Really welcoming, cosy, friendly pub always packed with happy customers. Great food and service, a fantastic range of lagers and ales all in a beautiful old building. I don't know how Dartmouth manages so many good pubs but I'm glad it does and will be back.

Found this pub looking through Google maps. I didn’t want to just go to the first pub on the ‘main road’. We stopped for lunch. I had the fish and chips and my friend had sausage and mash. It was delicious. The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy. Friend said the sausage and mash was very tasty too

Can't say enough about this place, being British in an old pub it feels like home. People like Will are more than reasonable to come here, the place seems a lot busier than most pubs I've been to which is a good sign. I've been living here for 2 months and I don't go anywhere else regularly for a pint. I've not tried the food but it smells and looks great! Don't ever see any problems here and would definitely recommend 👌

Great location, central to Dartmouth, but off the touristy footpath… so it’s more genuine… and clearly been a pub for… a few (or more) hundred years. Low ceiling, timber frame, friendly staff, great local beers, and amazing food. Highly recommend the mussels… they were soft, tender and beautiful, in a lovely white wine and cream sauce, with shallots and samphire (I think… I’m not the chef, but that’s my best guess). Highly recommended.

It was the last night of our holiday and as we'd been busy packing we headed out much later than planned for dinner. The original place we had planned to go treated us very rudely, so we had to head off in search of somewhere else for our family of five to eat but on a Friday evening without a booking the first few places we come across were either fully booked or it was too close to the time of their kitchen closing at 8pm. We were all hungry and at the point of giving up and getting a takeaway which is not how we wanted to spend our last evening, when by chance we stumbled across Seven Stars up a side street. As soon as we arrived we received such a warm, friendly welcome and were instantly at ease. The pub is small and cosy with a nice atmosphere and packed full of character. We ordered three of the “Stars Smash Burger” meals all of which had adjustments due to allergies and two artisan stone baked pizzas. The food was absolutely delicious, and came out with all the correct adjustments exactly as we had ordered. The portions were generous and everything was tasty, fresh and very well made. The service was excellent and we left feeling very content and so pleased that we had found such a little gem. We were so glad that horrible service elsewhere led us to somewhere so lovely. We holiday at Dartmouth every year and will most definitely be coming back to Seven Stars again when we next visit.

Visited for Sunday lunch. The food took way too long, almost 45 minutes from ordering to it being served. Quantity of vegetable sides was excellent but that could be to distract you from the lack of meat, and my companion said her pork tasted, and looked, like the sliced sandwich meat you buy from a supermarket, not from a roast joint. If you don't expect much than this place will be fine but if you expect some quality, and service, then you may be disappointed. You can certainly buy cheaper, and better lunches

Visited on a rainy summer day in May, assumed we had secured a table at a run of the mill pub. How wrong we were. Lovely cosy pub, candles, hearth with really friendly staff. We ate a mix from the specials and regular menu. Scallops with Parmesan and breadcrumbs were some of the best scallops ever tasted. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was just divine. Whitebait and mussels followed up, with as cauli broccoli cheese side. Again, amazing quality and the chef is clearly an expert with french style sauces, garlic broth with mussels was incredible and cheesy side was perfect. Whitebait perfectly crispy with I suspect homemade tartare sauce. Good choice of wines, ciders and beers. As an older family of three this was just a really pleasant surprise and without doubt the best meal we have had in Dartmouth. We will be back. We arrived in Dartmouth after a three-hour drive from Dorset and found this pub on our walk around the town. It was about 5pm and not having booked, on the off chance asked if they had a table. Whilst all the tables were booked for later in the evening, we were catered for on the understanding that we left the table before the booking time. That was not a problem as it gave us a couple of hours to eat. We were seated with a beer and perused the menu. There was a varied selection and there were items on the menu that were interesting and different to the standard dishes in other establishments. Yes, there are staple dishes but variety is the spice of life. We ordered liver with bacon and mixed roasted vegetable tart. The liver was served pink and was delicious and I am told the tart was one of the best my wife has tasted. We would definitely eat here again should we be in Dartmouth.
