Friendly pub with good beer and food. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal here - huge portions and really friendly staff

Three of us callled in for lunch,just as the pub opened,12noon,we ordered our food at 12.15,and waited until almost 1pm to be served,we were the first to order and be served.The staff were very friendly,the food reasonably priced,and plenty of it,I had the ploughman's which was underwhelming, the ham was good quality but dry the pork pie was last weeks,stale pastry and hard filling,My friends enjoyed their meals which were fish and chips and cajun chicken.

Popped in with my wife for a couple of nice cold beers after a good walk. Good atmosphere inside and a lovely secluded beer garden at the rear.

The Kings Arms is such a lovely, historic pub. Service is friendly and the Joules ales snd food are excellent. Food portion sizes are huge, and every element of the dish is fresh and tasty. We had gammon, fish and chips, pies and chips and Shropshire blue mushrooms on toast snd every dish was delicious.

If ur thinking about bring your dog to this pub Don’t Local people sitting right by the door with 2 big dogs attacked my dog and all he had to say they been there longer then yours What a way to control your animals Owner of the pub needs to sort this out befor it hurts someone

Great steak and ale pie, massive desserts for the price, reasonably priced drinks. What more do you need?

Service was poor...was told cannot be served food on a Sunday at 4pm due to them being busy. However customer were walking in and being seated

Having parked round the corner in the local car park we had a very warm welcome by the staff. Our 10 month baby enjoyed a clean high chair while the dog tucked into his ice cream. Local ales were good and food was tasty. Thank you to the ladies who waited on our table & made the experience so pleasant.

We had a large family meal there, we were looked after brilliantly and the food was enjoyed by all. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Bustling nice pub, lots of outdoor space. Felt very local!

The starters were huge. I had.oloves and hummus and there was so much..plus two pitta breads. Would have been better as a sharing starter. Husband had Kim prawn starter and said that was lovely too. We then had steak and an extra portion of scampi. Sadly this was underwhelming. 4 pieces of scampi cost an extra £5! The onion rings were so big... not particularly pleasant, and the rest of the food was quite bland. Not worth the price tag in my opinion. Would have been better if a bit of salad or peas added. Just so bland. And no lemon for the scampi, lovely place though and we were undercharged and I informed them accordingly.. just a few added touches would have made the meal spot on.

Celebrated St George's Day lunch here with my son. He had Fish and Chips, I had the smaller plate. First class, as always. Very good portions; fresh food; lovely, helpful staff; good value and a superb glass of Blonde. Already looking forward to my next visit. 😊

We arrived at noon, were warmly greeted and settled into a charming booth. Drinks advice was first class and menu options many and varied. The quality of the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The portion sizes were extremely generous and none of us could finish our meal - the Ploughman's was described as a 'light bite' it is definitely a main meal! We would definitely recommend for a satisfying pub lunch with friendly service.

Unfortunately for others, our dog is very nervous about others, and it can be a problem when out. We said this when we booked, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. We were given a table in the corner, and the staff approached with care. The food was excellent, and portion size was a little large for us, but the dog enjoyed the leftovers. Very relaxed atmosphere and comfortable with very professional staff.

Excellent food and atmosphere and the service in the restaurant was exceptional We also loved the sausages rolls on the bar on Friday - a fab welcoming start to our weekend break

The food was amazing. The standard was exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The amount and quality of food for the money was brilliant.

Down rated due to the lack of food available and slight ineptness of the staff to cope with business and food situation. 45minute wait for food however I think it may have been a one off. The food that was served was mostly good! 10oz Rump steak for me was cooked perfectly and a lovely cut + the peppercorn sauce was to die for. However the chicken burger - just chicken on a bun. No sauce no butter no nothing. Other meals from the group were good! Busy place with live music in the front and restaurant in the back! Dog friendly in the pub AND restaurant!

The pub looked so small and crowded from the outside, I avoided going until the Monday of my stay arrived and everwhere else was closed. How I wished I'd tried it sooner! There is a large dining area to the rear of the main bar, and was immediatedly accommodated by the welcoming staff. All of of the team were helpful and pleasant, with a good range of pub classic choices, plus a few more unusual dishes. Portions were plentiful to put it mildly! All carefully cooked and easily digested. This place certainly turned out to be the most reliable choice in town!

Meals at The Kings are always great. Varied menu and the portions are huge - we order the smaller versions so we have room for pudding. Puddings are ace. Service is always top notch too.

There's nothing we craved more than ending the walk with a decent meal. And while there's lots of options to choose from in Church Stretton, we lucked out with first choice of the Kings Arms, because they were serving exactly what we were after. Pie. We were pleasantly surprised that this wasn't all they had going for them. Decent selection of beer, nice warm interior that filled up quick in the bar area, but then an even bigger restaurant and outdoor earlier out the back. Of course, the steak and ale pie was exceptional, served with gravy, chips and a generous portion of veg. Just what we were after. Special mention to the lads serving in the restaurant. Actually some of the best service we've experienced. Thanks a lot!

Booked a table by phone. You can book in restaurant but not bar. We had lasagne and a cannelloni. Big portions of good pub food. Specials also. Cosy in a booth in the restaurant. Couldn’t fault it

If the only way your kitchen is able to test a steak is to cut into it and allow all the juices to escape.. at least check the thickest part to ensure its actually cooked and not raw. It's pretty basic stuff.

Great service we decided on lunch a little late, arrived at 5 mins before cut off time and still recieved a welcome, excellently prepared and presented food, there was no objection to us sharing a baguette which proved large enough for two at lunch and the friendlyness of the staff was striking, their service amazing.

Basic, massive portions served by humans, in a pub not pretending to be something it's not.

Popped in for lunch mid week. Service good. Food fine for a snack. Noticed prices have gone up/ but they have everywhere. My concern was number of dogs- I saw six! I like and own dogs but don’t see the need for them with me at lunch in. Pub. Maybe the pub should limit numbers?

Lovely food as we was traveling through back to Gloucestershire. The gentleman from the kitchen came out to have a conversation on his break, and what a lovely chap he was. Amazing location and really friendly happy bunch there. I wouldn't regret going back there again :) look forward to it in fact. You will be spoilt for choice on what's on their menus.

Was quite a quaint pub, 10/15 mins walk from where we were staying... staff were friendly, had some live music at the back... 2 dogs roaming around ha, but they were super chill (and I'm not usually the biggest fan!) - only stayed for a couple but it was welcoming considering we were a diverse group not from around that part of town!

Used to come here every week when we lived next door. This is the first time visiting in years. Amazing what they have done to it, lots more seats and space now. I've never had food here before so tried the fish and chips, they were lovely and came really quick. The staff were friendly, there were two dogs there, so well behaved. Definitely come back again.

Stopped for a drink on our mini tour of Shropshire . More of an historic local pub than anything else. When we arrived we were told that there's a BBQ later as part of the celebrations,so no food. The town is celebrating I think an 800yr anniversary so had flags out of Lords house's of the local area. Had stopped for a bit of lunch and didn't want to stay for hours so we moved on.

We both had fish and chips every bland no flavour too the batter no seasoning too the peas we shall not visit again We called here last year and the food was nice I don’t know what has changed

Location, building, decor, garden and service were all good. Food was disappointing for the price. Four different meals and all four of us underwhelmed unfortunately. Heard another couple complaining about the deserts as we were paying.

Got rudely shouted at for quietly waiting to be served for food because they closed kitchen half an hour earlier than advertised. Staff obviously prioritises locals. Made us feel very unwelcome and out of place.

It was a good job that the food was outstanding. I very nearly walk out after being overlooked twice while trying to order food at the bar. The bartender finished pumping through a new barrel and proceeded to look over a lady who stood at the bar next to me and asked two I assume regulars for their order behind us,who had just walked up to the bar that second. It was one of these guys that said, " Have you been served" to the lady in front. For the bar worker to realise the lady needed serving. Then she overlooked me by serving the regulars, and then a man sat at the bar who had only just finished his drink if he was having the same again. I had to interrupt by asking if I was in the right place to order food before I was finally served. The food did arrive promptly and was exceptional for a pub in a small town. There wasn't any soap in the gents, so I had to use the disabled toilet to wash my hands.

A proper countryside pub. Rustic feel to the place, wooden beams a plenty. Brilliant beer selection, friendly staff. Good sized beer garden aswell. Would definitely return in the future.

We booked a table earlier in the afternoon as the pub was busy and reserved signs were already on some of the tables. We were so glad we did. The food was delicious, there was a good variety of dishes and the portion sizes were huge. The service was good and there was a really lovely atmosphere on the pub. Would definitely recommend.
