The best restaurants in England

2 yrs of amazing food so far ! I wrote my first review in 2022. So time for a refresh. I have continued to use Tim's place regularly for the works "breakfast run" and the food is consistently fabulous. Hot, tasty and clearly made and delivered by friendly and competent staff. Nowhere else has come close so here's to the next 2 years. ! Thanks Guys and Happy New Year !

Thank you for a lovely meal in a very friendly pub. Myself my husband son and his partner came last week at six. The waitress who served us couldn’t do enough for us a lovely friendly young lady. We came last year and my husband left his cap behind. We asked not expecting it to still be there. A friendly and helpful young man went looking and he found it! Thank you very much we will be back soon.

Ordered chicken and donner kebabs, veggie kebab and cheesy garlic bread. Can’t fault this place. Girl on till was pleasant and took our order. Food was lovely, lots of fresh salad and warm pittas. Would recommend 👍🏼😁

We went to Spalding on this lovely sunny morning to the market. The wonderful and very special Carillon was playing, ringing out across the market place and we popped into the Café on the Square inside the South Holland Centre for a coffee and a late breakfast. Well, nearly lunch! (Breakfast is served until 12 noon). We both had a breakfast brioche. Lincolnshire sausage patty layered with bacon and topped with a fried egg in a large and very delicious brioche bun. Probably not the sort of breakfast for every day (!) but super tasty for a treat - the food was lovely, the staff were so pleasant and helpful and the coffee was very good too. Thank you Courtney and Mike and Bailey. And it was very reasonably priced. You can sit in this 1st floor café and look out over the market place and people watch to your hearts content. Go on - treat yourself to good food, great coffee and a nice relaxing time in The Café on the Square.

I absolutely love cafe vegu. I have been a number of times and every dish I have tried has been delicious. Their menu is extensive and changes frequently. The hot dishes are generous portions and all super tasty, and the cakes are lovely too. Only downside is that it’s quite small so it can be hard to get a table however the wait is worth it! Staff are all really friendly and accommodating and service is fast.

This is a real gem of a cafe - it serves the best coffee for miles around! The care taken in the preparation of our drinks was impressive and the coffee was presented to us looking fabulous (and accompanied by a little biscuit). My partner had a latte and I had a cappuccino No matter how great some of the big brand coffee chains are, you really can't beat properly/respectfully made coffee. There were also an assortment of other beverages and tasty-looking sweet and savoury snacks available. Gorgeous surroundings and a very cute little thatched cafe building beautifully decorated.

Just come across this place on a long drive home and it just what we needed! Great food, value & staff! The cakes are absolutely delicious.

Don’t tell anyone! Ssssh!! Been here twice now and the full English breakfast is the best on the Wirral. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. A gem of a place!

We went here for a family wedding beggining of December. The venue is absolutly amazing something for everyone. The children had an amazing time playing all the machines. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Every little thing we asked for they sorted, all with a smile. So friendly and helpful even if some of us drove them mad. Absolutely top place top staff and skinny couldnt of helped any more. And brilliant with the children of all ages.

This was my first meal from Thai Kitchen, delivery was quick. My meal was a Bangkok bad boy with Thai fried rice, it was very tasty indeed and portion sizes were very generous. I will definitely use them again.

What a fantastic place!! So relaxing and very welcoming, no rush, stay as long as the mood takes you. The coffees are fabulous, served in delightful tin mugs!! There’s a huge range to choose from too. Paul the owner is lovely, he has gone to a lot of trouble to make this little coffee shop something really special, away from the norm. As others have said lots of board games, books, craft on sale etc, as well as themed mornings, such as the crime book club or the gin club in the evenings. There are also evenings designed to help with relaxation. This place is truly inspirational. You won’t find bacon butties or sausage rolls here, but you will find some home made cakes to tempt your taste buds!!

I go to the Norfolk Cheese Company shop almost every week for the most deluxe, delicious cheese in the whole world and the very friendly staff! Recently, they have turned a store room in the back into a cafe for people to eat things like toasties, with their amazing cheese, soups and more! I love everything about it!
