The Waterside in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This is only my opinion Sunday roast with Brie starter. Starter was fabulous really good with the chilli . 4/5 Would have been lovely with some caramelised onion that would’ve made it a 5 out of 5 . The roast dinner looked great, good size portions and very nicely presented. Beef but texture was fibrous. It almost appeared to be tiny squares of meat strung together with sinue. I think this was “fake meat” made by bits stuck together and appeared to be netted with tiny squares of meat 🤢🤢 and it was cut to thickly. Cauliflower cheese was undercooked and lacked flavour could’ve done with some mustard and some cheese, roast potatoes were okay it would’ve been nice if they had been fluffed up even with a little bit of flour before adding to the hot oil. This means it would’ve been crispy rather than chewy and sharp edged. White pepper would’ve been nice on the table to have with some of the vegetables, The dinner lacked flavour/seasoning 2/5 staff were very nice very friendly and atmosphere was lovely.

Staff are rude and parking is very limited - a very unhelpful chef that stood and watched us park for 5 minutes before telling us we couldn’t park in those spots. Travel by taxi or boat where possible!

Excellent food and service at this great waterside venue. Have had breakfasts, lunches & dinners here and all have been of good quality. The staff are lovely and very good at their job. It is dog friendly inside as well as out. We've also just stopped by for a drink whilst waiting for the Flushing Ferry. Excellent all round

Catching up with friends from the village, great location & staff, 2 of our party ask for the sole to have the bones removed, answer from the chef, sorry no time even though the restaurant was less than half full, will not be revisiting anytime soon 🙈

Great and really fresh Sole. Pricey but everything in Falmouth seems to be.

It's very sad that they don't serve breakfast in the summer; it's certainly a good restaurant and we've eaten there in the evenings (and it's much better and cheaper than Harbour House), but the breakfast in the morning was the very best! It would be very, very desirable if breakfast were available again soon!

The food is fantastic and the service is even better. We have been here several times before and we will definitely come back again. Great place.

We just drank a coffee outside. Didn't look like we wanted to eat there. Old fashioned and wrecked inside. And it was going to close soon, anyway. Heard, it has been a good fish restaurant in the past. Not sure if this is still true.

Just had one of the best breakfast at the waterside, we were served by the owner Tom and we were greeted with a nice warm welcome and was sat down inside with a nice view. Everything was nice and clean and the food cannot very quickly, the service was immaculate and staff was friendly. Would really recommend!!

Discovered this gem of a place completely by chance when going to look at a boat . Lovely views across to Falmouth and the estuary. Had our two Great Danes with us and were given a warm friendly welcome . Food was excellent as was the service . Lovely setting right on quay side will definitely return .

Truth be told, this is one of those gem of a restaurants which you’ll think about for many years to come and always rave about.. It really is, quite possibly, the best restaurant for food, flavour and quintessential ambience, that I have ever visited.

This is a 5 star dining experience for me. I will definitely be eating here again

This restaurant is an absolute gem, best dining in and around Flushing. The food is amazing, seasonally fresh and locally sourced. If you don't have room for dessert, you must takeaway (you won't regret it!) The staff are just gorgeous and can't do enough for you. Wonderful atmosphere for every occasion from family gatherings, romantic meals and impromptu get togethers. Extremely recommended.

Best roast I've had in years, I had the veggie option, Helford blue and lentil, totally delicious.

Phoned late on Saturday night for booking Sunday lunch they were so helpful. Then on Sunday had a fantastic Sunday roast everything was really well cooked and presentation was good. Staff which I think is family are super friendly.. thank you for a lovely experience.

Such a lovely welcome, fabulous service plus the most amazing food. We had the hake which came with brussel sprouts which were the best we’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back 😊

Has to be one of the best pubs in the south west. Beer selection is excellent, both keg and draft. Drinks menu is extensive with a few options for any spirit you're interested in. Peated scotch is Lagavulin rather than the pub standard Laphroaig, they've Fettercairn, Mcneen and others, definitely above average dram selection. There's a range of tequilas and mezcal, vodkas etc etc. The staff were lovely, ambiance is great, music is spot on volume wise, loud enough to listen to but not so loud that having a conversation is a challenge. Great tunes as well. Only tried the bar menu this evening, but that was epic: Beef Scrumpet is ace, the roast potatoes are insane, the crisps with taramasalata were freshly made and still warm. The butter that comes with the bread 🤤 And there's a fire at each end of the bar. What an awesome bar!

Been previously for Sunday roast and was fantastic but had breakfast there Saturday morning after recommending to friends I was with and sadly completely different experience, staff seemed not bothered with us and unhappy, food not good as previous visit, real shame won’t be returning.

Walked from Mylor to flushing in the rain and went for a roast at The Waterside, absolutely amazing, large portion, great quality and tasty food. Room cosy and staff very polite and accommodating. Highly recommend. They were also doing roast as a take away aswell.

Nice cake and coffee with friendly service. Wheelchair friendly but small and tight inside, pick a warm sunny day and sit outside 🙂. As usual with Cornish villages parking and vehicle access is 'interesting'.

Lovely evening, eating outside watching the sun go down over the river! We both had fresh lobster cooked in garlic, with hedgerow salad and chips, just delicious! Then couldn’t resist the homemade caramel, spiced rum tart with clotted cream to finish, just yummy! Well cooked, generous portions with a friendly, unobtrusive service. Very good value for money, really would recommend!

This fish restaurant is at a dream location with views overlooking Falmouth Harbour and situated in the beautiful, somewhat idyllic village of Flushing. We arrived at lunchtime, midweek on an absolutely beautiful day and we had no trouble parking or getting a table, inside or out. The menu was a little limited but I could have happily had any of the options on the menu. My wife and I both went for the monkfish fish and chips at £22, served with tartar sauce and salad leaves. The portions were generous and mine was absolutely delicious. There was an slight issue with my wife's, and another diner's, over their fish being slightly over cooked but this was satisfactorily dealt with by the very professional and efficient staff and everybody was happy. I took at look at dishes served to other diners and they looked fabulous too. Would we go there again? Absolutely and probably for their Sunday lunch.

We visited as a small group of family members and sat out on the benches. The area was busy due to the Tallship in Falmouth. Food and service were good. It was great that they have the benches that can't be booked, just operate as a first come first served basis. Would and will revisit!

We called in for an early supper. Food was great, a simple limited menu but everything sounded so good spoilt for choice. Had hake which was perfectly cooked and served on bed of seared veg sublime. It is a lovely place sitting on a pier with the Fal either side. Friendly service not hurried and relaxed. We both came out and said wow that is quite special.

Just had a meal at the Waterside, would reccomend it to anyone. First class

Flavourless, over cooked and very expensive garlic bread. Very mean with the garlic butter.

Well what a fabulous dinner in a gorgeous harbour-side setting. Fresh sea food and a cracking wine list with decent service all evening. Very pleased with booking here (a return visit) as they helped us to celebrate an important family birthday and get together. Really highly recommended, especially for the catch of the day, cooked simply and beautifully!

Cosy little restaurant right on the dock. Good atmosphere and efficient staff, only wish the menu was a little more varied as struggled to find dishes to suit our taste.

Our family of 4 visited for Sunday lunch, and were really impressed with the hospitality and quality of the food. Both the meat and vegetables were top quality, and beautifully cooked. I would recommend anyone who is visiting the area to give the waterside a try.

Lovely food and great service. Atmosphere also gets a huge tick from us. We had soup, mussels, turkey and beef. All had fantastic flavours and didn’t leave a crumb.

Fantastic dinner at the Waterside. One of the best meals we've had in England. We loved the local produce and delicately handmade dishes, which were beautifully delicious! Service was quick and we had a wonderful waitress too. Couldn't fault it really! Will go again in the future.

Without doubt the best food in the Falmouth area. The staff are lovely, the view is amazing, awesome vibe, couldn't be better.

This place is fantastic, accommodating, super friendly, welcoming, totally recommend the breakfast menu, the banana porridge was the best thing I have tasted for ages, the prices are so reasonable for the quality of the food and portion sizes. Well worth a visit and you can take your dog too, will be making this my choice for breakfast or lunch on our weekend walks in this beautiful area

A lovely Sunday lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. The beef was excellent, and with very tasty gravy, lots of veg; the staff are welcoming and enthusiastic; fantastic location…perfect.

Cosy and warm restaurant on the harbour with a decent amount of parking as well. Accommodating and friendly staff who went above and beyond. Could not fault the food- all the food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The portion sizes were perfect and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!

A real little gem of a place, with views to die for, the food is wonderful especially the fish dishes which is freshly caught, the staff are attentive and friendly and you can eat in or out,outside was preferred by myself, also found out they are dog friendly, which if I had know before I would have taken my dog, the ferry service to Falmouth is frequent, sitting at a table I was literally 15 feet from it, a must for travelers or food lovers,somewhere i would visit again .

Very difficult to drive through and park in the town (not the restaurants fault of course and I feel for the locals there, must be a nightmare!). We had high hopes for this place, having been looking for good seafood for a while. Unfortunately we were not impressed - portions were small, fairly uninteresting and expensive for what you were getting.

We went over to Place from Falmouth on the ferry..this is the first place you meet when you get off..we only stopped for a drink..but from what we saw the food looked very nice.. lovely polite staff and a lovely spot for a drink!.. highly recommend!

We went there for breakfast and the food was delicious! Had a full vegetarian and the French toast. The cappuccino was mostly milk, but the service was spot on. I wish we could’ve stayed for lunch too because that menu looked incredible. It looks like they switch up the lunch and dinner menus frequently, as “sample menus” were posted out front.

Went in for an evening meal last night and had the most amazing seafood I have ever eaten! The muscles and the lemon sole stole the show in a big way they were superb. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

A lovely Waterside (as the name implies) restaurant. Quite small and full of character. Friendly helpful staff, and a lovely menu with just enough choice. The food is freshly prepared and superb. If you fancy a change, then definitely try this little nugget set in the heart of Flushing.

Sitting on a wharf in the Harbour of Falmouth in the village of flushing. Watching the boats from the window whilst eating one of the best Sunday lunches (and definately the biggest) I have had in 10 years. What else do you need?

Went to our local restaurant, the Waterside, for Sunday lunch and once again weren't disappointed. Just a good roast, generous portions and lovely service from Maisey.

Lovely spot. Didn't eat there but was great find to have a drink. Short stay car park that was cheap. Can get a ferry across to Falmouth from there.
