Not a single worker was smiling! Who’s not happy to be in an ice cream shop?! The shop was adorable and the ice cream was delicious, but the lack of enthusiasm from the staff was really deflating.

The ice cream melts way too fast and was only okay. The service, on the other hand is really good.

It is a place that takes you back to 1900 and makes you imagine yourself as if you were there. They have a flavor that has not changed since 1919 and the taste is incredibly tasty. They speak Spanish and English.

For a small cup of ice cream it's $6 that is too damn expensive! The chocolate raspberry is awesome!!!

I got the February seasonal "dark chocolate raspberry" flavor, and it was quite possibly the best ice cream I've ever had. The raspberry flavor was exceptional, bright and sweet and a perfect contrast against the rich dark chocolate. Expertly made. The staff was beyond friendly, offering my family and I samples the moment we stepped up to the ordering counter. They conversed well, asking us questions and getting to know us as they efficiently took our order. I felt very welcome here. The store itself was cute and uniquely decorated with the vintage charm. I only wish we lived nearby so I could come here all the time!! Definitely make Leopold's a part of your travel plans- the higher prices are worth it.

It's my favorite ice cream ever. If you are in Savannah, this is a must. I even met Mr. Leopold once. My favorite flavor? PISTACHIO, but all of them are DELICIOUSLIS.

Their ice cream was delicious, but their waffle cone wasn’t worth the up charge. We tried their rum tutu fruiti, red velvet, Savannah socialite, and their chocolate cookies and cream. Their ice cream was so delicious and creamy that we came back twice. I just wish their waffle cones were larger and thicker. Oh and our dog loved his pup cup!

Loved it doesn't scratch the surface! It's a Savannah institution!! Hand churned ice cream!! The employees were outstanding!! All were smiling and looked like they were loving what they're doing! Ice cream was to die for too!! A must go to stop in Savannah!

I got mint chocolate chip in a chocolate fudge cookie sandwich. It is easily the best ice cream sandwich I've had 🫶. My mom got a chocolate chip ice cream cone and said that it was also very very good. She liked the cone part the best. She said it got better and better the more she ate. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area and feel like enjoying an ice cream.

Really cool ice cream shop. The movie posters date back years to the old-time films. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. I was kind of disappointed with the strawberry ice cream. It had such small pieces of strawberries, and it was very bland. Try it before you order.

We visited Savannah for the first time from Germany. We were told that we should not miss this ice cream. There was no line and we were immediately asked if we wanted some samples. Very friendly and welcoming staff, also beautiful interior that adds to the overall atmosphere! A great variety of flavors which we really appreciated. Got to try some fancy flavors such as „Rum Bisque“ and the…can recommend. You’ll get a good value for this price. Lovely little store!

A charming ice cream shop!! Founded in 1919, the quality of the ice cream justifies the necessary line that must be waited in to try the delights! The menu even explains the correct ordering system. Flavors, scoop size (double, single and child), cone and toppings! The place is charming, and its furniture should not be overshadowed by the display cases that display the delicious flavors available! Original furniture, well preserved and very tasteful! We tried the waffle cone (incredible!!!) with the vanilla and Savannah Socialite flavors with a pecan Ping topping 😍 speechless! Creamy, sweet enough, intense flavors. A flavor that leaves you wanting more!! When in Savannah, be sure to visit.

Owned by a Hollywood producer, lot of celebrities visit the place. Customer service was amazing, remember your dog gets a free cookie 😊

I’m not an ice-cream person, but this ice-cream was absolutely delicious. We tried coconut, pistachio, strawberry, frozen hot cocoa and chocolate mocha – all incredible! High quality. Perfect flavor. The atmosphere and service were great. Worth every bit of the hype!

Is great for visitors. Another spot to check for tourist but to wait in line, in the cold for “ice-cream” is a little silly.

Very good ice cream, but the small inside was full of several large dogs! Nothing indicated that any of these dogs were service animals. I believe this is a health code violation. Regardless, very unsanitary and gave me a poor impression of the place!

Visiting Savannah and came back twice. The ice cream was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful! The staff was helpful and kind. Asha and Javon were very generous, and thoughtful. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of :)

The lo-o-o-o-ong wait in line is part of the mystique of Leopold's, it seems. The system of serving customers is somewhat old-fangled and less efficient than it could have been. Overall, the ice cream was quite good. (I recommend the luscious lemon custard.) The servers were pleasant and patient, considering there was an unending onslaught of customers.

Beautiful ice cream shoppe. The staff was friendly and moved the line quickly without making you feel rushed. The cookie was stale but the ice cream was super creamy and delicious.

Overestimated because it is a historic place. The icecream is normal, nothing special. Cold stone and many others offer better ingredients in your icecream.

We knew nothing about the place until we went. Of course, there are lines and a wait. When we got up front, staff was friendly. They had some unique ice cream flavors, but nothing tasted any better than the fresh ice cream made two blocks away without a wait. The shop needed to decide if it was an ice cream shop or a place for the owner to show off movie memorabilia from his career. It definitely is not set up well for the crowds for average ice cream for the area. The company history can be enjoyed without wasting time and money there.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Some of the most delicious flavors of ice cream available in the town. Easy to get to and worth the wait. Always a line, because it's that good.

Ice cream is completely over hyped. Stand in line forever for sub par ice cream. But to top it off the service was worse. The owner Stratton Leopold and his son are both racist. Will never spend a dollar here again. Go to “the baked bear” instead. Way better selection and service.

We've had premium ice cream at a number of places in different cities. Some have very unique flavor combinations, other places are more traditional with their flavors. All I can tell you about Leopold's is they are right up there with the best of them. Their flavor combinations are not wild but they're delicious. Be prepared for a wait. If the line runs till the end of the block you'll be standing there for a good half hour or so until you can get in. Highly recommended. Worth the wait.

Cute shop and great ice cream! We ordered online for pickup for the regular flavors and then ordered in the line for a vegan ice cream option! It was delicious! Also-if online wont let you order the vegan options, they may still have them if you go in person. But ordered online to avoid waiting in the line otherwise!

The line was semi long Monday Dec 20th around 1:30 pm. What’s annoying is watching the server’s (or owner’s? ) bratty European family skip the line to get 2 more ice cream just because one of the kid was upset and didn’t want to share with his sibling. Like have some standard. I’ve waited an hour in nyc food line and watched the stall owner turn down their own people begging to cut the line and even offer money. You know you are popular, be decent.

This is the most overrated ice cream shop in Savannah. No need to wait in line for 45+ minutes for ice cream you can get anywhere.

The flavors are amazing, the service is delightful, the prices reasonable. The line can get ridiculous, so after waiting an hour it can seem a little silly... But it is a really great place and should be treasured 👍

A super picturesque and charming ice cream shop with beautiful decor, and most importantly, really delicious ice cream. The Peanut Butter and Banana flavors won my heart, and the cookies looked delicious too! It makes you want to try everything!

Fantastic! The fact thst they have been in business for over 100 years says it all. Always hit Leopolds when downtown in Savannah. If it's your first time just wait in the line it's worth it.

Leopold’s lives up to the hype. Worth the trip and the line. We’ve been there twice and agreed that this is one of the best ice cream shops in the country. FYI, the portions are huge. Love the tuttie fruity, butter pecan, eggnog and mint chip.

This place had a line outside the shop at night and in the middle of winter. The chocolate shake I got was amazing and the staff was happy to chat with me while I waited. Would go again 👍

This place has been here for a hundred years and uses the original recipes perfected when they were opened. Ice cream was delicious! And everybody was so friendly. It was like you were their favorite customer. They do If playing chocolate! I just had to ask. It wasn't displayed.

Leopold's has great ice cream, floats, sundaes, and more. It's very popular and has a fun atmosphere and great service. We especially loved the brownie sundae.

If you ever visit Savannah, GA, and are for some sweet treat, this is the place to stop by and try a few amazing flavors of ice cream offered. While waiting, glance at the walls and see the photos of many celebrities who stopped by at Leopold's in the past.

The ice cream is great but the customer service is even better. They helped us out and created two shakes out of 2 pints of the vegan peanut butter and vegan chocolate. Delicious! Great experience. We’ll be back when in town next time.

Must try. Best ice cream shop in Savannah. The lines are almost always long, be prepared to wait. I tried to come at night but there were sixty people in line. Came back the next day and it was more than worth it. Rich, creamy, delicious.

105-year-old shop, 2 balls of ice cream for US$7.50, with indoor seats and very comfortable. 🍋The lemon lemon flavor is delicious but has a thick texture, and other flavors are on the sweet side.

Really good ice cream. My wife loves ice cream and this place took the crown over her go-to, back in Houston. Definitely loved mine. I went with a two scoop of vanilla and mint chocolate chip. The Mrs went for coconut and caramel swirl. Both were amazing. The friendly staffer bringing everyone the water and talking to us was so cool too. He's definitely the life of the party there. Sweet young man. Nice work and thank you leopolds!!!😉

Just as good or even better than everyone says! We went on a cold Wednesday afternoon...no wait...but, the dining room was still full! Service was very quick and super friendly! You have to go if you visit Savannah...there is a reason it's so popular!

Long lines but it's worth to wait.

Loved the lemon and the banana flavours! You can sample a few flavours - some staff are very generous with their sample sizes. Kids size is plenty for one person!

Coffee chocolate chip is a must try!

We were told it was the one of the 10 best ice cream in the world. It's not. Absolutely not. The Lemon was atrocious and even the signature cookies ice cream or chocolate were frankly disappointing. Maybe it's a good ice cream for American standards, but even industrial ice cream sold in supermarkets are better. If you're European and used to even decent ice creams (and even more importantly if you've tasted Italian gelatos), don't go here.

We were surprised by how good the ice cream was, being from Wisconsin we have plenty of options high end ice cream and this is right there with them. This is definitely a destination in Savannah for anyone looking for a wonderful treat.

There is no comparison, There is so much butter in the ice cream I gained 5lbs just looking at it. Even Jenny Craig would not be able to resist pigging out!

The wait is not necessary (often seems done on purpose) the price is unreasonable (its just ice cream) $20 for 2 people 2 scoops each..we have Detweilers in Sarasota and the exact same ice cream costs $5 total🤷🏻‍♂️

I ordered the hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream, extra whipped topping and nuts. The ice cream had no flavor. I was really surprised because every time I visit Leopold's this is what I order and it has always been very tasty.

Line was big and waited about 20min. But was well worth the wait! The reviews about this place met expectations, not sure what it was but the ice cream just tasted different. Very good and tasted fresh. Highly recommended

A bit pricey but that’s to be expected for homemade and where it is. The ice cream was indeed delicious. Cool history. We had very mixed experiences with the staff. Javon (sp?) was extremely friendly and spoke to us multiple times asking how everything was. If a manager reads this I hope he gets a raise he truly seems like a rare gem of an employee. Behind the counter all were friendly except one guy seemed grumpy and not very friendly and guy checking us out was borderline rude with his grumpiness. But overall not a huge deal very cool spot and I would definitely go back. We were there Nov 22 at 2:25 pm.
