Lovely pub, nice decor inside and out. Staff were great. Food was quickly served. We had the best roast dinner there today. *GF options were good too. Also the sweet was first class 😋 Will visit again.

Booked a table for a Sunday roast as we were in the area. I was looking forward to eating here after reading recent reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had Korean chicken to start - it was ok but quite small, considering it was £10. We had two pork roasts, wanted beef, but they had run out. The roast was average. It was edible and all cooked correctly, but it wasn't very tasty and not enough gravy. Sorry to say we wouldn't return.

Food is good. Atmosphere and décor is a bit odd, soulless and unwelcoming. Music was loud and not the type of music you would expect when you are eating and trying to talk. Horrified at the stemless wine glasses. That is enough to put me off ever going back. Like drinking out of a beaker, or a fruit juice glass. Another customer told me the pub said they were 'trendy' glasses. Please! I go out in London to 'trendy' bars and I don't drink wine from a beaker, ever.

Brother lives in the village and we always visit the fox on our visit to brother and his wife. Last visit was excellent after being slightly disappointed on previous visit Over all very good, little bit pricey, if we lived in lyng it would be more of a special occasions pub Very good though, would recommend a visit

Went to see a band.Never been here before and wow what a beautiful place.Resturant,band area,undercover seats as well as in the garden and street food once a week.All this set in a beautiful village!! Will definitely coming here in the future.

I organised a surprise afternoon tea for my daughter with family and friends. The staff were so helpful and the food was delicious. We were given a private room which was perfect. Definitely excellent value and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Fox for private parties.

The trip along narrow country lanes was well worth the adventure to arrive at the Fox at Lyng, where a warm welcome awaited us. We sat in the pleasant beer garden first opposite the church. The arrival of several tractors in the car park as part of a family celebration just added to the sense that we were in the middle of Norfolk in the countryside! The selection of beers was good and the sunday lunches were well cooked, tasted delicious and satisfied our appetites. This is a great pub, with great service and so we will certainly return.

Just a big thankyou to all the staff at the Fox for putting on a wonderfully 60th birthday party for my wife. They catered for 53 and the food was lovely and plentiful. Vikki and team couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend for an event or meal. We will definitely be back. Thanks Vikki. X

Monday food night is the best. Lovely pub garden

Nice pub, nice location, nice staff. Food was nice enough. Stage in the garden and weekly street food truck so they are putting the effort in to make a great pub, looses a star for no cask beer for me

We visited on a Monday night after a long drive looking for some chips. Unfortunately they don’t serve food on a Monday night but directed us to the street food van outside. 1 van was duck wraps which is not our thing and the other van was cake which is always our thing. We ordered the stuffed biscoff cookie, warm with custard. We would take the 3 hour journey again just for this cookie. Pub was bright, spacious and had lots of seating available outside. Had soft drinks and Can’t rate their food as they sadly weren’t serving.

Stopped for a drink whilst on a bike ride. Lovely staff, good variety of drinks. Lovely garden.

Had a Sunday lunch here with ma mum. It was lovely, busy enough to enjoy the atmosphere and the food was well prepared. Didn’t have to wait long but long enough to know it was freshly prepared. As long as you expect good quality food and a nice atmosphere then you won’t be disappointed. Interestingly they do various good nights in the week, so keen to get down and try those out for something a bit different than the usual pub grub. Definitely a good place for families or days out with the parents. Not a date spot though.

Lovely pub, massive beer garden and great beer

We went for a lunch on a Tuesday and couldn't believe how quiet and devoid of customers it was. Couldn't fault the food though.

Found this place online as we are not from the area. Booked a table (for the same night) online which was really easy and the confirmation even had a link for directions. The place is nicely decorated and had a good feel. We both had a starter and main we were planning on desert as they looked really good, but couldn't do it. The portions are a good size. The food and service was excellent, the best we have had for quite some time. It's a very good menu with something a little different in a good way. We are planning to go back if we have time whilst in the area.

Had a fantastic meal - we turned up last minute and was found a table and was made to feel very welcome. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu has a great selection for everyone including vegetarians . We thoroughly recommend and can’t wait to come back as we didn’t have room for dessert but they sounded so yummy!!!!

The food was nice. Not a huge amount of vg/v options, the menu is very limited. The menu on the website hasn't been updated for over 2 weeks, so when we arrived the menu was completely different. The coffee was awful. Nice pub all round, would visit again, but won't be ordering a coffee that's for sure.

I went to the Fox on my own (well, with my dog), as a treat to myself, as my other half was playing golf and having his main meal elsewhere. The service was really friendly, wine was lovely, and my meal of chicken in parmsan crust was wonderful. I'm lucky that I live within staggering distance, so no driving necessary. I'm not in the habit of going to pubs on my own, but I've done this in the Fox before and always had a friendly welcome, chatted with other guests and felt completely comfortable. I'm not sure that I would feel that way in all pubs. The menu seemed more affordable too....I was impressed by the 'smaller appetites' section, which seemed to include a burger and fries for a great price. Great for a light meal or a children's meal that is more adult than usual. They do live music regularly, so I'm intending to go along soon for that.

A proper local pub with fantastic atmosphere, staff and food. We are looking forward to returning and enjoying 1 of the many street food vans they have to offer throughout the year

The Fox is such a special, charming pub in a lovely location. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and kind. I have visited numerous times. The menu features pub classics, burgers, on the day specials and desserts. Excellent value for money. I love the roasts! Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! They use the freshest local ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. Amazing from start to finish! 🍽🙌

Been for the first time today on a works Christmas dinner, had a fantastic time. The food was amazing, brought out in good time and perfectly cooked. The drinks were first class. Thoroughly recommend and will be returning again.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and Rachael our waitress was probably one of the best and nicest waitresses we have had in a long time. Menu and specials choices were good, perfect size portions and great quality- couldn’t fault it.

Very nice food, served by very nice people, highly recommended. There was quite a wait for it but they may have been understaffed. This did not detract from the quality of the food or pleasant manner of the staff. I would definitely go again.

Everything about this place is amazing. The warm welcome, excellent food, and wonderful service have made The Fox a firm favourite for us! You can tell there are a lot of customers who are regular visitors, which gives a great first impression. We will definitely be back!

I entered the front door to see a dog sitting up at table eating dinner .It really is taking English love of dogs to far .Dogs lick their bits enough said .Then barlady tried to pass off a bourbon as a whiskey. Probaly alright if it's only pub in village but get rid of the dog from the table .i have edited my review upwards as the reply re the whiskey/ bourbon question could have been a cultural mistake on my part and I should have asked for Scotch specifically instead of the generic whiskey I requested . I stand by the dog sitting up at the table eating dinner with the guests as immediately off putting . The people looked like locals and I wonder if it’s common practice .

My wife and I called in this evening for a meal and it was amazingly good absolutely delicious one of the best meals out we have had in a long time , highly recommended

A wonderful warm welcome on a cold rainy night, beautiful pub and a speedy service from the lovely friendly team. Food and drink was all delicious and topped off with jelly babies when we paid! Super happy and will definitely be returning.

Visited with my Mum for an evening meal. We were served by Rachel, who was very welcoming, cheerful and very helpful with the menu. Rachel went out of her way to look after us and I must say, her great service was the best I've come across in a long time. We had a very tasty burger and Mum enjoyed a very delicious looking dessert. Overall, a really lovely evening. A big thank you to Rachel. Would highly recommend.

We booked in advance. This was my 50th birthday surprise. No space in the car park. We arrived the pub was bustling. Table service we didn't get any!! Ordered at the bar. Drinks were quick. Had to wait a while for starter. Which I had garlic mushrooms. Ciabatta was very soggy & doughy. When waitress came I asked is it always this busy she said online system failed meant to stagger people but booked them all in at once. It was LOUD VERY LOUD. Main was cold if you are not a big eater. Half a carrot half a parsnip 2 roast potatoes tiny I mean TINY cauliflower cheese. Pudding was lush

Just popped in for a quick drink at this popular Village Pub, obviously well supported by local community.

Went here for Sunday carvery. Quite busy but friendly atmosphere and service. Food was good, although couple of thoughts. The pork was OK but not the best quality id ever had, and also having pickled red cabbage on the plate was just weird - to be enjoying a nice roast potato and then get a big hit of vinegar is just wrong im afraid. But was really nice and would go again.

The nicest food we've had and the staff were so accommodating for our sons. Especially as its difficult to eat out as our eldest has an eating disorder. It was really nice to be able to relax and know that he was happy too. Nothing was too much and I'd love to visit again.

Good food Good service only remember there is large car park at the rear of the pub .

I had their biggest burger. Was okay. As a personal opinion the chilli didn't work, way too many kidney beans and had no chilli spice taste to it. Bacon had way to much fat. 7 out of 10 I think

Very friendly service and dog friendly, freshly Prepared food and good selection. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was not packed but was fairly busy. Did not have to wait too long for the food and the local beers were very nice.

Was slightly worried before visiting by the recent negative press on Tripadvisor but I really shouldn’t have worried! Infact I seriously cannot understand the negative reviews at all! I had the pleasure of eating at The Fox back in August and from the moment I saw the food I knew I’d chosen the right pub. Portions were pretty ginormous which is an instant win for me. Love lots of food! The menu here is also so large and there was numerous things I could’ve chosen. I had the Oozy Fox Burger. The burger was delicious and definitely oozing; the fries that accompanied were also scrumptious. The onion rings we had as a side were super tasty, hand battered and crispy. The dessert was coffee creme brûlée and was also good, maybe a little bit thick in texture for a brûlée, but nevertheless it was yummy. The service was impeccable from start to finish, the man who sat us down and served us most of the time was super friendly and chill. Very accommodating! The atmosphere was also lovely (we chose to sit in the old area of the pub as this has a cute and cosy feel). Not the cheapest of pubs and restaurants but it’s definitely worth every penny and I’d recommend to anyone who’s staying nearby as it was an all round fantastic place. Would definitely come again if I’m in the area!

Had lunch at the Fox. The pub is very nice and friendly service. The appetisers were good and my partners food was ok. But I’ve got to say i had the chicken burger. It was the worse burger & chips I’ve ever had.

Just to say thanks to Victoria and her team for going the extra mile on our wedding day . All the staff were fantastic and the day flowed from one event to the next seamlessly . The place looked fantastic and tables was a wow . The food came out and all I heard all evening apart from congratulations ,was the food was fantastic and could not be faulted . As it was a warm day we was asked if we would like the disco outside so we did again people danced all night as the hot buffet food was handed out by the team and the drinks flowed . Many thanks for all your hard work and dedication in running the fox , the village has a pub to be proud of.

We went to The Fox on a recommendation that they have good vegan options, however there were only two vegan mains on the menu. I opted for the vegan jambalaya which was under-seasoned and had a sloppy texture. We had the caramelised olives as a starter as they seemed like a novelty but they tasted horrible, like someone had just poured sugar into a jar of olives. They were served with hard cubes of butter and some very small pieces of bread (we asked for more bread). The waitress spilled two of the drinks all over the menu and table and said she’d return with some blue roll to clean it up but never came back, so we had to use our napkins, which weren’t replaced. The halloumi starter was served with pomegranate seeds and lots of mayonnaise, which was too much. When the starters were served the waitress unceremoniously dumped extra cutlery in the middle of the table. The lasagna main was watery. By the end of the meal the table was absolutely crawling with flies.

Friendly staff good choice of food on menu. Food was very tasty well presented and all homemade which goes along way these days. Reasonable prices would recommend this place but advise to book as can get busy. Almost certainly will visit again

Steak pie was reasonable however Korean chicken burger was virtually inedible. Not great food overall.👎

We came for lunch today and ordered roast beef. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and the order was taken promptly and drinks served When our plates came they weren’t heated therefore the food theron was luke warm and disappointing as the vegetables were nicely cooked just not up to temperature. I guessed by the fact no cloths were needed to bring the food from kitchen to protect hands. The beef was hard to cut and took a while to cut pieces off the slices as it was very tough. One of us had to leave most of their meat due to this. Such a shame as the presentation and vegetables were all looking good. When we spoke to nearby diners they said they found theirs was tough and only warm. The ambience in the far room was very nice and the decorations tasteful just a shame about the food

Delicious roast Sunday dinner, decent portion and tasty food. The veg was delicious and NOT swimming in water, the beef was melt in the mouth delicious and all reasonably priced. We had dessert which was scrummy. We're only here for a week but I'm sure we'll go back again.

Came here for dinner and drinks with the in laws. Was shown and sat down by what we thought may be the manager, sat us down and never came back! Then along came Rachel, our server for the evening, had chosen what we all wanted to eat, 2 of those things were not available, disappointing, the man that sat us down should of Informed us as to what was missing off the menu but didn't, hence why we were disappointed as we didn't know, HOWEVER, Rachel apologised profusely, (she really didn't have to, as it wasn't her fault!) We then proceeded to order other stuff, food was amazing! Service (all thanks to Rachel) was fabulous! Would of left a tip but she finished her shift before we got a chance to. Would 100% go back just to see Rachel. Fab lady, she deserves ALL THE TIPS! ❤️❤️❤️

Probably the best Sunday roast i have ever had. Absolute thought has gone into how the food is served. Even the complimentary horse radish was damn amazing. The setting, the crockery and service was probably the best I've experienced. Whoever owns or runs this pub should be proud.

As always the fox at lyng never fails to impress. The food is fresh and tastes great. The environment is friendly and the hosts make you feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. Separate eating and drinking area so everyone is happy. Couldn’t recommend this place more...

First visit here, found it on my Spree app. Loads of parking, clean spacious pub, with beautiful old beams. The barman who took our food order as well was really jolly and attentive. I opted for calf’s liver and my wife had the falafel burger....
