After a morning visit to Bogna Regis, we wanted something a little out of town for lunch. Found the Oak on Google maps and decided to give it a try. It was a midweek lunchtime so very few customers, which suited us perfectly as we have a quite excitable dog. We both had a lovely Brie, Bacon and cranberry baguette (£7.50) and a pint. The barmaid was lovely and very attentive to us and our dog. Would definitely visit again if we didn't live 100 miles away.

A very tired looking pub both inside and out, desperately in need of a good paint job. Staff were OK, food not good. Fish and chips were overcooked and a prawn cocktail was not chilled. Go there if you have to but otherwise avoid.

Despite having lived nearby for four years, we only ventured into this pub on our way back from a day out as it was just by the bus stop - what a fantastic choice it proved to be. Super staff and the best pub meal we've had in years! It might be a lurid pink on the outside but inside you will have a true old fashioned British pub experience. The only regret is that we've never tried it until today.

We had a lovely family meal at the Pink Pub for lunch. I used the voucher I won at bingo, including a bottle of wine. I had the tomato soup to start and salmon for main. My husband had potato skins to start and steak for main. Our little one shared our starters and had chicken nuggets and chips. Emma our waitress was lovely, friendly and chatty. I was able to swap my potatoes for chips and our son had salad instead of beans or peas. A great choice of condiments and friendly service. Will return, would have stayed longer and had dessert but our little one was under the weather. Thank you xxx

The Royal Oak is affectionately known as the pink pub because of its vibrant exterior paint. We only popped in for a swift pint but found it full of character, plenty of nicknacks and lots of photos from their charity fundraising events.

This was our 2nd visit for Sunday Roast meal. Our 1st visit about 6 weeks back and was absolutely lovely. As first visit really enjoyed thought let's go again. Sadly our 2nd visit wasn't the same meat was fine, sadly the rest of the veg wasn't as nice carrots seemed no taste, cauliflower still quite hard, both boilt and Roast potatoes not much taste either. Will try again soon, as know depends when have a small place as worked in pubs myself in the past, Depends on stock from suppliers given and also sometimes different staff at times and have different ways how prepare and cook.

A lovely Olde pub known as 'The Pink Pub'. The food is all home cooked and is delicious 🤗 (Best to book a table). Although you can eat in the public bar. Meals are an average of £12+. The only downside is the price of drinks😬 (£4.70 for a pint of Fosters). A tad expensive 😬

Went for an all-day breakfast not realising I wouldn't get it before 12.40. When it came it was awful. I could have drunk the eggs and the bacon was woeful. It might have seen the pan for a minute or so but I don't think further cooking would have improved this blubber. Shan't be going back.

Went to treat myself for breakfast which I eventually received at 12.40. Possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had whilst dining out. I could have drunk the eggs and the bacon was awful. If it spent more than a minute in the pan I would be surprised but nevertheless, even further cooking such blubber wouldn't necessarily have redeemed it. Good mushrooms is all I can say. I am just fortunate that the double act from the pub's own Statler & Waldorf managed to take my mind off things to a certain extent.

Been here plenty of times for both lunch & early dinner. Food stops at 6.30pm. You can get both normal & small size portions if you're not a big eater. Lunch choices as well as hot pub food is baguettes etc. Not a massive area to eat in, 7 or 8 tables I think, but possible space in garden to eat in the summer, although I've never done this & on one occasion we overflowed into drinking area as food area full. Separate drinking bar to eating area (only a very small area to drink in only, in the eating area when food is available). Obviously at 6.30pm tables are cleared in the food area to become seating for drinks & chatting. Lots of locals attend here, definitely busy when we went on a Friday. Lovely staff. Yummy food. We had sweet & sour chicken, chicken & mushroom with pots & veg, egg & chips plus puds of ice cream, sticky toffee pud, cheesecake.

Visited as it was the only pub in the area with a table. We soon found out why. Let's face it, it's a Fuller's pub so you know your not going to get great food. The burger was over cooked and the bun, I'm still laughing about it! It was more like a rusk than a bun, crunchy and dry. The veg with the other meal was old and reheated. That said, the beer is good and the staff pleasant. They did refund one meal and probably would have refunded both if I wanted but it's been a long time since poor food has made me chuckle like that.

Presentation, Produce, Portions, Price... Perfect! Returned from a profitable (if rainy) day out at Fontwell races and decided to celebrate with a meal and drinks at The Royal Oak, since we had visited for refreshments the previous evening and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Five of us enjoyed a variety of mains - lamb's liver with bacon and onions, lasagne and chicken curry. Each meal looked beautiful - wished I'd taken photographs - and there was no scrimping on the portion sizes. All of us agreed our dishes were cooked to perfection. A goodly number of bottles of shiraz and several Amstels washed it all down. The icing on the cake was when the proprietress tracked me down to return £20 I had overpaid (my mistake). Thoroughly decent, honest touch to round off the evening. Would highly recommend.

Locals are loathe to share the secret of this pink pub by the roundabout. It is as old fashioned inside as out but the food is really good. All home made old fashioned , filling food with no peculiar ingredients with funny names. Lasagne, curry, mince etc and the puddings are just like the ones you might have had at any good school years back - apple and blackberry crumble, sponge pudding etc. Good friendly service and very good prices just add to the advantages. One tip : have the small portion unless you really have a large appetite! It's more than enough and will leave room for the pudding. Large car park entrance off Chichester Rd.

Waited a long time to have our order taken. Two parties that arrived after us had their orders taken first. Was almost scorned at for just ordering drinks, when the venue is called a cafe????? Plenty of staff not doing much, toilets dirty with no loo roll. Pot of tea wasn’t too bad and the price was reasonable. Lovely sea view!

Went today for a couple of coffees, after waiting 5 minutes some young guy who had been folding napkins eventually wandered over looking most disinterested. I asked for 2 coffees and he said ' can't do hot drinks '. No apology or reason why. Needless to say with 2 other places nearby, West Park and The Waverley, where you feel welcome will not be coming back here.
