The staff are so friendly, the rooms are second to none and the food goes with out saying is amazing. I can't recommend the lamb enough.

Short & sweet review Extremely Good bits Staff were brilliant & all so friendly. All 4 of us has 3 courses & food was well presented & outstanding flavours. All 10 put of 10 To make it 11 out of 10 Melba toast or fresh rolls should be served with the soup as standard. We were given 4 pieces of Harissa bread as an aperitif & was yummy but the soup was served with nothing. My Lobster starter was amazing but would've been even better to have mopped up the bisque with an accompanying melba toast . The main entrance door is very low & I walloped my head on the way out & although was ok could have been injured ! So a suggestion of putting a cushion strip both sides. That would have prevented my bump . Even so we throughly enjoyed our evening thank you all.

Had lunch here and could not fault the meal or the service. We were a party of three. We ordered two steaks and one fish and chips. All meals were cooked to perfection and well presented. Will definitely return and can recommend.

A fabulous place. The food is first class, a cut above most. The staff are attentive and actually interested in their clients. Our only regret is the Lamb is so far from home!

What a great meal and pint of ale. If you are in the area it’s a must visit for lunch or dinner. Amazing staff both front and back of house.

We had a bowls club get together and meal here booked for an evening start time Cannot fault this place food was excellent ,staff were professional but friendly and the atmosphere was spot on. This was chosen for a club venue but can imagine this would also be a good location for couple's and small groups. Thanks again Lamb for a superb evening .

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to give 4.5 stars which would have been my preferred score. Stayed for 2 nights. The bed was huge with quality linen, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of space between the end of the bed and the wall of the ensuite. Whilst I happily accept that a traditional village Inn will never be cobweb free, I would expect them to be fresh cobwebs rather than the dusty ones on the ceiling. The staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was good. The menu included fruits and cereal but didn't actually say what fruits and cereal were available. The hot breakfast was well cooked, hot and nicely presented. Personally we would have preferred thicker/nicer bread for the toast. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food and service were faultless. It is worth remembering that the rooms are above what is clearly a popular pub and it can be noisy late at night. A very enjoyable stay.

My wife and I plus daughter and her partner have just spent 3 nights here. I could not recommend this country inn any higher. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the hospitality was spot on. We ate in the restaurant only on one evening as we were up for a wedding but the food was excellent. Breakfasts were plentiful and well cooked. However, what really made this stay so enjoyable were the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and really did everything possible to make sure we had everything we needed. In particular we would like to mention Lottie and Poppy who were bloody awesome. I really hope we have reason to have to stay in this area again.

This is my local so often pop down for a drink. Have eaten here once and the food was good. Lovely setting with outside tables but more tables outside would be a bonus. Friendly staff and great atmosphere inside when it's busy.

I had fish and chips. It was ok but a bit expensive at £17.50. The fish had skin on and I think it’s nicer to prepare it without. The mushy peas was just a small portion and I prefer with more mint flavour. The tartare sauce was not very flavoursome and more creamy like mayonnaise. Chips were fine but nothing special. All small details perhaps but it’s these differences with more attention to detail which would make it more worthy of the price. It needs to be special for this price and it just wasn’t. Nice and attentive staff.

Very nice pub set in a quaint village. Poppy is a lovely waitress and her colleague serving was, too; they worked hard during a busy lunchtime. Food absolutely delicious and very nicely presented. Good value for money. Dog friendly.

Exceptional and delicious! Absolutely outstanding menu and food preparation + presentation. Super helpful wait staff; our elderly family member was struggling to eat her menu choice, and a replacement was offered as soon as this problem was mentioned. Delicious ingredient combinations and beautifully plated. Even the tea and coffee were fab. Thank you!

My sister & I stayed overnight at The Lamb in Angmering on 1st-2nd June. It’s a local pub/B&B in a pretty country village. Our twin room was on the Ground floor & was perfect for our stay. It was clean, tidy not over crowded & the en-suite was 5*. The beds were comfortable & the tea tray well stocked. When booking our room we also booked for the evening meal & pleased we did, as the restaurant was busy. The breakfast & evening meal was certainly sufficient & nicely cooked. The staff were pleasant & honest, as I inadvertently left a pair of gold RL earrings, which were subsequently posted back to me. Thank you. We will return..

Every time we visit this pub the atmosphere is really good, staff really nice and helpful.

Went here for a company meal. Food was cooked well and the service was good. Staff were polite and helpful. There is a car park behind the main building, which is free to patrons. There are toilets available. The actual restaurant is separate from the main bar. All in all a pleasant evening.

I’m a very difficult customer. Having allergies and historically working as a hotel inspector, I’m difficult to please, it’s in my blood to be critical. On this occasion, Management I applaud you! Our whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The restaurant’s ambiance was relaxed, pleasant music not drowning conversations. Staff were attentive throughout the meal which itself was delicious. Our choices included potted prawns, salmon, chicken and steak. All cooked and presented beautifully. And a lovely touch in recognising my birthday with a dessert complete with candle, thank you. And the bill was pleasing on the wallet too! Shall we be returning…… absolutely

We have just come home from a wonderful stay here at The Lamb at Angmering, just as a night away from the kids and we absolutely LOVED it! We hardly ever write reviews but felt compelled to make it known how much we enjoyed this lovely place! The wonderful team were enormously welcoming, ESPECIALLY Lottie who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy, not to mention her lovely personality and inviting vibe that made her so easy to talk to! We were also very grateful to Gemma who enabled us to rearrange our initial booking when we needed to reschedule! The waiting staff were so professional, polite, smiley and efficient and the food was unbelievable and very reasonably priced considering the standard!!!!..I just wish I hadn't worn such a tight skirt which might have enabled me to fit in a pudding too. Breakfast was also delicious! The room was utterly perfect! A beautiful en suite and dressing room, TV and extremely comfortable bed, and that's without mentioning the delicious coffees from the personal coffee machine as well as a cheeky biscuit to enjoy too! We will absolutely be staying here again! Thank you!

Wonderful place! Our room was beautiful. We had a great bathroom with a roll top bath and a luxurious walk in shower. We had the unexpected benefit of having a separate sitting room as well. Dinner was delicious with lots of choices. Had the gorgonzola panna cotta to start followed by a risotto with chicken supreme. My husband had the wild mushroom tagliatelle followed by the cinnamon creme brulee. Our breakfast was great as well. Great scrambled eggs and salmon. Really friendly service and great location.

Once again we enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch at our favourite local. Love having the choice of roast meats and a wonderful selection of perfectly- cooked veg. It’s now our intention to visit more Sundays in 2024 - beats cooking a roast just for two!

Super evening at the Lamb once again. Service was excellent, food was sublime. Fish courses were really top notch. Restaurant was packed as usual, it easy to see why. Can’t wait to return.

We decided to go to the Lamb for a Valentine’s Day Dinner and had a lovely meal. All three courses on the set menu were cooked to perfection and delicious! The service was great too so a good night all round.

We regularly eat and stay at The Lamb. They use the finest of ingredients and have beautiful dishes which taste amazing. We have never been disappointed. The staff are so friendly and attentive and always make our time there feel special.

Booked table for 18.15. Restaurant cold,people wearing body warmers to keep warm? In February and no heating on? I had Plaice Mussels,shrips in a sauce described as bouillabisse but was almost tasteless, The shrimps had been cooked so long they were inedible. The romanesco cauli was raw,couldn't cut through it. The plaice was dry.The meal was ambitious but failed miserably. My wife had seared Tuna served with a portion of noodles with I think a ginger sauce. She said it was ok but the portion was really small,more like a starter? Cost £28?? Just such a shame as we have eaten in this restaurant before and always enjoyed our meal but something has changed? Did we complain No. Is there ever a point to complaining? Really? The chef knows what a fish sauce should taste like and this did not taste like a fish sauce. There is a difference between Al Dente and raw? I don't want a discount I just want to enjoy the meal I am eating.

We came here for a family roast. There was 13 of us and the service was good. Food was good too.

Our overall experience was excellent. The pub was very busy when we arrived and we were the first table in the restaurant which also filled up quickly. The setting is very smart village pub. The food and service were excellent. We will try the Sunday lunch next.

We've passed The Lamb on numerous occasions when we have been done to the coast but never had the opportunity to stop until last week. What a treat. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely fabulous, from the parsnip soup to the Creme Brûlée. We will definitely make sure we factor a stop there into our coastal visits from now on.

We often visit the restaurant in this lovely old inn when we are in the area and our recent visit proved the usual delightful and gastronomic experience. A warm welcome from front of house greeted my husband and I. We started with a drink in the cosy bar and browsed the menu and specials board before being shown to our table. The staff are a delight at The Lamb, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and how they are prepared. Their made in house soup is always a winner, husband had risotto and we followed with the most delicious pan fried Salmon with Asian flavours and a mouth watering Sirloin steak. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of Malbec which was served at the perfect temperature. Desserts of Panna Cotta and chef’s made in house ice cream were equally delightful. The bill was surprisingly reasonable for such quality cuisine. We hope to return again in spring/summer. I cannot recommend The Lamb highly enough.

The Christmas and New Year break gave us the opportunity to visit the South Coast again and to take in The Lamb. If anything, it's got better. First class food, delightful staff and comfortable surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Standard fare of simple pub food. Honest beer selection and friendly staff. Charming waitress who was lovely. Kind and considerate. Nothing too much bother. Possibly needs a spruce up with it looking slightly tired compared to years ago. I remember a lovely Christmas lunch there that was fabulous. Would probably return.

Service good. Roast beef was good but not a lot of it. Reasonable price for Sunday lunch. No real ale alternative Caffreys which did not have much taste.

In my review of Aug 4 ('Kitchen closes very early') I indicated my disappointment that the kitchen closes at 8pm on Sunday, which seemed disappointingly early for a summer's evening. In response I received a threatening personal message, and a public reply which criticises me on numerous counts. To reiterate:

Traditional pub in a delightful setting. Although extensively modernised it still manages to retain some of the olde worlde atmosphere. The pictures of the pub and the village in bygone times around the bar is a nice touch. Friendly welcome from the staff and beer was fine. Would certainly return here, thanks for your hospitality.

This was an aweful meal, the beef was overlooked , the fish was under cooked/raw and was returned. The staff were not attentive, and barely apologetic for such poor performance.

How this place gets so many good reviews is beyond me. This is our third visit and each time it’s been less than satisfactory.

We went here a few years ago and it was a lovely country village pub which served home cooked pub food, this time the pub is obviously run by a manager and has been changed to a fine dining establishment, The starters came on huge plates with a small indent for the food which looked and tasted pretty average, the main courses faired no better, tiny portions the sea bass was not fresh and tasteless, the lamb shoulder again was a tiny portion and not very nice, as were the pork and burger. and as for the extra seasonal vegetables, I don't class sugar snap peas and baby sweatcorn as seasonal, The dessert were equaly as disappointing again tiny portions and all obviously bought in, We didn't like children sitting at the bar area or dogs in the resturant while we are having lunch.If you are not hungry and want to pay well over the top for pretentious bistro food then go here. we will not be back

This is our local, and we are lucky to have it.We had a 3 course meal for 3, and the flavours were great, as well as the wine. The staff were friendly, and although there were no Christmas crackers laid out for diners, the clearly could see that our son who is 10, would appreciate this, so they brought some out (a nice touch)I know less is more, but just from a personal view, perhaps in the future the portions may be made slightly larger, as we ended up bulking up our mains with a side order of vegetables. On the later note and just for chef feedback and improvement, the carrots were soggy and over cooked, but the rest were fine.We finished with coffee lattes, but were slightly disappointed that there no treat or biscotti with it. A simple thing to include and would have rounded everything off perfectly.Lastly, the staff were very busy working hard that night, and due to this we were given someone else's bill of around £36, which clearly was no where near the £120 plus we were expecting. We heard someone say they would pay the first bill and go. This is not our style or the right thing to do. We live in the village and believe in supporting local businesses and their staff. Keep up the good work, don't slack and keep reviewing and acting on some of the feedback.

Visited several times, mostly just for drinks.However the one occasion I ate there, the Sunday roast was extremely poor to say the least. Its nice to sit outside with a drink on a sunny day but beyond that it's sothing particularly special.

Staff seem rather cold and only interested in taking your money. Expensive drinks for the area. Food is good and well presented, but with a bit of an air of pretentiousness.

This place is quite nice, food and drink good although quite expensive. Probably the most expensive in the area. The one real negative is how obnoxious the owner is. Speaking to grown couples like children. We asked for additional chairs outside which the staff gave us. Only for the owner to come out shouting and balling within minutes at us. This is one place I will never return to.

If you want a classy night out, don't go to the pub! The food is fatty, orange and very ordinary...food served on the sizzling metal "plate" keeps cooking for a few minutes...so a medium steak becomes well done before you know it! The steaks are cheap cuts, grissly and small. Its good for burgers...
