We enjoyed a really lovely light lunch eating outside on the village green. The menu is simple, but all feels freshly prepared - the pizza with crab, prawn and a lemon dressing was especially tasty. They have a wide selection of drinks, including a full range from Heron Valley and Salcombe Brewery Co. We had ice creams to finish off! The staff are super friendly which made the experience all the more enjoyable. We have been visiting East Prawle for many years, always visiting Piglet Cafe and it’s really pleasing to see the new(ish) Owners have updated the interiors making it feel like a special place to be come rain or shine. Thank you Piglet Cafe and see you again soon!

I used to be a frequent vistor to this wonderful village, but sadly life stuff pulled us away. Now back in the area, we drove out today on a beautiful summers day to drink it all in again. I recall this cafe being something of a stuffy and dowdy establishment that was a bit hit and miss. Having taken it on 3 years ago, the new owners have worked wonders. Seating is primarily outside, the inside now a treasure trove of cakes, pastries and all manner of lovely things to eat and drink. We had the chilli beef nachos which were absolutely amazing. Lots! All made with fresh ingredients and tasty as you like. Service was quick and friendly, the propritress taking time out to chat and make us feel welcome. This place is a real find!

We were walking a stretch of the coast path in the hope that the website was up-to-date and when we saw the door open, the family were very pleased. We'd checked the website and were looking forward but have been disappointed a couple of times this holiday by businesses not bothering to update their webpages. This time and place, the website was true. The Piglet's team were welcoming, friendly and flexible and produced some great food and drinks. The definition of 12-ish was stretched to allow several of us to order from the tempting breakfast menu and babycinos appeared quickly for the youngest member of the family. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was great and just what we needed. I think that we should give praise where praise is due, so well done and thanks to the Piglet.

I had read the reviews on Tripadvisor so had decided it was worth the trek across South Devon. Unfortunately on the day of our visit expectations did not live up to the reviews. This review relates to the shop. I can’t speak to the food from cafe. We stopped off mid cycle today for a brief respite and grabbed two Calippo lollies from the shop. I was charged £5 for two lollies which I later spotted in our local supermarket for £1 each (I appreciate a smaller shop is always likely to cost more - but not that much!) I don’t know if there’s a price for locals and one for tourists but I certainly won’t be going back again. Just check before you buy. I know we can choose whether we buy or not but I was so shocked I handed over the money. I’m just baffled.

Very light and delicious. My friend ordered the platter, served with fresh baguette, perfectly hard boiled egg, with a gherkin, pickled onion, cheese and two chutneys. They were happy to go to the shop next door to get me an Earl Grey tea and the couple who have just taken over were friendly and chatty. The other food being brought it all looked very appetising. Decided to make a special trip here to fuel up with a hearty breakfast before a long journey. Was a little taken aback by the price for a full English (£8.95), but hey this is a remotish location in a touristy area so a paying a premium is to be expected. For this price however I would have hoped for almost unlimited tea and I asked for a large pot. I was stunned to then be charged a total of £12.95. When I said £4 was rather steep for extra tea, I was informed that they had charged me for tea for two people, so I said I'd make do with a one person pot. This reduced the cost to £10.95, because apparently tea or coffee was an optional extra to the food. I was stunned. I have NEVER been charged extra for a hot drink with a cooked breakfast in ANY cafe, restaurant or hotel. It is an integral part of the breakfast.

Our first thoughts had been to eat lunch at the pub opposite, but the welcome we received there was so poor that we immediately headed across the road to this cafe. It didn't look open from the road but the open signage was clear as we got closer and round the other side. The welcome was friendly and helpful, and the lady explained we could use card (unlike the pub) to make payment...as long as we went in their shop at the bottom of the building where the machine resides. The menu had sufficient choice for lunch and a delicious selection was served to the four of us. It was pleasing to find they are licensed to sell alcohol too so the pub experience was swiftly forgotten. The only quibble I had was that the bitter (Crispy Pig) was stored at room temperature and I'd have loved a cold beer (like the lagers and ciders they also sell). The lady advised that people prefer it warm - though the label also said to serve cold.We had a decent lunch there and were refreshed to continue our walk. Definitely recommend this cafe and its quirkiness. It's actually in East Prawle village and not Kingsbridge as per the postal address and TripAdvisor description.
