starter and for anyone who doesn't know, the main ingredient of haddock chowder is haddock. I received dish water in a six to eight inch shallow bowl. The bowl was so shallow that when I placed my soup spoon in it, the spoon was still raised above the chowder. I ran my spoon through this mess looking for some solids but all I found was a yellow substance that clung onto the spoon. My wife asked if I was going to eat it, to which I replied "are you mad?" I left my starter and waited for my "Sea Bream". Does "Bream" come from anywhere else other than the sea? No matter I'm sure that this will be great!..not.My "Sea Bream" arrived. It was the most sorry impression of Bream that I have ever seen. My Bream was in 2.5 inches by 2 inches..or there abouts..it had no taste to it. On the side there were 4 may be 5 halved new potatoes, a dollop of spinach and a sauce boat. The plate appeared to be smaller that everyone else. You know, I don't mind paying for good food, I like good food but this is a case of buy cheap and sell expensive.One of my family had to complain about the the meringue (it was too hard) to which the waitress said that it had been a bad batch and they'd run out....a bad batch? A chef who buys in meringues? The ceda restaurant is part of the Hilton hotel and being that we'd already had a rubbish experience in the hotel I didn't really expect any great offerings from this restaurant. The ceda restaurant isn't somewhere that I would take anyone. I think that I would be embarrassed for anyone holding a business meeting or wanting to impress someone.

last night, had an excellent meal at this restaurant. My partner had a steak and I had swordfish. Both cooked to our individual likes. The White wine was very welcoming. Only two things were. 1. Only 12 others eating. And 2 they tried to charge us £14 instead of £53. When we told them this and they corrected it, they had the courtesy to fear us free coffees which we had. How many places do that now? Not many. We were not rushed and the service impeccable. Well done, Cedar.

Just had afternoon tea having booked it weeks ago.Arrived and shown to a reserved and ready laid table, laid that is with a dirty cup, which after two attempts was replaced with a clean one. We had to ask for the menu to find that it only shows the tea available. We have no idea what the sandwiches were as they were not described to us nor do we know what the cakes were. Surely they could have read the descriptions on the packets they had been decanted from! I've never shopped at Iceland but the quality of food served this afternoon was what I'd imagine you could buy from there.It didn't represent value for money in any event, I'm an afternoon tea fan and have enjoyed many for the same price but significantly better quality, but just to add to the disappointment an attempt was made to over charge us.Please don't ask me to contact you, you have our details from the booking we made.You have delivered the most disappointing birthday tea I've had in years.
