This cafe is overpriced and the staff are miserable. I asked for a cream tea which costs £8.50 at 3.50pm. The lady told me it would have to be takeaway and we had to be off the premises at 4pm prompt. As I spent £22.50 in there, I thought the lady's attitude and mannerism stank. As we left at 4pm, the staff were still serving other customers. Would not recommend Stay away!!! Will not return.

We stopped by twice today as we walked the coastal path, firstly for an ice cream, then for cream tea - it was so good, we just had to go back. This cafe is in a fabulous location, and well run by a husband and wife team. With indoor (beach huts) and outdoor seating, with stunning views over the beach. It's clean, well run, and the cream tea (with Rhoddas of course) was to die for. If you're in the area, it's a must do!

This is right on the coastal footpath and the weather was fantastic so it was glorious sitting outside overlooking the small beach. We visited this on the way from Looe to Polperro for brunch then enjoyed it so much we called in on the way back for cake - we deserved it given how far we had walked so it was entirely guilt free. Brunch was a hummus ciabatta roll - all very fresh and tasty. On our return we had scones and clotted cream. They were fabulous and really light with a good portion of clotted cream. They were also huge so I would suggest you would find that two that come as part of the cream tea would be too much for one person but are perfect for two!

What a beautiful spot. A great place to refresh on the SW Coast Path between Looe & Polperro. We also drove down (narrow winding lanes) this morning for a return visit. I would happily have a few hours or even the full day in this beautiful bay on a sunny day. Only issue to be aware of for the cafe is that the toilets are portaloos in the car park.

The Beach Cafe was just what we hoped it would be, served good coffee and a good selection of great cakes, (most of the 7 of us went for large buttered tea cakes) and an amazing view. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Plenty of spaces to sit outside and a few beach huts converted into places to eat. Suspect when the weather is less kind places inside to eat and admire the view.

All very attractive. I had a cuppa and a tasty bake and had a Shirley Valentine moment sitting by the shore watching the waves. Blissful, lovely little cove. Car park with portaloos just by the side. £6.80 all day parking. Machine takes cash or card.

Lovely spot. It’s right on the beach and is just what we needed! It was a bit cloudy and cool so we used one of the beach huts to sit in. I was able to feed the baby out of the wind and we could still enjoy a view of the beach. I don’t believe there was seating indoors but there is a great selection of ice cream, food and drinks. There is also beach gear available to purchase if needed!

Perfect Coastal Pitstop: Talland Bay Café While walking the stunning coastal path from Polperro to Looe, we came across the Talland Bay Café—a gem of a spot nestled by the beach. Although we only stopped for drinks, it was clear this café is perfectly set up to handle the steady stream of beachgoers and walkers alike. The efficient system in place meant even with a queue, service was smooth and quick, allowing us to enjoy our break without any hassle. What really makes this café stand out is the incredible view. Overlooking the beautiful bay, it’s the perfect place to sit back, sip a drink, and take in the picturesque surroundings. The staff, too, were friendly and welcoming. We were intending to visit Polperro but reading the negative reviews on Google about the extortionate car parking cost there, we decided to park at Talland Bay and walk there instead. I'm so pleased we did otherwise we would not have come across this gem of a beach and cafe. Plus the full day parking fee was less than Polperro, a much nicer setting and the best beach shop we've seen in a long time. The staff were so friendly and the quality of the food and drink was very good. Beautiful landscaping outside made it feel very different from the usual beach side cafe. We were very impressed and it was a relaxed 30 min walk into Polperro. I'd definitely suggest parking here and eating at this great cafe.

Friendly staff, amazing views, great stop when walking from Looe to Polperro . We returned today and parked the car to the lane leading to the bay which is free, there is a carpark too (if need be) , local fees apply. Best fluffy warm scones (x2) with cream and jam, for £8.50 but only came with one mug of tea which I thought was odd, as enough to eat for two but only one drink 🤔 Our tray was cleared away promptly and the lady was very friendly and polite. A clean beach and litter pickers were available which kids seemed to enjoy using on the beach! Dogs were welcome and on the beach too. Wet suits, aqua shoes, bucket and spades all for sale too! Would definitely return! I can imagine it’s a heat trap in the summer as today was very warm with quite a few people in the sea but not crowded. A beautiful bay and definitely worth a visit 🏖️☀️🩳🩱🐚🏝️

We visited here for a lunch stop today on our way back home with our two young children. We went inside to order and found there was little inside seating - just some high stools at the windows which the children wouldn't have been able to sit at very easily. This wasn't a problem at all - we decided to sit in one of the 3 little beach huts outside which the children liked the look of. The lady who took our order was polite and friendly, and asked where we would be sitting. We told her in one of the huts and she said this was fine. We went out to the huts and as it had been raining, the seats and table were wet - again, not a problem, we quickly dried them off with some tissue. Our food was brought out quickly by the nice lady who took the order and was nice. It then got windy and started raining again, so we started getting wet as the doors to the hut were open. The nice lady came out and was apologetic that we were getting wet, gave us some tissue and tried to close the doors. We told her it was fine, not to worry, we didn't mind a bit of wind and rain. She closed the doors and left, but they blew open in the wind minutes later. My husband closed them again, but as there is no way to secure them from the inside, they blew open in the wind again. A blonde woman came out and was very arsey with us, saying 'you need to keep these doors closed! It's damaging the building!' I told her it was not deliberate, we were trying to keep them closed but they were blowing open in the wind. She replied 'well it's too windy to be out here! It's damaging the building!' I didn't appreciate being spoken to like that when it wasn't our fault the doors kept blowing open. It was not that windy or rainy when we arrived. Why not close the huts on wet days or tell customers that they cannot sit there? Why not provide some kind of catch for closing the doors on the inside for instances when the weather becomes bad and the doors need to be closed but customers are already inside? Why not come out and politely ask us to relocate inside due to the turn in the weather? At this point we left - one of the children hadn't finished eating but we got the remainder of her panini put in a bag to take out. Overall - nice location, lots of (pay and display) parking, nice food, just a shame about the one rude member of staff (again, the lady who took our order was welcoming and friendly).

We walk Looe to Polperro most years when in Cornwall. However this was our first visit to Talland Bay Cafe as the other cafe was closed. We took tea, cake and cold drinks towards the end of the day and everything was perfectly good. Cake sizes were great, the price was if not cheap, no more than you'd expect and certainly not OTT. If I could be picky I'd say the Tea wasn't prepared with the same love as coffee and it perhaps felt a bit canteeny at the counter. The man behind the counter and clearing tables in particular was great. The tables in huts are as welcome in the high sun as they are on the blustery days. Toilets are portaloos funded by the cafe, albeit perhaps spoiled by some grumpy notices about the council not refurbishing the public loos. Presumably so the cafe can get free loos.

Didn't even get drinks as I couldn't afford to. They also charged me an extra 50p for red onion for some reason because I swapped my chutney from apple cider to red onion....wasn't aware there was a charge I just expressed I was not keen on apple and they said they had red onion chutney instead.
