Var en tur i Calverley Grounds for en gåtur og da der kom en regn byge valgte vi at gå ind i denne lille hyggelig cafe. Her er servering både inde og ude. Hyggelig typisk engelsk.

First time we have been but it won't be the last. Good range of light bites for lunch (I can certainly recommend the All-day Veggie Breakfast) drinks, ice creams and very friendly helpful staff. Only assistance dogs allowed inside but they are allowed at the outdoor tables, which have good views across Calverley Grounds. Ample portion sizes and good value for money.

This is an amazing cafe with huge portion sized dishes. We had a kids size cheeseburger and chips and sausage and chips and I had bacon and egg on toast with tea and two soft drinks and the price was only £10.15. They are really friendly and compared to most cafes or coffee shops in Tunbridge wells I can honestly say that this is extremely value for money. It’s also in a lovely area. Definitely recommend!

We found this by accident while watching the ice-skating yesterday evening in Calverley Ground. Situated in a long wooden cabin and well equipped with practical tables and chairs, it offers plenty of choice and the staff are welcoming. We were so impressed we came back the next morning for the all day breakfast! The prices are very reasonable and you get plenty on your plate. Well worth a visit, seating outside too.

Nicely positioned close to the centre of town and in a nice park the food is pretty standard greasy spoon and cafe fare. Its in expensive and food was served quickly. You might meet your mates there after a night out but you wouldn't go on a date.

Located in the middle of the park, which makes it an ideal place to sit and relax. they open most of the day for breakfast, and lunch. Most of the seating area is outside which makes it very popular during sunny days. They serve good drinks, and food at very reasonable prices.

This place could be quite nice but there are improvements needed. We approached the building which looked nice, but inside it was a bit downmarket. The staff member serving could brighten up a bit but they were basically ok. The tea was quite unpleasant (and was just plonked down with a teabag bobbing and we were left to finish making it ourselves) and the coffee was average. We had cakes which were ok. We had to ask for a tray which was greeted as a strange request but one was supplied. They need to tidy up the outside seating area a bit and present the food a bit better. Some items were mislabelled, I don't believe there is such a thing as a Bakewell flapjack, it was a tart which had probably been taken from a box and then wrapped in cling film. On the bright side, the prices were reasonable and the establishment seemed clean enough.

Calverly Cafe. Tunbridge Wells.Always a welcome in this, at times, hectic and a bit worn friendly park cafe tucked away opposite the station in the centre of town. The team are really nice and the popular fry up, in my case eggs chips & beans with a mug of tea is excellent and very reasonably priced.Only critism a while back they stopped making their own chips, however after several trials the ones they now use are an ok substitute. ( I guess it just got too busy to peel & chip their own spuds)Their (scoop) ice cream with plenty of flavours to choose from is just yum! Always a generous scoop and just the right consistency. (ie not frozen solid)Sitting outside in the summer and winter is joyous. Plenty of seating and there's always the grass if you want to feel more connected to mother earth. Importantly there's plenty of space to keep an eye on the kids if they feel the need to want to go wild running about.Shame there isnt a kids playground. But you can always bring a ball or toy or the children just join in with other kids playing. If your on your owm no need to feel uncomfortable, staff will stop for a chat ( if not too busy) strangers pass the time of day and there's plenty of people watching and changing of seasons going on outdoors.

I have walked past here on a number of occasions & wanted to try this café Very friendly server at counter .I ordered full english breakfast which consisted of 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 fried eggs, baked beans & 2 rounds of toast. I could have had chips if I had wanted too in lieu of toast The server, who I think was the cook too, became busy after serving me with food deliveries & customers, so I was very pleased that my breakfast was not overcooked and eggs done to perfection. Average quality overall Cappuccino-small and warm, rather than hot. However setting very good and friendly service so overalI would rate experience as good

Having lived across the road we often popped in for a quick snack/lunch. I was shocked at my last visit. The burger was deep fried and the Ham egg and chips saw the ham come up as thin, gristle like cheap ham. Awful. Furthermore the staff are abrupt and unfriendly. Such a shame!

Visited here a few times came today with my dog and a friend. It was fairly chilly but seeing aw we had the dog we sat outside and ordered food and drinks. Then I noticed 2 ladies come out of the cafe with their small dog that they were carrying. I asked if I could bring my dog in too. The reply was "no, we don't allow dogs inside the cafe" Hang on a minute, what about the 2 ladies that just left that had a dog with them? "That was a guide dog" A small dog that she was carrying was a guide dog, are you being serious? "Yes she said it was a guide dog" Even though she carried it out in her arms, you think that was a guide dog? "Well she said she would keep it quiet in the corner" Ok , I'll keep my dog quite in the corner"No you can't bring your dog in" The food then arrived but we left without eating even though we paid for it. This place has the worst customer service. Either you accept dogs or you don't. It's not difficult. But to discriminate on a case by case scenario is just unprofessional. I will never return to this place!

Overall a good place for a natter! The setting is lovely, the prices are grate, the food is good, nothing fancy, a lot like you would make at home for yourself. Good selection of food. Tosties, jackets and sandwiches. If there is something you would like to change in the dish you want, no problem. Being a vegetarian the only choice really is something with cheese. Pescaterian something with tuna and cheese. If your vegan bring your own milk. And i believe they would be fine with making up something for your taste.

I made my first visit to this cafe recently expecting great things from the reviews I had read on here, but was to be hugely disappointed. My main criticism is that, amongst the long list of set breakfasts, there are none for vegetarians (and this, in a fairly 'progressive' town such as Tunbridge Wells, is quite surprising). The person behind the counter did say he could 'put something together' from some of the items in the other set menus, but this would have been using a veggie burger (the only vegetarian meal offered) as the basis of the breakfast - and a burger is not what I want for my breakfast at 11.30 in the morning! Why no vegetarian sausages at least? It's not that difficult to provide a standard fixed price set vegetarian breakfast of eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes, toast, etc., but the thought seems to have escaped this cafe altogether. Also, the cafe does not have its own toilets. Customers have to leave their meal and make the long trek back to the public toilets at the entrance to the park, and then trek all the way back again. Not good and very inconvenient if you'll excuse a bad pun.The much vaunted 'view' consisted of a huge muddy bog on the lawns directly below the outside seating and little in the way of attractive landscaping in the surrounding area. Possibly there is a more colourful and inspiring view in mid-summer but I’ve seen better in local parks elsewhere on my travels.Altogether a less than positive experience, and as I know other establishments in the town that do have a decent range of set vegetarian breakfasts at a reasonable price, I doubt I'll be going back.

Man did i need a cold drink after doing Tunbridge Wells many hills in the sun. To find this lovely cafe was like coming across an oasis. Normally park cafes are either totally overpriced and or serve poor tea and coffee in polystyrene cups and serve poor sooty food. This was neither. Prices were very reasonable and the food was varied and good value.

Great place to drop into if you want a quick cup of coffee (and/or snack). The service is quick and friendly and the coffee is good. You can either drink it in your vehicle or at the outdoor tables (with good views across the surrounding countryside), as long as it's not raining or cold.
