A recommendation for this establishment. Tucked in the countryside on the outskirts of stafford an stone a very nice building awaits. Very friendly staff greeted us and was pleasantly surprised by the interior. The menu looked scrumptious and the wife and I opted for the steak and guiness pie. The meal was very tasty, but the wife and I had exactly the same opinion. The price was £16.50 each, but for the money was not the greatest amount on the plate. It looked like everything had been measured! I literally had 2 small bits of steak and the portion side was very poor. Shame really as the pie itself was tasty. A little taken back that they was no homemade chips and a small amount of carrots and cabbage finalised the plate. Overall, a nice experience, very stingey on the portion side which was a let down. Would I visit again? Well, yes I would but it just didn't do it for us. Overall a 6/10 for us and it did feel a light bite meal for £16.50.

Hadn't been here for years, is a local though I'd give it a go. The restaurant had been redone up and looked really nice. The staff were really friendly. I had the mixed grill. Steak and liver was over cooked and the chips were bad. I felt the menu was very bog standard but had restaurant prices and food was very average pub quality level. I feel it's selling it's self as a restaurant but it's very average pub quality standards.

We stumbled across this pub today whilst out for a drive (my birthday) and were delighted we stopped in! Staff were extremely welcoming from the start and welcomed us and our dog with a perfect table in a quiet corner. A great menu selection and both our meals were delicious, served with a wonderful smile. Great outdoor space for the dog to burn off some energy too! We are fairly local so will definitely be going back. Thank you for such a pleasant experience.

It has been a while since my last visit. Upon arrival, I noticed that the restaurant had a refurbishment, which made it a lot brighter. I couldn't help notice how noisey and echo it sounded with the laminate flooring. We were shown to our table by the waitress who was very polite. The seats were very hard with no cushions this was very uncomfortable for my dad, who had just had an operation 2 weeks ago. The drinks came out, but the milk had been forgotten for my mom's tea, so I had to go to the bar to ask. Dinner was very expensive £16.95 for what you got portion wise. My mom's and partners roast potatoes where very hard and they couldn't seem to cut through them. My son had a steak, which was very chewey and for £24 I wouldn't have expected this. The waitress asked if we would like to see the dessert menu we said yes. 15 minutes passed and you could clearly see that she had forgotten about us. Feeling disappointed, I went to the bar and she then realised the dessert menu. I told her that it was too late and that I wanted to pay the bill. Myself and my family are not big eaters but we have never been to a restaurant where we have walked out hungry.

My friend and I decided on the spur of the moment to visit The Greyhound. I hadn't been there for years. We'd been out, were not really dressed up for such a lovely place. The first impression was how beautiful it is inside. Cosy, comfortable, clean, and well organised with nooks and crannies and a relaxed atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile. I had my dog, so they suggested seating away from other tables where they expected dogs. Very thoughtful. Bundle was then brought her own tray with a bowl of water and a giant doggie biscuit. She was fussed, which endeared them to me even more!! We ordered food and drinks. The menu was well priced and had an excellent range. Not extensive, but definitely something for everyone. We both had chicken papadrelle. We waited only long enough for it to be freshly cooked. It tasted amazing, I've definitely paid far more for food not half as good. We could resist the puddings, actually something we usually don't bother with. Once again, a small but all-encompassing menu of treats. Homemade. The accompanying scoop of ice cream was clearly full cream and local. Beautifully presented. Everything is clearly thought through. No shortcuts. We had wine, something that can be hit and miss in pubs. It was also delicious. We came away promising ourselves we'd make it a monthly treat.

I thought it was nicely refurbished and the staff were friendly. Food wise though, I had a mixed grill and ordered the steak rare. The came steak came medium, and the chips were very average. Being to the other two local pubs recently The dog and doublet and the holly bush, They served proper chip shop chips. Between these three pubs they're very much similar in price for what they offer but the quality level of food was better, sorry to say. But I'm sure the Jordan family could easily improve on these.

I attended as part of a large group of 24. I had a starter, main course and a dessert. All the courses arrived on time and were presented efficiently by the excellent waiting staff. The starter was vegetable soup which was hot and delicious. The main course was the steak and Guinness pie, chips and mushy peas. I can honestly say that the pie was the best I have ever had at a restaurant. It was home made and crammed with meat. Once again they hadn't skimped on portions. the dessert was Eton mess which was a wonderful finale. Judging from the comments made by others in the group they all enjoyed the total experience as well. No wonder the Greyhound is so popular. It's reputation is well earned and well deserved.

Then I noticed it had been knocked through and made more airy, you done a nice job 👏 I was only able to drop a 4* on the food tab as we had a very nice buffet laid out, 5's are given if we have roasts (which from reading the menu we'll return for) also, atmosphere got a 4, but that's understandable since this was a wake. I have not seen some of my family members for ages, for example, I completed my full 22 year career in the Army without seeing some of them. So it was good to catch up again. We booked a room for an event, the room itself was fantastic, the bathroom however was a different story! My girlfriend was in the shower and was then asked if she could stop due to it leaking into the pub downstairs, she still had conditioner in her hair. After about 15 minutes I enquired with the barman (who was very pleasant and stuck in a situation that wasn't his fault) he explained that he couldn't get through to the manager and to let my girlfriend just use the shower to continue to clean her hair. He also explained the since they had no more rooms we were unable to switch. Whilst my girlfriend was in the shower the shower handle came off. Along with the issues with the shower the toilet also leaked from the base. We waited until we had to leave to see someone but upon leaving still saw nobody to resolve the issue!

The Artisan Tap is fast becoming one of our favourite music venues, offering an eclectic selection of folk, punk, rock & roll, plus much more. Not only does it offer great gigs, but it does so in an environment that feels somewhere between an American dive bar and an Alice in Wonderland tea shop. It does get crowded in there and it does sell out easily, but the squeeze is well worth it and it pays to plan ahead.

My wife and I had a brilliant night last night at the club, it was a Soul and Motown themed night, the DJ played great music and the place was sold out, we pre booked the food, which was simple but absolutely delicious, one of the best sirloin steaks I’ve had in a long time anywhere I think the club itself has been on a knife edge for a few years now but I think these themed nights will be it’s saviour and a priority is marketing and selling to younger generations, if I was to hazard a guess last nights average age would be 60 - 70 and we won’t live forever !

We had a lovely family meal tonight to celebrate or granddaughters 18th birthday. The food was lovely and I would recommend to anyone. The jacket potato & Chilli was delicious compliments to the chef. Great quality and good value.
