We stopped off for lunch. Crab was on the agenda. Nothing else would do! We weren't disappointed crab bap and dirty chips (white & brown crab meat with fries and cheese) very filling very rich... Reasonable price with lemonade & elderflower soft drinks. Great view whilst eating our lunch at the bottom of the beer garden.

Arrived very late in the afternoon in the hope of a cream tea. Just about closing time but our wish came true. Outstanding it was! Probably the best cream tea I’ve ever had. Light and fluffy scone still warm with lashings of clotted cream and a cute, individual jar of strawberry jam. Milk in a little bottle for the tea and the tea was amazing too . Have waited 19 years for a cream tea having lived away and this was everything I could have ever wished for. Thank you Rock Pool Cafe. Would highly recommend! Not easy to find so do persist ♥️

The Rock Café offers a relaxed dining experience with hearty, well-prepared food. I had the open prawn sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful, with succulent prawns and a light, zesty dressing that really enhanced the dish. My son enjoyed a traditional Cornish pasty, which was warm, flaky, and filled with a delicious mix of tender meat and vegetables. The service was friendly, and the portions were generous, making it a satisfying stop for a casual meal. Definitely worth a visit for simple, well-executed fare.

Walked across from Penzance to Mousehole and this cafe is nicely placed at the end of the walk. Can't say I've ever had a scone that fell apart when I tried to spread my cream on it. It was more like a cake.... 3/10 for the consistency of the scone but 10/10 for taste and presentation on everything. Will be back again next year! 12 months on and I can say that the scone has improved dramatically in consistency. So light and fluffy and held together well. 10/10 this time round.

Came here with a friend today, having not found anywhere nice in Penzance. I'm so glad we did as this place is a little gem. Lovely selection of cakes, of which I had the carrot and walnut. Can’t think why they called it Rock Pool Cafe! Except sitting outside you have glorious views of Mounts Bay with a charming rock pool to foreground. Watch the seals, fishing boats, shags and sailing boats go by whilst having quality drinks at reasonable prices. We didn’t eat but overheard favourable comments. The place has a chilled feel to it with charming staff. Good space inside if the weather is damp (it is in Cornwall after all). Try it yourself.

Have been coming here for years, for the cream tea with a view and was willing to pay £8 for 1 scone with clotted cream and the nice view. However this year we came and it's obviously new owners as we had toasted sandwiches with no butter on bread so very dry and a cream tea. SO DISAPPOINTED!! paid £8 again for the cream tea with dreadful cream that certainly wasn't clotted cream. It was like whipped butter with vanilla flavouring and melted instantly into oily butter on the scone. WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE COMING HERE AGAIN SO you've lost good customers and I'm sure will lose many more. Also hardly any tables inside if bad weather. There used to be lots more. Also no good cocktail menu any more. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

We have been visiting the Rock Pool for years and it was, until this year, a charming, pretty little cafe with excellent food and hot chocolate on offer. Unfortunately it has lost all of this on changing hands. We hadn't realised it had changed hands until we arrived and wondered why it was so quiet and then, once the food arrived, understanding why it was quiet but wondering why the quality of everything had gone so downhill. The quaint decor inside has been torn out and is now quite soulless. The sandwiches were very lacklustre and the scone was not a scone, it was a crumbly cake which managed to be both too squishy and dry at the same time. They no longer do the artisan hot chocolate. There was also a huge wasp problem, which has never been the case in previous years! Very little here to tempt me back, which is a shame as it used to be a real treat we looked forward to.

Our olde Cornish granite cottage architecture is just a cut above the rest!! 😊🙏 Parking on entrance to Mousehole, public facilities, many cafes, ice cream parlours, bistros, restaurants, and a super olde pub (great food) called the Ship in.. amongst other eateries etc. Enjoy 😉 🙏✨

Have been visiting here for years (since it opened as Rockpool) and visited this summer with the new owners. I found it just a bit 'meh' now. It's lost its charm and warmth. Wasn't particularly welcoming service, although it was quick but that may have been because there was only a few folk in. Inside is quite sparsely decorated in a minimalist vibe, feeling a bit cold and boring. Cream tea was fine, but didn't enjoy drinking my tea out of a plastic beaker and tea was a bit wishy-washy; much preferred when it was mismatched china crockery. Might be back in the future, if only for the lovely outdoor area and spectacular view.

We have been visiting Rock pool cafe for a few years whenever in the mousehole locality and were looking forward to returning this year. We were saddened to see they have replaced the traditional ambience with a clinical basic questionable modern vibe. The welcoming atmosphere and greetings we were accustomed to, have been replaced by noone making an effort to greet customers. The varied menu of local produce has been replaced by a clipboard menu with limited options. The crab sandwiches using local fresh sliced bread has been replaced by standard sliced bread. China Cups or mugs have been replaced by plastic beakers! My advice would be to stick to the deli for freshly cut bread and quality food and beverages. Sadly we won't be returning to the rock pool cafe again.

Food Poisoning - I bought a crab sandwich from the café in December which made me violently sick all day and night. I called the owner to ask for compensation as myself & my partner paid a lot of money to stay in Mousehole and were only there for 3 days. Based on previous discussions with staff, we thought the owner would be sympathetic, but she was the complete opposite. Very rude from the off set and didn't comply. So all in all, a whole day of my holiday was ruined and the owner of the restaurant doesn't seem to want to put things right, so my best advice would be to stay away from this café if you want to enjoy your time in Mousehole.

Not great and certainly not dog friendly. Unfortunately can’t comment on the food but the first experience of this potential customer was not great. Popped in to ask if dogs were allowed inside as we had 3 well behaved canine companions with us but no seats available outside. The person I asked at the counter looked around the fairly empty inside seating area and stared to explain that they do allow well behaved dogs in but unfortunately she was rudely interrupted by a curt youth operating the coffee frother who just abruptly said “No” without even the remotest of courtesy. So I thanked the polite one an made a note to write this review to let all dog owners know that this place seems to be dead set against dogs and, to a certain degree, staffed by ignorant youths who don’t have an ounce of manners or, if they do, can’t seem to activate them accordingly. My advice is to avoid at all costs and instead take yourself somewhere with a better vibe that actually deserves your hard earned money. To be fair the entire village of Mousehole seems a largely anti dog with lots of aggressive signage all over the place. We took our dogs for a walk on the east beach out of season (when dogs are permitted) and overheard several mis-informed Karen’s chuntering about this. Not a great impression all round.

This is only my opinion Sunday roast with Brie starter. Starter was fabulous really good with the chilli . 4/5 Would have been lovely with some caramelised onion that would’ve made it a 5 out of 5 . The roast dinner looked great, good size portions and very nicely presented. Beef but texture was fibrous. It almost appeared to be tiny squares of meat strung together with sinue. I think this was “fake meat” made by bits stuck together and appeared to be netted with tiny squares of meat 🤢🤢 and it was cut to thickly. Cauliflower cheese was undercooked and lacked flavour could’ve done with some mustard and some cheese, roast potatoes were okay it would’ve been nice if they had been fluffed up even with a little bit of flour before adding to the hot oil. This means it would’ve been crispy rather than chewy and sharp edged. White pepper would’ve been nice on the table to have with some of the vegetables, The dinner lacked flavour/seasoning 2/5 staff were very nice very friendly and atmosphere was lovely.
