Cafe Savvies in Islington

Came here for brunch, following a night out in London. Service was exceptional, friendly waitress and food was amazing! Recommend highly!

Over the road from the SO Arch hotel (see reviews), this is a splendid bright, clean and airy cafe whith a great range of breakfast/lunch choices (including veggie). Nice surroundings (inside cafe!), good and friendly service and excellent value .

I have had the cooked breakfast here twice recently and both times it has been excellent. The sausages and bacon are particularly good and black pudding is available which is not always the case these days. There is a great number of options and the very helpful staff are willing to make changes to an option on top of that, so you definitely get the breakfast you want (also a rarity these days). Yesterday I had the grilled garlic chicken for lunch which was also excellent, with a lovely salad and good French fries (I asked for fries rather than rice) and it was only half the price of the equivalent meal in chain restaurants. The place is bright and clean, the service is usually quick and the staff are friendly, what more can one ask?

This was just what we were looking for, nice clean and modern interior tastefully decorated, and a traditional menu with cooked breakfasts and roasts. Coffee was perfect, they have great tastes in beans here and use an espresso machine rather than filter. Food was slightly pricier than a regular workers cafe but you get what you pay for here.

This used to be a workers cafe which I used to frequent with my work colleagues for lunch. Now, under its new owners it looks like a tottally different place altogether. The current owners have completely refurbished the place and "poshed" it up. It is clean and the toilets are brand new - very nice looking. The food is very good. My friend ordered a vegetarian breakfast and I had shepherds pie with roast potatoes and three vegetables - it all tasted very nice. The prices are reasonable. For the two of us with two teas and two coffees, it costed us £20.10. The servers were clean and tidy and provided us with an excellent friendly service. So, if you happen to be in Archway and you want a good cafe to have a meal, I recommend this place.
