Had a lovely welcome and gave us a table 2 had half barbecue chicken and chips etc which was a large portion of food excellent value for money. Noticed other meals which was the same good size. Very lovely restaurant area this was our 2nd visit whilst in the area and both times excellent if you want good food and good portions then I would highly recommend also has a large car park opposite on other side of the road.

Lovely lunch with our family, food great, service great too. Very friendly . Reasonably priced. One of our new favourites. 😀

Arrived at this pub with my dad brother and son was greeted with a wonderful bubbly bar lady great service great laugh happy for us to play pool and darts good discount between 3-5 at the bar we will be back we as a family live local and have had many nights and family events here in the past today was a great welcome on a wet and horrid day thankyou after our tackle shop visit was closed haha cheers x

Every aspect was on point! A the whole pub looked beautifully festive, and we’d booked the whole restaurant for our private party. The service was superb, fabulous atmosphere, 35 of us ranging in ages mid 20’s- late 50’s. We opted for two course, either starter & main or main & pudding on pre orders, excellent choices cooked to perfection & served to the table plan with no mistakes. The bear gave us choices of live singers or a Dj & We opted for a DJ who organised a great playlist and had the party rocking till midnight! Highly recommend this venue to supply the full Package tailored to your every need! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were staying at church farm down the road and wanted to go out for a pub lunch. This place was AMAZING! We phoned up the day before to book a table for 8 people. We had our dog with us and it was great that we were allowed to take him into the restaurant area with us too. The welcome was lovely and service was great throughout. The food was our of this world, it was so tasty and all freshly cooked. We had starters and mains but they also do a variety of desserts too. I would 100% recommend this pub

We ordered half a chicken and steak pie ,both soon arrived .The chicken was ok but I do not like small little bits of chips , I prefer whole chips not like the small bits I had .The steak pie was large with mash and veg ,the meat could have done cooking a little more to make it more tender.

Visited Saturday evening, wonderful meal, food was exceptional, the pork belly was amazing and my sister had the lamb and this was also incredible.

On Friday 18th August at 13.00pm went to the bear pagham.we are regulars at this pub.but today the guy behind the bar had a terrible attitude.i asked what lager do you have instead of Stella and kronenbourg.he looked at me and said I don't know I don't drink.then just walked away and served another customer.he really had terrible attitude towards hes customers.i hope the bear sort this out otherwise will land up losing regular customers.the women who served are food was very polite and food was good.

Booked here for a Saturday night meal welcomed by friendly staff the food was really nice the cod was large and thick and very nice along with the other meals scampi, ham egg chips etc , it’s really nice pub grub and will return when next in the area

Another amazing meal at The Bear. We always book on a Saturday evening when we come down for a break as they have entertainment. The menu choice and quality of food is fantastic and everyone enjoyed there meal. I had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection. The menu selection is wide and varied which is sometimes a concern but here is good as everything we have ever had is nice. I would highly recommend this place and we will always come here as the food is fantastic, the service is great and the singers good.

First time back in 50 years! Still a great homely pub food was fantastic homemade burgers steak pies looking at other tables all meals excellently presented and large portions.Staff very efficient to our needs will definitely return .Won’t leave it so long this time.5stars

I really could not fault anything with our evening at The Bear Inn. We received excellent service from start to finish and the extensive menu did not disappoint. The food was to a really high standard, freshly cooked and delicious. I can't wait to our next visit but would advise to book early!

Seated on time with a chair with arms as requested for my Dad.Service was good.Starters of white bait a good portion with tartare sauce very nice.Unfortunately the roast dinners came with masses of different veggies and drenched in gravy. This might be good for some but with leeks in cheese sauce and a bread like substance under the roast beef plus swede ,peas, parsnips all mixed up together it was a bit of a shambles and ruined what would have been a good meal.Please think of putting your veg in separate dishes which you can serve yourself from thus leaving behind the veg you don't like and a little less gravy so you can see what you are eating.Plus side it was piping hot although the pub was a bit cold !No gluten free options either.

A group of six of us enjoyed a very nice meal to celebrate a birthday at The Bear. Four of us had half chicken with bbq sauce, chips, salad and coleslaw, one had lasagne and one had a vegetarian stroganoff. Staff were polite and attentive. All staff wearing face coverings and the place felt safe. Clear signage throughout. From my initial call to make the booking to the end of the evening a great time had by all.My only negative comment, however, is that a customer seated in the restaurant area (but not eating) was vaping!! My group found it extraordinary that this was permitted inside the pub at any time, but especially during Covid restrictions!! There is inconclusive evidence that passive vaping COULD be harmful. It not only looks horrible with great plumes of smoke, but smells awful. We did not raise a complaint because 1 - the staff were extremely busy and 2 - did not want to make a fuss as it was a birthday celebration. Apart from that, all good.

We booked very last minute for a Sunday lunch and were so pleased the Bear were able to accommodate us. The service was attentive and faultless, the food was excellent and we had a lovely, lovely time. Thank you to all at the Bear, you made our lunch perfect - can't wait to come back!

Brilliant food! We went on a Sunday for lunch as a group of six including kids. We had roasts (pork and a nut roast), fish and chips and burgers. All the food was excellent and really well presented! I was particularly impressed with my nut roast...often the veggie options for roast dinners are poor, and not terribly imaginative, but this was delicious. It looked lovely and tasted even better! We will definitely be back. Also felt very safe from a covid POV. Track and trace in operation and everyone wearing masks.

We’ve eaten at The Bear three times in the last fortnight with various family members being on holiday. The food is consistently well above average and easily both the best value and quality around. The pub immediately next door is far pricier and food much inferior. Sunday roasts are terrific and there is a huge selection of starters and mains. Things do run out such as the Shepherd’s Pie yesterday which is to be expected. The only criticism we had was the ice cream in the sundaes felt a bit ‘budget’, which is a minor complaint when the homemade puddings are as good. The Bear is a local gem and we will continue to support them as we can in these difficult times for the hospitality industry.

The landlord and and landlady are smashing it in regards to filling every1 with confidence r.e covid.....Sod covid....back 2 a good old fashioned review....all we can say is WOW...WOW...WOW!!! SERIOUSLY, the food here nearly matches the welcome!! Thank you both ❤❤❤

Revisit following our last Positive lunch experience. The staff and managers are working hard to ensure everyone is safe and being COVID secure. Evidence of regular cleaning, use of face masks by all and plenty of sanitiser.The menu has continued to expand, with expected pub grub meals, plus the chefs specials. Our family all opted from the wide choice of the chefs specials and we weren’t disappointed! Great quality, huge portions and very tasty. This pub continues to impress and is outstanding with what has to offer. Keep up the good work Team Bear!
