Great service and good food, simple and tasty... really nice fish pie, and gammon and eggs. Out doors pods were full, but plenty of room inside. Quick service and great choice, good portions and really great value for money.

Visited for the first time since before the pandemic and very pleased to see it’s just as good as I remember! Staff are friendly and service is prompt, food was wonderful and we sat outside in one of the pods which was a novelty. Very happy and would 100% recommend

A really lovely find. We had a little look around the antique place down the road and really fancied a steak lunch when finished. We came across the Merry Harriers pub and it was perfect. A good selection of drinks and the food menu was perfect, lots of choice. We enjoyed the steaks, but I had food envy as my daughter had the Chicken Fajitas, that looked awesome!

Top! The babol where you can eat their dishes are characteristic. They are well served and of excellent quality...as well as being plentiful. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good service.

I was invited to have a meal with friends on 22nd March and we were served by great staff in “ the bubble” and it was something I’d never experienced before ! It was a wonderful meal and plenty of choices ! I would definitely recommend 👍👍👍

Met up with friends and a couple of their dogs for sunday lunch. We all had different meats off the carvary menu, and all gave very positive feedback and also on the fresh vegetables. We were all made welcome, and the service was very good. Fully recommended.

Popular pub with excellent home cooked food. We were late for lunchtime but they still served food. One of the few in the area that serve all day. Car park is around the back. Places to sit outside, including domes!

One of the best pub lunches We have had in a long time. Ordered drinks at the bar and said we wanted to eat. Shown to the table and left with menus, drinks were then bought to the table. Had the best Fish and Chips we have had in a long time ,washed down with a really good pint if Teignworthy. Service was brilliant, will certainly come back for more Thank you.

This pub never fails to deliver. Good quality food that is cooked well. Something for everyone on the extensive menu. It’s a traditional country, locals pub with great food and they do it really well. If people visit from up North this is where I take them, dependable food, lovely coat interior and great welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious here. Well done 👏

After a lost booking, and subsequent phone call, they managed to find us a pod to dine it. Food was lovely, as it has been on previous occasions, the GF fish and chips and cherry cheesecake were to die for. The lovely young gentleman who took our order was friendly, attentive and very helpful. Looking forward to returning soon.

Fabulous place to eat with superb food great atmosphere and outstanding service from all the staff. Presentation of food was superb, I ordered prawn cocktail to start along with a main of sea bass in a beautiful sauce with green beans and baby potatoes followed by panna cotta with fresh berries for desert. This was then followed by a fine selection of cheese and crackers with coffee to finish. Wonderful lunch and will definitely be visiting again very soon

I nipped in to the Harriers to do some work on their WiFi this afternoon and I was greeted by John and his friendly team, whom were all very attentive and accommodating going above and beyond to make my visit easy and comfortable. I ordered a pork roast which was very tasty, as us northerners say ‘a propa hearty English dinner with all trimmings’ and that it was. Highly recommended

My steak was over cooked I asked for medium rare but got well done and it was very dry I got about 8 chips and was just not very pleasant. None of the servers came over to check if anything was ok or for more drinks. Not very impressed if I’m honest.

Wow, what a lovely lot of food to choose from! We had a job to make our decision because we fancied all of it. When we did make our choices we were all very happy with them too!

Went on steak night, every Thursday, we had two sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine , and a dessert each. The food was excellent, the pub was quite full and I can see why, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will go again.

Came here twice while staying in Cullompton Sunday lunch was amazing with plenty of meat and fresh veg Second visit, I had the fish & chips It's very tasty and fresh This is a very nice pub / eating place with outside pods, too Booking is essential as it gets very busy

Food was fantastic, service awesome, there is parking at the back of the pub and across the road. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Remember to book.

We called on the way back from Cornwall on a Sunday evening. From the moment we walked in we were made welcome by the friendly staff. The Sunday roast was still on offer and the topside of beef was generously portioned. The veg were fresh tasting and nicely presented, and the gravy was just brilliant. The desserts were even better, especially the warm waffle banana split which I highly recommend. Many thanks.

Well what can I say about this place?! Absolutely outstanding in every way, the service offered, the friendly smiley staff, the quality of food, the presentation of the food, and the vast choice of food. Honestly cannot rate this high enough. Made my daughter’s birthday very special by decorating the garden Dome. I just wish I was a local to use it more often.

We are staying at a fabulous nearby campsite. I booked the table two hours ago as I could see the place is busy. When we arrived the man behind the bar greeted me by my first name. We had Fajitas, the seafood platter and french fries. Every dish was fresh and beautifully prepared. The waiting staff asked if we needed water for our dogs and when we said yes they brought two bowls with ice cubes in them as it was a hot evening. People say we aren't very good at customer service in the UK. They clearly haven't been here. What a treat. Most highly recommended. The local cider is a must have too. Top notch.🙂

Fantastic service and British country pub ambience with plenty of parking. The decor could do with a bit of a refresh as it looked a bit tired, but spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly, food came quickly, and it felt very family friendly. Really large easily accessible baby changing that was clean and well placed. The food was ok, we had a roast dinner (beef and nut roast) followed by dessert. Meat was very well cooked and succulent, veges on the other hand tasted a bit stale and old. My cabbage looked like it had been bought a while ago as it was going brown, and the roast potatoes were a bit cardboard in taste. The Yorkshire pud I don't think was homemade. The desserts tasted a little canteen in flavour, and I was told they are assembled from pre bought ingredients rather than made from scratch which was obvious to me in the taste. Our kilner bottle of water also had algae growing round the rubber on the lid.

Had a great Sunday lunch, please don’t stop offering lamb, it was amazing. Great customer service and lovely atmosphere.. highly recommended

Warm and welcoming friendly pub with an extensive menu. Attentive staff and landlord - proper hearty honest pub food. Pre booking (and ordering) a decent idea too.

Good food! Huge bit of fish with really crispy batter. Lovely chunky crispy chips. Posh mayo and ketchup. My partner had steak and said it was very tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Very pleased they serve food all day, as we were travelling home and were starving at around 3pm on a Monday! Would recommend.

Had a lovely family meal, good understanding of gluten free, I had the roast beef, minus the Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese, the cauliflower cheese was gluten free I just didn't want it, I also had a gf pudding which very rare as not many places have gf puddings, dog friendly too

This place is a gem. Amazing food (quality, taste, variety) and brilliant service. We had lunch in a bubble outside for a family birthday meal and could not have had a better time. Nice old traditional pub that far exceeded our expectations (and far outweighs pubs that appear more modern). Dog friendly too. We had the beef lasagne, beef burger with the chunkiest chips, Mediterranean tart with sweet pot fries, veggie Cajun burger. Side salad was nicely dressed. Huge portions. The fish and chips looked really good too. Huge dessert menu, all delicious. I honestly can't believe they can pull off a menu this big so we'll but they do!

Been here a few times and always good atmosphere and good service. The food is amazing, plenty of choice and so good to eat forgot to take any pictures before eating 😋

Good pub but offers a mixed experience. While the roast was decent but not exceptional, they did accommodate my request for a mixed trio of meat which I appreciate. The desserts truly stole the show with a perfect score. Especially the banana split and the raspberry cheesecake, definitely homemade! However, the odd service overshadowed the meal, leaving much to be desired. Confused our drink orders and empty plates and cups weren't collected after several visits to the table. Also had mayo dropped on the table. Overall, a place with potential, but improvements in service are needed for a more satisfying dining experience.

We arrived here as a large group with no notice. They were warm and incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond, opening up one of their back rooms to give us a space to eat together as a family. I don't think they knew but this was the weekend of my grandfather's funeral and their kindness and incredible service really let us properly be together as a family. The food was excellent and even when a mistake was made they happily and efficiently sorted it without issue. I would highly recommend this place without hesitation and will hopefully have the opportunity to eat here again some day.

This pub is a must if you’re in the area, we stayed at the CL next door for a night while in the way down to Cornwall. Fabulous range of local ciders and the food was absolutely spot on! Can firmly recommend the steak.

Went for daughters bday dinner after having previously visited for a carvery. Had the lentil burger if you can call it that, two frozen round breaded things, dry in a bap. Sorriest excuse for a meal, Others in the group also had similar experience. Just wish I had taken a photo!

Had a wonderful valentines meal here. Place was decorated really nicely and the steak was absolutely amazing, one of the best I’ve had out ever. Good portion sizes and pleasant staff. Thank you John and team!

I am Jude, age 8. The food here i must say is lovely just wonderful. Everyone here is so kind and helpful. The kids portions are great but i felt i could eat more chips which i did from Mums plate because she had a lot. Mum and Dad loved it too. I highly recommend the childrens meat lasagne and the profiteroles for dessert which I had to share :( Mum is a veggie and she said there was lots of choice. I'm glad I came here and you can do the same.

Stopped here to grab a late lunch. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. A little slow but they were busy and if you want fresh food then it's certainly worth the wait. Will definately go again when in the area.

Very busy midweek night. Lots of festive gatherings. Food choices were exceptional with a large menu and a long list of specials and an even longer list of desserts, great food, large portions and reasonably priced and staff were very attentive on what appeared to be a busy night. Very impressed for a small pub. Will certainly be back for more.

Stopped in here on the way back to are caravan park. What an absolutely amazing place. The barman couldn't of been more accommodating on a very busy night. The food was absolutely first class lasagne was proberly the best we have had including Italian restaurants that we have been to. Staff very friendly and polite the only negative is we don't live closer. Highly recommended.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. We had a table by the fire - perfect cosy atmosphere. I had tiger prawns and the best steak I've had for ages, although the rest of menu looked amazing. Highly recommended.

We had one of the outdoor bubble areas, which was fantastic. The food was lovely and service in a reasonable time frame. Lovely portion sizes and great tasting food. The roasts are particularly delicious! Toilets were clean and easily accessible.

We stayed here as had a wedding nearby. It was a lovely place but we felt that our room was too small for what we paid, as it was quite expensive. The room was called 'garden view' but all it was was a small window looking out to a hedge. Our room was basically a double bed and a tiny en suite with very little room to move around / iron clothes / get ready. We ate at the pub on the Sunday (roast) and had breakfast both mornings and the food was delicious. The staff on both the evening and morning shifts were super friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and looked after.

I booked a table for 2 + a dog As the dog dragged me through the door we were welcomed by very friendly staff who settled our nerves about eating out for the first time with our dog. Food was very nice and dog even got a bowl of water & a couple of sausages to keep him happy while we ate. Very nice friendly & relaxed place and the domes outside look great but was abit wet to try those We will be going back

Great local pub, serving traditional pub food, quality ingredients, and well presented/served. The staff are all really nice and attentive, service is quick with no fuss. My only issue was the desert menu! I wanted every single one and could only choose 2 (the Mrs wouldn't let me have 1 of each) I'll just have to keep going so I can try every one!

Helpful friendly staff, relaxed environment. Some outdoor seating under cover. Good service. Beer was great had O'hanlons yellowhammer. Tastes well kept. Came in late in the day but managed to get some desserts and cheese and crackers. Had a great time with my friends 👍 Recommended Easy access being a couple of miles off j28 of the M5 too. Very close to bear town, 100 yards away.

What a lovely place to come to eat. We haven’t eaten here before but we certainly will be back. It was full but they manage to move us to a different table with no fuss. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. The meals were fantastic, food well cooked, plates were hot and they even did a smaller portion for my Mum. We couldn’t fault it in any way.

Lovely food , pleasant staff nice little country pub

Had dinner at the Merry Harriers with three fellow hungry walkers. We were not disappointed. The beer was good, the service, even on a busy September evening in a heat wave, was excellent. And the food was delicious and well presented. In fact possibly one of the best pub-meals I’ve ever had. I’m not going to say what I ordered in case there’s a run on it and it’s not available when I return, which I shall.

Popped in for a drink, ending up having dinner. They have tables, pods, and half pods which makes for sun with out the wind. We dined on a Thursday having their special of two Steak dinners and a bottle of house wine white or Red / or drink of your choice, beer and large wine, all for £35. The food was lovely, steak cooked perfectly, the chips nice, with mushroom, tomato and salad. Can improve the toliets, there were all sorts of buckets and bits at the entrance. Overall have full range of pub food, if cooked as per our meals, will be lovely. Worth a visit.

We have been visiting The Merry Harriers for several years and we are never disappointed. John & the team are all very welcoming and go above and beyond. They have a large garden room, that we normally ask to be seated in as if we are dinning altogether there is around 20 of us. The food is always excellent and sourced from local suppliers. We will be returning again and again. Thank you John and your team, always making us welcome.
