Called in here on Sunday intending to have a meal but were made to feel very unwelcome. Staff looked stressed and were not particularly friendly. We were charged £2.40 for half a pint of blackcurrant cordial with tap water! There was only one table with available seats and it did have cutlery on it, but as there was no where to stand we sat there. We were curtly told that the table was reserved and as another couple left we were ushered to their vacated table. One of the servers trampled on my friend’s foot and never apologised or even acknowledged it. We sat feeling very uncomfortable while the staff discussed their private lives right beside us. We will not be returning

Hustled to the bar for Sunday lunch - The main room was all shut off. Waitress told us what was OFF the menu. Only one veggie option - a beetroot wrapped in pastry. The gravy was lovely though. The broccoli was yellow. We went home for pudding. Sadly a disappointing experience for a birthday celebration in a stuffy room with no atmosphere ☹️

Beautiful old pub dating back to 1593. Good beers and ales. Solid pub food , portions hearty. One point about the service, it is genuinely friendly, on the day suffered from some kitchen meltdown so food taken 45 minutes to arrive but we were told about it and went ahead so no complaints

Waited an hour for a sausage bap and had to get a refund, didn't get told there was a 30 min wait, it's a shame as I've eaten there before but the service received today was not well informed. If you needed cold snacks, drinks, cakes etc you would be fine but cooked food no. Location is nice.

Visited whilst moored on my narrowboat. Very friendly and efficient staff, I had the 8oz burger which was very nice. The Pedigree was well kept and Ziva ( my dog) was given a treat by staff. A 10 minute walk from the canal and well worth it!

When in Stratford, particularly when I am on my own, I love to drop in to Del Café.... I love the chilli con carne, and it's grat to have the option of a glass of wine ( or beer) with it....so many cafés are tea and coffee and soft drinks only. Better value than a pub, and has a more vibrant feel. Cakes are great too! Give it a try, if you can grab a table.....but you never have to wait long!
