I’ve lived around here for over 10 years and never been here; actually to be honest I thought from the outside it didn’t look very appealing, but I popped in today as I was passing and I was very pleasantly surprised, it was spacious, well decorated, the drinks were very well priced, the atmosphere was nice, there was even a shuffle board, and whilst the service behind the bar was slow, I really enjoyed my evening. Edit: went back a second time today and it was the same. Nice atmosphere, nice beer garden, but again very slow service at the bar.

Limited menu only 5 options & not ideal, allowed pets & they were sitting on the public seats. Pubs nowadays smell of pets. Not going there again

Stopped for a quick drink parked in the car park ( it was Dark) after 18.15 and was charged £60 for parking, Bewarned didn't see any ref to parking, nor did the bar staff asked if we had paid Very Very poor won't see me or My Mates at that pub again.

Friday Night at the Brewery …. Well the staff Leo, Finn, Finn and Lauren what a good team they always do an amazing job, it was incredibly busy service was to high standard as always … the band was one of the best bands that’s played at brewery in long time The Reflectors definitely get them back again ! Also the food at Brewery is the best it’s incredible very delicious, good value for money too, it’s freshly cooked By Edyta, Amie and there team and Sunday lunches are definitely worth coming in for!! We are always made to feel welcomed by the Brewery team what ever day of the week it is and it’s our favourite pub!! It’s also dog friendly and our Frank loves coming to see his favourite barkeeps! Well done everyone at Brewery it’s definitely at best now ….. and that’s a credit to the Bar staff and kitchen team they work incredibly hard and deserve to recognised that! Always 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us!!

Yeah, nice pub, nice outdoor area and good parking. If you like the Dorking brewery, then this place has a few on tap. I didn't have food, so can't rate that.

We had Sunday lunch at Brewery and its incredible food was absolutely amazing well presented, really good value for money! So thank you to kitchen team… The bar staff the lovely Daisy, Lauren and Ines always welcoming and polite lovely gals and just amazing…. Our favourite place to come for food and drinks and it’s also dog friendly Happy Sunday x

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with my boyfriend at Pub the food was absolutely delicious, so compliments to chef & team. The bar Staff are as always very welcoming, and always make you feel welcome and go that extra mile for there customers.. very lovely team x

So nice to see the transformation of this much loved village pub. A great selection of Dorking Brewery Beers and a nice brunch/ lunch menu. Our food was very enjoyable and served by helpful and friendly staff. There is a large outside seating area and the outside has been painted and the flower boxes looked very pretty

Not a bad pub, but needs some changes to be a great pub. Food was ok - the Sunday roast beef was tasty and good sizes, however the beef felt a cheap cut. The kids meal of sausages and the fish were really tasty also. Puddings were all very underwhelming and felt like they came straight from the freezer / microwave. Prices on the menu did not then reflect the price charged on the bill - so check this before paying! Overall we were disappointed and would not go back.

Popped in for lunch today. Small menu but that was fine as what they do provide was excellent. It’s not aiming to be a Michelin restaurant- just good well prepared food. In fact my burger was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice to see the difference Dorking Brewery are having as owners.

To be honest this was a last minute stop. The pub inside is warm and inviting, with the open fire, gives it a nice feel. I had the chicken tenderloin which was deep fried and overdone but overall 5/10. For my main I had the sausage and mash which was presented well but lacked seasoning, however it was still enjoyable and I’d give it a 6.5/10

The food was good, the service was not! Went as a family and basically got rushed off to leave as they had another booking. We didn’t get asked if we wanted pudding (which we actually did want pudding). The lady brought the bill over and stood there (desperate for us to leave). Never known anything like it to be honest, it really let the restaurant down, such a shame as the food was nice.

The best sausage & mash for miles! The beef and onion gravy paired with lovely fresh greens was just delicious. The beer battered onion rings top it off beautifully. Well done guys! Highly recommended.

This is an excellent example of a British pub rescued by local businesses. Good food, great beer and down to earth friendly staff. Run by the Dorking Brewery but they try to source local produce, come and give them your support...we need them and more of this!

Pretzel was burnt.(crisp not soft as described, could seriously cause injury if was thrown) Curry was out of stock, only told us once we ordered. No check back on table when food delivered. No one asked if we needed top up in drinks, I went up to bar asking to re fill water but had to go to loo's to fill my glass. No drinks menu (just wine) Minimal cheap spirit collection. Wrong wine was bought to the table. Pudding menu was never offered. Couldn't ask for bill as no one around, had to go to bar for it.

I wanted to share feedback regarding our recent Christmas party booking for 16 staff at your venue. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations, especially for such a special occasion. Here are a few points that stood out: 1. No festive atmosphere: The tables were not laid out for a party, and there were no Christmas decorations or lights to create a festive mood. It didn’t feel like a Christmas celebration at all. 2. Lack of music: There was no music, and we had to ask the staff to put some on, which detracted from the overall ambiance. 3. No cocktails available: We were disappointed to find that there were no cocktails on offer, which is something many of our team members were looking forward to. 4. General experience: Many of our staff, some with over 15 years of experience attending Christmas parties, commented that this was the most boring one they had attended. We appreciate the effort your team may have put into the event, but it fell far short of what we anticipated, especially given the season and the nature of our booking. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to decide that we will not be booking future events at The Brewery Inn. Thank you for taking the time to consider our feedback. We hope it helps improve future events for other guests.

First time since it's reopened very nice best fish and chips.

The Brewery is a lovely place for a meal with family or friends, staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the food and local brewed beers and ales are 10/10. Heard they do live music on fridays so will definitely be coming back👍

My friend and I had an excellent Roast Chicken Dinner the Sunday which was beautifully cooked and moist. The accompanying vegetables, Yorkshire Pudding, stuffing made it a very filling and tasty meal. The glass of wine was expensive - but then I believe that is how restaurants make their profits nowadays. The service was efficient, friendly and helpful. I asked for more gravy and it arrived immediately despite the pub being quite full. Well done everyone.

A significant improvement! This place used to be a dive with a rude landlady and a miserable vibe. No more! The Dorking Brewery have taken it over and it is such a different place. Craft beers, delicious food (supporting local businesses) and friendly staff.

We just had a brilliant Sunday roast at the Brewery Inn. Under new management from the Dorking Brewery, service was friendly and attentive. We had the roast beef and chicken. The food, locally sourced, was tasty, generous portions and well prepared. And the beer is excellent. This is exactly what Ashtead needs - a great pub with fab food.

We had a lovely lunch at The Brewery Inn in Ashtead today. They have just launched their Sunday menu and the food was delicious with generous portions and reasonable prices. All the food is sourced locally and freshly prepared and cooked. The staff were all friendly and attentive and it was a very welcoming atmosphere. This is our local and we very much look forward to visiting on some of their music nights as well. Ashtead has needed a really good local pub that serves good food and, since Dorking Brewery took over this pub, it seems that that is exactly what we now have and with the benefit of good local beers. What a huge improvement over the offerings from the previous owners. Excellent news for the area!

This is the second meal we have had here since it re-opened, and both were excellent. The first time we had a veggie burger and a curry, both of which were obviously freshly cooked and not mass-produced. For our latest meal we had sausages and mash, which again was very tasty, with onion gravy, delicious fried onion rings, fresh veg and mustard. Yum! So glad to see it was busy - deservedly so.

Had a lovely like much with my son, Brie bites, beer battered onion rings, cheeseburger and a chicken burger, all very delicious. Service was good too, just needed some music to listen too. Thank you to all staff. I know they have worked very hard. Onwards and upwards xxx

The food was excellent. Ordered chicken wings, chicken salad, chicken burger and fish and chips. All were so flavourful and great quality. Busy atmosphere and there is live music on weekends too. Will definitely be coming back!

Came here for a few beers - pub is looking so much better. Glad Dorking Brewery has taken over and look forward to seeing what other changes they make.

We had a party of over 30 guests seated in the garden area on a lovely summers evening 28th August. Menu was all pre- arranged and excellently cooked and delivered with a cheerful attitude by Ines. The pub definitely contributed to what was a memorable night.

We came today to the Brewery in Ashtead after the refurbishment, we asked for food, they said they didn't serve food yet and gave it to a selected group of their friends. Every paying customer that is a regular should be a respected customer. It made us feel that we are not welcome. We are not coming back again. Disrespectful.

Just changed ownership to Dorking Brewery. Bitter beers nice though can't comment on lagers. Presently no food. I was told that food would be starting soon with a limited menu and building up. Still early days, so difficult to comment about the atmosphere, hence 3 stars. Bitters around £4.95 a pint, so average price for the area.

New ownership with new beers. Didn't eat here so couldn't comment on the food but good local beers on offer at a good price from Dorking brewery. Will be coming back in the future.

After going to the racist leg of mutton oh. Down the roads INES. Was a breath of fresh air she was the kindest and most loveliest host, she made our time so lovely and I appreciate it thank you again x

Can’t rate the food as I didn’t have any, but a really nice cosy pub with lots of nooks and cranny’s to sit at. Karaoke and cowboy night was scheduled for later on which was cool! Nice local pub, and free parking if you claim back £2 from the car park.

Been here 3 times now and the staff are super friendly, food is great, and outdoor seating is spacious! Big car park out back where the £2 fee is refunded when you buy something

A return visit, probably the first (and last!) time we’ve eaten outside. The food was ok…pie good, calamares less so, because the pieces were so small, all you could really taste was the batter. As another reviewer has pointed out, the two Sauvignon blancs on offer are expensive.. The staff were friendly and pleasant enough. However, what was really disappointing was that the staff weren’t bothering to clear the outside tables, so we had to hunt around to find one that was ok to use, and even then the end that we were not using was covered in crumbs and large blobs of previous diners’ gravy. We shouldn’t need to ask for this to be sorted, and as we’d booked, a clean table should have been available on our arrival. There was no excuse for this laziness, they weren’t busy even though it was a sunny Saturday evening (perhaps they should ask themselves why there were so few customers !) I was also disgusted to find that smoking is allowed throughout the outside eating area, even in areas where food is served, with an ashtray on every table. Non-smokers should be able to eat and drink outside without their experience being spoiled by the fug of other people’s cigarette smoke. I doubt if we’ll be back.

First the down side, not serving the set menu!…glass of South Africa Sauv Blanc £10!!! Having said that!…made last minute booking, three hours notice party of 10! Handled by Paul. Friendly and obliging! Service was slick and professional, … good to have many staff on hand. The food was excellent, all hot and plentiful and appealing….ordered many and varied,,including four children’s meal…friends with us from Australia commented on quality of fish and chips being up with the best during their visit and the Bailey desert was again complemented, Staff fantastic,(think boss has a beard and really pleasant) made us all welcome decor clean and comfortable, particularly like the very good choice of tableware, excellent selection of beers Definitely visit again

The Brewery Inn has been one my local pubs since I moved in the village. I can't tell how many times I have passed it over the years. Yet, I think, I only stepped in once! Until today. The place was already busy when I arrived and by the time I left, there were no tables left. Most were occupied by families. That gave me a sense of its popularity. The food was better than I expected and staff pleasantly jovial in their task. The lesson was, you never what's inside your backyard until you try. Disfruta.

Went out for Sunday, dinner on my own, partner was away for work. Had a fantastic, triple roast !! Staff were very friendly , had extra potatoes and gravy no extra cost ££ ! The roast dinner was £15 , I will be coming back !!

Located in the heart of Ashtead, this homely pub welcomes all with its friendly staff, delicious food and fabulous array of drinks! I was served by Maddie who was polite and attentive, making my dining experience really enjoyable. I have been back on multiple occasions since as really enjoy the food, vibe and staff who make you feel so welcome!

A Stonegate property currently for sale. The pub was very well staffed when we were there and were doing s decent lunch time trade. Wonderful wooden floors throughout with plenty of space to move around. There is quite a large beer garden put the back which you can get to through the pub which involves stairs, but you can also go around the side to avoid the stairs if needs be. The fish and chips was very good (and very big!) - I was starving by the time I got there. The Guinness was excellent as was the Greene King Old Speckled Hen.

Had hake/ scallop pasts on last visit and it was excellent. Had it again on Friday and it was a bit dissapointing. It still tasted good but the size of the fish potion was very small this time, basically the size of a small fish finger. For the price it was with the small fish and one scallop it was not really worth it, shame.

Lovely pub, staff were friendly, had the chicken sandwich which was lovely. My friend had hunters chicken that she enjoyed too.

The staff at the Brewery are always incredibly polite, helpful Ines is always smiling and always looks after everyone that comes to pub… it’s pet friendly I can bring my dog down and he’s also made welcome too… also they do a good lunch here so thanks to Edyta and Amy for my lunch it was delicious.. all the bar staff are absolutely lovely Sally, Maddie, Fergus and Finn always working hard and still delivering high lvl of service. Had some drinks with friends for my birthday,lovely atmosphere and attentive staff! Also had some food and was delicious!

Booked a table requesting near to the disabled toilet but when we got there the toilet was out of use. The service was very poor and I ordered the lamb shank with mash. The mash was cold, very little veg and the worst was the lamb shank. The sauce wasn't runny and was stuck to the lamb. The lamb should have come off the bone with ease but was tough and stuck to the bone. The pub was quite busy so I said to my partner not to complain as service was so poor for a Friday afternoon. Will not recommend or ever go there again.

After me and my 3 other friends (one of whom is 18 years of age so is legally responsible) were rejected from the awful pub down the road which is the Woodman because apparently we needed a “guardian”, (although the 18 year old is our guardian so they either have imbeciles employed there, or their imbecilic owners are forcing moronic and spontaneous rules on their employees), we took a 15 minute walk in 5 degrees down to this boozer through the park. We most definitely had our doubts because we were just rejected from the Woodman, however, upon entry, we were greeted by the most warm and welcoming staff and were sat down to eat very swiftly. Not only was the food very good, but the atmosphere was very very nice as well, most definitely not too loud but also had a very nice ambience with a toasty fireplace. Very comforting. So the night went from being rejected from the grubbiest, busiest and most awful pub ever to being accepted to this absolute gem of a boozer. Not only that, but I was allowed to drink as I was having a meal and was accompanied by an 18 year old, something that the rubbish Woodman did not let me do, even though we literally had an 18 year old, with ID!!!! Thank you brewery inn, you saved our night. And you made it great as well, God bless you all and keep being legends, because for as long as you’re legends, I’m a customer for sure. Ps. Readers, if you can’t be bothered to read all this, essentially: Go here for a drink and food, DO NOT GO TO THE WOODMAN ON BARNET WOOD LANE. It sucks and all the employees hate you as well as themselves. This place is most definitely the place to be in Ashtead. Go here, not there!

I attended a Sunday lunch for my cousin's birthday and the staff were very accommodating, bringing extra roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. I had the lamb shank and the sticky toffee sponge, both of which were absolutely fantastic. As an aside, we learnt from the manager/owner towards the end of our meal that a table of 20 was due at the same time as our table of nine. That large booking never turned up nor did they have the courtesy to cancel, which is absolutely outrageous. Not only were extra staff on shift to deal with what the pub obviously expected to be a busy afternoon, the manager/owner also ended up turning away a table of 10 in expectation of not being able to accommodate them, if the table of 20 turned up. Given the state of the hospitality industry and pubs in particular, it is completely unacceptable for would-be customers to behave like this.

What happened to the Festive Set Menu ???? I checked out the pub's menus online before booking a table for lunch. I was attracted by the Festive Set Menu. Once seated we realised this wasn't on the tables. I went to the bar to enquire. Eventually a woman emerged and said the Set Menu isn't on offer in December. You couldn't make it up !! So I ordered a nachos...not the chestnut and onion nut roast on the Festive Set Menu online.... The nachos salsa and guacomole tasted like they'd come out of jars. Very disappointing. My friend liked his turkey pie. However..he reported the parsnip was woody ! Customer parking a nightmare. I gave up and parked in the nearby Peace Memorial Hall cp. Hence an average score. I wouldn't revisit.

Had a very nice evening Saturday night pub was very busy as they had a party on for someone’s birthday… but still received excellent service from Sally, Finn, Sian & Karen …. Didn’t wait long for drinks, food was delicious and as always the staff were working hard making sure everyone got served best pub in the village! 😝 x

I came here for coffees and Sunday lunch with my family. I was super impressed with the service and politeness of all the staff who were very responsive! The vibe was very relaxed.

Very nice atmosphere and lovely roast apart from the turkey I chose was processed and very salty and unable to eat along side 2 other guests on our table. The pork and beef were very nice.

This is a nice little pub in the Main Street of Ashtead. Theres a car park at rear with free parking for customers. Sadly, it was rather dirty and would not suit those who like to eat in a clean environment. The staff were super friendly. There was a limited menu with no soup and the roast did not have any potatoes. With better management and a minor refurb and thorough detailed clean this would be a great pub.

Jay, Fin, Sally, Fergus, Syan, Lois and Ty I had my birthday 🥳 party at the Brewery it was the best night, they did an amazing job making sure we were all well looked after. I am a local I’ve seen this pub go through a lot of chances but Jamie and his team have been working hard getting the pub thriving again, it’s a beautiful pub, we also love the food the new menu is has a really good selection and they Sunday roasts are Banging 😝 our beautiful village pub is definitely worth a visit and they are amazing at hosting any event. Food was amazing, they even made custom meal for my fussy child. Beautiful beer garden and great entertainment on the Friday night.

Pleasant enough surroundings and staff, food lacking though. Sunday roast served Luke warm, grey beef and roast potatoes like bullets. I couldn't be bothered to go and complain before then end, and maybe I've just come to expect poor quality pub food! I did mention it after though, and was just told, 'sorry about that'. No effort to make amends or keep our custom.

What a friendly little pub. We sat outside in the covered part of the garden which is very well laid. Even a dog feeding station which i thought was a great idea, water, bowls and biscuits for our furry friends. Well impressed and will certainly be back. Photos to follow

Booked an area for 30 - 40 people. No charge. Really nice area was put aside for us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely outside area too. Some of us ordered food. Food was good value for money. Thank you for enabling us to have a really nice gathering. Will definitely return.

Beautiful space with amazing personalities behind the bar, despite it being my first visit I was really made to feel like a regular with great knowledge of the drinks available I was able to get pint in hand in now time. Worth dropping by 100%
