Popped in for a coffee and light snack recently with my sister. Coffee was perfectly acceptable, and no complaints with a toasted sandwich, however, the cheese scone that my sister had was less than fresh, very dry and stale tasting. Unlikely it was fresh that day.The service and decor wasn’t very welcoming, the paintwork looked as tired as the lady behind the counter! The feeling we had was that she’d given up on the place (if she was the owner). There is much potential for a lovely quaint village tearoom, it needs a good lick of paint and a few smiles to cheer it up.......and fresher food.Unlikely we’d return for a second visit

Visited for lunch 11th Dec 2018 with my daughter, we both had sandwiches and pots of tea. The sandwiches were very nice with side salad but far too expensive. My further complaint is that the establishment needs a coat of paint, the toilet is very scruffy and in my opinion dirty, the door to the entrance of the cafe either needs a good wash or failing that a paint not very inviting. We visited back in the summer and sat out the back which was an absolute shambles very scruffy and we hoped this second visit the decor would have improved but to no avail hence we will not be going again.

We took a ride through this very quaint village and spotted this little cafe and decided to come back for lunch. We came back on a Saturday, my husband went up to the counter to order us both a Ploughman’s, but the answer was ‘no cheese’. So he looked at the board and then asked if we could have the advertised ‘quiche’ instead - ‘no quiche’ came the reply. So I decided that we’d have jkt potatoes filled with chicken and bacon. Order was taken, my husband came and sat down, then we were approached with a message from the kitchen that they only had one baked potato - could we share it? No, this was lunchtime and I was hungry so my husband ended up with salad and a sausage roll from the display cabinet. Then while we were eating ‘the lady from the kitchen’ came out to say ‘goodbye’ to either friends or family that had been sat there but didn’t even ‘attempt’ to come over and apologise for the lack of choices/food etc. So if this lady was ‘Julia’ - personally I think it was very poor customer service!!!Also ‘no’ we won’t be returning!!!

Went in to day 17th July for lunch, whilst rest of group waited outside. My phone had died and I asked if I could plug in my charger with mine whilst we had lunch and was told "sorry we cannot do that here". I walked off and spent my money elsewhere. Come on, if you are making that much money that you want to turn away lunch customers who want their phone charging then make millions showing others how you are so financially successful to turn people away. I was very upset as all I wanted to do was have a lovely lunch and get phone charged for directions home. The local pub was happy to take my £80. Take a reality check.

We had lunch here, as my friend found this little cafe while driving through the little village, and thought we would check it out. We were glad we did. The shabby chic interior is delightful and the cafe is clean and well laid out. The pies and cakes on display are tempting and the menu is great. The staff were friendly and courteous. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very good. We had the toasted sandwiches which were generously filled, with tortilla's, salad and coleslaw... very filling and delicious. Parking is available out front but is on a 'first come basis'. There is a little enclosed area out the back to sit if you would like. The tea is served by the lovely old tradition of 'in a pot' (lovely) We are definitely going to return and this time with friends. see you soon

We visited these premises late one lunch time with the boyfriend. At first sight it looked like a cute little café but the longer we sat there the less impressed I became. The food was good quality. I had the cream tea and my boyfriend ordered the bacon and brie sandwich. It was all tasty as you would hope. Although perhaps a little pricey (which I don't mind paying if I didn't have the following to say). The table cloths looked slightly scruffy. They looked unironed. I get that a café gets messy after a busy lunchtime but the creases don't lie. Also the same fabric was used just as messily in food fridge /cabinet. More disappointing was the tea pot my tea was served in. Towards the end of the pot, odd brown bits were coming out and the more I looked the more I saw brown residue in the pot and at the end of the spout. I don't think I'd return even though it could be my ideal café.

This is one of our favourites for a good breakfast. The staff, in my experience, have always been welcoming and cheerful. Being in the heart of a village, there are lots of different characters to meet and chat to.I have been for tea and cake with friends and was slightly disappointed with the cakes. They didn't appear to be homemade and they all tasted much the same, just with different toppings. The place could do with a lick of paint and some updates - it has a lovely shabby chic decor but it is now looking a little tired.Other plus points are: the courtyard garden for good weather, easy parking and dogs are welcome. We pulled into Findon village on route back from Worthing seaside looking for a place to stop for a drink. It was sign-posted off the A24 so we thought we would take a look. Once driving through the small streets we spotted the cafe (so don't be put off by driving a little way through the windy streets), we parked near the church and took a tiny stroll. Once inside I was like a kid again, it is a lovely English cafe, with fabulous decor, I just wanted to make my kitchen look like it!! Warm and friendly welcome from the staff. We only stopped for a drink (tea and coffee) but with my addiction to scones, we had to test them out (lovely!) But then I had food envy as the cake slices looked amazing, large and definitely full-filling. I could relax here for the afternoon, read a book, have a few slices of cake and many pots of tea. Prices are average for such a unique cafe. If their cakes are good, no doubt their breakfasts are too....I must return to try. Recommended for a chilled afternoon or a quick stop. Thank you.

A warm welcome on a wet and blowy day in early November. We walked down from the Iron Age hill fort at Cissbury Ring to Findon. The three of us had hot, well cooked fresh tomato and basil soup with good crunchy brown bread. The cakes are so good we followed this up with a slice or two of the fine sponges on offer, both delicious. The tea and coffee needs some attention. It would be easy to invest in good leaf tea and to know what a 'flat white' was. Nevertheless, a good lunch for only about £20 for three.

I had been so excited to visit Julia's Kitchen after moving to Findon last year. Walking in was a bit confusing as to whether you sat down and ordered or went up to order, no-one acknowledged you as you walked in. Me and my boyfriend had full English breakfasts and 2 x coffee. The bacon and sausages are purchased from the butchers in Findon which is really good but unfortunately the bacon wasn't cooked enough and the sausage was a bit too much for a breakfast it tasted like a dinner sausage and mash type sausage. The hash browns were very soggy and tasted cheap. The tomato was too hard and not that warm. For nearly £15 it could have been a lot better and the staff a little more friendly.

The first table we sat at was covered in crumbs so we moved to another which was slightly better. I ordered a chocolate milk which came up full of bits, and with a black hair attached to the bottom of the glass. I also ordered scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast which looked amazing. I was therefore horrified when I tipped out the scrambled egg to find another hair. I took this to the counter and told the woman who said she would replace it. I told her not to worry. My partner ate his breakfast and when he went to pay the same lady kindly informed us that she would not be charging for my breakfast. I could not believe the cheek of her comment, so, unless you don't mind hair in your food and dirty floors and tables in addition to rude staff, steer well clear of this place.

If the weather's nice you can also sit out at the front or in the little back courtyard. We returned for a second visit the other day and certainly hope to go again soon!

We were booked in at the hotel across the road and having being recommended by The Stay Findon we chose to have a traditional full English breakfast before heading home. Initially we thought at £5.50 a head (four of us) we thought it was a tad expensive but on receipt of 2 bacon, a sausage, egg, beans, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, hash brown and 2 wholemeal slices of toast! ... it was value for money. The food is cooked fresh to order, so make sure you allow time to dine .. it is well worth the wait. Hospitality is excellent. There is a small amount of seating just out the back and front of the restaurant.

We were staying opposite, and only had breakfasts here. But what a lovely little venue....very friendly staff and lovely decor.Decorated in shabby chic design and lovely and fresh. During the heatwave in July we were able to have breakfast out in the courtyard-which was lovely. The food was plentiful and very tasty,a little bit more than we usually pay but worth it.Its situated in a quaint, quiet little hamlet but seemed to be quite busy.

A traditional English Tea Rooms/Cafe with homemade cakes in abundance and a good offering of savoury items, some homemade, with a selection of salad garnishes. There is also a good selection of traditional sandwiches and other light lunch items on offer. The coffee and tea selection is also good.

Left it to the last minute for sunday lunch then remembered this pub, had one cancellation so managed to fit two of us in. Staff really welcoming, the atmosphere was lovely like stepping back in time in this beautiful old pub , had a table in the restaurant, one roast beef & one pork belly which we couldnt fault, a lovely selection of vegetables, followed by two Apple crumbles & custard complements to the chef. We will definatly be back soon. Thankyou.

Went today for a couple of coffees, after waiting 5 minutes some young guy who had been folding napkins eventually wandered over looking most disinterested. I asked for 2 coffees and he said ' can't do hot drinks '. No apology or reason why. Needless to say with 2 other places nearby, West Park and The Waverley, where you feel welcome will not be coming back here.

Oh my what a pie! Probably the best steak and ale pie I’ve ever had. Pics of half eaten pie (I couldn’t wait) and lasagne. Great food, great draught beer and great service. Key lime pie for pudding , perfection.
