You get what you pay for. Curry very thin like a soup. Ribs were almost grey in colour. Must have been a bad night but won’t eat here again.

Microwaved ribs that were cold. Rest of food was ok. Didn’t charge for a desert

Stayed one night in our camper. Lovely area for campervans, free if you eat in the pub. I would absolutely recommend. Fast service and the food was awesome.

Rustic, original English pub with a very good selection of beer and excellent cuisine. Ate here twice and tried various things on the menu (English / Indian / vegetarian). Delicious ! Large and quiet parking lot in the back of the yard.

Motorhome stopover, pleasant and free in exchange for having your meal on site. Very good meal and nice ad.

We stayed here in our motorhome for three nights. What a great little find. This is a great pub, the food is excellent, very reasonably priced and the portion sizes are very generous. Great pub. Cosy interior, friendly staff and delicious food for reasonable prices. We stayed at their car park with our camper for one night. Plenty of space and nice level grounds. It's free to stay if you drink or eat something in the pub.🙏 To visit Oxford, it's only a half an hour walk and it's a beautiful walk too, mostly going through parks. Absolutely recommended!!

Called in on a Sunday and had the fish and chips and it was excellent, highly recommended. Large car park at rear but decided not to stay over in motorhome and continue home but I would definitely stay over here in our van in the future. Bus stop directly opposite the pub.

Behind the pub there is a large area that can accommodate a few motorhomes. We were able to stand for free and both walked into town and took the bus that stops next to the pub.

We were there with the motorhome and were warmly welcomed. The food was absolutely great. Home cooking. Exactly what a tourist needs 💪

Loved this place. From landlady down to the paint on the gate! What a lovely place. Smart, clean, comfy, warm, welcoming and relaxing. Even when 40+ people came in and wanted food, the staff coped so well and still managed to honour all previously placed orders. Even the fella washing the pots asked if my meal was ok!!! The food was lovely as were the hand pulled ales. The service and initial welcome was great. I actually "stopped over" in my motor home as I was supporting my Son who was at the local Churchill Hospital. They asked for nothing but to have a beer and a bite So pleased to have found this place, serviced by solid, reliable, helpful staff. Truly fantastic. Will be back 5 Star PLUS!

Family-friendly, pet-friendly. Lovely staff. Solid pub fare, good range of drinks. Great ambiance no matter the weather and time of year. Huge yard for sunny days, and cozy old building with charcoal/wood fires in Winter. Easily my favourite local "watering-hole".

Thursday 30th May held the wake of our mother at this venue… the staff ( mother and daughter) were wonderful .. the food , including gluten free and salads were amazing . … plenty for everyone Thank you Ladies !

Such a lovely place. Made very welcome in our motorhome and a green area to exercise our dog. All is required is to eat there. That wasn't a problem. The food was well priced and delicious. We would go back.

What a gem, we called first to park our motorhome in the car park and the owner explained that food finished at 3pm, we didn't arrive in time for food but had a drink in the bar, staying in the carpark overnight.... great quite night's sleep, we were moving on the next morning but it was an easy bike ride into Oxford centre from here so decided to see if we could stay another night.....the pub wasn't open on a Monday so I rang but no answer.....cheakily we decided to cycle in anyway.....I called again at lunch time and the owner answered, I apologised and explained we left the motorhome there and she was so lovely about it, allowing us to stay that night even though they weren't open. I'd love to thank them for their hospitality and would definitely recommend the red lion it's a great pub,with lovely outside space, friendly staff, a great location and a fantastic owner....and next time we will have some food 👍😁💕

Stayed overnight in our motorhome, booked ahead & had table waiting for us. Great food, fast service & good quality & quantity. Flat grass pitch with easy access. No charge as we ate in the pub. Highly recommend.

Friendly service. My first time lamb shank with peppermint in the sauce - not again for me. The shank was well cooked though, and the salmon was really good.

Stayed in our motorhome to visit the Oxford Literary Festival. Has a lovely meal with my sister and brother in law in the evening. Good food and great service. Deal is free stay if you eat in the pub. Convenience if visiting Oxford and in on bus route.

Haven't been here for a few years but my Brother in Law suggested we go here for Sunday Lunch. The main course was excellent and served incredibly quickly. However my desert was very disappointing, Strawberry Eton mess with tinned strawberries ( which were warm ) and a small amount of meringue and Ice cream, £7. To cap it all there was a couple sat 2 tables away from us who had a Dog with them who Barked/Yapped all the way through our Lunch, at times we couldn't hear what we were saying. Not the best experience.

We stopped there with our campervan, they have a large car park that can be used by us. The deal is buy food, drink or both, the place is a lovely old pub serving good food and drink. It was fairly full when we arrived at 2020 with more arriving, we had just a main meal each which were extremely good portions. We will be back as it's on the bus route to Oxford so a great place to spend a couple of nights, but please remember the deal and support the pub

Stopped here when travelling in my motorhome. I found the staff very pleasant and the Dinner and Dessert excellent.

We stayed at the Red Lion in our camper van over the New Year. The food was excellent. Scampi and chips + ham, eggs and chips with a side of onion rings. Crisp and perfect! The beer was good too and a great atmosphere.

We stayed for a night in our campervan which is free if you buy food and drinks. The burgers and chips were lovely and the staff very helpful.

Great place. Great atmosphere. Awesome that the Red Lion is welcoming to campervans and provide overnight parking. Visited when there was a Halloween fancy dress theme in the pub, which was amazing. Massive thumbs up to the Big Bad Wolf...best costume I've seen in years. Will recommend this lovely country pub, which is 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk to Oxford city centre.

Wohnmobil Stellplatz. Das ist ein super Spot. Hinter dem Pub steht man wirklich gut. Es gibt zwar keinen Wohnmobil-Service, aber solange der Pub geöffnet hat, kann man zumindest dessen WC nutzen. Diese sind sauber und ordentlich. Der Deal, Essen oder Trinken im Pub gegen Stellplatz ist super fair. Die Leute im Pub sind sehr freundlich, Getränke und Essen sind völlig ok. Vielen Dank an den Wirt. Wir bleiben 2 Nächte.

Aunque el parking para autocaravanas no dispone de ningún servicio, es muy cómodo porque ahí mismo tienes la parada de el bus con un pequeño, pero bonito trayecto hasta el centro de Oxford. Aparcar cuesta 20 libras que bien puedes pagar en mano o gastarlo en consumiciones dentro del pub, esa fue nuestra opción. Volveremos!

No podemos estar más agradecidos por permitir la pernocta con autocaravana en sus instalaciones. Hay buen ambiente, la comida está exquisita a un precio adecuado y el personal es muy amable. ¡Muchas gracias por vuestra hospitalidad!

Just dropped in for a quick drink when passing on a warm afternoon. The Wadsworth 6X was in fine condition. Good selection of gins too. We didn't eat (too late in the afternoon) but the menu looked to be a good range of standard pub grub. Next time, perhaps.

I would have given them 5 stars, but they gave us dirty cutlery for our sweet. But apart from that, they were excellent.

My husband had the fish n’ chips and an IPA, everything was cooked well and tasted great. I had this delicious curry that was a bit of a surprise, but very welcome after jet lag/travel and a cold, rainy day. It was spiced well, not over spicy and well-balanced. Very tasty meal in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The owner really goes above and beyond in terms of service and running a great local pub. We will certainly return and recommend. Prices were quite reasonable and the food is approachable and very comforting.

Recently found the Red Lion - am local but had never been before. Had an ex-work colleagues Christmas meal there and all enjoyed the food, service & atmosphere. Have been back twice since and on each occasion the food, staff and atmosphere was the same! Good value & clearly the landlady/landlord/family and their team are doing their best to provide a good service to their customers. Witnessed on one occasion a superb buffet laid out for a large number of people; this didn’t impinge on the service offered to us - thanks to all at the Red Lion & the hard-working team/chef!

Excellent overnight stay in our motorhome - car park level - plenty space. Food was delicious and very well priced. Staff and pub very welcoming. Didn't make it in to Oxford (35 min walk away) but will definitely be back. Look on website to check motorhome parking availability and also table for meal.

We stayed overnight in our motorhome thank you for allowing us to stay. Nice walk into Oxford through the park. Lovely outside seating area with lots of flowers. Good parking for Motorhomes. We enjoyed an evening meal and drinks staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Last minute decision to find a place to eat before heading back to North West and what a great choice. Trip Advisor reviews made this a sensible choice and we were not disappointed. Lovely welcoming pub tucked away just off the A34 / Marston area. Friendly welcome and lovely menu consisting of quality pub grub. Chose the full rack of ribs & sweet potato fries aswell as the Indian spiced Lamb burger with fries and spicey Mayo. Got to be the best pub food we’ve had in years. Freshly made and cooked to perfection and HOT !!! Lovely atmosphere with great choice of drinks for all. Chocolate fudge cake with caramel ice cream to finish which did not disappoint. The owner / manager is clearly passionate about delivering quality food and service and this is a gem of a place.

Last minute decision on the way home from the Cotswolds, popped in to see if we could get a table for Sunday dinner, had a nice welcome from the barman who put himself out to see if we could get a table as we hadn't booked, we was in luck, we both had the roast beef, well couldn't ask for better, probably the best roast we have had out ever, he was a proper home made roast, couldn't fault it in any way,shame we don't live closer otherwise we would be a regular on a Sunday.
