Top quality meals (breakfast and lunch) served by very friendly staff :) Also the best latte in the area and the music is just perfect !

The food and the coffee are very good and reasonably priced. The people who run it are very friendly. It’s a child friendly place (and I mean very child friendly). Dogs are welcome too.

Came in for a few hours whilst my boyfriend and his coworker were working, sat and had the special chicken and bacon sandwich which was super delicious, mouthwatering actually! Had a slice of carrot cake which was so moist and yummy! 100% would return The general vibes were so relaxing for a rainy Tuesday afternoon! I hope they liked the art I gave them!

Wow what a great place.We arrived the door was open letting air flow in, we checked in and sanitised our hands and found a table.The place has really great seating and a children's play corner .We where 4 adults and three children .We ordered English and vegetarian breakfasts they where fantastic as was the coffee. The staff where so friendly and helpful and keep the place very clean Hand sanitizer on each table we thoroughly recommend this cafe it great 😊.

So this is my third trip in here this week as my oven has been disconnected. I had the ‘Breakfast Special’, which was served on a hot plate and everything was separated- perfect!! No complaints about the place, it’s a little qwerky and allows children so might be a bit noisy but I didn’t mind. Kept me full all day and perfect for £9!

Nice food & atmosphere and good that it's small child friendly however the toys were filthy and could do with a good clean on a regular basis. Tables weren't being cleared so the bar was filling up with people taking their own dirty plates up as everyone had small children with them. Shame as we would go back again if it were just cleaner.

Food was delicious, I chose the vegan breakfast. My egg was cold but I didn’t mind The lady that served me was blonde with short hair, medium height, very blunt , started having an argument in polish with a man who wore a cap and red tracksuit bottoms, the argument was really awkward as they were so loud we couldn’t hear the music very well, it spoilt our breakfast which is such a shame as it was so yummy. I took my son to Cactus for Sunday brunch. We had vegetarian special breakfast and full english breakfast. I found the staff member quite dour, not that friendly. The food however was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed, cosy & friendly. I particularly like the playroom area for tots, unusual to find in a cafe so is great for families. Dog friendly too, pity the poor waitress os scared of dogs!

Decent vegan version of traditional brekky. Sausage, beans,hash brown,mushrooms etc with avocado 'stead of egg etc. Advertised as veggie & vegan caff but noticed meat on menu too. Ok.

This definitely the best place in Norwich to have a coffee + breakfast/ brunch/ cake if you are out with kids! It has a special area with toys and books, and an amazing Montessori door that kept my 5 year-old boy busy for quite some time! Food is great, vegetarian options also available. We had a vegetarian breakfast with poached egg, avocado, grilled haloumi plus the classic staff ( mushrooms, beans, etc). Staff was very friendly, specially with kids... and there was fire at the fireplace, what else can you ask for? We love the cactus! This place is w trembly popular with families, so if you are without kids and looking for a calm quiet environment maybe this is not best option.

My partner and I love coming to Cactus for breakfast. They cater well for both his vegetarian dietary requirements and my hankering for bacon! We almost always have a full fry up and it’s never greasy.

The most expensive chips I've ever had over £3.. for the smallest ash tray / dipping tray size portion complete rip of can't believe you can even justify that a portion got more mayonnaise than chips!!!! spent £25 on 2 x sandwiches, 2x smallest ever portion of chips in the world, a wine and 1 beer. No way value for money felt ripped of the food was nice but no way enough for what is charged.. had to go to a kebab shop after as was still so hungry.. such a shame as you have a really nice old pub but I would never return or recommend because of the poor portions and rip of price.

Visité aquí esta semana por primera vez, la camarera muy miserable, no sonríe o no te hace mucha gracia, no por favor o gracias. El lugar parece que nunca se ha limpiado, así que me alegro de haber tomado una bebida ya que no hubiera querido comer aquí. El lugar no se parece en nada a las fotos de Tripadviser.

Lovely little bar. Great friendly staff. Interesting menu. Food was nicely presented and good quality. Liked the ambience, good background music which did not intrude. Good snacks also available.

Nos detuvimos aquí para almorzar en un día laborable, todo un poco boho adentro. Las mesas estaban limpias y el personal era amable. Usted pide su comida en el bar y el servicio fue razonablemente rápido. Tuve uno de los especiales que fue bueno. El único pequeño problema era que la cerveza no era particularmente gaseosa. En general, una buena comida y volvería de nuevo.

I was served perhaps the best BLT sandwich I have ever had, accompanied by a coffee. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing.

Chose this place of the off chance and were not disappointed. The food was lovely and very fresh. Very welcoming and will definatly visit again. 10/10

Amazingly fresh and great value for money. I always enjoy eating lunch or breakfast in my local cafe. My only small gripe is the toilets need a fresh coat of paint and/or a deep clean, you wouldn't want to change your baby on the shabby changing mat.

The waitress was unable to smile! Very miserable!! The furniture is beyond shabby and no chic about it!!! it needs throwing away. The owners should pop in to looses and buy some shabby chic arm chairs! Desserts are a bit pricey for what you get. We just wanted coffee and cake!

Lovely staff and fantastic food. Really nice atmosphere! Breakfast served until 3pm on Saturday which is great.

I regularly walk past this cafe and often see families sat in here. I popped in today and wasn't disappointed. Lovely friendly service. Fresh produce and delicious food all reasonably priced. Portion size generous Will defiantly be return and telling my friends to visit

Like others I've walked past & not called in, but today at lunchtime I thought I'd give it a go. I had a coffee & an avocado/mozzarella salad which comes with very nice ciabatta. both the coffee & salad were good, and I liked the relaxed atmosphere. There were several toddlers & babies around the corner from my table, made it feel homely. Would like to try the veggie chilli & some of the other veggie options so I'll be calling in again.

Great food and drink selection. All food freshly cooked and reasonably priced. A place where you can take your children and babies without worrying. You can even comfortably breastfeed. Furniture and chairs a little bit old and chaotically laid out for too many prams. Apart from that, perfect!

This place is awesome. Fantastic coffee at a good price, as well as soft drinks and draught beers. Food looked great, although I didnt eat. Very baby friendly but not so "creche like" that people who are without kids would mind. Obviously popular as constantly busy. Ended up staying hours and drinking many different coffees. A gem on Magdalen St. I shall cease to just walk by it!

I met my grandson and 19month great grandson here.What a great surprise so well equiped for children the furniture is not new but this does not matter.My family had toasted sandwiches that looked very tasty

Primera visita aquí y volveremos seguro. Es casi imposible en esta ciudad para encontrar un ambiente que es también han crecido los niños y ofrece comida encantadora; así que este café se siente como un tesoro escondido, sin duda encontrar un hueco en el mercado....

En primer lugar, para ver una mascota y familia lugar agradable como este. No tanto actualmente, pero con un poco pronto para estar aquí, es bueno saber que a una corta distancia a pie, hay un lugar que no importa los niños. . En realidad lo promueve. y todas las tonterías que traen con ellos, jajaja. Dicho esto, si no estás preparado para eso, o no se da cuenta de que este es un pro-familia, usted podría café doble su nariz en los ocasionales gritos, y de piensos para niños corriendo epocas (como yo de hecho testigos de jóvenes chicas de 20 cuando entramos por la puerta).

I've been there a few times and always had a good experience. Lovely fried breakfast with good vegetarian options. Also nice for a drink in the evening.

We were actually aiming for another restaurant down the same road, but passed this place and thought it looked very inviting, and a little quirky. It didn't disappoint, the cocktail I had involved cactus water and pomegranate seeds and was like a tasty snack and a drink all in one, and the food was amazing! We ordered a mix of olives, salad, dips and mozzarella sticks and enjoyed all of them. Staff were friendly, and the service relaxed in style but efficient! 5 starts :)

Cost and family friendly little cafe serving really good coffees and meals. We had some delicious cake and will be returning soon to try something off their interesting menu.

This was a really cute little place really high quality food Especially the pancakes! And eggs Benedict! Beautiful milkshakes too, all good value for money! Only think I thought was lacking was a bigger vegan options although the food my friend had was really good there was only a small choice. Maybe something to improve? But over all would definitely go again and recommend to others!

My partner and I call in quite regularly, either just for coffee, or for breakfast.It's not the fastest service for food but it's absolutely worth a bit of a wait for the perfectly cooked food you get. It's really high quality and good value and I'd rather read the paper and wait a while that get something fast and mediocre.

Stopped in 11.30am Monday for a coffee and wifi. Asked about the wifi before I ordered, was shown the password, which implied that it was functional. Paid for the coffee, connected momentarily to the wifi before hostname resolution stopped working, disconnected and tried to reconnect and it wouldn't DHCP at all. Bartender seemed much more interested in the mother and baby on the other side of the room than she was in helping me. She shrugged, reiterated that there was wifi, and when queried said that she didn't know where the antenna was. I gulped down the rest of my coffee and left. Waste of £1.90.

I love it here. It's got such a lovely relaxed feel about it. It's great to go with kids. There's loads of choice and a play area but you don't feel like you've gone out of your way to pick a 'kids' place!

Came to watch some live music with my family one evening. Such a cute and quaint venue. Great and friendly people, felt very warm and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone.

Stopped on the off chance as we were running late and we were hungry, I had the Greek salad and my wife had the tuna salad. Took 20 minutes to come, hence the missing star but was really nice, £5.90 for the Greek and £5.80 for the tuna.Would definitely come again.

This was the perfect place for me as I love cacti!! There's a lovely theme to this cafe, with great food. It's very authentic and very reasonably priced too.It has a full bar and great children's area too, however I didn't notice any children's menu.The only thing that really let this down was the staff. One staff member (potentially new) didn't smile once and the other lady isn't the most friendly and inviting either unfortunately.

I only had drinks here - though I had a nibble of the cake a frriend ordered, which was good! I came in the evening to hear live music, which apparently they put on quite regularly, and it was great. Almost like a café and a wine bar at the same time, whilst it also looked child friendly (I spotted a play area). Quite a feat!

Great value. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great for families. Serves alcohol. The menu ranges from homemade pancakes to cooked breakfast and superb salads. The homemade cakes are delicious. There is a small play area, high chair and changing facilities. Can't recommend highly enough.

Popped in on the off chance with my friend for a bite to eat around lunchtime. Wasn't sure what to expect - walked past many times as I live in the area but never thought to go in. But now I am SO glad I did! Such a lovely ambience, good large pot of tea that was delicious, and the homemade chips are absolutely gorgeous! Crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside, and they arrived with a nice little selection of homemade dips. My friend also had a pink lemonade that looked lovely!They also do 15% student discount which is a nice bonus.Will definitely come back again.

As well as serving passing trade and locals, Cactus caters particularly to students and families during the day, offering a 15% student discount and an area with children's toys and colourable wallpaper. It has a rather different vibe (more bar, less cafe) when it's open later on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There is often live music on these nights.I'm picky about my coffee, and in my opinion their cappuccinos are excellent. Tasty hot breakfasts and rolls are available till 3pm, and cold food (ciabatta sandwiches, salads, pancakes) all the time (I think). I've had the English Breakfast (under a fiver!) several times and it was always just right, with the bacon and eggs consistently well-cooked. Having also tasted a few of the ciabatta sandwiches, pancakes and fresh salads - plus the flavourful home-cooked chips - there was nothing I wouldn't happily order again. The service could sometimes be faster, particularly in busy periods - however this is a family-run venue, and the staff are friendly and very accommodating to special requests. The vibe is relaxed and it's a great place to hang out; quirky and very different from your typical cafe chain. I've ditched Costa and become a regular since discovering it.

Group of 8 people for breakfast (served all day).Cooked breakfast was nice- perfect to cure a hangover. 2 breakfasts, 1 tea, 1 latte and 1 smoothie came to £11.60- this was with 15% student discount so good value. However- Very slow service- waited about an hour for food, and then our meals were brought out one at a time. Had to ask for extra toast as we had not been given enough. Seemed to be only one waitress bringing out food who was also taking orders behind the bar.

My boyfriend and I visited Cactus on my lunch break for a coffee. I work at the end of Magdalen Street and Cactus is super close so it's in a nice convenient spot. James was eating in but I already had my lunch prepared. Firstly, this is not their fault, but their coffee machine wasn't working so we were unable to get a coffee which is why we went there anyway, so that was quite disappointing. But my partner had the Greek Salad and said that it was really delicious, especially the bread that they served in a little basket on the side. We were really impressed with the fantastic value - the whole menu was so reasonably priced and perfect for a quick lunch - we didn't try out all the dishes but you can't go wrong with their prices! One thing that really bugged me on my visit was that there were children playing musical instruments very loud, running around the cafe... I work in a primary school so that is not what I wanted on my lunch break AWAY from school. I'm not sure if these instruments were provided by the cafe, but it definitely took away the relaxation of what you expect in a coffee shop. Other than that, the staff were lovely, food came very quick, and coffee smelt good even though we couldn't try it! I will return again on a lunch break as it's the nicest cafe at that end of Magdalen Street.

Food is ok but there are better places in the city.Not sure if they know what angle they should come from as yet, maybe a relocation away from a run down area of the city would give it the boost it needed.
