Very disappointed in my Scrambled egg on brown toast, the egg had no taste very pale done in the microwave, and water on my plate made my barely toasted toast wet and soggy. Great pleasant staff. Service good but unfortunately the breakfast was horrible.

Ordered coffee (expensive & too strong) and a toasted teacake (see below). Virtually zero fruit in my teacake! Very mean! How to give the customer the absolute minimum. Instead of focusing on providing a generous, memorable experience. Plus, I was served a brown teacake when I would have preferred white. Uniform for the staff would be an improvement. Unlikely to return.

We ordered our Early Bird Brrakfast and waited for it to be cooked from fresh Oh my, when it arrived it looked wonderful, not greasy at all. The sausages were of excellent quality, bacon perfect and portion size was spot on. The staff are all polite, very friendly and the restaurant is airy and immaculately clean. This restaurant is a little gem

When out shopping we occasionally visit the Palm House restaurant. We have always found the standard of food on offer very good with a wide selection of home cooked hot meals as well as other choices . There is also a ‘help yourself’ vegetable area once you have collected your main dish served at the hot food counter. Two brothers apparently run the kitchen and service has always been welcoming and portions generous. There is a spacious , but basic indoor seating area plus alternative areas outside for summer use. The chairs are comfortable. Dogs are not allowed which many will welcome. Obviously dog owners would probably avoid this restaurant. Overall the quality of the home cooked food and the friendly service makes this a good value lunch stop. Breakfasts and afternoon teas are also available. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant although you can pop in for drinks.

This cafe was possibly the worst one I have visited in a long time. The atmosphere was soulless. The decor grim and not at all conducive to a relaxing drink. We were herded into an area for seating half cafe space had been made unavailable by chairs being stacked up. The outside seating was sparse uk inviting and dirty. Considering it was a plant nursery no tables had a clear view of the plants available. The tea was lukewarm and had to be drunk quickly. Tea for two should be two pots plus a pot of hot water. Not one pot and a jug that did little to keep the water hot. The only good thing was the bake well slice which was excellent. Staff were unenthusiastic and indifferent. Definitely will not be going back there.

We were at Manor Nursery and could smell some fantastic aromas coming from the restaurant, so we decided to have lunch there. We certainly didn't make a mistake. The portions were good, vegetables cooked to perfection and really hot. The steak pie was a melt in the mouth experience, absolutely excellent!! The quiche was fantastic, really tasty and being in house made, shows the quality being served. Really loved eating here and highly recommend.

What a find! Just moved to Pagham and we were out in search of conservatory furniture when we spotted the cafe. We both had suet pudding and it was delicious, hot, plenty of filling. Extra gravy ,help yourself to veg and potatoes all for a great price. Team were really lovely and very helpful both front of house and the chefs who serve from the counter. Found the whole experience delightful and will return shortly, this place gives local pubs something to live up to!! ( Also found the furniture we were looking for and they delivered the next day). Met a friend here today for lunch.Hadn't been for a couple of years. I realize that social distancing etc is still in place but you can now eat inside. It looks univiting with scruffy hand written signs up,You are greeted by a blackboard lunch menu and a Breakfast Menu Board. The breakfast one doesn't show when it is served till...turns out 11.30am so why not take it down prior to 12.35 or put the times on there.?Orders were taken at the table by an unfriendly waitress(my friend also commented on this and she's usually pretty easy going). My tapwater came in a little plastic Trifle Dish thing .No cakes on offer, just 2 deserts.Cutlery had seen better days and food was just ok...tiny dry salad garnish with pannini. Topped Potato skins that my friend had looked better with a slightly bigger garnish.Prices are high for such a lacklustre experience .

Probably one of the best-kept secrets is their (pre-booked) Vintage Afternoon Tea. An outside/inside green space has been created where a lace cloth laid with pretty china awaits. Sandwiches to your taste, possibly the best fruit scones I've ever tasted and truly home-baked cakes. China tea pots contain ample leaf tea (with tea strainer!) and hot water on demand. A lovely, unpretentious, relaxing treat at a great price. You really should treat yourself - even in socially distanced times, which staff manage with ease.

On holiday in Pagham we noticed the garden center, we turned in and parked in the carpark ( it is gravel and can be a bit difficult to push a wheelchair over ). I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here. Even better as the portions are quite huge and we often take elderly relatives with small appetites, they are happy to serve you a small portion with a reduction in the price. The food at this restaurant is generally very good value. The Sunday roasts are good with lovely crispy parsnips and roast potatoes how I like them. Today we took my recently bereaved brother in law there for Sunday roast to cheer him up. We all paid at the check in point where you are allocated your table and your name ticked off the list we were told we had to pay there as we had booked for the carvery.. However we still had to go through the til area to get and pay for our drinks. My husband and I went through OK but when it was my brother in laws turn they queried if he had paid. He was confused by this question as we had all paid and indeed been told we had to pay when checking in. .He said YES he had paid but some staff member decided to check this out so kept him waiting while she queried this with the woman at the entrance and it all took so long his dinner went cold.He had to ask for it to be reheated in a microwave. As it happened he hardly ate it as he had been put off by the delay and the attitude. BY the time he got his we had half eaten ours.. It was a total waste of £9.95 and what was supposed to be a nice outing ruined. Not very pleased at all and all left very disappointed. Will not rush back.

Having bought stuff from the garden centre, we thought we'd have a coffee. It was just after midday - which was the signal to start Sunday lunches. There was a long queue and what seemed a laborious process of taking money on arrival (which fitted in with the manual cash registers - and equally elderly staff operating them - in the garden centre itself). All the tables were set up for lunch. Fortunately, it wasn't too cold and we sat outside. That might have been okay but the coffee machine was broken, which meant no Cappuccino and they couldn't do decaf. Just ordinary filter coffee. The scones were nice, though! It certainly seems popular although, as we left, the aroma and atmosphere reminded us of a school canteen! It's probably okay - just choose you time carefully and don't be in a hurry.

There is always a good choice of at least 6 main courses (none fried) as these vary every day - also they will freshly make up salads, sandwiches and rolls of your choice. What a lovely surprise it turned out to be. A group of four of us booked a table for four (it is essential to book as it is so popular) and enjoyed a superb carvery lunch at a very reasonable price. Customers ask for their meat, fish or vegetarian main course and help themselves to as many vegetables as they would like. The all in price (under £9) included a dessert. The food was beautifully cooked and enjoyed. A lovely dining experience - not a la carte but traditional home cooking at its best. The wine was also excellent. Sadly, we had already had lunch, but we were not disappointed to find that we could have a cup of tea and cake. The staff and service were excellent and nothing seem to be too much bother. The tea was delightful, proper tea, not a teabag job, and the coffee and walnut cake was wonderful. Sitting in the restaurant, looking out onto the beautiful plants was very relaxing.Looking forward to going back very soon

The Palm House Restaurant is very good for a midweek lunch. The specials of the day choices are excellent. We chose the minted lamb with dumplings, it was delicious, as was the steak & kidney pie that another member of our party had. A good selection of vegetables too. Everything cooked perfectly. Highly recommended and would happily return when in Chichester again. Does get very busy due to its obvious popularity.

Since leaving the Pub Trade I have been going to various Nurseries for my Cuppa, not only have I found a Cuppa but also a Lunch which is a plus, most of the food offered is the traditional Pies and Stews and a Carvery on Sundays, One should get there early because it is very busy and on a SUNDAY it is best to book, then after a meal a look round the NURSERY is a plus there is also a Florist in the Nursey. It does make a nice change from the 40 plus years in Pubs.

Be clear this is a café/restaurant as an integral part of a garden centre which delightfully has no ambitions to be anything more. It's good value for money, the staff are charming & the food fresh and well cooked - the breakfasts especially are worth driving miles out of your way for. The whole place has a slightly rustic rural ambience as you sit inside what is really a giant green house. So much more pleasant than the newer noisy garden/retail centres that resemble airport terminals.I just fear that one day it will be torn down & rebuilt into something modern and vulgar, so it gets my full support and that of many friends by visiting weekly if possible.

We've been visiting here for years for Saturday brunch with friends and its great value and a good environment. Went with business colleagues earlier this month for coffee and that was fine too.

I have been to the very popular Palm House on many occasions for coffee & cake and have also had lunch there. It has always been good value with high quality food. Today we decided to try the early bird breakfast, at £5.50 each for a full English breakfast including coffee it was great value for money. The only thing that I found off putting was the amount of flabby white fat on the bacon (a small amount is to be expected; either trim it off or crisp it up!). I would still highly recommend it, but personally won't be having the bacon again!

This amazing little place has consistently provided breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas for millions of locals over the year who keep going back for more so that says a lot to me! Excellently cooked fresh food, with an exciting changing menu provides a hidden little gem of a place! Often busy The palm house is well known for offering quality catering, without the hidden charges. They may not be silver service, but the staff are watchful and willing to help if you need it. It's clean and wholesome and of course the added bonus is you can have a glass of wine or whatever your favourite tipple is with your meal.Try the Welsh Rarebit on milk bread!

A great little place, especially if you get in early. They have an 'early bird' offer from 10.00 but I am not sure if I benefited from this or not. For £10.50 I got 2 x 187cl 'bottles of wine', a mug of coffee and a full English breakfast with local sausages.. I was entertained by a robin flying around who was quite immune to the fake birds of prey hanging from the girders, presumably to frighten them off. Apart from this wonderful breakfast I could have chosen a simple cake and coffee. All the cakes looked very good and the roast lunches too.

The Palm House is justly popular. Even midweek it is always busy. The food ranges from competent breakfast to full on roast dinners with a good range of alternatives at various prices. Also good for afternoon tea with lethal cakes!Special mentions go to the ciabata based lunches with marinated olives and salad and to the delicious creme brulee. We use the Palm House a lot and, apart from family, I have also taken business friends there when a more formal meal would have been innapropriate.

This restaurant serves good wholesome food at a reasonable price. Not quite waitress service (although this is available for larger groups), in that you see what is available and order at the counter and pay, and then your meal is brought to you. The seating and tables are failrly basic but comfortable and the restaurant itself is in a glasshouse extension of the Manor Nursery Garden Centre. It can get busy in high summer.

My wife booked a small family gathering here to celebrate my 60th birthday. They arranged a lovely table for 10 and a high chair for our new grandson. Everyone enjoyed the scrumptious roasts and hot and cold desserts - all for less than £10 a head. Food and service was first-class. Nothing can quite compare to a home-cooked Sunday lunch - but this comes close!

Popped in for lunch following a walk to the Halnaker Windmill. Managed to get the last table available. I had the "lunchtime" size fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas and my partner had the gammon, egg and chips. Both were very good. The "lunchtime" size fish and chips was a perfect size. My partner then had the crumble and ice cream and I had a mini version with custard and a flat white coffee. All very good too. Friendly staff and a great menu. A good selection of alcohol free beers. Definitely one to visit again when in the area, would book in advance.

We popped in without a reservation on a Saturday lunchtime and luckily they had a table for us. The pub was buzzing with happy people, clearly lots of locals too which is always a good sign. We had three courses - hadn’t planned to but the food was just soooo good! The prawn cocktail was the best we’ve ever had, and mains were delicious. OH had sea bass and I had lambs liver. Both served piping hot and with fresh veg. One of my main beefs is when food isn’t hot enough. Not so here, well done Berkeley Arms. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for too. We live 20 mins away but we’ll most definitely be back!

We often visit this Greggs whilst shopping in Chichester as their sausage rolls are the best. As I don’t drink dairy milk, in the past I’ve always had soya in little cartons. My husband asked for oat milk (my favourite) and to my pleasant surprise Greggs now offer oat milk as an alternative. So my order was for an Americano with oat milk on the side. My husband also mentioned “on the side”. This is because I don’t take much so need to add it myself. So when the lady served an Americano with oat included (frothed up, yuk) (Since when does an Americano have warm frother milk in it?) I said, no I ordered oat milk on the side. Stroppy cow said she didn’t hear that (we said it twice) and that anyway they don’t serve oat milk on the side. So I’ve paid for a coffee that I can’t drink as it’s too milky. I really expected her to say “sorry madam, let me do another one for you”. I mean, for the sake of customer satisfaction, just pour it away and serve me what I’ve asked for! Is it too much to ask to have oat milk on the side? This is a first for us. Every other coffee establishment we visit serves it cold, and on the side when asked. She has no customer skills at all. A right stroppy cow. We were disgusted.

Have visited before and we came again for a pre theatre lunch. I opted for the tandoori trout which was cooked just right and tasted lovely. My husband had 3 fab sausages in his sausages and mash and said it tasted delicious. Really good service and friendly staff too. We will return on a Friday for the fish and chips deal. Highly recommended.
