Absolutely excellent service and meals all around, 30 of us booked for my husbands 40th Birthday, all meals arrived together, beautiful food, some people in our party had never been and now have become regulars as they didn't realise there was a local pub with such beautful home cooked food; portion sizes are more than enough, fresh home cooked food, we will be back again and again, thankyou for a lovely well organised evening for my husband

I can't give the food 5 stars as unfortunately the vegan burger was awful... However and this is where other places need to learn. The amazing staff, Lisa, came and spoke to me, asked if there was anything they could do to make things right and then asked if i wanted anything else when i said no thanks. I had sides so munched away on those. About 5 minutes went by and theb Lisa returned and to my shock the chef asked if i would come back again so they could cook for me again to try make sure i had a better/good experience. Could you ask for better service? I 100% will go here again as their attitude to customers and facing challenges head on with a positive and solution focused mindset creates a lovely environment to share meals with your friends and family. Thanks Lisa, safe to say we are going to be back soon!

The summer house has been taken over by some wonderful people who have made this pub wonderful again! The service is so friendly and you’re made to feel like you’re very welcome! They have made a fantastic ship in the garden for the children to be open soon! And the food oh the food is absolutely fantastic! I have navigated around the menu and you’re spoilt for choice! My favourite is the pie! You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely beautiful food and great staff service will definitely return great drink selection and a good variety of meals to choose from. And outside there is a loveley beer garden and park for kids to play on

I'm disabled and my wife has coeliac so when I found out they had a gluten free menu I phoned.The phone was answered promptly by a lovely women and I placed my order they arranged delivery and it arrived on time.The food was hot and tasty I was very impressed

I have never tasted a Sunday lunch as beautiful! I didn’t take a photo i was that eager to eat it!! Tasted great, the gravy & yorkies are out of this world. Fresh veg and soft melt in the mouth meat, thankyou to the summerhouse and the staff for a wonderful time I will be back next week x

Food is out of this world! Especially Sunday roasts. Quick service, portion sizes and quality of the food is 10/10.. this pub is my favourite place to go. Staff are cheerful and helpful. Doesn’t brake the bank even.. wide range of beer/spirits and a gluten free menu is also available which my friend was spoilt for choice (she chose the cod) I had the hunters chicken.. best I’ve ever tried! My daughter had a kids beef burger she demolished the lot(:

Last minute visit on a Sunday afternoon. As our local was busy. Fitted us in over phone. Table service not even aloud to order drinks at bar to allow choice. Ordered a chicken and bacon salad And a special Chicken Lasagne. Salad came out first basic a bed of iceberg lettuce tipped with a few slithers of wilted celery and a fancy cut spring onion. With a couple of slices of white cut loaf no butter. Chicken Lasagne came out looked OK till tried to eat it underneath all hard and burnt. Sent back Replacement wasn't much better and dry. And chips that looked like they been fried about five times. Offered a drink to then be told they had run out of all premium larger. Atmosphere is awful with grease musical soundtrack on repeat. Tbh doubtful shall return

went today for lunch gammon and eggs best ive ever tasted staff pleasent and great desserts crumble was delicious served piping hot ,beer selection great a nice welcoming pub rare these days 10/10

Honestly heard great reviews on this place and how nice the food is but to be honest the food was horrendous, the chilli had no taste what so ever put it this way if u were blindfolded and ask to describe it you would probably say oh its dog food also the cheese and potato pie tasted just like instant mash with no cheese in it and the chips were burnt to crisps salad on one meal was a lettuce leaf and some grated carrot 🤦 service wasnt all good either i think some staff training should be given and highly recommended, one waitress had long false nails with gem stones all on them not hygienic and no personality and the man that delivered our table he had as much personality as a dead fish no atmosphere, no warm friendly staff absolutely shocking we as a family wont be returning

Yet another wonderful morning out for the family. Easter brunch consisted of fantastic food, entertainment (in the form of characters for the children, decorations, Easter colouring competition and an Easter egg hunt) and just general merriment. Children were gifted with full sized easter eggs and just had the best time.We amended food orders, and were a huge party, but nothing was too much trouble. 100% recommend

We went to the Easter Brunch on 30th March with family and it was amazing, Amy and the staff really went above and beyond to make it special for the children and adults 😊 the food on the brunch menu was amazing I had the breakfast wrap and it was delicious (the food always is here) my husband had the all day breakfast and the children had freshly made pizza and chicken nuggets and chips, the deserts were delicious with plenty of choice so everyone was happy. The children all did an Easter egg hunt and also received an egg off the Easter bunny. We will definitely do this again, we highly recommend it and the breakfast with Santa at Christmas too. Thank you for such a lovely time.

We visited the summerhouse just before Easter 2024. We didnt make a booking as we decided last minute, A table of 10 was set up for us very quickly and every one of us enjoyed our experience. (Friday 29th March at 7pm-ish) Food was amazing from hunters chicken, to pork steaks, double cheese burgers and serlion steaks. The portion sizes were huge and value for money. Everything was cooked to perfection. The back bar was beautiful, clean and newly refurbished. The staff were so friendly, polite and happy to help. Definitely a place I will recommend and will visit again.

Friday night family gathering, we were welcomed by the lovely summerhouse staff, very helpful and polite. Wide variety of drinks and Food. The food....wow wow wow Taste sensation! Big portions and good value for money! Recommend a visit to this place!

Wow blown away by this friendly local pub. Chanced upon The summerhouse after a visit to Wild zoological park,hungry but in need of real food not fast junk food. An extensive menu ,great portion sizes including the childrens dishes. Cooked fresh and on the table in less than half an hour. Will definitely visit again.

We did not have a good experience! Shared starter arrived after the first dish was produced. Broccoli bake was tasteless and the salad (of which content was queried prior to ordering) consisted of 1 lettuce leaf, a quarter of tomato and rocket leaves. This was filled out with chips which were not ordered! Needless to say - we won't be returning!

Had been to the summer house since before covid, We booked a table and was sat in the bar area, which we loved, lovely atmosphere, the food was delicious, cooked to perfection 👌shall definitely be going back again. All the staff were so friendly, made us feel very welcome. Hope they bring back the kids play area so we can bring the grandchildren in the summer, it was lovely looking at the horses in the joining field while having a nice drink. All in all for everything 5 stars all the way

Dined here this afternoon with my mother in law and best friend.We decided to go for the set course valentines menu...AND JUST 👌 WOW .There was so many beautiful dishes on the menu we were stuck for choice! I went for the lollipop chicken and my friend chose the prawns to start...mother in law wanted soup which was not on the menu but they were happy enough to accommodate and out came a big bowl of homemade vegetable soup with a toasted roll❤️for mains we had the pork belly and the blade of beef both meals were outstanding ❤️both dishes tasted amazing ,the portions were huge and amazing value! The freebie cheeky chocolates that were on the table tasted beautiful 2! Thank you to all the staff for a perfect afternoon xxxi know the pic is upside down but don't know how to rotate it🤣🤣🤣was delicious n the crackling was amazing!!!

Perfect! Just perfect, the staff couldn't do enough for us especially Lisa and Macie (hope weve spelt your names correctly?) The food was unreal, fresh and home cooked, the pizza bar too, what a great idea, soooo tasty, we asked for garlic mayo with the pizza and the chef made his own!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!! 👌😀 The atmosphere was lovely, what a traditional and cosy pub, well done guys, we'll be back for a takeaway Sunday dinner on Sunday 😄👏 xx

We all had a lovely evening at Summerhouse, we were all made to feel very welcome, the hospitality from Andy and all the staff working yesterday was fab, so professional, polite and efficient no one could have done anything different from the minute we arrived until we left. The food was delicious and very tasty, everyone had something different and it all arrived together. Thank you for a lovely and relaxed time, we definitely recommend Summerhouse and look forward to returning again soon. We wish Andy, Donna and all of their staff all the very best 😍

Been to Summerhouse tonight I had a Sirlion which was cooked to perfection and presentation was excellent. My husband had the Gammon and that was perfect as well . Service was excellent and atmosphere. The Summer House is a Gem

First time dining here with a table of 4 of us. We ordered both starters and mains. The food was all beautiful. We would highly recommend this place to eat. The new landlady was lovely and nothing seemed to much trouble

I went I with Mom to celebrate my birthday 🎂 the food was amazing. We both had the "Chargrilled Gammon" it was beautiful. The prices were good too, with a wine -spritzer and a cranberry drink and the two main meals it cost £26 which I thought was great value for two people. Fantastic home cooked food in this quaint pub on the edge of greenbelt close to baggeridge park. Staff very friendly which creates a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended

We booked a table for lunch for four of us and this was the first time we have tried this pub. The lounge was very Christmassy and we were greeted in a very welcoming and friendly. manner. The food was delicious , the portions very good and were served up by another friendly member of staff. The atmosphere was very friendly and the background music not intrusive. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and would recommend The Summerhouse as a very friendly pub with very good food.f

Hands down one of the best places I’ve been to! We hadn’t booked a table and managed to accommodate us by letting us sit down by the bar and still order food. The food was absolute sublime and would easily be on par with mums home cooked Christmas dinner. Fantastic service, fantastic value for money and the service was unreal. We shall be back!

Today I have a beautiful Sunday lunch. The lamb melted in ur mouth. All fresh. As soon as I walked into the door the staff greeted me and couldn’t do enough. If u want a nice Sunday lunch great price and amazing for money then it is a must.

I went to the summer house and as soon as I walked into the door the staff were inviting. The food was fresh and presented amazing. Overall I would recommend this pub and would tell everyone to try it.

Lovely family run pub. It can be quite hectic during busy times but it doesn't spoil your experience. The food is great and the specials menu is rather nice and has great choices. I really don't like chain pubs and much rather go to a pub like this.

This review is not so much about the food which was ok but about a phone call. I called up 2 days after dining there with 10 others asking if they'd found a bank card, the young girl who answered said she would go & ask after listening to customers & bar staff for 23 minutes l heard a women's voice saying oh someone's on the phone when l spoke she just put the phone down on me, l tried calling back immediately but it rang until it went to a message from BT. I found the way my call was dealt with extremely rude! Maybe training in communications would help this business

A very nice Sunday lunch, very cheap and it's a great pub

Been for Sunday lunch today, very disappointed. It’s not the same since the old manager is no longer there! I’m guessing they have had a change of chef too. The Sunday dinners are no way near as good as they used to be! My husband had fish and chips and again this was disappointing! The fish is thinner and so is the batter. Smaller meals and the same price. Will not be returning! We were there almost every Sunday 🥲🥲

4 of us went for lunch today, ideal sized meals for smaller appetites at £6. Very tasty and well cooked. Table service was excellent. Larger meals looked great too will lovely selection to suit all tastes. Will be returning regularly, already booked for 2weeks time

Didn't have a table booked here for lunchtime but the staff were really helpful and polite. We were shown to a table and then we were left to look at the menus, once our order was taken there was about a 20 min wait on the food but it was beautiful the potions are good and the food tasted lovely. It was good value for money too.

Can the bottle of wine we bought be chilled next time rather than luke warm.

Embarrassed to say it was the 1st time in over 25 years I'd visited,don't know why, but was I happy lovely food in beer garden lovely drinks too the whole place was fantastic highly recommend deserves 5*
