We decided on the orange tree for our our work night out and had a fab time. Food was delicious, id recommend the chicken tenders for starter and the king prawn curry for a main. Staff were great too.

Popped in this morning, got both of our breakfasts wrong (mine twice) whilst we were the only people in the restaurant. There solution, knock one off the bill and still attempt to charge for the sides we had returned. Avoid for over priced mistakes. Manager hid around the corner and didn’t attempt to sort.

It was my boyfriends birthday meal and we chose to come to the Orange Tree, wow what an amazing place to eat for dinner! First time coming and i will be returning, the food was fab but we had an amazing server. She was so lovely to us and kept us looked after! think her name was emily, i will be asking for her again to serve us!! such a lovely girl and kind to people

We’ve eaten at the Orange tree a few times now. The Sunday lunch a couple of years ago was excellent and we were satisfied the second time we returned too. Yesterday, of the three meals ordered off the lunchtime menu , I was disappointed that the steak costing over fifteen pounds , consisted of a number of thin strips of steak only being four ounces in total and with a few chips and a grilled tomato. I can’t consider this as being good value for money and perhaps you might consider changing this on the menu. Finally, there was no mention of there being a mandatory service charge, which to my understanding is not legal in the UK. It wasn’t pointed out and only became apparent after I got home. Indeed there has been a change in law today regarding hidden costs. So I urge the orange tree to change their practice and feel it fair to warn other diners to check their bill.

Came in earlier this week for some drinks and ended up being tempted to have some food. Bar staff really friendly and knowledgeable, there was no question about wine they couldn’t answer. We were really intrigued by the new large cuts offer on, and went with a Boston rib. Best steak ever, cooked by Dan B according to the board! Can’t wait to return, thank you OT team :)

Inattentive staff & lapse service which is not in keeping with the otherwise upmarket appearance of the bar & restaurant. Food quality fell well short of expectations given the price, very obvious ‘upscaling’ of cheaper ingredients taking place. In sum, overpriced and overrated.

Reviewed before, revisited 12 months later and still overrated. Starter went back (belly pork) and £20 for a chicken kebab chucked on a plate with oven chips? Not sure if the chef has wandered but this could be far better. Stoke is a little tough for a finer dining experience, this is… at the end of the day a pub… like I say when it comes to food this is not all that. I think Willow is a tad better but that could improve but is held back by its tiny kitchen! Each to their own. That’s my opinion and that of the 5 guests I took. All felt let down.

Absolutely brill made the extra effort for my hubby's 45th birthday complimentary drink card and dessert never had this anywhere I've been for special occasions before so yes 10/10 food was delicious 😋 and staff were amazing very attentive keep up that good work 👏

Booked for a table of 9 for Mother’s Day - will not return again as was terrible from start to finish. - Table was booked for 4:30pm and we were sat at 5:20pm. This was due to our table incorrectly given away to another party therefore, had to wait for their table to become available. - Infant in the group was given a high chair that had sick on it, this wasn’t spotted by the member of staff but my sister who went to put my nephew in the chair, had to ask for this to be replaced. - Food didn’t arrive to the table until after 6:30pm, we had to ask for the infants meal to be brought out as he had already waited 2 hours at this point. - Main meals were missing a few sides such as chips and sauces, had to ask for these. - Had to send a sticky toffee pudding back as was cold. - Had to ask 2 times for the infants pudding. We complained at the time, received 2 free round of drinks, the 2 puddings we had issues with were taken off however, given the bill still came to nearly £400 - very expensive for the issues we faced and experience we had, would expect much better for a paragon restaurant as we visit frequently to the chain.

Beautiful food, beautiful surroundings wonderful staff my only complaint is had the steak which was lovely but don’t like the fact that I had to pay £5 for chips or potatoes to go with it. Why was it not included in the price?

Service was ok depending on which waiter you got. Food was very average and overpriced. The setting is quite nice though.

Nice place, but two of our party of 8 had the burgers and they were very overdone and dry. Not great for the price range. Service was really good, and it's a nice atmosphere.

Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Our waiter, Diogo was very friendly, helpful, and professional. In fact all the staff there were friendly and polite. Our Boston rib steak was cooked perfectly by grill chef Dan. We’ll be back!

First time visiting was pre Xmas and was amazing for us so we decided to return sometime. Sunday 9th March table booked for 3 , what a total turnaround. We had to prompt staff we were waiting for our mains after waiting patiently, meal came and it was not hot but we were so hungry we started to eat it . The beef was thin and uniform that I was convinced it was cooked from a packet it was that bad , the mash even resembled packet mash fully buttered for taste, little gravy . This meal was definitely cooked hours earlier and heated up . This got mentioned to a staff member who came back to us sheepishly but nothing was done about it . £18 for a roast dinner you would expect better quality and served fresh . Not the staffs fault but nobody even bothered to come over to us to help resolve it. Poor service. Will never return again . I hate how as a customer you pay good money for food and nobody takes responsibility when your not happy . Table 51 bill number 232642 total £76.10

Visited for a joint birthday meal. Food was nice but the service very poor. The waiter even asked if I wanted him to bring my change back after paying…. Surely you shouldn’t ask that question, tips are optional. Perhaps the staff were under staffed. Orange Tree use to be our favourite Paragon but not anymore.

Myself and two friends visited the orange tree ( Newcastle under Lyme) on Saturday. We had the bottomless brunch. The table was delayed for 15 minutes. I was assured the 90 minutes of bottomless brunch would start as soon as we had our first drink. The food was great, big portion sizes. Special mention to the staff member Leah. Even tho it was extremely busy she made sure we weren’t ignored and she brought us our drinks promptly. She was professional, very polite and she dealt with the pressures of a busy Saturday night really well. What a great member of staff to have on your team.

Great meal and great service, Emily in particular was great, she explained the menu to us very nicely and even recommended some dishes which really felt like a personal touch, definitely coming back again.

Attended today for the feast & flow menu. The staff were very helpful. I didn't drink but had the mocktails & they were nice. The food was nice too.

I’m not keen on the new menu-we much preferred the smaller plates on the previous menu. The large cuts are too expensive. I also think it is poor that when you order a steak, it costs around £10 extra to add fries and a sauce, making an 8oz rib eye steak almost £40. We ordered a rib eye steak medium rare and it was so thin (1cm) it was almost impossible to cook it medium rare. We asked for a replacement which was dealt with excellently by the waiter

We had booked a table but it was 20 minutes until we were seated from our booked time. Waited a further 15 minutes until we were asked for our food order. I understand to have an ambiance but we couldn’t see our table or food, it was quite dark. Ordered a table water which took 10minutes which was odd as the bar was literally in front of us and it wasn’t overly busy. The food arrived in good time. The food is a mixed review, it was delicious, everything eaten was cooked and tasted to perfection. The steak was literally just that. My partner ate his steak and I was only a quarter through my meal, having to feed him some of my chips as he was still hungry. Food was delicious, just limited in quantity on certain dishes. Staff were clearly busy and not very attentive to be honest apart from a gentleman who was very happy and polite. A shame as it has a good reputation and as I say, what was eaten was delicious, just let down by some important factors .

Thought we would try out the new menu and we were very impressed. Some great new dishes. Wish we could have tried them all but there was only 2 of us. Also very impressed with the staff. Although they all seem a bit on the young side, they were very professional and welcoming. Big shout out to Andy who went his normal above and beyond.

The food is amazing, and I could not fault it. It is very loud in there, though, with the music played at quite a high volume and therefore people talking loudly to compensate. Unfortunately, the service was a little slow, which impacted our experience.

Went for my mother in laws birthday, food was decent, very few options for vegetarians! The service was appalling, no one in site. Waited 45 minutes for the bill, had to go up to find someone which was not on. Waiter huffing and puffing when asked for a menu. Ordered our food, brother in law came 10 minutes after and ended up getting his food first and nearly finished his food when the rest of the party’s food came. Thought it be better considering, won’t be coming back here again!

My wife and I went with the intention of having a Sunday lunch today 23/2/25 where I asked where the turkey option hqd been removed fron the Sunday lunch menu. I asked a member of staff why the turkey was not there, and I was told that it was a seasonal dish!!!! It's strange that we have had lunch there all year round, where there has been turkey on the menu. I do not like beef, ham or the veg options. I ended up with a burger. Very disappointed with this excuse about the seasonal aspect.

Lovely place for Sunday lunch on your own or with friends. Not rushed service and food was great.

Had lovely meal with my granny. We always choose the Orange Tree. Food was lush, as ever, but a shoutout to the service team is needed. So good. Forthcoming without being overbearing. Happy and polite. Everyone is the same so it’s a culture thing and it’s great! Thanks for a lovely night.

This was our first visit to the orange tree & we were very impressed. The staff were professional, friendly & attentive. The resturant was clean, modern & cosy. The food was absolutely amazing. We were so glad we had finally visited, it was so worth it. Could not recommend enough....

My daughter and I have been here a few times now and the food is beautiful. Today was not up to it's usual standard, which was a bit disappointing. We ordered the 4 plates for 20 pounds off the lunch menu. Only a couple of those were quite nice. I have to say though we have eaten here previously and cannot fault it. It won't stop us from calling back. I will say the Crispy Beef Asian salad is the most delicious I've ever had. The staff are really lovely, a young man served us today and he was very friendly. It's always clean and the restaurant itself is lovely, with tasteful decor. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

We came tonight for a family birthday the beef was processed the roasts were hard. The service was terrible we had 3 kids who had to sit for an hour to wait for ice cream, we spoke to the waitress and said usally you serve desert before coffee when questioned we were told its quicker to make coffee than dessert 3 being ice cream. When asking for a conyack coffee the waiter didn't know it was courvoisier was brandy after we drank the coffees the desert turned up and 2 had to be sent back as it was cold I didn't think this was exceptable and it was not a good service

My first time here with some friends after hearing good things. My experience was mediocre unfortunately. Some of the dishes were tasteless and the portion sizes (especially the desserts were very small) which for £7 per portion is not value for money. The service was slow, we chased numerous time for drink etc. £110 for 3 people and a child, so not cheap. I personally won't be going back

We tour the country supporting our football team with friends and always look to visit local restaurants as part of our trip. I found this place on TA and everyone in our party was super impressed. The restaurant is a super classy place, the staff are amazingly friendly and attentive and the food is really excellent…probably our best food on the road this season!

Having had the ultimate Xmas day experience in 2023, despite a considerable price increase we decided as a family of 6 to return in 2024. Bill was over £600 but last year was fantastic however this year was extremely disappointing. Greed got the better of a well ran establishment and they decided to over book with multiple services that were not in place last year and it showed! Cold food, staff that were run off their feet, poor quality and completely ruined our Xmas day. Manager approached and admitted it fell short of the usual standards and asked us to email him and he would sort. It's now 20th January and despite 3 emails and a Facebook message we have received nothing! Customer service at its worst. You cannot treat people who have paid substantial sums of money like this. We worked hard all year to be let down and a bad review could have been prevented with an appropriate response. Reputation is everything to a business.

Nice atmosphere, been a couple of time with work now and they can deal with large tables quite well. Drinks are slow to arrive which can be frustrating and they missed out on a few sales.

Was served by Leah Sunday afternoon and she really made us feel accommodated and welcomed, big thanks aswell to Andy and Josh and the rest of the team who are always so helpful!

We arrived at The Orange Tree and shown to a table. The waiter was pleasant, he took our drinks order. All four of us had different starters. At least two of them were no where near hot enough. We carried on eating them, as it becomes very uncomfortable complaining. But when our mains were placed on the table, my dinner was stone cold. I explained this to a waitress and she took it away to fix this. The rest of my family carrying on eating whilst I waited. Out it came, the waitress advised me to be careful as the plate was very hot - it was, but again the chicken was still cold. I asked her to feel it, and yes she said it was still cold too. The waiter apologised and offered to remove the price of one of the bottles of wine off the bill. Although it’s a gesture of good will, it doesn’t help the fact that I hadn’t eaten. It’s a total disgrace that this restaurant is serving cold food. It wasn’t even warm after they tried to fix it. Going into restaurants and spending any amount of money to dine and spend precious time with family or friends is completely ruined by serving cold food - it’s just not good enough. I felt extremely embarrassed having to complain, sitting and waiting whilst everyone else was eating. Other customers smirking and listening to every word I was saying - awful. There was also a sommelier, I presume as she served our wine, who was as cold as the food. Maybe needs a refresh in customer service. There wasn’t any toilet roll in the ladies, and the tiled floor in the restaurant was as slippery as the solid ice on the carpark - in and around the disabled spaces. Hideous place.

First time at this Paragon Group venue and won’t be the last. Hadn’t booked in advance but accommodated without a problem on a mid Friday afternoon. Service was very attentive and served freshly cooked food within good time. My son had sea bass linguine and I had a light lunch of breaded scampi. Desserts of cookie dough and brownie were as expected. Lovely venue.

Well I must admit standards have slipped considerably. We’ve not been in for a while to The Orange Tree and can’t imagine we’ll be rushing back. Sat in bar area. Went up got drinks. Then went up to ask for a menu. Then we went to bar to order food (during this time, bear in mind not one member of staff had approached us). Ordered food and paid for it which ridiculously included a service tip!!! But embarrassed into ‘if you want the tip removing we’ll have to get management’. Food arrived, all lovely. Got ourselves another drink. Wanted half a Neck Oil. Husband queried price as he’d paid but it was £6.50. Server realised so ended up with 2 halves which I did not want! Gave up waiting for someone to clear the dishes from our table so we did this ourselves and put them on another table. There were 4 people in next to us (2 couples who were obviously regulars) as whilst sat there 4 members of staff came chatting to them, looking through holiday photos with complete disregard to any other customers!

We called in here on a whim for dinner, having not been for some time (due to being fairly unimpressed last time). It seems that not a lot has changed, in fact, perhaps it's a little worse this time around. The problem is that the food quality doesn't really match the pricing, and I can't help but feel there's a level of pretentiousness in their offering. Starters came - nothing spectacular, and sadly only luke-warm, but otherwise perfectly fine. The mains courses were also fine, although sadly, my partners meal arrived cold. The staff were quick to return it to the kitchen and after 5 minutes, it returned from the kitchen on a hot plate, but sadly the food was still cold. The management refunded this meal, and took the price of a bottle of wine off the bill, which was appreciated, but sadly still doesn't make up for one of the party not being fed. Unfortunately, we probably won't return here - there's other restaurants in the area with comparable pricing that deliver a much better product. The Orange Tree simply doesn't live up to expectations.

Looked at the lunch menu online and booked. Arrived at the restaurant to be told that this hasn’t started yet when it’s clearly displayed as an option on the website. I was told by the waitress that most of the items were available to order on the main menu but upon looking they were double the price. False advertising from the company. If we would have known, we would have gone elsewhere! Absolutely ridiculous.

The paragon restaurants are all amazing and this one doesn't disappoint. The service was a little long but it was a very busy Christmas time and exceptable

A great experience all round, lovely atmosphere, great drinks. Wonderful to see a strong hand at the helm in Andy who's running a fantastic venue.

Visited for breakfast. Quality was okay, quantity was lacking. Smallest portion of beans I've ever seen - pathetic. Served tea in dishes still wet with dirty dishwater that we had to wipe off ourselves. Sneaking a service charge on at the end leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Obvious focus on looking good rather than doing good. Won't be back.

First visit here, was surprised to see the restaurant bursting at the seams for a Thursday evening. Our table was booked for 7pm, but we had to wait half an hour. The bar area gets packed very quickly so it can be a bit awkward having to squeeze to let people past. However the service was friendly and prompt despite how busy the place was. It is probably sink or swim for workers here and they certainly deal with it well. The two courses for £22 is decent value, the chicken tenders were excellent. The burger for a main was pink in the middle (perfect), with a nice cheese sauce and bacon on. My only complaint was it was a little over salty, but the burger size was decent. The onion rings as a side are huge, you only need a portion to share really. This is the first pub I've been in serving the new version of Moretti with the salt in, which is a very smooth pint, but pricey at £6.50. They do have Heineken 0% on draft which is £5, always nice to have a zero beer on draft. The ambience is nice but it can get loud especially I imagine being close to Christmas. The decorations looked great and it had a cosy feeling. Another excellent Paragon venue!

Despite being really busy I think the staff handle the volume of people really well. Food and drinks excellent, staff work really well as a team so there r no delays. It's not until you look around and see so many people that you realise how busy this restaurant gets. Great team work, service with a smile and hats off to the kitchen staff for constantly turning out great high quality food

Had a great afternoon Christmas lunch at the Orange Tree with family and friends, fantastic service by Talia who really was on the ball and really made our lunch fabulous.

A mixed review… service and quality of food was amazing! However, really not very good with allergies. Once I’d added my allergies to the filter I ordered and was told that the filter does not include cross contamination (use of the fryer) which included most the items on the filter. Therefore I was left with a selection of things that I wouldn’t have chosen. That being the said, the food we received was excellent and the service from the FOH team was great!

Booked feast and flow for a staff Christmas party. We had booked 3.30pm. We were warned that the table was running late - however we were still waiting at 4.15. others around us were offered complimentary drinks due to the wait. We weren't. We did complain and were offered them but unfortunately they did not arrive. We thought they may be on the table when we were called in 50 mins late.. they weren't . We were 2 hours in total. Had to ask a couple of times for drinks . In that 2 hours some people on our table only received 2 drinks. We did not get our desserts as some of us gave up waiting after 40 minutes. There were queues everywhere. Most of the main courses were fried so very little choice as far as dietary requirements, We were told there was an issue at another paragon restaurant and that had impacted on service. We had all looked forward to this but it did not live up to expectations. We received a discount but it did not excuse the poor service and complete let down that was our Christmas party.

My first time here and we were treated exceptionally well. The food was beyond all my expectations, especially as it was such great value for money with the 2 courses for £22. I got the Soup of the Day which was Tomato and Gochujang (amazing) but the star of the show for me was the Crispy Shredded Beef Salad. I cannot recommend this enough. I will be coming back for that alone. Fantastic experience and wonderful atmosphere with the star lights in the tall windows.

Food was great but the hot food was served on warm plates. Everything else very good indeed.

Excellent,I enjoy value for money pub food, the orange tree is definitely not pub food and the venue and ambience is worth the extra cost if you are treating someone. Service tonight was probably the best I can remember ,my favourite restaurants are millar & carter but the service tonight at orange tree was a lot better than that at millar & carter

Our waitress Ella was so friendly, such a lovely girl. The restaurant was immaculate and very tastefully decorated for Christmas, it looked beautiful. The food was amazing! I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

I booked this place last minute and it was the best decision I have made. The orange tree is a lovely place and the waiter Harry was so accommodating. He is an incredible member of your team. The food was beautiful, I have the chicken skewer and it was cooked so well and tasty. I came here after my graduation and was greeted with a glass of champagne and a card from the team. Beautiful place to go, can’t recommend it enough.
