The best restaurants serving British food in England

The food was so tasty! Staff was super friendly, funny and polite! The goat cheese with redbeet salsa is my ultimate favorite! The green olives were quite raw/fresh, we would prefer other type but these were good too. Overall amazing food and vibe, I definitely recommend!

Very nice breakfast, friendly service. Can be busy

I was extremely shocked when I asked for a pot of hot water with my tea to be told I would have to pay £1 for extra hot water (I don’t have milk as drink my tea black). I have been to lots of cafes and never been charged for extra hot water .. in fact in the majority of cafes you are given a pot without asking. The waitress was so apologetic and admitted she was embarrassed having to tell customers. I feel it is totally unnecessary and next time I visit Pooley Bridge I’ll take my custom elsewhere.

We have visited a couple of times. Lovely fish and chips. I really enjoyed my meal. My mum ordered the gluten free haddock. She thought it was delicious. She has really missed good fish and chips. We will definitely be visiting again 😊

Had birthday lunch. Very good food. Best mussels I’ve had in ages. Scallop serving size (2 very small ones) was a little disappointing.

Nice photo. A refreshing stop on a long cycle ride. Nice range of ice cream, which went down well with the girls.

Staff go above and beyond, food exceptional! Catered well for a large family booking. We went a year later for my mum's 81st birthday again. Food was delicious again, staff were wonderful. The waiting time was very long but they were short staffed and very busy. Thank you for hosting us again.

Came in for a late dinner, was warned of the time service shut multiple times to make sure we could get our orders in on time. Decor and atmosphere was lovely. Wine list was extensive and had great choices. We got quite a few small dishes between us and were all very tasty. Would definitely recommend!

First time visiting The Pantry Fine Foods and as the saying goes, it does what it says (on the tin) ... best summed up as a hint of USA but the best of Brit versions of USA food which remains, better than actual USA scran. It's easy to understand why the place was packed...but the service was, spot on. Go and enjoy the enthusiastic servers and clearly, most capable chefs who worked tirelessly to maintain obvious satisfaction throughout the restaurant.

The service was wonderful and very fast! The food was delicious and served seemingly immediate from being cooked. Will hopefully visit again soon.

Tiny portions and bland atmosphere

Never disappoints. Food lush, friendly staff, will keep coming. Husband had Corned beef pie with chips n peas n I had sizzling chicken fajitas with salad and chips..both hot n tasty. Oh n the onion rings🤤

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way home, we had booked a table online an hour or so before We arrived to the table set and with a high chair as we had requested, and a friendly member of staff took our food and drinks order Food arrived very promptly and was very tasty and served pipping hot. Good value for the food Pub was spotlessly clean, and all the service was friendly and efficient Will return to try something more than just a quick lunch
