Chapel House in Bradford

We ordered the steak and ale pie...I was with a friend and my mother who were mortified that I wanted to complain. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures. Pub was busy as it was a hot day and a funeral at the same time. Back to the pie. It was all gravy with the odd tiny bits of meat. The biggest meat I had was fatty 😵‍💫 Compared to other hostililaries the pie is below average. And definitely would not recommend. Not value for money. The gravy tasted nice though. Giving it the 1 star review.

We came yesterday for a family lunch. Staff were really friendly and attentive to my 5 year old daughter. The food was lovely and really quick despite it being busy. We will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This review is primarily a massive shout out to whichever customer collected my lost bank card on one of my previous visit. Also more importantly to the staff who kept it safely until my next visit, very nice to see there still lots of food people out there. Finally, loved the Chapel House Ale. Hope to see that at the Chapelfest in a few weeks😁

Another lovely meal at the Chapel House. This time Sunday lunch. We couldn’t fault any of our meals today. Perfectly cooked and served to our table by attentive staff who can’t do enough for you. Looking around we noticed other regular eaters - says it all. Compliments to the chef and all involved. Highly recommend.

Went to this place yesterday staff were very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable i felt as if they were racist and the customers were very freindly,also we was put into a corner where there was steps and my daughter was in a wheelchair and there is no disabled toilets definitely will not be visiting this place again and if you are disabled and need the toilet take a commode.

Beautiful pub to sit outside. Food was ok. But for the price, I would have expected a little more. My steak was over cooked and quite fatty. But the beautiful beer garden made up for it.

Decent food at a decent price in a clean and relaxed environment. Service was also very good. Would recommend.

A not very frequently visited venue but the atmosphere, service and food are always excellent.

We visited for mothersday and we were all very disappointed with the quality of the food. It was extremely busy and everyone was crammed in, so space was very limited. Several of our party ordered the garlic.mushrooms for our starters. These were very watery and didn't taste much of garlic. We had waited quite some time for our food to arrive so none of us complained, but each dish was the same. The mains were just as disappointing. 2 got hunters chicken and their chicken was like rubber. 2 got the roast, well the beef was just fat and chewy, the peas were like bullets, the roast potatoes were tiny but like rock, no fluffy potatoe inside, the cauliflower cheese was just in white sauce with no cheese present and finally the brocoli was frozen but tasted of freezer burn and springy when you tried to cut it. When we complained about the roast, the waiter just said ill get you another slice of meat. No I didn't want another slice thank you. I get it was mothers day and I get they were busy but this doesn't excuse the quality of the food you served up. We had a huge wait for the food to be delivered. Ive visited chapel.house in the past and their food had always been to a high standard but yesterday's visit was a huge disappointment. In response to Amy's reply below... Thank you for your apology but why have you rubbished this by stating you had rave reviews,which sort of implies my review was wrong. The fact the table next to us sent their garlic mushrooms back due to dish being full of water and waited 20 minutes to receive its replacement confirms your chef had issues with this dish. You stated you wish I'd brought this to your attention,but i told the young male waiter. He saw the beef and agreed it was just full of fat. He also apologised for the delays we faced waiting for food and drinks, stating the restaurant has been rammed all day, implying you'd taken too many bookings. I would have gladly accepted your apology if that's what you had written, but clearly your response was to try imply that my review was false by mentioning these so called "rave reviews". The fact no-one has published from mothersday except me speaks volumes.

Bar maid needs to cheer up. Very off putting when the service is so grumpy. Don't need this attitude after a hard day's work.

Great cheap afternoon out, surrounded by a beautiful setting, customer service is absolutely 💯 👌 food was what you would expect 😋 nothing to fault at all.

Called on the off chance of having a meal, Amy and Matt sorted us out a table for us, as it was extremely busy in the bar area although great atmosphere, the service and the food was extremely good andcwill be definitely returning 👍

Food really nice and always is. Not a place for a quick pub lunch however due to time waiting. Can feel a little squashed in the restaurant. The food is worth the wait.

We had a lovely lunch today. The only thing that let it down was the rude lady who was serving in the bar below, was very off hand when my friend asked for directions. We will definitely be back as our lunch was very good. The service at the table was excellent

Had an excellent visit to celebrate a family birthday. Food selection was great and tasted delicious! We were well looked after by Matt & Pam and would definitely go back!

This was our first trip and wont be our last! The pub is clean and tidy. The food was absolutely beautiful and the staff were amazing. Especially Jo and Matt who served us! Felt like nothing was too much trouble and they were just fab.. a real credit to the pub! Can't wait to return! :)

This is a brilliant pub and well worth trying if you're local to the area. I'd say the most outstanding part is the service, very attentive, something which is lacking in pubs of a similar standard on the food front. The food was really good, and I especially enjoyed the chicken strips, as did my wife. We shared both starters and the sauce from the belly pork bites dish went down a treat for both dishes. This pub had the best of both worlds when it comes to atmosphere, as we entered, we were met by loads of people surrounding the bar having a great time. We then walked through the pub to the dining area, where it was more chilled out and relaxing, despite the hoards of people at the other end of the pub. I will definitely be visiting here again to try out some of their other food options!

Lots of choice in the menu,the food is really nice and the staff are friendly.We went here when the weather was really cold and the car park had not been cleared and salted.Would have been 5 stars if the car park had been sorted.

I was looking for somewhere to eat with my son before his cycling event the following day. We had driven up from Essex that day and booked here as it was close to Premier Inn Bradford South. The pub was vibrant and had a lovely atmosphere, and the restaurant at the back was perfect for us. We were greeted by Matt, who seated us and served us really quickly as we were keen to get back to the hotel for a rest. The food was great and Matt and Leanne were very attentive. We are likely to return to Bradford again and if so, will definitely be coming back!

My group were not all impressed with the food but I had a very nice pie and chips.

Dropped in on the chance New Year Day. Very busy but was found a table then a few minutes later asked if we wanted to move to a better one that had become vacant. I had rump steak, very nice, partner had fish and chips. He complained the chips weren’t hot enough and they were replaced straight away. A bit of a wait for mains to come but they were busy. Waitresses Emma Libby and Pam very pleasant and helpful.

To begin with Jo was brilliant and settled us in straight away while Emma and Libby kept our meals and drinks coming at a very quick rate. My son had a chicken and pulled ham pie which I have to say looked amazing and he confirmed it was one of the best he'd had. Hunters chicken along with fish and chips including Mac & cheese were our mains. Starters were the Camembert sharing platter, prawns and chorizo, halloumi and salt and pepper squid were all delicious. Some of us had dessert but all of us had to let our waistlines expand. The Guinness shortage hit the pub and was a shame but we managed... Great first time experience for me, will definitely go again.

Had booked a meal for family but when I arrived found out I'd booked it for day after by mistake but a lovely lady called Emma couldn't do enough for us and went out of her way to fit us in which she didn't have to do as the ktchen was closing in five minutes she even arranged something for my mum to eat which wasn't on the menu was also served by a waiter called matt who was very friendly and helpful both staff are a credit to u also the food was gorgeous myself and family had a great night u made are christmas your kindness meant a lot

Always guaranteed good food. Chapel house is in the green king chain and all have a high standard of food and service. We attended in a party of 8 for a birthday party. We were shown to our table on arrival and the drinks order was taken soon after. All the food on the menus were available which is always a good thing. The food preparation time was perfect and the service was first class. Without doubt we will be back again and again.

A wonderful time as always at the Chapel House, all 8 of our party had delicious food at such a reasonable price. The staff were polite and the food came fast, highly recommended! The pies are amazing, the roasts are amazing, everything I eat here is generally really good. The restaurant is the right size, not too big or small, and the volume wasn't too loud. We will be coming back.

Called with my mum for Sunday lunch, as always the food was excellent. We both chose the lamb and it was cooked perfectly, lovely light Yorkshire puddings and gorgeous roast potatoes, I also had the apple & blackberry crumble pie which was really lovely. Compliments to the chefs. We were looked after by Matt and Amy who proivded excellent friendly service

Called in on off chance, nice young man said he would sort me out in 5 for my family. Table was ready in 5 like he said. Bar area was busy as football was on, restaurant area was busy also, but not as loud. We ordered Sunday Roasts and my family of four could not fault it, it tasted lovely and there was plenty of it. The young waiter(max) and Amy were very attentive. My family and I left very full and happy. Thank you.

Matt & Jo made our visit to The Chapel pub wonderful. They were so friendly, happy and engaging. We are from the south of England and have been blown away by the friendly nature of everyone we've met in Yorkshire, Matt & Jo were at the top of our list for lovely, friendly people! A visit to the Chapel House at the weekend was managed much better than a previous family visit which I commented upon, where we were told the table was booked again and immediately given our bill. This visit when the next guests were due, we were informed in advance and offered another table to finish our drinks. Even without the choice of another table, we were happy with the timely notice. We took the table and ended up ordering another round. Win-win for us and the Chapel House! Food offers are good at the moment and we opted for the burger and beer at £12. All meals were well presented, plentiful and tasty. It’s good to be able to give a positive feedback on this occasion.

Good food, excellent service but too noisy for family group on Saturday night. My mistake ! The lamb shank and the katsu chicken were praised and I can recommend the chicken schnitzel especially the sauce.

This place is amazing. I’m away on business for a week, my Hotel restaurant is really expensive for what’s on offer, the Chapel House isn’t. Really buzzing atmosphere, great menu at great prices. I was so impressed on Sunday, I’ve already booked for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It’s a must visit, guess we’re I am now 😂😂😂

Lovely little pub with a wide selection of food available. We were served by Pam who was really nice, nothing was too much trouble and she made the experience a friendly and enjoyable one.

This review is a little late but worth the wait! I organised a surprise retirement party for a friend and all staff were ‘in on the act’ from the start. From making the initial request for a private booking with Amy up to the day of the event was well managed and perfectly executed. Communication via email was responded to quickly and efficiently. Requests were dealt with professionally. On the day, I went early with another guest to ‘trim up’ the buffet area. Emma was really helpful and asked how we were to play the surprise. Between us we worked out how to carry the surprise off. Guests were hidden while I brought the retiree in. Amy approached us at the bar and asked if we were eating. She accompanied us to the restaurant saying they weren’t very busy so could choose where to sit. Then stood back to allow the retiree to realise what was happening. The buffet was served at a time I’d asked for. It was very reasonably priced, choices were plentiful and food was tasty. It went down a treat and some guests took ‘doggy bags’ home! It was a lovely sunny day so we had the rear garden to ourselves too. Emma was a first class host on the day, nothing was too much trouble, from secretly ushering guests in, to taking a group photo of guests. Thank you to all involved - truly a day to remember.

Very poor service in every way, had to complain to Green king head office, I won't be going back, the management is very poor indeed (and rude) my complaint was resolved by head office who confirmed that I was right.......

Had been to see a show at Bradford Alambra and found this place when searching for somewhere to eat after. Has a decent sized car park. Outside looking pretty with loads of flowers in tubs. Inside and asked if we could be seated for a meal. The friendly lady found us a table and we had a very nice meal, followed by a yummy pudding. Would highly recommend a visit and if we are in the area again, we would go back.

Took my daughter in after holiday club, pint, half a diet coke n crisps - £9.60. Great place nothing personal but as a single parent that's nearly a weeks gas /electricity prices for us. Sadly that's life though. Won't be going back at those prices sadly , pubs in Norwood green are better & cheaper.

Great day in the sun . Lovely friendly pub

Went for a friend's birthday. We had a very lovely meal. This time we had Lamb Shanks and Lasagna. We have had other meals there too, and it is always the same great standard at a very reasonable price too.Very friendly staff as usual. Nothing too much trouble for them. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely will recommend them.

Stopped off whilst traveling home, The pub was very busy for mid week but that was nice to see. Locals were friendly and the pub had an overall very nice atmosphere. Dog friendly with a dog menu! We ordered food for us (and the dogs), arrived quickly and it was really nice. Shame it's not nearer to home as would be a regular visitor.

I met some friends for some food and drinks on a Sunday afternoon, we sat outside as the weather was nice. The beer garden is excellent with a view of a lovely church. The food a service were spot on, would highly recommended.

A few of us went for food the other night, service was fantastic and food even better - so much so I asked for the name of the chef, a lad called Josh - big compliments to him, will be back again soon. Keep up the good work!
