Fantastic place in the heart of the village. Great choice of ales and beers and other drinks. Helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful dinning room available for hire.

Popped in during the Euros. Great service, good selection of drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately they have stopped serving food. Still a really nice pub with really good staff and nice beer though. This is a really good restaurant. Booking is recommended, but if you're eating early they will try to fit you in. Only a few tables, so service is excellent and the food is top notch. Downstairs it's a proper pub with occasionally live music. I've been twice and it's been a memorable experience both times. It's the sort of place that deserves to be on everyone's radar if they like good food.

We booked Sunday lunch based on a friends review of the dinner. Hands down the best Sunday dinner we’ve had out. The food and service was unbelievable, we can’t wait to come back and have been telling everyone we know how amazing the food was.

We booked Sunday lunch and WOW it was fabulous! Can’t fault a single thing Excellent food and excellent service We had the beef , just pink and perfect, all the vegetables were cooked to perfection We asked for extra gravy ( just in case for-the huge Yorkshire puddings )

Cracking Sunday lunch provided here, the Chef and his team are certainly first class, everything homemade and the Yorkshire Puddings the size of a football. Service also very good and food is priced well. Will be back! Thanks Chef and Team!

Had a Sunday lunch with my family whereby 2 had the vegan option. Both were described as delicious but the ratatouille pie with tomato sauce, a chief special, was a fabulous alternative for a Sunday lunch that was very flavoursom 😁✨

Great atmosphere, local friendly pub with a good selection of wine beers lagers and spirits, food does seem to have stopped now apart from Thursday nights pizza van or sonic believe. Best to ring prior to make arrangements.

From the moment I booked it Helena the marketing manager could not have been more helpful and accommodating as I tried to navigate a few fussy eaters in my family around a set menu, honestly nothing was too much trouble for them. The service from the waiting staff was outstanding, so polite and professional and again every extra request that I asked for was welcomed and sorted with a smile. It was clear to me how hard the kitchen staff must have worked to pull off a busy day for them and I was concious that they had given up Christmas Day with their families to make sure everyone had the most perfect meal so I would like to thank them again for that. Beautiful home cooked produce in a truly lovely setting and all the staff made our Christmas Day one to remember. 👌🏻❤️🎄

The best Sunday roast we have ever had! The carrot soup to start was incredible. We had the beef and lamb for main and everything was cooked to perfection. Really tasty, couldn’t fault a thing. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also amazing. All the staff were very friendly and we will definitely be returning.

Having visited the pub on a couple of occasions over the last few weeks since we moved to Pattingham, we really looked forward to our first Sunday lunch. Why would you look forward to a Sunday lunch in a pub? We had heard it was amazing but for us you could eat with a dog in tow. Those with dogs eat in the bar area. It was great to eat with other families with dogs. We had two amazing dinners for less than £20 each. The beef featherblade which was braised just dropped off the fork and into your mouth. Our Charlie the dog was desperate for a bite. The lamb and roasties were on a par and wouldn’t go a miss in a Michelin rated place. Service was superb by waitress Katelyn and she was quick to Recomend the Sticky Toffee pudding which truly was to die for. The pub service was brilliant in a very busy place. A bottle of house red which again was superb at under £20.

First visit won’t be our last!Lovely starters, I had the belly pork and husband had the beef both with vegetables and all the trimmings. The Yorkshire puddings deserve a special mention, they were big, hot and fresh from the oven. The chef is Alex I had to go and compliment him. Lovely surprise when we left to find live music in the pub downstairs. Can’t wait to go again and next time I’ll try and leave room for a pud

Superb Sunday dinner. Beef’s melt in your mouth and veg well seasoned. Drinks are respectably priced. Log fire and Live music on Sundays makes for a good Sunday.

The new chef at the Crown on Sundays delivered a wonderful Sunday lunch. The beef was melt in the mouth, Yorkshire pudding was fabulous and really tasty vegetables and crispy/fluffy roast potatoes to die for. My partner had a fabulous vegan wellington. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding - truly delicious. Will definitely go back again and recommend you try as no other lunch like this in the area.

Ideal place for a great sunday dinner. Fabulous flavours in the food and especially the gravy. Every one of us would go back for more. Cauliflower cheese with truffle was devine. Meat was tender and well seasoned. Deserts beautiful..

Tonight four of us visited the Crown and had a wonderful dining experience catered by Cosmo Cuisine catering. A different menu from the normal pub grub/restaurant chain. As a person with a variety of food intolerance there were no issues with this menu. Communication with the chief was so easy and I had total confidence that all the choices I made would be compatible with my dietary needs. We pre booked and the 4 of us picked across the menu for each course. My vegan cauliflower wings were crispy and so tasty. All positive comments for the jerk chicken croquettes and arrenchini balls. Short ribs succulent and Caribbean fish and chips tangy and spicy. My vegan peach tart was crisp deeply rich and flavoursome balanced with tart berries and icecream. Will be looking out for future pop up events catered by this company. Highly recommended.

Good service and a reasonable selection of beers. Disappointed that no food was available, despite the website promising a good selection of burgers served between 12pm and 9pm. This meant that we had to cut our visit short

Where to begin! Four of us came here after booking a table in the Restaurant. We had never been before so had no idea that the food is a totally separate business. The first disappointment was the fact that they only serve Burgers as main meals ( not as per the photos of their food on here) but we decided to make the best of it, even though non of us are really Burger people, and although the food was tasty it was at best lukewarm. We were the only ones in the upstairs restaurant although the pub downstairs was busy. We ordered drinks and they were brought to our table. When we asked for the Bill we were told that there was a glitch in the system and it couldn’t be printed out so we were just told the total which our friends paid on their card. Shortly afterwards we left. Upon arriving home we received a message from the pub informing us that we had left without paying for our drinks and after calling them back were told that we should have paid for our drinks at the bar on leaving and were told at the time that this was the system by the restaurant staff. At NO point were we informed of this. We offered to provide either card details or send a Cheque to settle the outstanding amount but they say this is not acceptable. Their expectation is that we should return to the pub in person. This is a 36 mile round trip for us. This is a ridiculous way of doing business, surely if the pub side of things is a separate enterprise then any drinks should be paid for at the point of sale.

Celebrated my daughters christening here. Fantastic. Bar staff were super friendly and the food by grumpyscatering was delicious, all guest were impressed with the quality of the food and loved the vibe of the venue. Kids were well entertained with the pubs park and bouncy castle. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate. Highly recommend to all.

Went on a sunny Friday afternoon/early evening, sat outside. Our grandson enjoyed the bouncy castle and the wooden fort. Good drinks and cocktails. Unfortunately the food was not good. Had to wait over an hour for a burger the chips arrived after we had finished eating. Burger was nice, bacon fatty and under cooked. The loaded fries were not as described just jars of sauce tipped over them. Won't be eating here again.

Great place. Had live music (Electric Pollen) playing in the beer garden, just a great Sunday afternoon.

We came to the Crown, Pattingham on a Saturday lunch time. Quiet trade, with plenty of tables outside available for a sunny afternoon. Pleasant bar staff, provided menus and ordering process prior to seating Ordered from the Grumpy’s Catering Co menu provided which was considerably different to the one promoted on line for the Fri-Sat 12pm - 5pm Lunch menu, in fact, it is a completely different?! We ordered the JR EWING BURGER and the Nacho’s from the sharer portion of the menu 10 mins after ordering, a member of the kitchen staff let us know there was no Beef Chilli available as part of the Nacho dish as this was ‘home made and he has just realised there isn’t any left’. Unsure on kitchen staff prep, but for a table whom was one of the very first if not THE first to order, the chefs apron was extremely stained and wondered what prep was being done that day seeing as the chilli was non existent? Fully aware kitchens are busy environments, but we were the only ones eating and with very little sign of prep given lack of menu available — it could be argued these weren’t fresh stains? Again, the personal grooming of the member of staff communicating with us left a lot to be desired. Opted for beef brisket option topping instead. Chicken burger, although requested without cheese still had remnants of cheese flavouring ? Nachos, were served in two different trays with small amount of brisket and just loaded with excessive amount of cheese sauce with nachos on top. Small offering of salsa and sour cream, no guacamole although stated on the menu? With all good intention with a good review previous, I am shocked as to the food we were presented with and simply couldn’t eat Pleasant bar staff and felt as though would be unfair to address them with our feedback as quite clearly felt a separate entity to the pub itself I would also argue for approx £9 for a burger, Digbeth Dining club as a close comparison in food and concept - this was a complete and utter disappointment Will not visit again for food and a Saturday afternoon we will not get back

Great little village pub. Well kept beers and friendly, helpful staff. Upstairs room is great venue for group social events. We will return to sample the menu soon!

Booked a table. Ordered food within 5 minutes. Waited an hour and a half for our meal. Nice looking pub, nice food but way too long a wait. If you book a table for a Sunday dinner then an hour and a half wait really...

We booked on the day and were given a table within 30 mins. When we arrived, we were greeted with a beautifully refurbished pub, filled with friendly staff and locals. We were sat upstairs in the dining area which again has a lovely cozy environment....

We came with quite a large family and they were so accommodating getting us a table indoors but near the garden for the kids to play. The drinks and food were really wonderful. We have two kid picky eaters and the menu had great options...

Lee and the Staff at the Crown were very accommodating, efficient and professional, we hired the upstairs room for a Funeral tea, and we were well taken care off, would recommend.

Visited for New menu launch, has lots of choice, food was excellent. pâté was delicious. Kids food was just as delicious as main menu. Homemade desserts were amazing. Friendly, welcoming staff and management. Would highly recommend visiting to try the new menu.

Dropped in for lunch, had a tasty large lasagne and a great steak sandwich, both with triple cooked chips , it’s a new menu, plenty of choice, fantastic hosts, made us feel extremely welcome, looking forward to next time already.

Very dissapointed for the 2nd time! Cannot fault staff bar & restaurant very friendly & helpful. Birthday celebration checked out the menu on line only to be handed the bar menu on arrival not the restaurant one. I was looking forward to scallops & sea bass! Queried it to be told restaurant menu was not available. Pointed it out to member of staff even showed them the website. The restaurant menu should have been taken off their website months ago but hadn't been! The food was extremely salty. My partner also noticed the chef was eating chips at the pass! Cross contamination when hand to mouth then food to plate!

Disappointed it closed early.But the staff were friendly and gave great customer service.Thanks guys.

A large group of us visited The Crown to celebrate a retirement. Lee the Manager was excellent at communicating and accommodating all of our requirements. The food was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Great food, great drink and exceptional service from all the team especially Tom and Lee.

Very accommodating staff. Sunday roast (chicken) moist, vegetables cooked to perfection for my liking (not raw or overcooked) tasty gravy. Probably the best roast I've had here probably down to the fairly new chef.

It's almost easy to miss it when there is another huge pub nearby. BUT don't miss it as you'll be rewarded with a superb atmosphere and some incredible food too. We took our friends for a meal having never tried this place. We're even local and now can't believe we never tried it before. We intend to return and will happily recommend to others. You'll soon see why we say the food is amazing!

20/12/20 Today I ordered three takeaway Sunday lunches from the Crown in Pattingham. I have tried several takeaway meals during the past few months but the Crowns dish was without doubt the best by far. Top quality ingredients, excellent value for money, big potions and deliciously yummy. Well done 10/10

My Mum loves going here for dinner. It's very local to her, sells very nice food and very well presentd. It has a different edge to pub food but not so alternative that her Grandson won't eat when we come to visit her. He loves the fish and chips and the deserts! Sevice is good, and the dinners are distanced apart. Some tables look close together however they seem to distance people by managing booking times to allow people to sit at every other table to comply with current regulations. Track n trace, paper menus etc are all provided. Certainly recommend a visit (or two!)

Superb Sunday lunch. Brilliant staff as ever. Impressed with how the pub/restaurant has adapted with Covid measures.

Gorgeous food and service. Did think that having cutlery and salt and pepper on the table not good during Covid. Also staff not wearing masks or visors and leaning across you not safe.

Only discovered this place a couple of weeks ago, and have already returned with friends and their children. Has a lovely rustic atmosphere, that you don't experience in many places now. Well I can't review the food or ambiance as our booking was not in the reservation book ..no record of it all..I obviously have the call records ..1st to book on 11th November 2nd to confirm on the 18th when the time was brought forward to 5pm.for today 26th Dec Boxing day 2019!! So back to today-: Checking my Facebook page and I see the Crown is open but NOT for food...I call check and NO.. they have no page..or record of my booking for today or any other day for 6 in my name...so now friends from Birmingham and my family are left high and dry.! To say I'm dissapointed is putting it mildly..completely unacceptable...

Unfortunately ordered shellfish which had unopened mussels in the served dish , returned to kitchen and new dish also had unopened shell fish ! Manager was very apologetic and I wasn’t charged but left without having a main dish due to mistakes , was a birthday meal so disappointing. Shame as bar and waitresses all very nice and welcoming, manager was very apologetic and a lovely man but food experience not great 😬

Very nice bar and restaurant serving good beer and high quality food. Well refurbished inside and out including children's play area. Dog friendly bar and pleasant outdoor patio. Food was very well cooked and menu overall seems very appealing. Well worth a visit to Pattingham for this pub.
