Another great meal, all seven of us enjoyed our food and service was good. Best place to dine in South Norfolk. Very welcoming and affordable.

Have been a number of times for lunch/dinner over the last few years. Consistently good service, great selection and good value. Friendly staff, too. Sunday veg roasts are a delight; cauli cheese sublime. Twix cheesecake last Sunday was amazing.

Another visit and another brilliant evening. We went with some friends on a Friday night and there were a lot of people in. I had to book in advance and was shown to one of my favourite tables, the ones with the very comfortable bench type seats. Although it was full there was a nice atmosphere and a great buzz about the place. The "girls" serving were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive throughout the evening. We ordered our food and considering the place was full it came out in good time. the plates were hot and the food we had was delicious. We had some beers and some wine between us which was sensibly priced. In all we had a very nice evening. The staff are all credit to the company.

Lovely place, great food. Exceptional service. Stayed overnight for a bargain price of £75 B&B for two. Had a lovely meal and drinks and highly recommend.

Excellent place for a meal or a drink. Staff are efficient and friendly. We felt very welcome. The menu is varied with some interesting dishes. The menu caters for vegan/gluten free people. The meals we had were served piping hot and were delicious. We always try to have a meal here when we visit Norfolk. Prices are very reasonable.

Went for breakfast before a work meeting and ordered the poached eggs on sour dough with mushrooms and extra bacon. Have to say it was okay. Sour dough toast was very hard with no butter. Mushrooms okay, bacon over cooked and poached eggs very watery. Not sure if that’s the standard but would expect better for £15. Would I go back. Maybe.

Excellent place to eat, would highly recommend to all. Georgia the manager, runs a tight ship and her staff are welcoming, friendly and know the menu very well. Even the family dog Millie was made to feel very welcome. Food was delicious and the staff gave us excellent customer care. We were so impressed we eat there three times in our one week holidays. ( Diner twice and breakfast) A special thank you to Georgia, Dottie and Kieran who made our dining experience with them excellent. They all deserve a pay rise and recognition of their excellent service they provide. Thanks Sugar beat we will definitely come again.

After seeing all the good reviews about this place we decided to book a night to stay as we had a wedding to attend down the road, very quickly realised the reviews was mainly based on the restaurant, definitely not the rooms, or Atleast the one we stayed in anyway. I’ll start with the fact that breakfast definitely isn’t included in the price of the room as on the receipt we was given after we paid £105 for the room there was £10 x 2 for breakfast. We booked for a double room with a baby. The first hiccup We got put in a room with 2 single beds, not ideal but ok not the end of the world we pushed them together. The room we was in had very low roofs that my partner was hitting his head every single time he stood up or sat up on his bed. To make a cup of tea/coffee was having to crouch down and basically fold our selfs due to the slouched roof. Right outside under the window was the LOUDEST generator for the kitchens so the bedroom smelt like grease & kept waking the baby until late night then to top that off the bins was being emptied at 10pm then the recycling was also done late again waking the baby up. The shower was absolutely disgusting and only half the shower head worked too, the towels provided had what I could only say looked like poo stains on them. The following morning we headed down for breakfast, the restaurant is lovely decor wise, outside in the garden is a really nice environment, the food came out exactly how I asked for it and was presented really nice. The overall taste was rather underwhelming though, maybe that’s because we’ve got a very preferred pallet. Honestly will never go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody we know we’re absolutely disgusted that we’ve spent £105 on this place to have the actual worst B&B experience.

Terrible service - just ignored and left to wonder what the food might be like. Not the staff’s fault - just not enough of them. Will not go back. Management - sort it out

Friendly staff and could not be more helpful. Good selection of beers and ciders. Food was fantastic, quick and came in massive portions. We were recommended to come here and so glad we did.

Good menu, friendly, efficient staff. Nicely laid out, with plenty of space (not all crammed in). Only downer for me was the very busy road outside - tricky turning right into. Take care!

I can't rate to rooms as we didn't stay here but if the food and service is anything to go by it would be a really pleasant place to stay.

Good food here, I had the roast chicken, which was a decent amount of meat provided. Potatoes were nice but i think more into the vegetables would be beneficial for the taste. The cauliflower cheese was nice.

Easy accessible from the A47 and plenty of parking available. Service was fantastic and food was tasty. Great value for money for both food and drink.

Great food Great service cost a bit but was nice

It’s a shame they’ve stopped doing a decent salad, now you can only have a salad that comes with noodles (carbs). Some for health reason’s can’t have carbs or fatty foods and so a salad is their only option. They used to do a wonderful salad with the option of meat, poultry or feta. Bring it back!

Great place with lovely people. Very good value for your money. Hefty menu, big rooms and free parking with CCTV. A large garden, a little bar with a good variety of drinks. The location is well positioned to drive around to various attractions in the area. Glad I picked them up for a 3 night stay.

We visited for a family birthday celebration with over 20 people. The service was superb and all the food was extremely good.

We're staying at Dunston Hall, literally five minutes up the road (by car). We'd passed this restaurant on our way to the hall and decided to give it a look. WOW the food was delicious. Neither hubby or I have huge appetites so we just had a main course each. Salmon fillet with new potatoes, peas and spinach for me and wild mushrooms linguine for hubby. Very lovely staff, happy greeting on arrival, clean and comfortable venue, reasonably priced, we will definitely be visiting again.

Food average, nothing very good. atmosphere dreadful, stuck at end of room, felt very cold away from main seating area. Nothing on walls, could'nt sit at bar for a drink. First and last time.

We would like to thank everyone at the Sugar Beat Eating House for being so accommodating during our visit. We booked the private room for a team meeting, the pastries at breakfast time were delicious and we were very well looked after in terms of drinks etc throughout the morning. . We then moved into the main restaurant area for lunch, the waitress was brilliant, so was the food and we weren’t rushed off the table either, which is always nice. The main restaurant was very busy, that’s always a sign that it’s a good place to eat when it’s that popular on a Wednesday lunchtime. Thank you to all the team, we will definitely be back again.

As always, a great breakfast with even greater staff. Well done to everyone concerned. I go here for breakfast at least four times a month and have never been disappointed

Had a pretty decent meal here. Can i just say the prawns were beyond amazing, good in number, plump and crispy...but the noodles were uninspiring and felt a bit unloved compared to the prawns. The other photos that feature below include the chicken burger, the halloumi burger and some sharing nachos. Decent if you are hungry...I did have a bit of burger envy...! Portions are big...so no room for dessert ... don't think I would rush back which is a shame as those prawns were so good, but wouldn't be adverse to going back either...

Delicious food, good staff, good atmosphere and clean. 1st time eating there and discovered by chance. Recommended. Worth visiting again.

We arrived for a family meal there was 5 of us seated very quickly and given menus. Front of house was amazing at looking after us. However the food was not great the hunters chicken was very dry, the duck leg over cooked and rock hard. The chilli chicken was nice but only had about 4 bits of chicken on the dish, this place used to be one for our best places to eat however it is going to down hill in the food , which is a major disappointment!!!

The food was great in the restaurant, and the wait staff were good. All the problems were with everything else. The room was 1000 degrees the mattress was 1000 years old with a mattress topper straight from a bargain bin. They supplied an old cot for my 3 months old daughter that seemed to have old wall panelling at the bottom as a base. Nothing has changed since the BNB was on four in a bed everything out dated and old. Revision The SugarBeat hotel manager called me personally to rectify the situation, he went above and beyond apologise and to mak sure this didn't happen to anyone else. I fully believe he and the others that work at the SugarBeat will get it right in the future, and speaking with Stevie I would consider staying again.

Hosted a 90th birthday meal for my in law yesterday. She loved being centre of attention & the surprise guests who joined us. We had use of the little private dining room & were able to close the door for more privacy. Nothing was too much trouble, from turning the music off as the birthday girl disliked it as it made it uncomfortable with her hearing aids, to ensuring we had all we needed. Food was delicious, company great, location perfect - we couldn't have asked for more. The staff made the special occasion something she will be talking about for weeks. Thank you!!

Not the best place I eaten in had the fish chips waz like shoe leather will not hurry back looked a 1950 diner a bit

I stopped today on my way through for lunch first impression looked very nice from the outside went in was greeted by avery nice young lady I asked was I ok to order food after along drive yes was the reply taken to a table the restaurant looked very nice well laid out the young lady that looked after me so well was Ella very polite most helpful credit to the company the place was very clean and tidy I went for the prawn sandwich and a side of cheesy chips the sandwich came out again presented very well lots of fresh prawns and a salad garnish very nice bread if you find your self on your way on a140 to Norfolk look this place up it won’t disappoint all the girls that was working your all deserve a massive pat on the back for looking after us so well thank you so much Ella and the team inc chef as well 100/100 stars love mr cheeky in Kent glen 28/03/24 12.10pm

Excellent meal and service highly recommend

My first time going to sugarbeat and I loved it! We ordered a Pretzel milkshake and a lemon and lime. Both great drinks! For food we had the loaded Macaroni cheese nachos. These were incredible! The macaroni cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had! Loaded with crispy onions, side bowls of guacamole, salsa and sour cream! Perfect on its own as a main meal. I had the 8oz Steak! It came with onion rings, salad, a side of peppercorn sauce and I asked for the skinny fries instead. Amazing all such incredible food! You can tell it’s all home made and really good quality ingredients. The atmosphere and seating is really nice. I also think the price is great even with how big the portions are! Lastly the staff were great lovely! I would 100% recommend going!

Was very disappointed with the food! I had Confit Duck leg which was very overcooked on one side which made the meat very tough to eat. Sitting on a very large bed of red cabbage, diced carrots and mash potatoes. The potatoes were awful not creamy in fact no taste I wondered if they were instant mash! Had Crème Brûlée for desert in a cup which was so thick and stodgy I couldn’t eat much at all. I complained about the desert, the server said she would tell the chef and asked if we would like anything else instead. So we decided on a pot of tea each. On getting the bill was charged for the desert and the tea! This a very typical venue nowadays where sound bounces of the walls etc. There were people celebrating a birthday on one table apparently and the noise was absolutely horrendous! Will not be going back!

12 of us in our family group had a fantastic dinner, All the food was of an excellent standard and great value for money. Service was equally as good all staff were very helpful and efficient. Thank you all.

Came for a late lunch with friends and had a great meal. Fantastic service and they looked after the kids amazingly. I had the butter chicken burger and chips and then shared the cookie dough for dessert. Husband had fish and chips. We both enjoyed our meals.

You have to make a point of visiting to try one of their superb cooked breakfasts....you won't be disappointed in the quality, quantity or price! And to top it all the service received has always been second to none. We will be back again soon.

Great place to stay. Room was bright, comfortable and clean, with everything i needed. Despite challenges with the booking, staff perservered and got it sorted. Food options were good. Definitely recommend

The staff was outstanding with great hospitality skills. The breakfast very tasted with zero faults on quality and taste. Eventhough room being an attic conversion was huge in size, the tilted ceilings we ended up banging our heads on the wall several times was painful and annoying. The shower drain was blocked even with shower having hardly no flow and little stones lying around on the bathroom floor. The air-conditioning unit had no power so very sweaty sleeping. Nevertheless, the breakfast and all the staff outruns the poor feedback but hope the hotel can rectify these issues to gain 5 star.

We booked a night's accommodation with breakfast with an experience voucher and have to say it's one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The room was a good size, clean and cosy with a king size bed and even had a drinks fridge containing chilled water and milk. We also enjoyed an evening meal during our stay which we both found delicious. There was no doubt that the food was freshly prepared and to a high standard. Breakfast in the morning was also superb and plentiful. The service we experienced throughout our stay was excellent. Everyone who served us was so pleasant and attentive. This is a great place to stay and/or eat and is only a short drive from Norwich centre. Highly recommended. Thanks for making our stay so pleasant!

Stopped for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Certainly more than ‘pub grub’ large selection of meals with plenty of Gluten Free options. Staff super helpful and knowledgeable with allergies. Highly recommend!

We were so lucky choosing your hotel on our visit to the lotus factory, first impressions count the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food for our evening meal could not have been better, the room was a good size and spotlessly clean with everything you would need for the stay, breakfast was fantastic, our stay was great 👍

Had a absolute lovely meal,as did my partner. I opted for sweet chilli chicken and my partner the hunter's chicken. The staff we're very attentive and made a very enjoyable night,would highly recommend

Stayed for 2 nights , lovely comfortable bed , fridge in room which was a nice touch / On a main road , so easy to find , but no road noise . Lots of parking Food for breakfast and dinner was excellent and good menu options . All of the staff were excellent , especially Georgia and Keiran , nothing too much trouble for anybody . Would thoroughly recommend and will return when next in area .

Have eaten here lots but not stayed in the rooms as only down the road from us. Food is consistently good, we’ve eaten breakfast time, lunch & dinner on many occasions. The service is always good and friendly too. We have even held a 5th birthday party here, in the garden. They are always keen to listen and accommodate where they can. Definitely recommend a visit for either a typical meal out, or any special occasion.

I have eaten at the Sugarbeat on multiple occasions (apologies it's taken me this long to write a review!) Every time the food has been delicious and the staff friendly and generally pretty amazing! We popped in for breakfast at the weekend, we had a table of 7 and only 2 of us didn't make changes to the menu options! Every plate was spot on and exactly what we ordered. I rarely clear my plate from a full English and I am super fussy with my bacon... I cleared my plate and started on other peoples too!!! Highly recommend this establishment! Great side room for meetings too, attended meetings and training sessions in here and again, always well looked after!

Sugarbeat is by far our favourite place to eat. The food is always spot on - delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are so friendly - nothing is ever too much trouble and our children are always made to feel welcome. If you’re visiting I highly recommend the cheesecake. Because no matter what the flavour is it’s always the best cheesecake around! Roll on the summer so we can enjoy our meals in the lovely outside area

Great place and seems very popular. I stopped for coffee and lunch on my way to a meeting, the staff were welcoming and cheerful. The food was lovely and freshly cooked, the crisps were to die for!

We ate here on 2 occasions, the food was tasty and well presented and good value for money. Staff friendly and a quick service. The only criticism is the restaurant is not easy to spot from a very busy road, having the sign lit up would help.

I took my mum and dad there for a treat,and what a treat it was. The service was brilliant right from start to finish and the food was amazing I can highly recommend the southern fried chicken burger it was mouth watering.So if you're reading this all I can say is you won't be disappointed give it a try Steve Talby

Never have I left a review before but I felt sugarbeat eating house deserves the credit we had a 3 night stay here and can't say a bad word about it friendly staff nice room with all you need to feel comfortable the breakfast was fantastic with a great choice to choice we also ate dinner here all 3 nights witch was also very nice from would defiantly recommend this place to anyone looking for a short break 5 star well deserved 👏

A group of 10 came here today for a surprise 60th birthday. What a fantastic place. Food was amazing, nothing left on the plates. Communication with Stevie when organising the event was very good. It was very busy with other customers and a surprise 50th birthday also, but service was excellent and nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. I would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you 😊

I joined a group of 13 ladies here today for lunch. The food was excellent and service very good. The young man in charge was very pleasant and anxious every thing was right. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

Lovely food but slow service. Were there two hours and only got to eat the mains. Gave in waiting for a dessert. Wouldnt go again near Christmas as Christmas parties took priority.

Xmas party. All three courses tasted absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend

Stayed overnight in room Vancouver. Very bright modern room, comfortable and warm. Bathing facilities excellent. Generous supply of towels. Breakfast served from 9.00 -10.30. Modern restaurant and pub. Good friendly staffing. Variety and quality of meals excellent. A place to bring children family or friends. Good pricing for such facilities

Five of us went in for breakfast today. The welcome was warm and cheerful. The service was excellent - attentive without being over the top. I strongly recommend Eggs Royale - quite the best I have eaten - thank you chef. We will be back in future.
