First time here last Sunday ,5of us ,all had a roast ,was excellent 👌 best Sunday dinner around ,booking again for 7☺️ tomorrow,so tasty 😋

Nice historic pub, I am over 6ft, so can advise there are some low beams and doors! Staff were welcoming, food is excellent and very good value. We will be back.

Traditional old Wombourne pub. Compact and bijou with fairly dated decor - you could say it's part of it's charm.

Having recently moved back to Wombourne it was wonderful to reacquaint with the Red Lion and now visit quite frequently. The Lion has great food and a great pint of Enville and wonderful staff. Not been here for a few years but popped in tonight during our walk with the dog....made to feel really welcome, VERY dog friendly and will be back to try out the food! Genuine traditional pub with good choices of Ales!

Had a nice well deserved pint when out hiking on a warm day. Lovely friendly staff. Has more outdoor space than I realised . Shame it's not open in the day on a Monday and Tuesday.

Great beer, good quality steak, cooked to perfection, friendly ambiance, traditional, comfortable setting.

It had been some time since I had last visited the Red Lion, tucked away on the outskirts of the vibrant village of Wombourne and I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed. Although only popping in for a quiet drink there were quite a number of people in the separate dining area all enjoying a comprehensive array of homemade dishes in a wonderfully clean and well organised restaurant. The bar area is spacious, simple in its decor but very comfortable. Fine well presented beers & ciders were on offer and their quality was matched equally by the excellent friendly staff and locals. A really pleasant experience, I will definately return again soon. Well done Red Lion.

My wife and I eat at the Red Lion regularly, which in itself is a recommendation. You don't go back if you are dissatisfied. This is a pub and as such serves pub food which always good and reasonably priced. Gary and his team always make us welcome. If the food is good then the beer is excellent, just the place to drop in for pint in front of the fire

Had a lovely meal... the food is all home made it was delicious... the staff are lovely and its so clean which is also a bonus will 100% recommend.

We use their takeaway service every Sunday. Lou is a great advocate for the pub who just can’t do enough for you when providing this service. The food is great, the meats are all proper tasty joints with loads of gravy served in a separate pot and plentiful. Two types of potatoes, four types of vegetables and such great value for money. Totally recommend this pub and if you need something for ageing parents or grand parents whilst isolating then this is the way to go .... such a great service and so reasonable 👏🤘

Chose the Red Lion by mistake but we were more than impressed with our meals. They were beautiful. Lovely little pub only a few people in there today but still a great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

We visit different pubs every weekend for meals thought we would try here today lovely country pub but the food was not good at all the steak was tough and tasted like cheep meat the pepper sauce was very watery with no taste and the chips was very dry won't be eating here again

My first visit to the Red Lion, and very impressed. Situated in a quiet " lay by" and a typical old pub full of character. Very pleasant staff, and good wholesome food. Only critism is there didn't seem much choice for vegetarians like myself. Would certainly recommend the Red Lion, and look forward to returning. Only live couple of miles away over the border!

Lovely old fashioned pub, lovely staff who make the effort to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Fantastic value food and drink which is also delicious. The homemade stake pie is really tasty. Will continue to make regular visits.

Good pub food served by friendly staff in an atmosphere conducive to a good evening. Thoroughly recommend the Enville - surely one of the best of the local ales.

If you like your old English pubs, real ales and proper pub grub then the Red Lion is exactly the pub for you. The place is absolutely full of caracter, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We have eaten at the pub on a number of occasions and not once have we been disappointed. They have a large and varied menu which changes regularly, the food comes piping hot and you can tell it’s all fresh ingredients. Even if you’re not hungry the pub is ideal also for walkers who can pop in to quech their thirst and even welcomes dogs. I cannot recommend the place enough, best pub in Wombourne by a mile.

My usual pub when I come down to Wombourne to visit family. Cosy atmosphere of a traditional pub. Wide range of good quality food at reasonable prices. Staff always friendly. Good value and well worth a visit or two.

Good beer, Enville ale well worth sampling! Probably need two or three goes to get a real opinion.

No mushrooms, not even a grilled tomato?!! Steak was cooked perfectly so if its perfect cooked steak your looking for then I recommend but as my first choice of homemade steak and kidney pie was squashed because they ran out then that's what I went for. Hope u found this review useful.

Not been here before but will definitely be coming back here. We had a quiet lunch in the bar as dogs 🐶 are allowed in there. My wife had scampi whilst I had the steak and kidney pie. Both meals were very nice . Staff very friendly, bringing water for the dogs and pieces of meat . The enville ale was very good also. This looks a small place with a lot of character and charm . The food menu is a chalk board by the bar in the lounge . Will be coming back soon to update with more feedback.

So expensive. I had roasted cauliflower which came with a teaspoon smear of puree, a sprinkle of couscous and a piece of cauliflower. It cost £14. We thought it was a joke or that more food would be coming but no, £14 for a chunk of cauliflower. So disappointing.

What a fantastic rump steak. Far too big for my appetite and great value. The kebabs and salad dish was also very good. All washed down with a well kept selection of real ales so what’s not to like.

Passed this pub so many times and have been in. Glad to say we popped in for a lovely pint of ale. Booked a table for food the following week and wasn't disappointed. Don't get me wrong it's not the Ritz but good pub grub and value for money. Can't wait to go back.

Have visited several times for drinks and and decided to give the food a try the weekend and it didn't disappoint. I had the fish pie and my husband had the chicken burger. Excellent value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Went here for the second mothers day in a row and the home cooked food, service and beer was first class, could not fault it. Meat was carved off the joint (Not the case in many places), veg was cooked to perfection nice and crunchy. Would I recommend this place...... deffo !! well worth a visit.

Very attractive historic little pub set off the main road into Wolverhampton. Just had one of the best sirloin steaks I've had for ages; husband had a superb fillet. Good selection of beers to go with the steaks. Keep the pub in mind if you're in the area. Children and dogs welcome.

Fue una reserva tardía para el día de la madre, ya que no podía llegar en cualquiera de nuestros lugares habituales, así que mis expectativas no eran muy altas, pero me equivocado! ! Teníamos 3 asados del domingo (2 x 1 x carne de cordero), que llegó caliente y deliciosa. El personal era muy amable y nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos junto con los lugareños.

Was a sper of the moment visit. But we really really enjoyed and said will defiently be going back asap!! Food was the best I have had in a long time. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in there and we ended up just talking the night away. Staff was also very friendly. See you soon

Este podría ser un pub Índeed goldmine, debería ser. Gran locación, precioso edificio, aparcamiento propio. Sin embargo, totalmente carente de todos los departaments. Yo vivo a una corta distancia en coche, pero no vayas allí. La última vez, hace unas semanas, éramos las únicas personas en el lugar pero no hay esfuerzos para conectar con nosotros por la camarera. Qué pena.

Called in after long journey one Saturday evening. Personally I didn't want much to eat but needed something. Spaghetti bolognese on menu and I ordered it. Just what the doctor ordered

Booked a table for 2 for Sunday Lunch, Had to wait 10-15 mins for our Sunday Roast. It was well worth it. I had the lamb which melted in my mouth, my friend had the chicken. We then proceeded to argue about who had the best meal. It's my second visit there and i will be going again shortly. I think visitors ought to think about the price they're paying against what they're getting. It is not the savoy, but if you're looking for lovely home cooked meals at a reasonable price i recommend it.

Nos paramos para el almuerzo a eso de las 12.15 pm. No hay luces o señales de vida en la cocina, así que preguntamos si había comida disponible. Dijeron que era, así que pedimos un menú y dirigidas a la junta de tiza en la zona inclinada. Mi pareja pidió la casero torta de carne y patatas fritas. Quince minutos más tarde fue servido en un plato de cerámica que fue red hot, pero cuando ella comenzó a comer el pastel en sí era muy fría. Llevé al cocinar en la cocina que estaba muy sorprendido y dijo: "Oh lo siento, el microondas debe ser en el blink." diez minutos después otra tarta, esta vez llegamos caliente pero lamentaban elegir la Red Lion para el almuerzo. Tuve la sobresaliente y patatas fritas, bien preparado, pero como con la comida de mi compañero, en porciones muy pequeñas de patatas fritas y guisantes. Yo había terminado mi comida por el momento su segunda tarta llegamos. No nos vamos a volver.
