Went for Sunday lunch with family. Lovely roast dinner and dessert, staff very accommodating and attentive. Highly recommended!

Went to the pub for a night out with friends it was a great night friendly staff and a good atmosphere

We had our wake here for my mom. The staff were amazing . Really helpful. The good was delicious. Mom had a lovely send off .I recommend the star highly for any event .

Had Sunday lunch at The Star, Great Wyrley, The atmosphere, staff and food were all excellent. It's the best meal out I've had in the past 2 years. I will definitely visit again very soon.

Booked for Sunday lunch for a large party of people to celebrate a 30th wedding anniversary. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Made it a lovely celebration for us. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Pre booked to be told not enough food, then kitchen closed for puddings… very disappointing Christmas night out, won’t come here again!

Me, my wife, daughter (4) and son (8 months) visited here for the Grinch party. We have to say that the service from the staff was spot on and the gentleman at the bar also switched the football on for me. My daughter had a great time and we made some lovely memories. The drinks and food were also good. I would definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you very much for making us feel very welcome, and putting on a great Grinch PaRtY. See you soon.

Held my Mom's wake here. Food was good & so was the service. Staff were friendly and not overbearing, they did not rush us throughout the meal. Thanks to Emma & her staff, keep up the good work.

Always welcoming, even though I rarely visit as now live out of the area. They even remember my drink of choice! Superb food too and always busy so book ahead!

Well first time visiting don't usually do pubs. Nice little place. Only thing I didn't like is the staff had to sit in-between the toilets and the smoking room to eat their lunch. When the whole Restaurant was completely empty. It just looked wrong . Apart from that the place is OK 👍

Made very welcome on arrival. Immediately seated. Drinks offered & served quickly. Very pleasant atmosphere. Food excellent & plentiful. Would visit again

We have eaten here many times and would always have reviewed 5 star but sadly this was not the case on our visit Friday we waited 45 minutes for starter and items ordered not available side order missed off the order very long waiting periods between courses Certainly not we have come to expect from this establishment hopefully it was just a one off

We booked the conservatory part of the pub for my wife's 60th Birthday for family and friends and also took advantage of their table decorating service . The room looked fabulous and Emma and the team made us all feel welcome The service of food was excellent amazing portions and very tasty and everyone commented on how good the food was Emma was amazing in making sure everyone had what they needed and felt more like a friend to us than a manager . If you are thinking of holding an event I can't recommend this place more Highley!!! Afterwards they held a games night which was good fun even though I didn't win anything 😂. Overall I would definitely recommend The Star not only for a family gathering but any time you fancy a lovely home cooked meal and a refreshing drink. Once again thank you to all at the Star for an amazing evening and a big thank you to Emma she really is a credit to yourselves!!!

Table booked for 7pm but arrived by 6.30pm to have a drink first. Shown straight to our table which was reserved ready for us. Drinks received promptly and food ordered. Pleasant and happy to help from the start. Food fine and quite prompt considering it was freshly cooked. Waited for the dessert but was happy at the portion size . Toilets are really clean and fresh. Would consider coming here again.

We were let down by a venue after a funeral so 18 of us went to the star. They were very welcoming.we all had meals. The food and the service was realy good.

What a disappointing experience we had during a visit for Sunday Lunch to The Star Public House ,GT Wyrley on Sunday 10 Sept 2023, the table was booked for 1 O'clock and we arrived on time. We were taken to our table, our drinks order was taken and was told there would be a delay for our food. We accepted this occurrence and then waited 41 mins for the food to arrive. After finishing our Sunday Lunch we decided to choose sweet but before this happened a waitress came and told us that we had to move from our table and could go to a table in the bar. She explained that we had used our 2 hour Quota for Sunday Lunch. On previously booking this table in person A time restriction was never mentioned. The 41 mins delay was not our fault and we were absolutely disgusted about being asked to move before the completion of our meal, It was a complete embarrassment to us as this booking included relatives who had travelled several miles for the visit. We paid our bill of over £ 80 and without choosing our sweet and coffee's We left never to return

Food was lovely but having a one hour wait is unacceptable, the manager told me our food was not ordered until 15.20, absolutely correct. We booked our table for 15.00. No apology, she was so rude. After eating at the star for quite a number of years we have decided it’s not for us anymore especially after we were told we were being arsey and did we still want our food.

Booked here for my mom and dad’s celebration meal!! 25 people and 3 courses! The staff couldn’t do enough for us they were amazing!! Food was amazing and the selection of drinks were brilliant. I can’t praise the staff enough everyone of them where super helpful and we had a lovely time:

We spent 3 days in Cannock as a golfing society and visited the The Star Inn for the 1st time and visited each night and were made most welcome and had a great time As this is an annual event of ours we will certainly recommend a visit and we will be back next August for sure

Nice pub, the front outside area could be better needs tidying up glass on the floor and weeds, could do with some decking, nice pint tho 👍🏻

Had a birthday lunch with my grandchildren here. What a lovely find! Prices very reasonable, pub nicely decorated and clean and the food was really good. I'll be back. Maybe a Sunday lunch next time.

Came here for an afternoon tea with my granddaughter’s as a treat for them .it was fantastic value for money the food was delicious.The staff very attentive with happy smiling faces making you want to return to this establishment. I have visited several times now always made to feel welcome.I would fully recommend to pay a visit. Well done the staff at the star with a lovely assistant manager who helped me out with a query about my booking.

Came here for Sunday dinner as a family of 9 for the first time. The food was delicious and really quick even though they were fully booked. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be returning for future meals.

Had my 50th birthday celebrations here. They decorated the table and chairs beautifully. Service from all the staff from booking to on the day was superb and faultless. Food was delicious. Had a wonderful day celebrating here. Would highly recommend :)

This is an average pub which serves the community well. Good menu, with nothing unexpected. Faggots were lovely, although had to wait quite a while for the food to arrive (and pub wasn't busy). Several drinks were missed off the order. Everyone was pleased with their meals.

Absolutely delicious food and very generous portions.

Parking is difficult. However in my first review I omitted to say that the food is good and the staff were marvelous.

We came here last Wednesday 7/6/23 as my daughter who is 6 loves the cheese and potato pie, was gutted to find they had took it off the kids menu but the lovely lady requested if they would do a small portion which they was happy to oblige to. Then we returned today again after my daughters request to be told if she was to have a cheese and potato pie we would have to pay for the adult price, which we was happy to do, for it to arrive with numerous pieces of hair in, we complained and a new one was brought out, my daughter at this point had been put off and barely ate any of it, in which we complained and didn't think it was fair to pay for a meal that hadn't been eaten through there mistake, when they tried to deduct it off the bill it took 3 members off staff to attempt to do this, I was then stood by the kitchen waiting for my daughter to use the restrooms and could loudly and clearly hear the chef talking about us the customers and basically stag us off how it was apparently fabrics of clothes and not hair and how we were the rude ones to ask for a refund on that meal, clearly no customer service at all. We are customers that have used this pub for numerous years, but since the change of staff there is no customer care, respect or anything and we will not be retuning, we got an apology of a member of staff who had nothing to do with the situation.

Was hoping the quiz was back on but not there yet. Food was great as always and good value for money. Staff lovely.

As ever nothing was too much for the staff, the food was excellent as ever and a great evening was had by all. We have been visiting the Star for a number of years and never been disappointed. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful afternoon tea for under a tenner. Very good value for money, assorted sandwiches, pork pie, warm sausage roll, chutney followed by a good selection of cakes , topped off with the usual jam & clotted cream scone! Coffee or tea to wash it all down. Would highly recommend.

The pub looks great and for a pub had a good varied selection of tasty sounding meals. We went for a birthday celebration at 1pm and despite there being several people there having”afternoon tea” which needed no cooking involved we were the only people dining, and it still took over an hour and half for starters to come out, and another hour for mains. We couldn’t have desserts as we hadn’t got time! However food was hot and tasty albeit served by a miserable waitress!

Lovely staff, good atmosphere, tasty main meals but the dessert wasn't the best on my last occasion. Overall, well worth a visit. Update: visited again on 11th March 2023 a few years since my last visit. Didn't eat this time but the staff are just as lovely and the atmosphere is good.

Fantastic meal for a Saturday lunch. The food was amazing and the staff are really friendly, we had a fabulous time! It's great to go somewhere where you can feel relaxed and eat fantastic food.

Delicious food, friendly staff and no shortage of choice from the menu, also, plenty of choice behind the bar too! We both chose the same meal, chip shop platter, it came out piping hot and the presentation was fantastic, felt like a kid in a sweet shop, we'll definitely return, as we have over the years, awesome 👌
