Great service great value what's not to like. They have loads of offers but the lunchtime menu deal is with the cost of living the best value for miles around. Much better value than a certain carvery place not far away. Kitchen staff are faster than lighting as well.

We were on Holiday in the area and this pud was not far from where we were staying so popped in on the way back from a day out it was very handy as they have food service all day. We had a meal, pudding and drinks. The food was lovely and hot well presented. My husband had the pie and I had the scampi for mains and sticky toffee pudding for after 😋The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed it so we went back again the following night We had the lamb shanks which were to die for so tender. Puddings were rhubarb crumble and Eton mass again these were delicious. The price was good . Lovely old country pub. Definitely would recommend a visit if you are in the area. They were putting up there ready for their Halloween events. They did have a Christmas tree in the porch to advertise their upcoming Christmas events. You could see how much they put in to making the pub welcoming at all times

One of the best pubs in Canterbury. The Thursday pub quiz is legendary! The owners, Abs and Jamie, are amazing hosts! It's very clean and has great staff. Really great food, reasonably priced and very tasty 😋. Great selection of beers, including three cask ales 🙂. Would highly recommend walking from the city centre to this absolute gem of a pub.

Visited for one of the “Great Feast” events at River Cottage HQ Luckily a sunny evening for the downhill walk to River Cottage. It is a beautiful walk in the early evening sunshine (not sure I’d feel the same on a rainy evening 🤔) Quick mention that without a booking you can’t walk down to River Cottage HQ. Once at River Cottage you are free to walk around & explore the gardens, which are beautiful. You are seated on long shared dining tables. Name places are placed along the table so you know where you’re sitting. You are invited into the kitchens throughout your dining experience (which I personally found interesting) The tasting menu is phenomenal. Each course beautifully presented & a delight to the taste buds. It’s not a cheap experience, but I would say worth every penny. Word of advice, when we left it was pitch black so walking uphill on gravel paths was a somewhat “interesting” experience. Again not sure how I’d feel if it was pouring with rain or if I was with someone with mobility issues. We were informed walking to & from was the only option 🤷♀️

The Cadgwith Cove Inn was a regular spot for us to eat and drink in whilst on holiday in the cove. We always received a warm welcome and superb food, all washed nicely down with a few pints of Korev. To top it off, we were entertained by the talent of local singers, musicians and fishermen and women on Tuesday night’s folk night and Friday night’s sea shanties. Overall an amazing pub with a real community feel and where we were made most welcome by Garry, Helen, Nathan and the team.

Upon arrival at The Silks we were greeted and seated by the landlord, Thomas (Thomas Frake winner of Master Chef 2020) who made us feel very welcome, took our order and advised us on wine to accompany our roast sirloin of beef main course. We were then looked after by Jake. Nothing was too much trouble for Jake. We didn’t have to wait long for our jug of water and wine or for our starters, beer battered prawns and olives which were delicious. Our Sunday roast beef was “melt in the mouth” scrumptious and one of the best Sunday roasts that we have enjoyed in a long time. Our cheese and sticky toffee pudding desserts didn’t disappoint either. Thank you so much to Thomas and Jake for looking after us so well and making our lunch such a relaxed and enjoyable occasion and one that we now intend to repeat very soon.

Fabulous. We visited for a High Tea for my mums birthday. Absolutely blown away by the food quality and quantity. The staff could not have been better, warm friendly, welcoming and attentive. Fantastic little gem in Dartmouth that you absolutely must visit. The scones where amazing and you could tell they where home made and baked with love. They had an amazing selection of gluten free and home baked cakes

Having visited the restaurant for years, and enjoyed all of it. My partner did the books many years ago. We have stuck with it through all the many changes & styles of food offered. Unfortunately we went for Sunday Roast , last Sunday. The beef was sold out, my partner took the pork which was too fatty, I took the ham shank which looked like it had been boiled & was totally unacceptable to me. We complained quietly to an older waitress, who tried to help with a strange type of beef? We were told to complain to Charlotte ( restaurant manager) who went home early on Sunday, & would not be on duty until Wednesday? Having decided that was enough, we grudgingly paid, and left, never to return ever! we were treated badly!
