We have visited Scilly for a number of years and sad to observe some restaurants trading on a view the Turks Head however really cares about customers. Wonderful homemade food, do try the mackerel pate, great beers in such a fantastic location. Worth spending a few quid on a short boat ride to get top quality service and food.

THE VIEW WAS WONDERFUL AS WAS THE BEER. THE BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WERE THE EXPENSIVE CRAB ROLLS. IT WAS GOING TO BE A HOLIDAY TREAT I THOUGHT. WELL THERE WAS SO MUCH OTHER STUFF MIXED IN WITH THE CRAB THAT YOU COULD HARDLY TASTE IT. I DO KNOW THAT CRAB MEAT HAS RISEN IN PRICE BUT THESE WERE NOT WORTHY OF WHAT THEY CHARGED.

Great little pub tucked away on St Agnes just a stone's throw from the slipway where the boats come in. The food is good and reasonably priced and there's a supper boat that comes over from St Mary's several nights a week in summer. Revisited the Turks Head this summer (2022) and the experience was better than ever. Having come over on the supper boat from St Mary's with quite a few others there was a short wait to order at the bar but the staff soon got through the queue and the food came quickly. We sat at one of the many outside tables and found the food to be excellent - going far beyond the standard of fare that could be expected at a pub on a small island so far off the beaten track. Credit is due to all at the Turks Head for getting things back to their normal high standard of service and quality after the pandemic. Well done guys and thanks for a great evening ! Returned to the Turk's Head again in 2024 - menu more condensed than previous but just as good. We had the Cumberland Sausage with mash, wilted greens and gravy plus the fish pie. Both were excellent. Credit is due to the owners for offering great food and service in such a remote (and beautiful) location.

Disappointing all round. Menu is very basic, chips with everything and wildly erratic pricing. Crab sandwich - 17.50, Soup looked the best value at £10. Mackerel pate £10 was huge scoop, with not enough crostini to balance the plate. Ploughman's £17.50 was four huge slices of bread, tiny teaspoon of piccalilli, hunk of cheddar, quarter of a pork pie, single slice of ham, one cherry tomato with cucumber and some lettuce leaves masquerading as a dressed side salad in a small pot. I know everything has to be shipped in to this small island, but it felt lacklustre. Service was OK, but really slow for food that doesn't need much prepping. Maybe the dinner options are more imaginative, but lunch was a disappointing and expensive experience.

The menu choices for all three of us were not available by the time we ordered (1pm) on the day of our visit. Cheese ploughman’s consisted of a lot of bread and cheese and a tiny amount of piccalilli and salad. Too much mackerel pate in comparison to the small crisp toasts it was served with. Sticky toffee pudding was fabulous and we enjoyed the flirty fries. Idyllic location and potential to be excellent but disappointing visit overall.

if I could give it a lower rating I would, I never review places negatively but feel I need to warn people here. There’s very few vegetarian/vegan option (don’t even have non-dairy milks), the people who seemed to own the pub were so unfriendly and rude to the other customers around us and on top of all of this it’s insanely priced for tiny portions! We had seen the pub on line and booked a table when we did a boat trip from St Mary's. the pub is an old style building with loads of character. our table was inside and quite close to the bar. the staff were extremely friendly and showed us to our table upon arrival. You order your food and drinks from the bar and set up a tab. The food was amazing, both my wife and I agreed it was probably the tastiest lamb we had ever tasted. The local beer, made by St Austell's brewery was also very good. An excellent experience and should we return to the Scilly Isles will definitely go back. Thank you for your hospitality.

6pm boat from St Marys, we were a group of 15, and had pre booked a table. Extremely busy on arrival, long queue for food and drink. We were told where our table was, but then we found out that we had to queue up for both drinks and food, this took a while as there was only 2 people behind the bar, so we asked the owner if we could write our order down and pass it to him, and pay after our meal, he agreed to this, which meant that we didn't have to wait in the queue, and our food all came out together. The food was very good, especially the fish pie and chocolate brownies. Perhaps if taking a booking fir a large table, a menu could be emailed, and then returned with everyone's selection, to help cut the time down. Just enough time to get the boat back to St Marys.

Very disappointing having known this pub in the past. Idyllic situation above the harbour and friendly waiting staff. BUT after an extremely expensive, Crab (delicious but very small roll) £15 each; (we live in Cornwall so know about the going rate!) and a Beer over £5/ pint. I asked for some drinking water for my dog as he had finished what I had brought with me. A curt reply from whom I was told was the owner said that was not possible and to go to the Public Conveniences nearby. He insisted when I asked that this would be drinking water. However there was a large notice there on the wall stating "This water is UNSUITABLE for drinking". Fortunately the ferry shortly arrived and we were soon back at our hotel on St Marys where the staff immediatley produced a large bowl of fresh cold water much to our dogs delight!

An excellent oasis away from the general riff-raff that is Penzance. The menu is pricey, but worth it. Lovely cosy and intimate ambience, and the Romanian girl from Spain is utterly charming in her own staid and sassy way. The other staff are wonderfully bubbly and exuberant and know what they’re doing. Food-wise, I’d recommend the tiger prawns, as they are delightfully chewy and fresh and served piping-hot off a master skillet. I wouldn’t order a vegetarian dish, since chefs these days don’t like cooking vegetarian entrées. So a turf or surf dish would be an ideal choice. The cuisine is casual-gourmet with a nouveau inspiration, though the portions are more generous here than what you’d get at a nouveau venue. One to return to time and time again!

Second visit to this attractive cafe that sits behind one of the main carparks on/near the towans. We chatted outside as they got ready to open and then found a comfy seat inside with a great view. Ordering was easy, the menu is small but has something for everyone and they also cooked us a dish not on the menu which I always find is the mark of hospitality and good customer service. Food was fresh, hot and the St Ewe eggs were delicious!
