The Hawthorn in Bradford

The food was over priced and over hyped and over rated. The meat was mediocre quality and everything was appallingly underseasoned and tasteless. Tbf the chef did cook meat perfectly to requirements re rare/medium etc and the veg was perfectly Al dente. The lavender gin cocktail was out of this world and the surroundings were beautiful and the staff were great. However, I would never eat here again as it's vastly over priced and wholly underwhelming. Also, the chips were so uniform and I suspect they were frozen chips. I don't come out to eat and pay such prices for frozen chips

Firstly I'd like say the staff were all extremely friendly and attentive, the food however was extremely lack lustre extremely bland and very under seasoned, the pesto didn't have any flavour at all as with alioli, the lamb was flavourless and at £30 I'd expect it taste of something the entire meal for two cost over £100 and it wasn't worth it in my honest opinion extremely disappointing

A very friendly and efficient restaurant with impeccable service. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. The restaurant is well-managed and runs smoothly. My Sirloin steak, though slightly on the smaller side ( Good margin control! 🤷) , was perfectly cooked, and nicely aged with the carrots being absolutely lovely. Highly recommend this place for both the great food and excellent service! Also gluten free friendly.

Well, what can I say ! What an absolute gem of a place ! ✨️ No wonder you have to book in advance. The food here is the best I have ever had. We went for Sunday lunch, and I can honestly say it the best Sunday dinner I have ever had dining out. The roast beef was so tasty and cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes were so crispy and fluffy on the inside, all seasonal vegetables were also very tasty, and the separate little skillet pan of cauliflower cheese was to die for ! All in all, a beautifully presented and very tasty Sunday lunch, the best I have ever tasted. I didn't sample a pudding as I couldn't fit anything else in ! But if the puddings are anything like the Sundays roasts they will be amazing too. The waiting list to dine here is long, but that is a testimont to the excellent quality of their food. The only gripe I have is the wobbly tables ! 😊 They need screwing tighter underneath. All in all, it's a fantastic place, brilliant service, great price and the food, yes you've guessed is to die for ! Cannot wait to return. ❤️

We visited because it was voted the #1 Sunday dinner and it did not disappoint. Booked the private dinning room for 9 people and had an exceptional Sunday lunch. The gravy and garlic potatoes are serious highlights everyone was talking about the potatoes after. Had to book in advance due to the popularity well worth the wait.

This place looked beautiful from the outside, warm and welcoming. Unfortunately it wasn't the case when we went in. Initially went in around 5pm on a Saturday lots of empty tables (with no reserved signs on, maybe that's not the case in this establishment?) We asked if we could have just drinks and was told to come back in half an hour...🤔 went back again about 9ish again it wasn't busy with empty tables and was told they were wrapping up. I felt the staff were rather frosty and didn't want people to just have drinks . Such a shame as it did look lovely and having read the reviews we may have eaten there.

Best roast I’ve ever had! Gorgeous pub in a gorgeous place. All the staff were so lovely and accommodating as we had an 9 month old baby with us. They could not have done more and were so attentive. Cannot wait to book in again but I hear it’s fully booked! Not surprised as it was outstanding

very good quality seasonable food at a fair price, in a really nice cosy environment. The menu changes throughout the seasons and makes it a really good idea to go back and try their very imaginative takes on dishes you may have already tried in other restaurants. You will not be disappointed

Sunday lunch is well worth the time you need to wait as booking is essential. Tip: Phone or Email The Hawthorn, as they may be able to accommodate an ad-hoc reservation. Very beautiful building with a lot of history as you would expect from Haworth. They mix some fabulous cocktails and I can recommend the non alcoholic Ginger and Honey Lemonade (designated driver on our last visit). Exceptional food with amazing staff. Booking is definitely advisable to avoid disappointment

10 out of 10 from start to finish. This place is run by kind and very competent people. Sunday Roast was absolute perfection, especially for a pair of non-Brits like me and my friend and the atmosphere is lovely.

Read about the Hawthorn serving one of the best Sunday roasts in the UK and the reviewer wasn't wrong! Excellent food, vegetables cooked perfectly, roast beef just right, and my word the roasties!.. staff excellent and a wide range of drinks. Plus a dog bed for our cocker spaniel and a small bowl of treats to keep him from thinking he'd missed out. We will be back.

Absolutely love, love this place. I've been a few times now. It just gets better each time. The girls working on front of house and in the bar area were extremely efficient and friendly. Thank you for making such a super delicious burned peach margarita, new favourite cocktail 🍸 We all had roast lunches, lamb, and beef, which we all throughly enjoyed. Some thought the gravy was a little too salty, but the rest of us thought it was perfect. Portion sizes were spot on, too. The crispy beef cheek and garlic mayo were divine, too. Thank you, Chef's 😊 We will definitely be back soon xx

We stayed in Howarth for 4 days and on my wife's birthday we ate here. The food was exceptional, and the staff were lovely and so helpful. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

We had a lovely meal here and everything was super delicious. We ordered from grill menu. flat iron steak and the rump steak both were cooked to perfection. I recommend rump steak with Caesar salad as its side and garlic mayo sauce. This combo was amazing. I could feel the smokey taste of the meat which was great. We also had a new potato side and it tasted heavenly 🤩

The Sunday roast is the best I’ve eaten. The lamb was cooked to perfection, roast potatoes crispy and fluffy, and by far the best cauliflower cheese we’ve ever eaten. The meal came with 5 vegetables all seasonal and lovely. If you are in Haworth on a Sunday and enjoy a roast this place is a must.

Every time we visit we have an amazing experience! Food, staff, atmosphere is always great. Incredibly dog friendly, we have an anxious dog and they always support us with him and try their best to accommodate us. Only downside... We can't get a table 😂

We had read good reports about this restaurant. But we were a bit disappointed the steak was nice but only comes with fries not even a grilled tomatoe or a mushroom Burger was nice but nothing special and not very warm but trying to get anyones attention to say this was impossible. The fries were tasty. Small room a bit squashed in. Inexperienced staff didn't help I asked for a spritzer and 3 times I had to ask for soda. So overall Dissapointed

It is with much pleasure that I wish to thank all the staff who helped me (I am 92) on Monday evening. They were most kind,thoughtful and helped me beyond the call of duty! The food was served well and swiftly, on lovely hot plates! Which we all appreciated and enjoyed. I would certainly recommend the restaurant facilities to all future theatre goers.

Expected a lovely dining experience given its reputation and position in Haworth. I was very disappointed with my main meal, pasta and mussels, there was about 7 mussels in pasta with a watery tasteless "sauce" We were given a free prosecco as we celebrated our wedding anniversary there and the waiters were lovely and attentive but did seem stretched and rushed. Lovely orange gin and skin on fries, best bit of meal! Wouldnt rush back given rather tastless food.Did discuss this with waiter when paying.

We had a delicious dinner and dessert at The Haworth. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was warm and cozy.

We had a downstairs table at the window, (nice, laid out, table)We had olives first, Then, shared a lovely fish board,(large,) , Also shared Broccoli & asparagus,and a portion of fries, We would recommend the fish bord.

Fab location & very nice restaurant in heart of Haworth. Lovely atmosphere & staff too. Food was nice but for someone who doesn't eat red meat I struggled with the menu. Disappointed there wasn't any poultry option as I didn't like most dishes in the menu. I wasn't aware of a veggie menu either. I would return here for an evening meal but only if a poultry option is available on the grill or mains menu. Smoked mackerel starter was nice. Lamb kofta main was OK (but consider above comments i didnt have much choice). Polenta cake was delicious portion size could have been a bit bigger 😋 This place is perfect for carnivores who love steaks and other cuts of red meat.

Stunning! I have wanted to go for so long and was so pleased that I did! I ordered chowder and hand on heart, it was a beautiful as it was in Louisiana which is really something! I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a great meal and drinks. She had one of the steaks cooked on their charcoal grill and it was fantastic. The waitress was also ever attentive throughout our meal. Given it's quite close to home we'll definitely be coming back.

Lovely, quirky little restaurant. Great food, highly recommend the braised oxcheeks and the sirloin steak. Great range of drinks and cocktails. I thoroughly recommend the Stout and Cinder Toffee espresso martini. All in all, highly recommended.

Valentines meal with the wife. Absolutely fantastic Food and service with a smile and lovely atmosphere. Coupled with a rustic old fashioned feel.... but injected with that shot of modern and relaxing fun and up to date much needed romantic night out. Spot on. It was our first time visiting Haworth, and we booked The Hawthorn based on the positive reviews. Everything was great, we had an enjoyable evening here, great atmosphere, food exceptional, service very friendly and attentive from everyone we interacted with, and this was despite them being very busy. One suggestion would be a clearer layout of the menu, differentiating between the starters and mains, it was a bit confusing. Overall top marks, and I'd gladly return here if we ever stay in Haworth again.

My boyfriend and I booked in for the Sunday roast after his friend had recommended it. It's a cosy place with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and the service was friendly and efficient. We shared the ox cheeks to start, delicious. For mains, I had the lamb roast and my boyfriend had beef. All the accompaniments were delicious especially the roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese. The meats were cooked well and the gravy was divine! We also got the pigs in blankets side. For 3 drinks, starter, side and 2 mains it came to £63. Definitely worth it for the quality. Will definitely be returning.

This is a great little place to eat (we have been here many times). The Sunday lunch is amazing, though so too is the rest of the food. Service is very good, though. I'd like to be asked what drink I'd like a but quicker (splitting hairs here) All in all, a lovely place to be - of you can get in!

Both meals were excellent, nothing too fancy, but all perfectly cooked and very tasty.

The food was superb. Our party of 6 enjoyed it. We had Ox cheek, whole Sea Bass. Steak. Sea food Inc mussels, king prawn, fish in a sauce with potatoes and veg. Desserts were gorgeous and plenty full. The Hawthorns is in a lovely setting up Haworth Main Street. It's decorated in old wooden cosy way. All the tables were booked. Staff are so helpful and friendly. What more would you want. The building was originally a clock menders shop.

Had an incredible experience here at the Hawthorn. First, the atmosphere and environment are hard to beat, transporting you back in time with upscale coziness. The food was another highlight - everything tasted amazing. And then the service was welcoming and friendly. Overall would absolutely recommend when visiting Haworth for a nicer night out.

First time visit and wasn’t disappointed, the roast beef was to die for. Tender slices of beef, homemade yorkies, plenty of superbly cooked vegetables and the best cauliflower cheese I have been tasted. Superb sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We will be back very soon. The Hawthorn is located in the beautiful village of Howarth. We decided to go to the hawthorn one day and the food was so good that we booked if for my birthday meal. We have recommended The Hawthorn to friends and family who have since been and loved it, too! We’ve booked again for in the NY! Food is beautiful, service is spot on and the atmosphere is very welcoming and cosy.

You’re in for a treat with this place. From the moment I stepped in without a reservation Rachel the duty manager did everything possible to accommodate me. The outcome? A perfectly cooked meal (from steak to a cheeseboard) topped off with an appreciation of how whip-smart the entire team is there. Thanks for the night, everyone.

Our experience started the moment we walked in through the door, staff were polite and attentive.. We both ordered steak, all the fantastic reviews about the Hawthorn are true , and then some, amazing meal.. Well worth the expense. Kudos to the Hawthorn, chef and the lovely servers for their service this evening.

First of all, the food is exquisite it really is wonderful. The flavours I especially recommend the fish a few times. I have visited this restaurant but this time it was for our wedding and it was absolutely top notch. Also, I will say that the staff are very attentive and really make sure that you feel like you are having a wonderful time. The cocktails are wonderful and if you want a private venue in the upstairs room, it is absolutely the best place to be in. Haworth Georgian decor and beautiful candle it scenes and you really feel as though you are having a wonderful party. I highly recommend the Hawthorn. It is a wonderful place to have a exquisite and extra special meal.

Was down from Glasgow for the Sunday Roast. It was absolutely beautiful. Very well run establishment.

My wife and I visited The Hawthorn for the first time on 20th October to attend a wedding meal in the private dining room. I had the Whitby Crab starter and the Dexter Ribeye steak served rare. The starter was delicious and beautifully presented, and the ribeye steak was really tasty and so tender it melted in my mouth. My wife had the fondue starter and the whole bream, and she loved both. The staff are so professional and friendly, and no request was too much for them. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and cozy, which was particularly enjoyed on the rainy evening we visited Haworth! Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the care taken in presenting it. We are already planning our return to The Hawthorn!

The Hawthorn in Haworth truly captivates with its breathtaking setting and stunning cuisine. Undoubtedly, one of the best dining experiences I've had recently. The exceptional service from the staff further elevated the entire visit.

Food was so so good and the staff nice. We had 2 young kids in our group and didn't have much space and were judged if the kids were abit noisy (by a rude diner behind us) Not the restaurants fault but ruined it abit for us.

This is clearly the best place to eat in Haworth. The service is very good it is dog friendly ( little pots of dog biscuits and a bowl of water and even a dog bed.) and the atmosphere is wonderful. Not cheap - with drinks and dessert and a small tip £90 for 2 but totally worth it.

Met four strangers on the Saturday, joined them for Sunday lunch the following day. It was superb, food, service and atmosphere all 5 star. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Super food, quite reasonably priced. We were in a separate room to accommodate a larger group so sometimes had to wait a bit for service and missed out on the whole "restaurant" experience but we had a grat time anyway

Just no complaints. Superb! The fish board is awesome. The steaks are sublime and every member of the service staff so pleasant. Credit to the restaurant manager Masie for running a very efficient service and all the kitchen staff for excellent food and presentation... this place is near Michelin standard. Just book and enjoy.
