Absolutely great food, filling beyond belief Could do with some healthy options on the menu especially the starter menu. A bit understaffed but still great service.

Absolutely wonderful roast dinner, went for the pork which came with crackling and all the sides including a yorkie. Delicious. Service was great, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend but booking is a must for Sunday lunch

My favourite go to place for excellent food, attentive staff and very dog friendly bar area. Had the peppered steak and tagliatelli special last night PERFECT plate. Tender steak and creamy pasta. The staff are a credit to the place. LOVE coming here!!

Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. I chose this place because it is meant to be a grillhouse. My fault that I didn't check the menu first as it was shocking for a so-called grillhouse. I had the ribs, which were very rubbery and I had to fight to get the meat off the bone. The sauce wasn't good at all. The wife had the steak pie but it was too salty to eat. The waitress said the chef tried it and even agreed, but we were not offered an alternative or a refund. We will not be going back.

Great Food from Exciting menu with varied choice of lagers & cider but this place is so special due to the young girls waiting on her we’re very professional & bubbly giving the restaurant a wonderful atmosphere. Gammon best I’ve had all year & loved the Local lager. Loved the Sweet Treety table for 2 & 4 Legged Guests. 👍 🐶 Look fwd coming back next year

Staying locally and recommended a visit. Had lovely meal, fish and chips, chicken and bacon carbonara… both very tasty and great portion size, we will return. Large dining room, we sat in front bar as we had a dog who was welcomed by staff, all great deffo recommend. Beer garden as well and large car park

The Food was ok . Average . We ask for cranberry juice and come in small whiskey glass plus the main course was Steak pie ( very small portion for the price 14,50£ ) .

Wonderful beef Sunday roast dinners for two. Fantastically cooked, with large Yorkshire puddings and accompanying red cabbage and vegetables. Always have a scrumptious meal in The Lodge. Recommended!

Very unfortunate as our latest visit to this previously 5 star venue was a huge disappointment. Maybe a different chef, but the food was generally dry and incredibly salty. Given we’ve now had two quite opposite experiences I can no longer recommend this venue for fear of regret.

So glad we found this place. The welcome was friendly. The bar area is really fun. The restaurant is very smart. The service is friendly and helpful. The drink selection is great. The food is fabulous – my Halloumi & Chips was one of the best things I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back.

Not a great place to go and eat the menu is poor with not much variety. In my opinion the food is not worth the money spent on it. We went as a group of 5 and 4 of us all had a dodgy belly the following day. 1 person hardly touched his dinner and left hungry. Rather small inside tables close together. First time going and definitely wont be going back.

The food is sensational. The ‘You Got Beef’ burger is ridiculously tasty (a burger buried under beef brisket and Marmite beef gravy!?!?!!) and I loved the Sticky Korean Ribs, In hindsight the Sticky Toffee Pudding could have done with a bit more sauce but I had scoffed it all down before I could discuss this with one of the very attentive and considerate staff. Good portion sizes and you definitely get what you pay for. Very highly recommended and will definitely go back.

Fantastic from start to finish. Group of 18 of us, all seated and served amazing food, including 6 vegan meals. Way less expensive than I’d guessed. Would 100% recommend and visit again if in the area.

Lovely Sunday roast with great selection of veg, great roasties, large yorkshire. Completed with lovelyapple crumble and a cup of tea.

Met up with a dear friend who lives in Dereham and is a regular in the restaurant. I’m sure that the servers would still have been as friendly and professional if we’d come alone. Having had a large lunch we went straight for the mains. I asked for my ribeye to be cooked medium rare and it was done to perfection. Nicely served with tomato and mushroom and a lot of chips. Sue had the vegetarian lasagne which she absolutely loved. Finished off with ice cream and sorbet it was a delightful evening. Absolutely recommended and great value for money too.

Highly recommended. We had a lovely birthday celebration here, with a table for 6. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was delicious with very generous portions. Prices are standard for pub/restaurants. We'll definitely return.

Had a brilliant lunch today what been organised for the last couple of week for a surprise birthday for mum, the staff have been brilliant have help me with every need I have ask and even set the room up for me and it look perfect, the timing with mum coming in and when we got the food was perfect all our meal look and tasted amazing, I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff that has been involved you help me massively and made it lot less stressful for my self and made the surprise the best I could every though it could be so thank you Jade

Been to this restaurant a few times over the years with family &friends not sure what has happened we have been so disappointed the last 2 times Our meals were so long coming .The burgers were dry and cold .The pie the meat was so tough .No we didn't complain as we complained the last time to the waitress she gave no satisfactory explanation. So didn't bother this time just left (no sweet )

Always remembers I'm gluten free when ever i visit, never have to remind them, never had any issues with gluten contaminations. Food is lovely, service excellent this is why we keep going back. Highly recommend

Amazing place, came here at short notice after being offered sandwiches only at The George in Dereham despite booking ahead. Arrived at the Lodge in a bad mood that was reversed by the great staff and service coupled with the amazing food!!! Highly recommended!!!

Lovely Sunday Roast. Booked online via booking system. But unfortunately our table was not in the Restaurant Room, but in the bar, right next to the door which caused a cold draft as other customers did not close the door behind them, so had to keep getting up to close the door (had to keep coats on whilst eating our meals)

A married couple travelling to the East Coast, Dereham was the mid-point so we dropped in at The Lodge. Immediately we were struck by how clean and tidy the place is. Despite it being a Tuesday lunchtime, we were served quickly and shown to a table by a very knowledgeable and pleasant young lady, who took our drinks and food orders efficiently. We were slightly dismayed to note there are no light-bites or a lunchtime menu on offer, it's full-size dinner portions only. We hoped it wouldn't spoil our dinner booking later... The food took a few minutes to arrive, but it was obvious both chef and staff are very proud of their product as the food was beautifully prepared and ate every bit as well as it looked. Your reviewer had the vegetable lasagne while my wife had the chicken tempura. The bill reflected both the portion sizes and the quality; this is no bad thing, it's reassuring to be asked to pay for quality like this. Go here for excellent food a with good friendly service, but do ensure it's your only main meal of the day.

Dropped in for lunchtime eats on our way to East Coast. Food was beautifully prepared and presented. Be aware there are no light bites or snack menu, it's all full plate dishes.

Great food excellent service. Nothing was to much trouble. We were sat in the bar area as we had our dog with us. They even cooked some chicken for our dog so that she could have some food with us.

Sunday roast for party of four, beef was lovely and tender with fresh sides, all agreed it was excellent food. Service is prompt polite and timely, we will certainly be returning.

Very popular 'local to me' restaurant and pub. Great atmosphere sometimes a little noisy, never silent and dead like some places. Food is great especially the steak which has so much flavour I often do not eat the sauce and find I have finished the steak long before the rest of the plate. On this occasion I had sweet chilli sauce wings, rack of ribs and creme brulee, the rack was big! . Other choices are also great with the only problem being which item to choose from the menu. I really struggle to eat three courses here as the portions are generous and delicious meaning sometimes you just can't leave space for desert. I find it good value and good service, never rushed but with we'll timed visits from serving staff. The parking is easy with a generous well surfaced car park and no big puddles in the rain. There is also a shop here but I have never been in as its closed in the evening. Location is close to the A47 on the quiet 'B1147' road from Dereham to Lying, just a mile or two outside Dereham, Norfolk. I recommend phone ahead and book a table.

Have not been able to go out for Sunday roast in months. We went to The Lodge at Tuddenham today. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We both had roast. Pork was very lovely but the beef was brilliant. Difficult joint to get right, this was tender, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. 6 different veg not incl the roasts and mash. Large Yorkshire, we are both so full. Really wish I could make gravy like you guys do, was faultless So glad we booked as you were packed out. Meal was piping hot and delivered timely. Could not ask for more. Highly recommended.

We brought our Nan here for her birthday on a Sunday as she loves having a roast dinner! I don’t usually write reviews but I had to come on here just to mention how fantastic it was. The roast dinner was the best we have eaten out and the staff were so lovely. We are local and hadn’t been here before today, but we spent our car journey home deciding what to eat on our next visit! Thank you for making our Nan’s day so wonderful :)

A sign of a great meal is when all plates are clear, and this is exactly what to expect here. The ribs are to die for, burgers are brilliant, and the veggie curry is full of flavour. Wide selection of dessert. Creme brule is my favourite. Great atmosphere and tables nicely spaced. Dog friendly bar area and free parking.

Had a lovely meal with my wife as it was her 40th birthday. What can I say? Staff was very polite couldn’t help much more if they tried, The food was absolutely amazing cooked with perfection not a fault with anything and lemon cheesecake was yummmmmmy! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff behind the bar. Shown to our table right away and menu/specials explained. Restaurant was busy but food came out promptly and hot, the steak pie was AMAZING! Would go back just for that. Only criticism would be the nachos starter, paid extra £4 for pulled pork on top and got about 2 teaspoons of pulled pork. Other than that the evening was really good.

Three adults and the dog went for lunch, late July 2023. The range of meals was very good, with a choice of sides. No starters were needed, two lasagnas, one with garlic bread and one with fries. Both cooked well and tasty I had Lodge-style chicken with fries and mushrooms. Really nice taste and well presented. Just one dessert, with 3 styles of ice cream. Drinks prices are very reasonable. A great last-minute place to go. Only 10 minutes from where we live Decor nice and bright

Amazing food and lovely atmosphere. We have been going there for several years and its always a pleasure to eat there. The food is diverse and can be bespoke should your dietry requirements require it. The waiters were all brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks.

Went with friends as been a few weeks before and had a lovely meal but unfortunately this time ordered the wrong thing .. chilli .. sounded lovely on the menu and said spicy .. sorry but was terrible . More sweet than spicy and had baked beans in .. was like mush .. like out of a tin !!! Did speak to the waiter who was very polite but clearly the chef didn’t agree and said I was wrong !!

Went for lunch today with mum and sister, we were marking the 1st anniversary since dad had passed. Service was very good, friendl, attentive and even asked if any of us had food allergies, which was nice to hear. The food was really nice, I had a burger which is one of the best I have ever had. Sister had the veggie pie which she really enjoyed and mum had the lodge chicken, which she loved although it was a bit too much for her to finish :-) Overall a very enjoyable experience. Not the cheapest prices, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. We haven't eaten here in many years and wouldn't hesitate to go back again soon. Highly recommended.

Popped into the Lodge for lunch. Very nice decor and garden . Staff very friendly, chatty and welcoming to us and our dog and the food was good . Would definitely recommend a visit.

We came here a few times for lunch, never had a bad meal and very generous portions! Would recommend sharing your pudding, the bread and butter pudding was like the size of a brick. Very yummy! Staff are always friendly.

We had the most delicious food and drink here last night. The atmosphere was relaxed, service fabulous and food delicious. Highly recommend. This was my first visit and I will definitely be returning.

What a great find. Friendly staff, fantastic food and comfortable. There is a shop attached that sells Frenchic paint (bought a tin for my garden chair)and also wedding reception accessory hire. A good addition to the business.

Had a lovely dinner here last night. Served by two women, one named Zoe and didnt catch the others name unfortunately but both were wonderful. Will come back
