Visited recently for the first time and was impressed, no long queues after placing your order like in Costa etc, all staff are young and very helpful & pleasant. This is how a cafe should be run, Yesterday visited the Reading Cafe, same level of service received, we had to amend our order after sitting down, it was no problem for them at all and we were made to feel again nothing is too much trouble. Got home and looked into the Company, they focus on employing the right people & training them. Well done for doing this, your doing the right thing from the top down to the shop floor, If there’s a Boswells near me wherever I am that’s where I will be spending my money. 🙏😁

Fabulous jacket spud with lashings of tuna not swamped in mayo, home made coleslaw and the best cup of tea in town. Friendly service. Why go anywhere else

Very good service and food BUT the eggs cooked on the griddle first thing (opening time) are black underneath because the griddle is not cleaned sufficiency the nightbefore, I do promote Boswells frequently, so Please sort out this problem

This cafe is really nice and spacious. They have a big menu which includes lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The coffee is really good and generously sized and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff at boswells NEWBURY are ALWAYS welcoming especially BEAM she is always welcoming. The staff always GO THAT EXTRA MILE.

A spacious restaurant to eat in which nice and clean. Food choice was good and staff were happy to plate as customer requests. Didn't feel rushed as order taken.

The best cup of decaf flat white in Newbury. Comfortable seats. Music a bit too loud for me however you can sit outside in the shopping centre bit, which is nice. Toilets a bit cramped. The staff were fab, busy but service with a smile, food tasty, fresh, and cakes if you wish, my favourite Lemon shortbread cheesecake, not sickly, very moreish. Children welcome there, smoothies for them.

Slick service from really nice people. Our sandwiches can quickly and were just what we needed, with quality bread and ingredients. The place was clean, tidy and the staff were excellent. Good break from shopping, and convenient for the cinema.

I have visited Boswells on a few occasions and the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is really good well recommend to friends and family

Use the toilets at this establishment and wash your hands, no hot water full stop, try drying York hands, the rubbish drier keeps stopping and despite continually moving hands the drier cuts out. Certainly not conscious of health and safety!

Popped in for a vegetarian breakfast. The food was freshly cooked, the cafe was spotlessly clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful. What more could you want? It was also lovely to see so many people who were obviously regulars; staff knew their first names and chatted with them as though they were family. A great little spot and I'll be back. Customer service as it should be but very hard to find these days

What a drop in quality. I came for breakfast recently and was really impressed, even thanking the owner on the way out. Came back this morning and was excited to order an English breakfast. Overcooked sausages, bacon like leather that you could barely cut through (it seemed to be reheated), eggs with a horrible crispy base and mostly solid yokes. Toast was overcooked, almost like cracker read, one piece was actually burnt, I asked for the bread not to be cut in half and they forgot, so my breakfast got cold waiting on a replacement. I ordered a latte and what I got was barely milky at all. Honestly, only the beans were passable. This was disappointing and grim. To top it off, this joint is NOT cheap. What a fall from grace.

Normally love Boswells, thought we would try the one in Newbury. Waited along time by the counter, with many staff doing other things other than wanting to serve us. Very bland paninis Caramel shortbread was the only saving grace on this vist this time around.

Stopped for a coffee & snack for my grandson also had granddaughter in pram. Staff provided jug of hot water for babys bottle feed and carried our tray to our table, making sure my young grandson was seated safely away from anything hot. I felt the staff went above and beyond what was expect of their service. Would reccomend them as a safe venue for people with young children.

I was in Newbury town centre and found Boswells in a fairly quiet shopping centre. The restaurant looked presentable so I took the plunge. Staff were nice and my order was taken straight away. The breakfast was good and delivered promptly. The covid precautions were being taken seriously with track and trace forms being handed out which are placed in a box after completion. Overall: clean, friendly, efficient and good value for money with a pleasant ambience.

Dropped in for my first visit in Newbury with family on a Sunday. looking forward to a nice coffee and a bun. Coffee was decent but staff said they couldn't offer hot milk to go with it. One way to spoil a good Americana coffee is to mix in chilled milk.I chose the fruit scone, (with two small butters), it was a poor example - over dry and only 2 sultanas. Also being a small size I thought the price tag of £1.75 was not good value. Scones are probably the cheapest cake to produce.Seats were comfortable and tables were clean.

I often have breakfast at Boswells, staff used to be good, this week (23rd Jan) was lgnored by staff as i tried to order breakfast and lady at till served 3 people before me despite asking to place my order before those people even entered the restaurant. I could not identify anyone in charge to complain in person. I took the opportunity to try somewhere else and glad i did, better food and service so will never be returning to boswells having used them a lot over the years.

We had lunch here today. Potatoe skins with cheese and bacon, side salad. Staff very friendly. Place very busy.

Stopped off for a quick cuppa and a bite to eat. The sandwiches and bacon baguette were pretty good. My latte was also good. However, my wife’s large Americano only had one shot of espresso in it, and so had little taste - the place should know that once you get to a certain size of cup, two shots are required.

Whilst shopping in Newbury we decided to drop in for a quick break. Clean and well run establishment with ample comfortable seating. Quick service at reasonable prices.

I visited my daughter who lives in Newbury and we decided we fancied a cooked breakfast Not knowing where to go apart from Bills , we used google and found Boswells Friendly , quick service and a tasty Breakfast , reasonable prices

Had a coffee here before going on to Highclere Castle. Good service and good coffee.Staff were helpful and friendly. There was plenty of room and we found it good value for money and next time we are in Newbury we would certainly go there again

Been in here many times now, mostly for breakfast on the weekend, reliably good food and service, execellent hot chocolate. Extra points today for finding and holding onto my wallet after I stupidly left it behind and didn't notice for several hours. Not a lot of other places these days where you could be confident it would be returned in one piece, thank you all ⭐

We like Boswells. It seems to be a small chain based in the South of England and you can order everything from a small to a gigantic breakfast. All cooked fresh(ish) and tasty and at a reasonable price. We go regularly.

Yo pedí un pollo piri-piri panini y me quedé impresionado con el amable y eficaz el servicio del personal atento. Este aperitivo era menos de £5 así un gran valor. Hay muchas mesas y podrá relajarse sin presiones de rush.

Este café tiene una buena variedad de alimentos, bocadillos, hamburguesas, patatas, sopas y algunos chaqueta platos principales. También hay una buena variedad de pastas y bebidas. Los precios son lo que esperarías de un café. Sin embargo, la comida en sí no es nada especial. Las chaquetas no vienen con una ensalada. Yo tenía la mía con griddled pollo. Este consistía en pedazos de pollo y una taza de salsa de chili. Mi amigo tenía el pescado y patatas fritas. El pescado estaba muy preparado y era muy pequeña.

A pasar tiempo juntos como nos ven sólo cada pocas semanas. Él tenía una Pepsi Max y quebradiza, tuve un muñeco de chocolate caliente. El servicio es bueno, el personal era muy simpático y buenos asientos. Bastante una zona abierta y bastante tranquilo en a mitad de la tarde.

Desayuno encantador y taza de té, el único inconveniente era que los tomates no eran cocidos. Zona de estar acogedora y wifi gratis

Lots of choice on the menu. Very child friendly. Good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nice touch that there was a selection of daily newspapers available to borrow.

The queue was quite slow moving. We ordered chips & a pizza slice & a toasted sandwich plus coffees. Staff member who served us seemed quite off.Most of the tables had dirty cups left on them. So we had to clean a table ourselves. Food was ok nothing special. Much better cafes in Newbury if I'm honest.

Called in for a coffee and cake. The coffee was well made and hot but the cake was average and not memorable. Staff were very friendly but there was a lot of food on floor, chairs and tables not well cleaned.There are many coffee houses that are better, a small improvement could make a lot of difference.

Excellent range of lunch time food. Loaded potato skins are great. I work in the area and therefore get a 10% discount which also helps. Staff always cheery too

Dropped in for a sausage butty and a cuppa tea during a shopping trip to Newbury. As the place is situated in the Kennet Shopping Centre you'd think that there would be plenty of passing trade. The place has so many vacant units that it is almost deserted - and the few patrons that were there looked as rough as hell.If the cafe were positioned further up in the town near the Parkside shopping area it'd thrive much more. The whole ambience of the place is brought down because the shopping centre is so down at heel.Average - but could be much better.

This is a great cafe,The food is amazing and the staff are friendly.However if it is busy it will obviously be a wait on hot foods ext!!!Cheese and onion pasty is very nice and there cookies

Large, spacious cafe with a great range of hot and cold food. Something to keep everyone happy. Top quality, great value, quick and the service is second to non. Would recommend when starving in Newbury!!!

A spacious cafe,very friendly staff.The cooked meals that we ordered were made fresh and very tasty.Generous portions delivered to table.Fairly noisy due to the volume of customers and it's popularity.Will definitely eat there again.

Had a lovely toasty and cake.The staff were extremely friendly and looked like they enjoyed their job.Would recommend and we will go back again.

Big café just inside the Kennet centre.All day breakfast was two fried eggs,two reheated sausages,beans and chips.(£5.75).Eventually got the sachets of salt and pepper but the English mustard went AWOL.Small Americano with hot milk (£1.80) turned up with cold milk.Oh I do wish there had been a Wetherspoons handy as their breakfasts show up offerings like this as no more than average.

A Friendly food and coffee shop with plenty of space. Not the type of place to relax in though as it gets very very noisy. The staff are friendly and the food is very good and reasonably priced.

Very good for coffee and cake or a light meal. Tea is available both in a pot or in a mug. Also a range of coffees and other drinks. They offer a reasonable range of cooked food, including jacket potatoes with various filing, pies and lasagne. The potatoes skins with cheese and bacon or cheese and onion are very good and usually available immediately. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

We just dropped in early on a Sunday afternoon.Service was quick and friendly.Jacket spud & tuna was fine.My all day breakfast was good, sausage a bit cold but otherwise OK.Worth a look for a quick snack.

Whichever town we go to we always head for Boswells. Coffee is always good and always friendly service

Tables were not jammed together as tightly as they often are in coffee shops. Did what we wanted, and did it well.But one thing: if you're going to project a massive clock on the wall, make sure it shows the right time.

The food is excellent and freshly cooked. The staff are very friendly and remember regular customers.
