. . . OK, me detendré ahora. Solo hazte un favor amigos, ve a ver a Niven. . . estarás realmente encantado y convertido a Nivenworld.

Trevlig personal. Nivens is fantastic. 5 mins from office I salivate whenever I walk past the window. Always a good selection of hot food with various salads to either take away or eat in. Getting space is a bit of pot luck but everyone makes room if possible. On this occasion a team lunch, chicken & chorizo pie was fantastic. Others equally happy with lasagne and pulled pork sub. The sweet chilli chicken is always good. Table water available.Staff fantastic, it is wonderful. Passionate about their food it stands out in a somewhat dreary world of ready made plastic meals.

A stone's throw from Kings Cross Station, with any luck you will chance on this gastronomic jewel that harks back to an age before the endless chains producing acceptable if bland fare invaded our streets. And yet the food here is wonderfully modern: no packets of pre-made sarnies, or cartons of drying sashimi here- you're more likely to find excellent tabbouleh, chicken with rose harissa, a home made sausage roll the size of a hedgehog and fresh, beautiful salads with generous ingredients like almonds and walnuts. Great big helpings too. You won't leave hungry and, better still, the prices are remarkably reasonable. This tiny little deli-cum-food store is a genuine marvel, and once you've stuffed your face with their mouthwatering grub, you wander away in a dazed state wondering how on earth they do it! Long may they reign and prosper. I was bowled over.

A hidden gem which stands out in a location where the rest of the cafes and food options are way below average. A small and cosy seating arrangement usually packed due to returning satisfied customers. Food is fresh and delicious , coffee is also great (they use square mile coffee beans). Highly recommended if you are in the area.

My mom and I ate breakfast here after looking on yelp to find a full English breakfast in the King's Cross area. Even from the reviews, we didn't know what to expect. From the outside, this little deli-type eatery looks like a hole-in-the-wall. It is easy to miss, especially considering the address numbering on the street is weird. The service was great. The £7.95 full English breakfast was fantastic! The eggs, sausage, bacon and mushrooms were as we expected, but the beans stole the show! They were SO good. We did not order any coffee or tea.We met some great women at the breakfast table and had some nice conversation. Loved the large breakfast table. Even though we were in a small little eating area, it felt homey. I would definitely eat here again if I am in the area.

Went for breakfast here and next time we're in London we will be back! Small little deli type shop that has a range of excellent quality cooked traditional items available at breakfast time - including incredibly meaty sausages, home cooked baked beans with chorizo in (!) as well as freshly cooked eggs, all served on a plate with fresh bread and spinach etc. I had a small plate which was actually pretty big, and brilliant value at around £5.95 I think. Quality of the ingredients really was superb. Only a tiny seating area at the back though!

I arrived too late at SO London the night before to book my breakfast box, so wandered over the road to Nivens at 06:55 and was welcomed in to an array of choice: an amazing cooked breakfast, pastries, croissants; I opted for the porridge and iced Danish. I didn't feel overly hungry because I was so nervous about the 6 hour presentation I was giving later that day but I knew I had to eat to get me through the day. This was easily the best porridge I've ever eaten - freshly made, piping hot with nuts and seeds mixed in, maybe some cream, topped with creme fraiche and fresh fruit salad, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds. No need to ask for the perfect cup of tea - a little pot was placed against the cup to put the teabag in. And whilst I ate at the old wooden table, I was able to look around at all the amazing produce for sale, and also pick from a vast shelf of books - Anthony Bourdain, Heston, Larousse Gastronomique, and the one I chose was JAKe's Mammoth Book of Street Art which has changed the way I looked at fire hydrants and brick walls. And whilst I was reading and eating, there was the delightful smell of basil as the mozzarella and tomato salad was being prepared. The music was eclectic and ideal for breakfast time. This was a visit that felt like breakfast a friend's where you trust it will all be okay and you don't have to be picky because it's all so good. It also reminded me, for its atmosphere and communal table, of Angelica's Kitchen on East 12th in NYC. Forget the purple sky at St Pancras - get yourselves 5 minutes down the road to Nivens and escape the mad corporateness of London for a while. The presentation went really well, thanks for asking.

Staying in the King's Cross area, and having looked askance at the buffet breakfast on offer at the hotel, I struck out to discover something better - and had one of the best Full English breakfasts I have ever eaten in my life at Nivens Fine Foods. Cooked to order and using the freshest ingredients, this was a sublime meal to be relished and enjoyed - and enjoy it I did, every-single mouthful of bacon, chorizo sausages, mushrooms, free-range double fried eggs (scrambled in that's your liking) black pudding, tomato, home-made baked-beans (cooked to Niven's secret recipe, but he'll tell you if you ask), all resting on a bed of spinach with a side order of toast and coffee. Honestly, if you want one of the best Full English breakfasts - or like to start the day with something lighter such as Rude Health Porridge or croissant or a fresh fruit salad, you should seek out Nivens - and do it quickly before the word gets out!

I now eat here regularly, and so thought it was about time I wrote a review. Niven's is a real gem in Londond - breakfast and lunch only, with more business from those taking food back to their desks or a nearby park than eating in. Every day the staff surprise you with something different and in season, with influences from all over the world and changing menu clearly inspired by the recent travels of its proprietor. If you are in Kins Cross or passing through, then arranging to grab some food here is a must - take it with you or sit at the communal table - its well worth it.

This was the best Full English breakfast we have had in long time. The bacon and sausages were very good, the Spanish black pudding was particularly delicious and it included home made baked beans (a real rarity). The cafe is within walking distance of Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston railway stations so is convenient for those just arrived into, or shortly departing from, the capital. Seating is provided at a single large dining table. The only criticism that we could make was in the brewing of the tea, they added the milk before removing the teabag. However given the quality of the food it was easy to overlook.

Fantastic neighbourhood deli and lunch-spot. Home-cooked, quality food, a proprietor who is clearly passionate about what he does and the quality of everything he serves, and an eclectic mix of food makes this a favourite. Nivens is a stone's throw from Kings Cross St Pancras, and I visited whilst waiting for the Eurostar to Paris. Well worth the walk from the station to avoid the draugthty chain restaurants. Nivens is really a deli- tiny with a communal table at the back of the shop. There's no standing on ceremony here- it was unclear if we had to serve ourselves or be served, and we were hardly greeted by the owner and his surly assistant. However Mr Niven is a guy who lets the food do the talking, and talk it certainly does. We ordered scrambled eggs but got fried, and had to wait for the bacon to be cooked but it could not have mattered less. The plate was piled high with gorgeous produce- morcila (black pudding), chorizo, homemade spicy baked beans, delicious!! The coffee was of an extremely high quality and the choice of preserves was ample-Nutella, Marmite and peanut butter are three of my favourites. Topped off the huge breakfast with another round of crusty bread and butter and a second cup of tea. I will definitely be returning-a real find!!!

On our way to an early kick off at Arsenal (stadium is very close). We normally have breakfast at the Wetherspoons, but for some inexplicable reason it was closed (on a match day morning?!). Am quite glad it was as we spotted this place just down the road, so gave it a try. Excellent full English breakfast, fresh cooked, tasty, chunky bread toast, good coffee. And a similar price to Wetherspoons, apart from no unlimited coffee refills, with lots of other choices. The lunch etc menu looked good and plentiful too. All served quickly and by friendly staff. Wetherspoons - I think you've lost our business on match days!
