We stayed at this Hotel as part of a park and drive initiative. We drove to the Hotel from our home in Sussex the day before we were flying out from Gatwick. We found the hotel really easily, my partner went into the hotel once we arrived to see what the procedure was for parking the car and getting transport to Gatwick Airport the next morning. The receptionist was very clear with her instructions and we found the hotel to be extremely helpful in assisting us. The surrounding areas of the hotel is absolutely lovely. We were given our hotel keys and once we had put our cases into the room we went to the bar for some drinks. We spoke to the receptionist about booking a taxi to get to Gatwick the next morning around 5.00am. This was all organised in a very professional manner. The hotel also has a restaurant which we had an evening meal in and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Once our holiday had finished we got the same taxi company from Gatwick back to the Hotel and picked up our car., A stressfree experience which we will definitely do again.

Booked a pre cruise room with parking for 8 days via Holiday Extras. The hotel is very nice and for £105 including parking it was also great value. The lift wasn't working, but these things happen, we were offered to use the trade lift if we needed to. The bed was comfy and clean and we were given a free upgrade on our room too. The shower was great and powerful, just what you need before a days travelling. They arranged a taxi for us to take us to the airport at 4am, which has a set price of £17.50 each way and everything went well from that side of things too. All in all an enjoyable start to our holiday and will definitely stay again when flying from Gatwick.

We stayed the night before our 7am flight from Gatwick for our Honeymoon, we had a lovely meal in the Restaurant all the staff we came across were lovely and helpful, However we were in room 007 which was between the bar and the reception due to this we gave up trying to even get to sleep by midnight due to all the noise from the bar, reception and the taxi pick up and drop off point right outside our window leaving us exhausted for the first day of our Honeymoon.

I checked in around 11am and was confused that there was no window in the room. Plus the TV was mounted high above the door frame - Odd ! It wasn’t until the morning I noticed a tiny skylight in the ceiling where there was a narrow stream on daylight The shower took 3-4 mins to warm up, I’m 6 foot tall and had to duck to get under the shower head - not relaxing ! Breakfast was OK but a little industrial and no service culture….checking out no smile, no asking whether I enjoyed the stay and when I asked them to book a taxi it appeared this was out slide their job scope….. I wouldn’t stay again

A departure airport of Gatwick for your annual holiday when you live in the West Country fills you with dread, M4 Roadworks, M25 and the collection of airport hotels all mean not a great start to your holiday. However we stumbled across Stanhill Court a lovely Surrey countryside location just £10 in a taxi from Gatwick and fab rates for parking. The hotel has real character and has been recently refurbished. The evening meal is basic pub grub but very reasonable when you consider its location. The best bit about this hotel is the view from the terrace whilst kick starting you holiday with a beer. It really does not feel like you are a 10 minute ride away from the airport. A good value hotel.

Really nice surprise, never sure what your going to get when you book a hotel for an early flight the next day but on this occasion was very pleased. Lactated just 15 mins from the airport, countryside setting and attractive hotel as you pull up.Very warm welcome on arrival, simple checkin with all relevant info given. Car parking is included and taxi booked there and then (cost is just £10). I asked for a car cover when booking and this was simple and easy to fit.Airy lobby with a roaring fire. Country house style. We had room 106 on 1st floor, located at rear of building, quiet and well appointed. High ceilings gave a sense of space. Plenty of room, it’s not a huge room but bigger than most. Comfy bed and good level of amenities, modern bathroom and very good shower. Soft towels. Tea and coffee making facilities available. We had Sunday lunch in the Orangery which was very good,Friendly team throughout, taxi arrived on time.Highly recommend.

From the outside this is a very impressive place, but start stripping back the layers and the cracks appear. The receptionist wasn’t the most welcoming, the lift was out of order and no assistance was offered with our luggage up the stairs. The room was very very warm but more than enough for our needs. After requesting a fan twice we were given one from the restaurant. The food was nice enough but the dead flies piled on the window sills and on the draped curtains overhead were really really off putting. If you are unfortunate enough to be put in a front room the noise levels from the atrium and people waiting outside for collections is constant throughout the night. On a positive the car parking system works really well.

Stayed here for 1 night before flying from Gatwick. Worth noting the parking is £5 per night which is 2-3x cheaper than Gatwick Parking which is very good. The downside is the family rooms are so bright for two reasons; first the roof light even when closed fully let’s so much light in and second the controls for the vents are bright green and light up the entire room all night. If it wasn’t for these two issues it would be a good pre flight hotel option as the flight noise isn’t an issue. The two kids beds above the main bed up the ladders are a nice touch.

Here for a three-day stay for a series of wedding festivities. And then on to a three week Baltic cruise, so we are packed to the gills! Only complaint was there is no elevator, and we had to lug our 50 lb bags upstairs ourselves. But staff was most accommodating. The associated wedding events took up the entire hotel and might have overwhelmed any establishment, but these folks were polite, professional, and helpful at every turn. Lovely gardens and grounds. One question: why the sad little pot of silk flowers at the reception desk? Surely a rose or rhododendron from the garden would be an improvement? Exceptional local florist available at amazingly reasonable prices.

They offered us a sandwich but we had payed for 3 courses we had to pick something that didn’t not have to be put in oven and they gave us freebottle wine . Coming back from our holiday we stayed there on the 13th August got to hotel they supposed to serve food until 9.30 . We been travelling from Italy all day had no food . Only to be told when we got to hotel that chef this time was sick and there was nothing they could do . All though there was people eating in the restaurant. They offered us some nuts as a consolation. The room that we stayed in wasn’t the best even lamp shades were not fixed properly to wall and were dirty . Plugs in bathroom all rusty not good at all . We woke up this morning covered in bed bed bites . We could wait to get our place we left at 7.30am . My advice avoid this place like the plague never again I would rather pay parking in Gatwick than stay in this place again .

Stayed for a two day meeting - nice building and grounds but the restaurant staff were quite rude, portion sizes meagre and tbe mattress in my room dreadful. Very old - Got no sleep. Springs were digging in my back the whole night - it was actually painful. Food was OK but still hungry after a three course meal. It's out in the sticks so take emergency rations! Not very good for vegetarians - didn't understand the concept. Waiting staff lived up to the title. Some members of our party waited 45 mins for breakfast. And when i tried to order i was told I had to wait to even place an order as the kitchen was 'too busy' (despite only having a few other diners). Get the impression chef rules the roost and customer service isnt on the menu! So overall distinctly average and the three things you expect from a hotel - warm, welcoming and accommodating service; great food; and a good night's sleep - were distinctly lacking. There are better hotels in the area. I wouldn't go back.

We were here for a Christmas meal - a company do. Three course meal, about £5 more per head than at some of the local gastropubs. The food quality felt like £5 or £10 less. Nothing to gripe about specifically, but everything had that mass-produced, slightly tired look that big-scale catering can have. I came down with a massive stomach bug the next day, which may colour my view, and I can't say that it was cause and effect. Others in my party didn't say they had suffered - or if they did, they probably put it down to drinking more than me!Service wasn't especially friendly. The building is stunning though.

We booked this at half an hours notice after being let down at our booked hotel so we felt we were taking a bit of a chance. Well, what a surprise we had when we arrived! Set in beautiful woodland with pristine gardens and an ivy clad frontage, we wore broad smiles as we unloaded the car. We continued to be impressed on entering the large reception hall with its high ceiling, wood panelled walls and grand staircase. Our room was very well equipped with a quiet view overlooking the front gardens and, for an extra 20 quid, the four poster bed was the icing on the cake.We had a lovely meal in the restaurant with a very attentive waitress and also enjoyed a hearty breakfast the following morning. The only part that felt a little out of place with the rest of the building was the bar area, which was situated in what was probably an inner courtyard at one time. However, this didn't detract from our visit in any way.

Honestly one of the most appalling places I have ever had the displeasure to stay in terms of terrible customer services. My husband and I came to stay here before flying from Gatwick airport. For people choosing to use this hotel for an airport stay with parking I would strongly advise you not to. The airport / long stay "car park" is NOT a car park. It is essentially a little wood to the side of the property with a small amount of hard standing put down to make a road. There is no security gate or cameras and the vast majority of the parking spaces are on the boggy grass/mud so we got our car stuck and spent the majority of the night before our holiday trying to get it out. Finally after two or three requests for assistance the exceptionally rude, surly and unhelpful night manager sent a waiter out to help us and we managed to get the car free, but my husbands jeans and shoes were literally caked in mud and the hotel made no offer to launder or help us clean them before our flight the next morning. We ended up having to wash them in the bath tub and sink and spent most of the night blow drying them. Not how you want to spend the night before an early long haul flight. We chose to stay in a hotel the night before the holiday to relax but there was no chance of that. The next morning our taxi which had been "booked" by the hotel didn't show up and because the reception doesn't open until 8/9ish there was no one around to help. Other guests were arriving back from the airport to collect their cars and couldn't find anyone around to get their car keys from or find their cars which had been moved by the hotel during the stay, but no one seemed to know where to. Thankfully as we returned from our holiday around midday the reception was open. I explained to the lady on the desk what had happened during our stay. She was fairly sympathetic but made no attempts to reimburse us for the inconvenience, and we are out of pocket as my husbands shoes were ruined and the car needed a professional valet as it was so muddy. The food was reasonable-ish but massively over priced and service very slow - we actually nearly left as we had been waiting so long to be served. The dessert we were served was inedible as the sauce was burnt. We sent it back and were offered an alternative but then they tried to charge us for it. There hardly seemed to be any staff around and the waitress who served us was clearly run off her feet and mentioned to us how busy and stressed she was.The hotel itself is pretty and I'm sure for a wedding it would be nice - although personally the bad service and rude staff would put me off. I have noticed that some other reviewers have commented on the parking and the hotel have tried to use the excuse that they are a "rural" hotel. As someone who actually lives in a rural area this excuse does not wash. If you say you offer parking, you should offer proper parking. "Rural hotel" doesn't mean "must own a land-rover to stay here or you'll need to be towed out of our bog". Dreadful.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, taking advantage of their free parking. It is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, if just a little tired. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice and very pleasantly served. Unfortunately, in the background you could hear the night manager haranguing his staff loudly. We were not the only diners who found this intrusive. We instantly recognised him by his t-shirt ! We had met the night manager the previous night when we attempted to gain entry at 11:15 pm, after a slightly delayed flight. The doors were firmly locked even though it was not 11:30pm. We phoned the number on the door - no reply. We knocked and knocked. We left two messages pleading with them to open the door. We attempted to shake the door as they had our car keys so we could not drive away! Eventually a man in a scruffy red t- shirt opened it and said, " Who are you? What do you want?" Very curt. The time was now 11:35pm. We were cold and wet from waiting thirty five minutes for our taxi. It had taken twenty minutes for him to admit us. He was yawning and half asleep! Not the reception you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. This is basically a good hotel, but their night manager needs to improve his communication skills. Extraordinarily rude! He only needed to check his computer to know that all guests had not yet checked in. This spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay.

I came here with my school for our year 11 prom on June the 25th 2016. I must say, the evening was quite a success and was made quite enjoyable. I have to say the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I had told one waiter that I couldn't eat the gelatine in the dessert and she gladly offered a different dessert which I felt was kind of her. The hotel in itself was pretty in terms of what we saw of it but I have to say that it became a little crowded in the dining area as we were a large party of more than 90 people and the dance floor was also very small so people were crowded on the dance floor but the DJ was lots of fun! Overall it was an enjoyable night with friends for the last time together. The food was enjoyable, the hotel was pretty apart from the small issue in size and the staff were attentive and pleasant, although you could hardly get much of a smile from them though it was possibly due to the late night factor. I would recommend this hotel for this type of event but not if you're bringing loads of guests. I would say you should be looking at 50 max as it can otherwise get very crowded and therefore hot and stuffy although the easy access to outside areas was a definite plus!!!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Stanhill Court Hotel prior to an early morning flight from Gatwick and the hotel still delights! The majestic, sweeping driveway leading to this beautiful old Manor House really sets the tone for a stay. There is a massive amount of car parking space, quite vital as this hotel is very popular as a pre-holiday flight stopover and Car Parking while you are away. Check in is handled quickly and efficiently including booking the morning taxi and the return taxi at the end of your holiday (you pay the taxi driver direct, expect £10 each way). The room we stayed in this time had a lovely view out over the front of the property and was very quiet despite the hotels 15 minute proximity to the airport! Sleep quality was very good and the bed was very comfortable. We chose to eat in the hotel and once again its AA 3 star rating shone through! The restaurant staff are friendly and helpful and are happy to talk through the menu if you need anything explained or want recommendations. The meal my wife and I enjoyed this time was as good as our previous visit last year...with just one exception...they had Sticky Toffee Pudding on the menu this year...it was to die for...making this year better than last!!Our alarm went off at 04.00 and our taxi was waiting for us at 04.30...perfect!Yes, the Stanhill Court Hotel has a lot going for it which is why we have booked in again for our summer holiday in July!

I booked my family a meal here as a surprise for Mother's Day. Having never visited before, I was not sure what to expect, but was certainly impressed when we reached the private driveway entrance, adorned with ancient sculptures and striking landscaping. The building itself is suitably grand, with a charming historic design, and lush romantic gardens set in front.Once inside, we were met by a friendly host at the reception, who then took our coats and led us to another staff member who whisked us efficiently to our table. The bar and restaurant rooms are really very nice, with lofty ceilings and stylish decor. Out table was set in the huge orangery, overlooking the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside - truly idyllic. As expected, the meal was delivered pretty much without hitch - each course brought in a timely manner, and cooked excellently. Only when it came to pay was there a slight issue, but this was down to a new system I was told.Overall, a wonderful meal out - would definitely recommend!

Service a little slow but we could understand that and it did not matter as we had plenty to chat about. Car parking was a bit limited as I believe they do a Gatwick carpark deal there which means many cars are left for a week or so. The terrace and views were interesting, a lovely place for a wedding I would say.

Check-in- Easy and polite. Were informed that sometimes it can get busy and the car might need moving and asked if that was OK. It was OK and I was impressed by who I presume was a manageress/senior member of staff helping an obviously newer member of staff in an unobtrusive but very supportive manner.Room. Nice. Just about a good size for one night. Any longer stay might have made it seem stuffy. Nice bathroom, but when emptying the sink some water and grit comes up through the bath plug- old pipes I suspect, not a big issue.Grounds: Large and lovely, maybe could do with more colour but still a great place to sit and chill.Bar: quick service, friendly bar staff, typical hotel prices. Fine.Breakfast: This is where we were slightly underwhelmed. It certainly wasn't anything to complain about at all. It was nice. But, the breakfast was just overcooked and a bit rubbery. However, still very edible and in no way a huge issue.Parking: It's a great service. Yes you park under trees so your car gets a bit sticky but we park under a tree at home so it didn't bother me one bit. The express taxi to Gatwick was on time and £10. On the way back however we were expected to wait 75 minutes, so we got the airport firm instead and paid £16 (of course this isn't anything to do with the hotel!)On the whole, if I was to use Gatwick again, I would stay here again without hesitation. You can tell this is a family venture and they are doing a decent job of it.

We stayed here for my Husbands birthday and had a pleasant stay, our room was in the old part (no7) the four poster bed was a bit rickety and there wasn't a bedside cabinet on my side of the bed so we had to use our suitcase, the room really needed more drawers instead had a writing desk and two chairs. The shower was good plenty of hot water and nice crisp white towels and bedding. The breakfast was of a good standard but no rolls to go with the cheese and meat selection! also the toast was bought out cold, just a few niggles really nothing too major! Evening meal was very nice also. Gardens well kept and very nice to take a stroll around. would definitely return.

Our meals were full of flavour and the food was well presented. A good chef! The duck and the the steak that we ordered were 'melt in the mouth' deliciousness.

We had a set 3course meal booked with our room and could not fault the food or staff that attended to us. Each course was nicely dressed and served hot, the complete meal was not rushed and was an excellent start to our holiday. Treat the staff with respect as you would like to be treated. Very pleased.

Stayed here for one night before a morning flight, as we also needed parking.Room was excellent - large and comfortable. Bathroom great also.Ate dinner at the hotel, and the price and food were excellent. Bar and restaurant staff were great. But - we booked a cab with reception for 8.30 pick up to the airport and we also paid for breakfast. It was not until the next morning we were told that breakfast commences between 8 and 8:15am - you think they would have told us that the night before and we would not have booked breakfast. As you can imagine - there was not enough time for breakfast and the receptionist was adiment about the no refund on breakfast. Such a pity, as the rest of the stay was great and I am looking for a regular Gatwick hotel.

Hotel was well decorated. Food was good. The room was falsely advertised as having a fireplace. Once we complained about this to the night supervisor he was uninterested and unhelpful. In the morning the foreign (non British) manager was quite disrespectful however I got a discount. Won't be using again.

Had booked a three course dinner as part of the hotel and parking package to start a holiday flying from Gatwick. The restaurant is the dining room of the country house the hotel is based around and has view onto the terrace and gardens. The ambience is "old fashioned" with heavy dark wood furniture, but a brighter and more modern bar is in the adjoining room. Dined early and just one other couple to start with in room, but several other people came before the end of the meal which gave more buzz and did not detract from speed or efficiency of the service. The menu was limited and a supplement would apply for some courses (looks like many take up the pre-booked option), but we particularly enjoyed our starters which were well presented, tasty and just right portion sizes. The wine list is also limited and has some eye watering prices on it. There is a wine of the month to refresh choices, but we chose a red from the main list which was under £30 for the bottle. There are some house wines by the glass. We had different main course too and agreed that the taste combinations were interesting and well executed. The vegetables were done very well - that is not overcooked, but done as appropriate for the vegetable.Almost no room for pudding, but we bravely tried a traditional and a more adventurous modern style between us and were both pleased.I thought throughout that if I had not been staying that I would not have found this liuttle gem and wondered how many locals would eat here. I was pleased that a small group seemed to be celebrating a special occasion and enjoying themselves as much as we did.

Plus's Hotel building and grounds were impressive, staff friendly and helpful, food not bad. Minus'sNo obvious reception as door was closed, had to find staff as minimal persons working, 4 poster room (no 7) good size but bed creaked with every movement, couldn't see tv from the bed if you slept on the left side, dust everywhere, excessively warm on first entering, Won't be returning, laid in bed in the hotel as I type this.

With a very early flight we traveled up the day before. My wife found the deal on the Internet, a room and 14 nights parking for under a hundred quid!Place is in a lovely spot, very country house, bit old fashioned but it works! Staff were brilliant we arrived early afternoon and the lady on reception was brilliant. Room was good, comfortable and good size. We had booked to eat out in the evening but decided to stay in and eat, again bit old fashioned and traditional; won't win a Michelin star but the food was hot, the service quick and efficient and all in all good value.

We got quite a good deal on the hotel (room, evening dinner and 3 weeks on site parking) when we were flying from Gatwick this summer. The hotel itself is quite old and quirky but the rooms are spacious and clean. The grounds are great for an evening stroll. We enjoyed our meal - a decent choice of dishes, tasty food and prompt and courteous service. Not so good was the fact that even though it was midweek there was a large corporate function taking place and our room was situated directly above the disco. Fortunately this finished reasonably early and we were able to get a decent night's sleep. Our friends staying in a room at the front of the hotel were less fortunate as the drunken revellers stayed long after reception closed at 11.00 p.m. and they were subjected to screaming and swearing into the small hours. Not surprisingly they were rather bleary eyed when our taxi (arranged by the hotel - a good deal at £10 for the four of us) arrived at six the next morning. The hotel needs to consider employing a night porter to deal with this kind of eventuality if it is to attract repeat guests for its park and fly business.

A wonderful setting with excellent staff, professional and friendly. We enjoyed a 3 course Sunday lunch and were lucky enough with the weather to have drinks on the terrace before going to the dinning room. The dinning room is an intimate authentic period room - the hotel being an old country manor house dating from 1881 when it was a private residence. There is plenty of wood panelling and a beautiful sweeping staircase up to the bedrooms. The food was good, would have been very good if it had been hotter. The service was impeccable. I was a little disappointed by the mixed berry pavlova for desert which was very hard being a sandwich affair of 2 cold hard meringues. We look forward to returning to this wonderful place.

We stayed here pre holiday flip or a quiet night. There was a prom - there was no food at all which meant we had a stressful evening not a relaxing one plus the room and furniture was literally vibrating above the prom. Staff were great in moving us to 4 poster. We appreciate that but we didn't require the bridal suite, we wanted a snack and quiet evening. Staff also left our luggage (with passports) unattended. No staff at reception and difficult to locate anyone when doors are shut and corridors unlit.

Arrived early enough to enjoy a walk in the grounds and relax a bit before going to sleep. Basically, rather than dropping your car at an airport car park and sleeping in a shoebox you can book a room for the night before your flight and then leave your car here for the duration of your holiday. It's £10 each way for a taxi to Gatwick but that is a special rate and the taxi firm didn't have a car available for over an hour on the way back to pick up the car. So we got one from the rank and that was £16.Breakfast was delicious. The Hotel is a great building in a beautiful setting. We saw a great sunset across the fields. I can see why it would be popular for weddings here.

A lovely setting for this gathering of Lions club members from both Horley and surrounds and Bad nauheim in Germany. A very enjoyable lunch in the conservatory with views over the lovely grounds. Even though it was a miserable day it was still lovely. Staff most attentive and did their very best to help us all have a great celebration.

We stayed here the night before flying off from Gatwick for two weeks. The grounds are lovely and the hotel is very eye catching. The room was very comfortable and the service from start to finish was exemplary. We left the car and the reception staff arranged our taxi to the airport and gave details of booking the return journey when we returned. The fare was a very reasonable flat rate of £10. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will certainly be using it again the next time we fly from Gatwick.

We booked in advance for a two-night stay (Friday to Sunday). The hotel is well set back from the main road giving the advantage of being quiet and countryside feeling. The building looks impressive from the outside, but has ample parking. The reception area is very poor and unimpressive and as we had paid in full in advance we were just handed our keys and told where our room was - no niceties such as hotel facilities, meal times etc.The inside of the hotel is a time warp and is all wooden panelling and is reminiscent of the early part of the last century. The overall impression was of darkness as there were very few lights on throughout the hotel. We paid £178 for a superior double room - superior it certainly was not. It was fairly small with very basic facilities. It was clean and functional, but there it stopped. The TV was small and very old and the kettle was likewise old and looked like a travel kettle that had seen better days.Certainly not worth anyway near that cost. The hotel appears to be run on a shoestring with very few staff around, hence our experience when checking out. It appears that the receptionist was serving breakfast in the dinning room.I would not stay here again despite the lovely grounds and views.Whilst the car park was almost full the hotel was not and we suspect that it was being used for Gatwick Airport parking.Checkout was 10:00 but as usual the reception was not staffed and we had to find someone from the kitchens to check us out.

Came here for afternoon tea for sister's pre hen do.The services was very good and the setting was lovely. The fire was lit by two members of staff and the room in which the tea/food was served in was so homely and comfortable. The sandwiches were yummy and the little cakes were divine. The homemade fresh scones were the best I have had in a while. I strongly suggest afternoon tea here to anybody.

We stayed at the Stanhill Court Hotel the night before we went on holiday, as it provided free car parking and a place to sleep before going to Gatwick. It was very reasonably priced, comfortable and set in lovely grounds. The staff were very welcoming and the room was nice, clean and with a good bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant, and I have to say that it was BY FAR the best meal I have ever had in a 'pre flight' hotel. None of the throw it at you and I dont care attitude. The food was very good quality, well served by attentive and friendly staff in a lovely dining room with proper napiery and a good wine list. The whole experince was top class and I would recommend the hotel all round. A real find

The People the Grange support will serve you at your table gaining experience of dealing with customers and handling money. This is an excellent and weel worth suppoting. The tea is served in the Victoriam conservatory. The cost is £6.50 a head for a scone, jam and cream with unlimited tea of coffee. Most enjoyable. The only minor downside is the start time of 2 o'close which for us is far too early 3 o;clock for tea would suit us much better and this is the only point thatwill stop us returning

The worst experience having breakfast. Ordered a tea and came in takeaway cup sitting in.. with milk and teabag in together. Worst scrambled age I’ve ever seen they were like milk and upon asking the waitress why she replied the chef likes to use undercook them!! The salmon was covered in fat also which hadn’t been cut off when prepared! Awful experience would not recommend as had two bad experiences in this cafe with food.
