My partner and I, along with 2 other couples, visited this pub after walking carding Mill Valley. We were shown to our table after only a 5 min wait on a busy Sunday and provided with the Sunday lunch menu. There were multiple things out of stock, which wasn't really much of an issue as there were lots of alternatives to choose from (even for our veggies in the group). The waiting staff were friendly, helpful, and obviously apologetic about the missing menu items. The food came quickly and was well portioned among the sharing items for the Sunday lunches . There was also live music within the venue at the time if visiting, which was a very nice surprise! The pricing was also mid range as we all spent about 15-20 pounds per person. Would 100% come again to try their weekday menu when we are back in the area walking/hiking the valley.

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Sunday lunch was ok despite them having very little choice for vegetarians as the roast had sold out. Could have done with some mashed potato with the 3 roasters

We visited the Kings Arms after walking along the National Trust Long Mynd trail. Although we hadn’t booked, we managed to sit down and have lunch. The food is nice, although the portions are on the larger size, local beers are great, and the board games on offer add to the occasion. Would recommend if you’re in the area, and especially so if you’ve just finished a walk/hike.

Stopped by for lunch today and wasn't expecting such nice food for pub grub fare!!! I had pork belly and mash which was delicious and my friend had a HUGE smoked salmon and prawn salad which was fresh and very good. The prices were VERY reasonable and the service was attentive and friendly. Would defiantly return when in the area.

Went here with a group of friends for Sunday Lunch. The staff were lovely and there was a good selection of drinks. The coffee I had was lovely. The roast dinner was decent but nothing to write home about. My main complaint was that it wasn't particularly warm. The pork was a little dry without the gravy and the roast potatoes could have done with being crispier on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also felt that 3 small potatoes was a bit of a mean portion. In fairness I didn't say anything to give them the chance to get it right as I had somewhere to be after so didn't want to be delayed. The crackling & stuffing was nice and there was plenty of veg to go with it (not pictured) and the portion of pork was generous. With a few tweaks it could be a really good roast.

Although Church Street is is my nearest town I haven't been to the Kings Arms years, the last time it was a small typical drinkers pub. My wife and I had some time to kill after some last minute Christmas shopping and being aware that Jouel's brewery had bought the place we went there for a drink. An unbelievable transformation greeted us, fully extended incorporating some of the original outbuildings, sympathetically refurbished retraining the original character. Stone walls, rustic furniture, many alcoves, log burners, antique furniture etc etc. It has to be seen. Also there is a large covered outdoor area with a garden beyond. Enough of the transformation, extensive reasonably priced menu, local ales including their own Green Monkey craft lager, plenty of excellent staff, and a warm cozy atmosphere throughout.. Can't fault it 👏 👏 👏

Seemed like a great pub with a buzzing atmosphere, and nice to see space for drinkers and not just all tables, although there was still plenty of space for diners. We visited for Sunday roast, and while service was good and food was nice, the portions were tiny. I had roast chicken and it just didn’t fill me up at all. I would rather pay an extra few quid and have a proper lunch. Sorry, but only 3 star review due to me leaving hungry.

This is quite a big pub as deceptively stretches at the back but retains a cosy real pub atmosphere. Friendly welcome & we ordered drinks & food. Just some olives to share as a start which were delicious & well dressed & as the fish & chips( cooked well) was an absolutely huge plate any more would have been a stretch. Good array of their own Joules ale & we tried the pale, monk & batch. My only niggle is the ales do seem a little bland but overall would recommend.

I didn't catch her name, but the landlady was super friendly, came over with treats & water for Diego & took our orders. Fish & chips & it was perfect! It was fresh & tasty, really nice Cod. The locals were friendly too, despite not knowing us from Adam. My type of pub! If you're in Church Stretton & after some cosy drinks & nice food, I'd recommend giving this pub a go.

Unfortunately the food was awful. Raw sweet potato and lentil curry. Couldn't pierce with a fork. Cold steak. Onion rings also nearly raw. Lovely Joules pub and good service with a nice atmosphere. Sadly they’ve changed the Sunday menu & very little to choose from. This time round visiting we were not happy due to this change. But the food we did order was good. The cauliflower cheese that came with my beef was bland. The fish & chips were good & my son’s child’s portion was ok. They do cater for people with allergies if you ask. We were not acknowledged for a while when we turned up, we were ignored by the bar tender, which we found rude. So due to our experience overall I’d give them an 7/10.

The starters were huge. I had.oloves and hummus and there was so much..plus two pitta breads. Would have been better as a sharing starter. Husband had Kim prawn starter and said that was lovely too. We then had steak and an extra portion of scampi. Sadly this was underwhelming. 4 pieces of scampi cost an extra £5! The onion rings were so big... not particularly pleasant, and the rest of the food was quite bland. Not worth the price tag in my opinion. Would have been better if a bit of salad or peas added. Just so bland. And no lemon for the scampi, lovely place though and we were undercharged and I informed them accordingly.. just a few added touches would have made the meal spot on.

There's nothing we craved more than ending the walk with a decent meal. And while there's lots of options to choose from in Church Stretton, we lucked out with first choice of the Kings Arms, because they were serving exactly what we were after. Pie. We were pleasantly surprised that this wasn't all they had going for them. Decent selection of beer, nice warm interior that filled up quick in the bar area, but then an even bigger restaurant and outdoor earlier out the back. Of course, the steak and ale pie was exceptional, served with gravy, chips and a generous portion of veg. Just what we were after. Special mention to the lads serving in the restaurant. Passed here by chance last Saturday lunchtime. We were looking for a dog friendly pub serving food. I popped in to ask. Immediately, I spotted 2 dogs lay out on the floor while their owners ate lovely, mouthwatering meals. 3 areas to eat in. 2 of which are open to dogs. A bowl of water was requested and supplied for our dog. My wife and I were delighted by the quality and quantity of our meals. The wife had a steak with blue cheese ciabata, and large fish and chips with pureed peas. A smaller portion is available. The clientele were friendly, the dogs were friendly and the staff and management were friendly. HOW COME WE HAVE NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE? A good sized beer garden and lawn for when the weather is better. An adequately sized car park. Oh, I almost forgot the beer! Guest ales available. Apparently, 3 types during January then 5 for the rest of the year. Cider and lagers also on draught. Cleanliness: EXCELLENT throughout the establishment. Many thanks for a memorable visit.
