The food was very nice and good service. My wife needs gluten free and was told it was, but she was ill in the evening, so not sure if it was that or something else

We called in after having spent a morning walking a trail near the town. Even though it was nearly 3pm they made us a fresh pizza - half of it without cheese for my son who dislikes cheese! Pizza was really really good - proper Italian style 👌🏻🍕

Walked in and the place was empty apart from 3 pensioners, asked for 3 carverys and was told, weve ran out of carverys and the chef isnt cooking anything else. Worst pub ive ever been in. Wont go back

Food was good and came.out quickly. Just think that the person behind the bar had no people skills, just seemed miserable. Created a wierd atmosphere.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Nice surroundings. Very good service and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a roast dinner and a pint. £18.15 later All I can say is it’s hardly surprising the place is struggling. I won’t be popping in again.

A lovely hour spent outside with an excellent stone baked pizza. The lady who served me was very friendly and helpful. It’s also worth saying that the pub is immaculately maintained with a great decor.

Was there last night for their monthly quiz night. Great fun as always, good food and drink and always make you feel welcome.

Nicely decorated pub, good food but the menu is a bit limited. Would visit more often but the pub is not dog friendly, dogs are only allowed in the garden and not sure why as other pubs in Dereham that do food (like the Gemini) allow and actively welcome dogs.

Visited the place for a stone baked veg pizza. Limited on toppings but the owners were considerate enough to make up one with whatever they had. Service was good and pizza was reasonable.

Limited menu, burgers and pizza mainly. What we had was OK. Staff friendly

Visited for the first time last night for the Cheese and Wine Tasting night. I went alone but was greeted with a warm, friendly welcome and a fabulous informative evening followed. John was very knowledgable and funny but without the hard sell. Great value for money and was able to purchase some fabulous quality wine. Will definitely be visiting Hayley and Graham again for a drink and a meal, as well as to re-stock my wine rack!

Welll the food was excellent and at a very good price, the bar staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful, would l come here again very much so and look forward to it

We visited The Coachmakers with our family who live nearby and we had the most amazing meal and a fabulous evening. We have been here before and over time the pub has undergone a really classy refurbishment resulting in what I consider to be a very high quality venue. Since our last visit there has been a very welcomed addition of a rather lovely “Wine Boutique” where I discovered a vast array of various high quality wines perfectly chilled and ready to either take out or drink in. My God I was like a little kid in a sweet shop! I managed to try 3 of the rosé’s (with a little help from my mother-in-law) and all were outstanding without exception. It would have been rude not to buy a selection to take home which of course I duly did. In between the wine, we all had a fantastic meal; my sirloin steak was a good size, extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. The rest of the family had nothing but good things to say about their meals, in fact my husband commented that his peri peri chicken was much better than Nando’s and double the size! My only regret is that we don’t live nearer this superb venue and if you are lucky enough to live nearby or are passing through, I urge you to pay it a visit, I can assure you that you won’t regret it! Thanks so much for such a lovely evening (and for delivering the wine) and we look forward to returning soon.

Just had a superb curry and an excellent pizza at the Coachmakers. All properly controlled and sanitized for the COVID World but still with the splendid hospitality of Graham & Hayley. Highly recommended!

I really have to write this review today as I feel we should have come back and visited before we came home (but we did leave our camp site early) We arrived at our campsite in the pouring rain, but up our tent and I was cold and really hungry... We walked into the Coachmakers Arms and were so glad we did! The lady serving us was sympathetic and even dried our soaking wet clothes - socks and my sons and directed my husband to the nearest Tesco so we could buy replacements. She didnt rush us to decide our food even though my husband took an age in Tesco!! Our food was so lovely and much needed. The price is certainly good value for what we got and my son was chuffed he got to take the rest of his pizza home in a cool box (his words!) Couldn't thank the lady enough - just sorry we didn't go back again!

Amazing food, they are running a limited menu but its worth it. Lots of space, great service and a good atmosphere. Will definitely go again

Was staying for a short break in Dereham and visited this pub for food. Have to say the food was lovely and the hosts were very friendly

Visited as a party of 4 for lunch. Food was excellent we had steak pies and a steak. All very good. The desert was amazing, bread and butter pudding like your mum would have made. Staff were very good too, very friendly and a good sense of humour. Definitely Worth a visit.

Popped in on a Sunday on the off chance of having a roast dinner. We hadn't booked but they were happy to accommodate us. Excellent roast beef dinner with plenty of veg. Definitely recommend but would strongly advise booking ahead to make sure.

We decided to take up the Friday night steak offer, to be honest at the price they charge on a Friday night you could not go too far wrongWe booked a table for three and arrived on time Park night is easy with a car park to the rear a small garden area to either side of the back door it all looked clean tidy and well kept.We ordered drinks at the bar and went to our table, the steaks we ordered were cooked as we wanted ( one needed to be very well done) something many chefs seem unable to do , but the customer is always right and if that’s how I want my steak who is the chef not to cook it the way I want it! the steaks were really good and whilst the offer is only for steak and chips you can of course add a number of side orders if you want them. The third member of our party had the scampi but there are plenty of other things on the menu.We had three desserts my chocolate sponge with chocolate sauce and custard was really light and tasty without being too sweet, the profiteroles looked good but I wasn’t offered one to try, but the plate was cleared so they must have been good!Where the title, the coachmakers offers good food at a sensible price and yet the place was not busy come on, we need to support local businesses and at the price of the Friday steak night the place should be full to the rafters. I’m sure you will receive a warm welcome and the food really is good

Graham & Hayley run a fantastic Steak Night each Friday evening. Stunning Steak & Chips at an amazing price, delivered with very friendly hospitality. They offer a great Chilean red and a fine pint of of beautifully kept draught Guinness. If you want a great steak around Dereham, the Coachmakers Arms IS the ONLY place to go.

Once again a lovely meal very good prices .all cooked fresh .friendly service .not overly busy so not noisy like some other pubs .would definately reccomend it xx

Declare an interest this is our closest pub, but how lucky we are. Graham cooks some of the best food you can get anywhere and with meat supplied by Swanton Morley butchers you get the best. Steaks here are as good as the fancy restaurants in Norwich and if you fancy something else try his pies, omelette or pizza from his special oven. Good range of drinks with two real ales from Lacons and beautiful decorations. You will not be disappointed.

Very good meal and service. Will certainly visit again. As its our local its nice to be able to stroll to the pub, our first visit since refurbishhment which is very well done.

Called here today for a get together with friends. The premises are really nice with friendly host and excellent service. We had a very relaxed meal and there was a really nice selection of things to eat. The food was very well cooked and was served piping hot, my curry was very tasty and served with well cooked rice and poppadoms. my wife and our friends had the chicken and mushroom pie, and these looked really lovely when they arrived, they looked really appetising. They said the pie was really good and we all enjoyed our meals. The food was well presented and tasty. This pub is well worth a visit if you are in Dereham and we will go again.

Just dropped in for some lunch with my daughter. Ordered the Coachmakers burger and chips, she had the ham and mushroom Tagliatelle.The presentation of the burger was desperate, it looked like a burger you get at a greasy spoon. It lacked that green lettuce peaking out, fresh tomato on show look that Burger King have spent so much money on capturing. No side salad, no “eat me” factor.My daughters Tagliatelle did look more promising but it was completely tasteless.It lacked even a bit of salt to enhance it.I received money back for the burger which I just couldn’t get inspired to eat but my daughter ate her Tagliatelle.It would help explain why the pub was virtually empty that lunchtime.

Good food good beer and nice hosts

We had dinner at this local pub with my wife’s parents. The food was tasty and excellently prepared, the local beer was great and the service was friendly. It’s only a shame this hidden gem of value is not frequented by more patrons!

We booked here for a Sunday lunch before the Polar Express. 6 adults and 2 children.

This was our first night at Norfolk and stopped at this nice pub, because it was on our way. Excellent choice, because the food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We will definitely visit it again. We had tagliatelle and cannelloni, soda and orange juice.

Stopped by to taste their pizza. And we really enjoyed it. We had mushroom with rocket, and it was nice and soft, and cooked really well. Next time we will try their food. But we did see the menu, and definitely going back to try it. The owner was kind, and made you feel comfortable.

The Coachmakers is a mix of elegant pub and a modern romantic restaurant. Amazing people. The food is absolutely 100% excellent.

We just drop in this nice PUB because outside there was a blackboard advertising a PIZZA. The Pub is spot less. There is a lot of space in between the table and the lady serving us very friendly. She had time to have a chat. Haley make you feel at home. We order 2 pizzas and 2 Stella Artois. Excellent. Haley told us they serve Sunday Roast on Sunday too. We will go back for it. Recently visited in a small group on a Sunday afternoon and we just popped in for a nice pint of Lacon's ale.All 5 of us are CAMRA members. There were only two ales on offer but both of good quality and served from the barrel.

Had a splendid Burns Night on 25 January with a lovely group wonderfully hosted by Graham & Haley. Glad we went!

Nice little cafe pub, though empty on a Friday lunchtime which is a shame. Nice beer, well kept, and splendid steak and kidney 'pie' (puff pastry top on a portion of steak and kidney). Nice though. Friendly landlord and landlady too. :-)

We booked the Coachmakers to celebrate our daughters engagement having had an amazing Sunday lunch there. We decided this was the perfect imitate place. The food, atmosphere & service was second to none. Everything was freshly cooked, plentiful, hot & of high quality served with a smile.

Visited for the first time this lunchtime as my friends and myself like to support local business. We all ordered Steak and Kidney pies which were delicious along with chips of a high standard and mash. All served with a very tasty, thick gravy. The service was very good and the hosts very welcoming. We will be letting others know and will be visiting again. Reasonable price and good portions.

Friendly gal behind the bar, only ales on offer were ones I don't like, no bottles of decent beer, but saving grace they had a Cornish lager that was really good, surprised how good! If you have a dog don't go there, not welcome at All, pouring down no customers at all and "no sorry no dogs" so stood at the back door with pint under the bit of cover the smokers Use, overall a nice pub, nice friendly staff, rubbish ales, no bottles of ale or anything like it, better off going to the kings head. I gave 4 stars purely for the Cornish lager and staff.

Visited this pub three times in a week. Great food lovely and hot good quality food. Puddings to die for. We would love to come back again if in the area. Can only recommend people to give it a try.

Booked a coach in 20 minutes before arrival more than happy to accommodate a large group food was of a high standard and the group said the beer was very good recomend this to other coach drivers looking for somewhere to go for a food and drink stop

My wife and I were meeting our son and his girlfriend halfway between our home and where he had been staying for the weekend. This was just a quick catch-up and lunch. Dereham was half way and the Coachmakers looked the part - all day food, proper beer, car park.

Had a meal here this evening, the food was freshly cooked and delicious, not a large choice but we have booked for Sunday lunch as we received a wonderful welcome and we both enjoyed the meal.

We have eaten at the Coachmakers a number of times now and have never been disappointed. Everything is freshly prepared and service is always with a smile. Would especially recommend the Sunday roast, but make certain you are hungry.

The Coachmakers is away from the centre of Dereham with a great catchment area because of this so it was great news when they had the kitchen refurbished and expanded their food offering last year.

Excellent steak perfectly cooked, reasonable prices, burgers taste a bit like fast food type. Puddings are the let down, two different puds, both tasteless. They need to get more people in the pub as it has zero atmosphere.

The coachmakers arms hosted my surprise graduation party and put on an amazing buffet, the food was to die for and the staff were so accommodating thank you so much for making it so special

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. 1st visit to this lovely pub. Very quiet so service excellent. Small menu but enough choice. Food was lovely. Would be a nice place for a special meal/occasion.

Warm friendly welcome. Smooth Guinness.. Toothsome Coachmakers Cheeseburger and Tasty Tagliatelle! The Italian Hot Chocolate was lots of lovely hot chocolate. Warm decor and cosy music. Going back!

I've been meaning to pop in here for a while and wished I'd done so sooner.

The coahmakers arms in my opinion is all first class service is top class no Conplaints I and friends have been just twice but won't hesitate to make it a regular eating place give it a try I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

We often travel up to norfolk from London on a weekend and we stumbled across the coachmakers. We have always been welcomed warmly and now always have to make sure we have our traditional Sunday roast at the coachmakers. The food is freshly cooked. The meat is locally sourced which adds to the flavour. Without a doubt the best roast in town.

Fantastic quality food and service. Huge portions and a good selection on the menu. Highly recommend the Piti Piti half chicken followed by the malt easer cake!!!! Great value for money and worth the journey.
