One of the best cafes in Oxford! So many vegan and gf options, and the vibe is super friendly. Vegan sausage roll is my favourite pastry in the city, highly recommend this cafe whether you're visiting or local <3

Read about this spot while visiting my daughter at Oxford. Looking for a place to accommodate a Celiac and was not disappointed! The cafe is quaint and the staff beyond friendly amen knowledgeable. Hard to top the service but the food just might! I had gluten free avocado toast with spinach tomatoes and mushrooms. Delicious! My daughter had avocado lettuce tomato sandwich on sourdough (not gf) and loved it! The baked goods are gf and many df, and the owner suggested I try his favorite - the giant cinnamon roll. I haven’t had a cinnamon roll in nearly 2 decades and this was amazing! Better than I can imagine a “real” cinnamon roll could taste. Highly recommend this eatery!

My friend and I have stayed in Oxford for 3 days and keep coming back here, wonderful food, a great family run business and got these beautiful friendship bracelets from Alice. We love them and we’re so excited to show them off the rest of our time in Europe!

My friends and I were visiting Oxford and stopped into this cafe. The owner had a basket of friendship bracelets out to sell that he said his 7 year old daughter made to raise money for her “university fund.” There was a sign and a recommended contribution of 3 pounds. We purchased 7 in total between us, and were a little bit suspicious when he didn’t seem to be tracking the “donations” properly, but just filing them under ‘misc’ which could be anything at a cafe. I was recently in a shop in LA and saw the identical bracelets which prompted me to Google them — only to learn they are mass produced from Temu. We all have photos of our bracelets that match identically to the ones online down to the bead pattern. This is shocking behaviour. I hope you take those bracelets off your counter immediately.

Amazing cakes, with organic options widely available. I asked about teas without plastic wrapping, and was pleased to learn that their tea wrappings are plastic-free. Hot tea can sometimes leach plastics from fancy packaging, so I appreciated the owner taking the time to show me the packaging, which confirmed it’s free of plastics. The locally-made cakes—prepared by the owner's wife and another staff member—are incredible. The banana cake was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the Earl Grey tea was a real treat. Plus, the WiFi is hassle-free. If you’re lucky enough to grab a spot downstairs, it’s a perfect place to relax before catching a bus to the airport or just after. Much less hassle than Caffè Nero, with better quality food and prices!

Since we have a daughter who has Celiac disease, this place was a perfect breakfast place. We came here four mornings in a row because this was the only place we could find a gluten free pancake (there are probably others, but this was close to the hotel, and several places we tried had gluten free items, but no pancakes or waffles). My husband and I also enjoyed the cinnamon rolls (not gluten free, to the disappointment of my daughter). The service was good and the staff was friendly. I would recommend.

Nice food and some gluten-free options. I'd previously visited mid-week and had great service. But on Saturday at 1.30pm was shocked to see every table upstairs covered in dirty plates. Really off-putting. Young girls were working then and it seemed that no one was taking charge.

This place ticks many boxes for us but we were disappointed by the food we had. The first time we went we had soup. It tasted OK but was like water. The second time we went the soup was again like water. The pancake was American style, strongly vanilla flavoured, very thick and had a dry texture. The very opposite of what my wife wanted and not even finishable by me. The waitress said it was gluten free which is what I'd guessed but most places would name it as such. I didn't want to make an issue about labelling so let it go.

We organised a surprise baby shower for my sister here and had booked the room upstairs and ordered grazing platters. When we arrived the lady behind the counter told us that our booking had never been confirmed so they didn't have the space for us. We went and sat outside waiting for the rest of our party and the lady came out again and said that actually they did have the food that we had ordered, but not the table/space we had booked, which is weird as I don't understand how you would have the food but not the space? We also had a confirmation email from the manager saying that our booking was confirmed. I understand that mistakes can happen, but there was no effort made to try to rectify the mistake or help us.. we were left outside trying to think of a solution, the manager wouldn't even come out of the kitchen to speak to us, we got no apology from anybody and no solution was offered. Luckily my sister lives just outside of Oxford so we ended up going back to her house, but this was a massive inconvenience and not what had originally been planned. The cafe gave us the food they had for us, but it was chili and salad, not grazing boards so we didn't even get the food that we had ordered and there wasn't enough to feed everyone in attendance so we had to stop by a shop on our way to my sisters. Overall I was unimpressed with how the cafe dealt with their mistake and the poor customer service that we experienced. Mistakes happen but the most important thing is how you deal with the mistake and this one wasn't dealt with at all.

What I love about this place it’s inclusivity for dietary requirement - gluten free for me! We had a coffee and both had the Avon Awesome. We chose to sit downstairs, if I went again I’d go upstairs as it got a bit cold as it was a bit of a rubbish day weather wise. There was quite a delay on the arrival of the food I would have loved to have this communicated just to manage expectations - it was about 40 minutes. By this time we had both finished our coffee and weren’t really up for food at this point. What I will say is when it did arrive there was an apology for the wait and the food was really delicious. The eggs, avocado, toast and bacon were just such a combo and everything was fresh and really flavoursome. It’s a great family run business and worth a visit for sure! Next time I’m having pancakes 😁 They also do a combo of juices and smoothies and sell fresh produce so if you are in the area do go and visit them!

Fantastic gluten free and vegan options!! I came here a few days ago and had a wonderful gluten free toastie with pesto, vegan cheese and tomatoes. The pesto was so tasty, and the texture of the homemade gluten free bread so good, that came back the very next day to buy another!! They can make any sandwich gluten free, which means there are plenty of options. Their cakes are INCREDIBLE. I can strongly recommend the gluten free pumpkin cake - one of the best gluten free cakes I've ever eaten out! And the carrot cake, which is also dairy free, was yummy too. They had so many options - different brownies, huge choc chip cookies, pumpkin loafs, matcha balls, vegan chocolate cake. The slices and slabs are also really good sizes - not like the disappointingly small slices you sometimes get in a cafe. You absolutely must come here if you are gluten free or vegan. No other cafe comes close! The staff are so so friendly. The man and woman that run the cafe are so cheerful and welcoming, even though they are working really hard and fast because there were lots of orders. I ordered my toastie as a takeaway, and it was ready in 10-15 minutes. Thank you Organic Deli Cafe for the wonderful food. I will absolutely be back when I'm next in Oxford to try the smoothie bowls, the porridge made with gf oats, and the homemade granola. I only wish I lived closer!

One of the best pubs in Oxford. Still a « proper » pub. Very friendly staff with landlord Jimmy at the helm , wide range of drinks, good food. Inside is warm, cosy, full of atmosphere, and a crackling fire to boot. Lovely mix of clientele. The large garden has been refreshed: loads of tables, outside bar, pretty garden, big screens for sporting events but never intrusive if you’re not interested. A gem of a pub.
