A gorgeous little traditional bakery with so many amazing products on offer. Visited to pick up some cakes for the office, you are absolutely spoiled for choice when it comes to sweet treats. I ordered a selection, opting for the Manchester tart cheesecake for myself, which was unreal! The staff were all really friendly and served everyone as quickly as possible, as it was incredibly busy. I can’t wait to go back again to try out some of the fresh bread and pies!

Moved here 4 years ago and found this little gem. It's a great home bakery, the bread is beautiful and the staff so, so pleasant. Its my favourite stop after my monthly hospital visit and in between. Keep up the good work. 👍

We went earlier to pick our weekly order and it wasn’t queuing out of the door for a change! The shop is however really small! Added ham and egg slice and a Cumberland sausage roll to our bread, buns and (outstanding) cornish pasty.

For the first 10 years of married life we lived next to this bakery. Grandmother used to treat the kids to cakes after school and we always went there for breads, pasties and cakes. Forward 23 years and we still visit despite living away and as a treat, surprise, my daughter bought me an afternoon tea, very popular these days, but have found they’re of varying quality and value. No idea what my daughter paid but what a lovely treat and reminder of happy days. Loads of sandwiches, quiche, pie and cakes, scones and jam. Worth reviewing as these places go under the radar and deserve recognition.

Tried a cappuccino to takeaway from the Clifton, beautiful ground coffee and fresh steamed milk. Great service and a nice big cup, best coffee I’ve had anywhere near the beach

This is normally one of my favourite curry houses in South Shields but last night was such a disappointment. The curries ordered were nice however we waited over 50 minutes for our main courses. Nobody updated us till the last minute. One server was lovely and let us know just before it came out. We had barely sat down and they wanted our drinks order, and didn't give us long to look at the menus before they were asking for our order. Which was annoying since the food took so long. I had to ask for water twice before it came as well. The manager seemed very odd and was just standing around watching and staring. The staff were all congregated around the bar and they kept looking over at our table and talking which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The general atmosphere was very strange and there wasn't the usual buzz that there is in the other shields curry houses.

Visiting Savannah and went for the wife. I waited in line for 30+ minutes only to be told to move all the way past the displayed flavors when I got to the front. I tried a sample of rum bisque and hated it, then could not see anything else because the people behind me were pushed up against the glass. I felt like a sheep. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience and not worth the hype.

Table booked for 7.30pm. Pub very messy, no carvery left. Told a 45 minute wait for food. Cued at bar, staff member very friendly and helpful. I asked if they had any chicken dinners left, she said not sure, I'll check. She asked another staff member who listed things not available (chicken not among them). So I ordered 2 dinners and 2 drinks. 15 minutes later staff member came over to say no chicken dinners so had to re-order. Staff member not really bothered when I complained. Still waiting for food, not impressed! Won't come again!
