Food very mediocre and cold. Service was good. My roast turkey dinner looked nothing like the appetising picture on the menu. The mingy portion of roast potatoes were tough and stale. The frozen vegetables were watery. The turkey was preformed. One had beef rib and the rib was tender but same complaint about potatoes and vegd. Only six chips on the child’s meal. Would not return and will not recommend

We booked in for 3 nights from a Monday to a Wednesday on a bed and breakfast basis. We were aware that there would be no evening restaurant service for the first two nights. The location and grounds are beautiful and the front line staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately the bed in our room was very uncomfortable - for a lightweight person the mattress was extremely hard with no give in it at all. As a result I had no sleep on the first night and was in a lot of pain by the morning, so much so that we reluctantly decided to end our stay. In accordance with the terms and conditions we were liable for the full cost, which we understood, and we paid without any fuss. However, as there seemed to be no other guests in residence at the time it was clear that our late cancellation had no impact on the ability to re- sell the accommodation to someone else, and I believe that meeting us half way with the costs would have been reasonable in the interests of good customer relations. We were offered another room but obviously the mattress was likely to be the same. I know everyone has different needs and there have been some very favourable reviews but I can only tell of my own experience. Our breakfast was well served and prepared but the choice was limited for a hotel of this standard - there did not seem to be any pastries/croissants on the menu.

Excellent service from Lucy. Great cream tea with generous portions of jam and cream together with warm, light scones. Very dog friendly and one of our favourite places to visit when we are in Lyme Regis. Well worth a visit, as they also offer a wide range of options and have gluten free cake!

Undoubtedly the best roast dinner we can find in the Stroud area. It's a great place any day or time of day. Oliver is a great host, the staff are attentive and the food is first class. Dogs are welcome and why wouldn't they be as this place is right in the centre of great walks.

We had to try the new Sunday lunch menu and we were not disappointed. Roast beef served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cheesy leeks and a proper Yorkshire - not one of those rock hard crispy things restaurants often serve. Followed up with the best freshly cooked Blueberry Bakewell and cream. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks very much

Second time we have been to The Station Hotel for food since our family members moved to the village. Both times the food has been amazing….. very difficult to not over indulge and have 3 courses!! Lots of variety on the menu and different items on the menus both times we have visited. All our food was amazing but the beef cheeks starter, crab donut starters and Lamb on the mains specials deserve a special mention! Would definitely recommend and no doubt at all that we will be visiting again and again!
