A customer for over forty years the food is outstanding the best steak and Guinness pie anywhere staff so efficient and helpful especially to my disabled guest timing was perfect I would highly recommend this family owned pub

Nine of us in the group were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Six different meals ordered all excellent both for quality and quantity. I have a special dietary requirement which was dealt with very well. Nine deserts followed all excellent cheese board was particularly good. Good selection of beers and spirits. A very enjoyable evening no complaints whatsoever. Very well looked after in a friendly and efficient manner. Will definitely retun

I had never been before as I live in Birmingham, but my friend had been many times before and I was very impressed with the service and quality of the food on the 14th. Had the steak and Guinness pie which was excellent and the pudding tart was a good size and 'moreish'. The landlord's Mom was sat near the door and had a chat with us as we left and made us feel welcome, even though she didn't know me. Very nice evening.

Just been for Sunday lunch here and it was gorgeous! Plenty of choice for starters, mains and desserts. We had roast pork, of which there was plenty, with a good selection of fresh vegtables and lots of gravy. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. The ambience was lovely with music playing in the background but we were able to have a conversation without raised voices. A lovely experience and would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable place next to log fire and good ales. Good ale and just great friendly service.

Meat chewy, veg soggy, partners meat ok. Cauliflower cheese best veg but paid extra. No sauces offered and not asked if all ok. Sweet tasty. Won't be returning also room cold.

Great pub. We've been here many times. Very dog friendly and always a warm welcome. I had a turkey dinner and a crumble to finish. The food was lovely. With a few real fires around the pub the atmosphere is warm and cosy. A lovely place to relax. Recommended.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon after a muddy walk from Aston Marina. Really friendly staff and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was great, fire was roaring and the beer was fab.

Recently had a birthday meal for 19 people. Cannot recommend highly enough to anyone considering similar. Table placing enabled us all to converse, the food was delicious and served seamlessly. Had a wonderful evening!

A very friendly welcome, with good beer on an autumnal Wednesday lunchtime. Appeals to an older clientele at this time of day, but none the worse for that. Comfortable corners and plenty of dining tables.

really good home made food. we've been regularly, . the steak and Guinness pie is highly recommended. I had the liver with crisybacon and onions with mash which was excellent. Liver isn't everyone's cup of tea, my husband hates it, so I don't eat it at home.

Been here today to celebrate my husband's,70th birthday. Always have a very warm welcome. The staff are really nice and friendly. Been here loads of times over the years and there is always a lovely atmosphere. The food is always cooked really nice and there is plenty of choice. In the summer you can sit outside which is really nice or have a game of pool inside. If you don't want a meal there is a lovely sitting area inside which is nice and comfortable. This place is well worth a visit. I would definitely recommend it.

Always friendly, the food is excellent and all homemade. Always try for 2 courses but always get 3.

Our group had 6 different all of which were truly remarkable. Cannot recommend highly enough. Staff very friendly. We were travelling on a barge and unsure of arrival time but staff made a note of this and reserved our table. Truly wonderful service and meal. Thank you very much

The Greyhound at Burston is our favourite restaurant, extremely welcoming and friendly, comfortable atmosphere throughout, along with the food /menu variety being excellent every time that we've been, we are always spoilt for choice on each course which is very rare, highly recommend the Greyhound as it never disappoints.

We haven't been in yet on this trip through but always call in. Thats tomorrow. But always feel guilty 'cos 1 year forgot to pay for our meal. Luckily our son hadn't left. I've since been rrminded about it hundreds of times. Reading reviews it sounds like its still the same friendly welcoming pub we remember.

Pleasant surroundings with very good food served piping hot 🔥 including the plates so do be careful!. Good choice including gluten free vegetarian and vegan options. Well worth a visit.

The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly. The menu has a lot of choice and also a variety of cuisines. The food was fresh and well cooked, loved it! However, I do believe it is a little too expensive for what you get overall. If I compare it to the nearby Aston marina or The Post house, I don't believe the ambiance is there.

Generally has been reasonable Sunday Roasts. Not sure what happened last Sunday. Vegetables were swimming in butter, Yorkshire puddings would have have won a cup cake competition and the service from the bar was non existent.

Lovely meal at "The Greyhound" today, as on previous occasions when I've eaten there. Excellent service and tranquil setting.

Well this pub has changed! I've not been here since it was a regular haunt in 1998-2000 as we used to play pool in the room you 1st enter from the car park after Ventures in Aston Village Hall. Then I noticed it had been knocked through and made more airy, you done a nice job 👏 I was only able to drop a 4* on the food tab as we had a very nice buffet laid out, 5's are given if we have roasts (which from reading the menu we'll return for) also, atmosphere got a 4, but that's understandable since this was a wake. I have not seen some of my family members for ages, for example, I completed my full 22 year career in the Army without seeing some of them. So it was good to catch up again. Thanks to the Publican and staff.

Went for a family meal and thought the food was excellent. Decent sized car park and wonderfully friendly staff. Well worth the 300 mile round trip ! Wouldn’t hesitate to go again if we’re in the area.

Love the food, the service is great. You have the choice to sit down in the bar area or the restaurant which ever ambiance you fancy. The staff have always been great with my artistic son. It is one of the few places that my son feels comfortable to eat at. Thank you.

Always welcoming friendly staff .Good food very reasonable prices. What more could you ask for. Weekends I found it best to ring and make reservations. The popularity speaks for it's self Just had an excellent meal for Father’s Day . We had the Dog with us and were made to feel really welcome as always. Good value good service and lovely staff. Cracking little site right behind pub, friendly staff, lovely grass field (pitch were u want) toilets in pub, tap just outside pub, no EHU, gray & elsan point in field, not tryed food yet as just got here, £10 a pitch good value, defo worth a visit

Highly recommend the visit - whether for the food, or just for a drink. Plenty of choice on the menu and all cooked from fresh. Portions a huge. Definitely need a empty stomach before going! Plenty of options for GF and those who are cheese intolerant, like me! Lovely surroundings, and service spot on!

I just wanted to thank the staffs at the Grey Hound who catered for my Mum`s wake on the 23rd of May. The food laid on was excellent and the staff were accommodating and caring at such a difficult time. We are definitely going to come back to enjoy the food and hospitality in the future.

Booked for a post funeral get together. Lovely buffet with reserved tables in a cosy setting.

We were moored on the canal and paid this place a visit as it was only a 10 minute walk away. It's a lovely place with lots of character. The staff are lovely and friendly and it's a dog friendly pub too. We had the scampi and the breakfast grill. Both meals were very tasty and the chips were yummy. Even the dog was served with a bowl of water on a tray with a fog biscuit. Overall a great place to eat and drink. I would have given top marks but for the men's toilet. A bit messy paintwork and the handles on the main door and the cubicle were hanging off.

Had a stay over on Thursday night 20/4/33 on the basic field Campsite. Lovely meal and a great atmosphere. Booked again on Monday 24/4/23 too late for food but enjoyed an evening drink.

Been going here for a few months the food is always cooked fresh the liver and onions is to die for I have had the sea food tagliatelle and the chicken supreme both delicious only had one pudding bakewell tart lovely I would highly recommend you will not be disappointed

Came as a group the others were pleased with their meals. For me on a restricted diet, menu was very restricted ..needed high protein low fat, chose gammon and asked for just with a pile of veg, no potatoes or sauces. Aesthetically pleasing but nowhere near a pile of veg and didnt fill me at all. No new potato or jacket potato option, and all meals were either with chips or were creamy and too rich. Disappointing visit for me personally.

Traditional back street pub, just outside the main town centre. The Cask ale selection is displayed on a blackboard behind the bar (Order individual ales by listed number).

We first visited as a group of 4 and have since been back twice (all within 3 weeks). It's a superb Pub that produces (in-house) 5* fabulous food, and has excellent bar dinning and also a lovely restaurant. The Tuscan Creamy Chicken is "Delicious...!" All of our meals have been superb = really tasty, very well presented, good size portions & lovely and hot. The staff are superb = very friendly, professional & extremely knowledgeable regarding the meals on the menu and the beers. It's a 5* Gem for food/dining and a great venue. Plus, plenty of free on-site parking.

A lovely welcome greeting. The pub was warm and we were served quickly. The beer was good and well kept .when asked about our table reservation we were shown to the table and menus given. Once the food was ordered it came quickly and was freshly cooked and hot. A pub and restaurant I would visit again.
