Cactus in Norwich

I use this cafe for both working and relaxing, several times a week - it’s an absolute treat - friendly, welcoming, inclusive and with great food & drinks. Two thirds of the space is for drinks/ dining / chilling and the other third given over to kids and their parents for play/ food fights, so seeing a couple of bad reviews for cleanliness made me think these ‘reviewers’ are just ridiculous - the cafe is spotless, unless you join the multitude of toddlers launching drinks and food at each other. Why don’t people support excellent small businesses instead of being so pointlessly negative? Or even speak to the staff like an adult, instead of being snide behind a keyboard.

Excellent lunch, excellent service, excellent drinks… such a lovely space to relax, read, eat, chat, drink - you choose.

It really does need a good clean. It's great that it is such a welcoming space to parents and children, but it needs cleaning properly, the blue sofas are filthy and smell like there has been "an accident" at some point, and the flies seem to agree. They need to be burnt with fire Come on, Cactus Cafe, bring these standards up. I would much rather visit you than any Costa but only if you clean up

Please clean up your act. Open your windows once in a while. Deep clean required. I want you to succeed. Most people don't complain they just don't come back. Best of luck.

Such a lovely lunch experience! Gorgeous ham and cheese toasty, super tasty and crispy sweet potato fries, lovely fresh salad, but the cherry on top was the perfect service from Darianna, I have never seen such a hard working waitress/barista/chef, she was going above and beyond for every customer! fantastic work 10/10!!

Food tastes great but slightly lacks in variety, especially if you missed the breakfast period. Service is great, and the cafe atmosphere is generally quite good. Issue with the toilets - the toilet is dark and a bit damp, and the stall door doesn't close properly, much less locking properly. Apart from that, cute little cafe.

Me and my partner are always here with the kids. It's a great place to chill out and have a coffee whilst the children play.

Amazing little cafe, child and family friendly, does gluten free, vegan and vegetarian food as well as meat. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. This is my children's favourite place for a treat.

A pleasant enough experience. This cafe is clearly big on their family friendly atmosphere which I found stressful. Many children running around screaming and hitting things, after 30 minutes it was like drinking coffee in a day care. Overall, not the staff's fault, but still... Sitting and drinking coffee with a book became nearly impossible. So I wouldn't go back.

About to sit down for lunch with my family but was met with a Palestinian flag, so we left as we didn't feel comfortable.

Amazing breakfast, ample portions, great coffee and great service, would definitely go again..... love Norwich on a Saturday morning !

First time here, nice cosy atmosphere and comfy seating. Reasonable prices too. Only spoiled by a couple letting their children jump all over the adjacent sofas.

We often go here for a drink and a rest while my children play in the lovely play corner. Good selection of drinks, meals and snacks and all reasonably priced. Family, couples, children and dog friendly.

Friendly smiley staff. Relaxing cafe , it's my favourite in Norwich. Theres a good range on the menu and they serve alcohol at their cafe.

Interesting mix of visitors, from lone blokes to groups of mums, and not sure it all gelled together! A bit dark and pokey inside but staff were friendly. Food and coffee was average. The play area was a godsend for young children although some of the toys are very tatty and have definitely seen better days! Would have been nice to have a rug or something down for the babies too

Cannot express enough how amazing Cactus is for both coffee and the kids area! It’s a really lovely spot for mums & dads to meet and have good quality coffee and food whilst letting children play. Most unique coffee shop in the whole of Norwich in that regard!

The food and the coffee are very good and reasonably priced. The people who run it are very friendly. It’s a child friendly place (and I mean very child friendly). Dogs are welcome too.

Loved it here and used to go all the time but been turned away as they’re closing early despite other people having just been served a coffee. Very unfriendly staff. Loyalty and supporting local businesses not rewarded at all. Won’t be going again.

Really lovely cafè, first time going. The staff were super friendly, my work colleagues and I were able to work from here all day. We did have a tab open where we ordered drinks and food. Prices are really reasonable, food was good and so were the hot drinks. Will definitely be going back. It's child friendly too :) really enjoyed the atmosphere. The person in charge was also kind enough to let us stay a little longer after closing, thank you! :)

Came here for brunch with my fiancée and our dog, was a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. The staff were brilliant and very helpful, would highly recommend here if you want to bring your dog with you for something to eat or just for a coffee.

We found this place while visiting Norwich and because it was dog friendly it was perfect for us. We ordered the special breakfast and it was honestly the best breakfast we've ever had. Was just the perfect amount, not greasy, and was cooked perfectly. Thanks so much!

Great coffee, not too many vegan cake options so didn't have one in the end. I really loved the caramel latte with oat milk however so that was enough for me!

Nice little cafe with good food

Came in for a few hours whilst my boyfriend and his coworker were working, sat and had the special chicken and bacon sandwich which was super delicious, mouthwatering actually! Had a slice of carrot cake which was so moist and yummy! 100% would return The general vibes were so relaxing for a rainy Tuesday afternoon! I hope they liked the art I gave them!

Love Cactus. Always friendly atmosphere. Staff always very kind and helpful. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced. We particularly enjoy the salads!! 😋 Edit: 29.9.21 Lovely brunch today. Always great coffees, helpful staff and relaxed feel to Cactus. Enjoyed our Salmon on toast!

Wow what a great place.We arrived the door was open letting air flow in, we checked in and sanitised our hands and found a table.The place has really great seating and a children's play corner .We where 4 adults and three children .We ordered English and vegetarian breakfasts they where fantastic as was the coffee. The staff where so friendly and helpful and keep the place very clean Hand sanitizer on each table we thoroughly recommend this cafe it great 😊.

So this is my third trip in here this week as my oven has been disconnected. I had the ‘Breakfast Special’, which was served on a hot plate and everything was separated- perfect!! No complaints about the place, it’s a little qwerky and allows children so might be a bit noisy but I didn’t mind. Kept me full all day and perfect for £9!

Excellent place, very cosy, with reasonably priced coffee/food and a lovely little play area which my kids loved.

Nice food & atmosphere and good that it's small child friendly however the toys were filthy and could do with a good clean on a regular basis. Tables weren't being cleared so the bar was filling up with people taking their own dirty plates up as everyone had small children with them. Shame as we would go back again if it were just cleaner.

Food was delicious, I chose the vegan breakfast. My egg was cold but I didn’t mind The lady that served me was blonde with short hair, medium height, very blunt , started having an argument in polish with a man who wore a cap and red tracksuit bottoms, the argument was really awkward as they were so loud we couldn’t hear the music very well, it spoilt our breakfast which is such a shame as it was so yummy. We've recently had one of our Good Egg Entrepreneur events at Cactus, which is a wonderful space in the city. The team were most accommodating to all our needs. Thank you for having us.

Enjoyed lunch in here with my mum. We had the sausage, bacon and egg baps which were spot on! Waitress very helpful and loos spotless!

I took my son to Cactus for Sunday brunch. We had vegetarian special breakfast and full english breakfast. I found the staff member quite dour, not that friendly. The food however was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed, cosy & friendly. I particularly like the playroom area for tots, unusual to find in a cafe so is great for families. Dog friendly too, pity the poor waitress os scared of dogs!

Decent vegan version of traditional brekky. Sausage, beans,hash brown,mushrooms etc with avocado 'stead of egg etc. Advertised as veggie & vegan caff but noticed meat on menu too. Ok.

This definitely the best place in Norwich to have a coffee + breakfast/ brunch/ cake if you are out with kids! It has a special area with toys and books, and an amazing Montessori door that kept my 5 year-old boy busy for quite some time! Food is great, vegetarian options also available. We had a vegetarian breakfast with poached egg, avocado, grilled haloumi plus the classic staff ( mushrooms, beans, etc). Staff was very friendly, specially with kids... and there was fire at the fireplace, what else can you ask for? We love the cactus! This place is w trembly popular with families, so if you are without kids and looking for a calm quiet environment maybe this is not best option.
