Lovely meal here this afternoon, we were just passing through as staying elsewhere in the Cotswolds. Very warm welcome, great service and a delicious meal, very busy but the quality of food and service were not compromised couldn’t ask for more. Thank you

Wow ! What an outstanding place. We were warmly welcomed by the staff who were lovely. The pub is very traditional inside and warm and cosy. Our meal was delicious we had the Scotch Egg for starter, fish and chips ( very generous portion size) and apple crumble, the crumble on top was out of this world so crunchy & hubby had sticky toffee pudding his favourite but this one was different than others he has had before, you’ll know what I mean if you try it yourself. Overall we had a wonderful evening and wasn’t rushed through our meal. Parking is easy as there is a large car park across the road ( free after 6pm ) We highly recommend you try The Bell you won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was delicious, from Sunday roasts, to fish pie, to fish and chips. The side of cauliflower cheese is possibly the best i have ever tasted. Desserts were delicious too. Excellent, friendly service and atmosphere with log burning fire was perfect. When back in The Cotswolds I will definitely return.

Never been before.It was a lovely place.Lovely menu.Staff friendly.It was quiet due to the bad weather.

Booked a table for 5 on Saturday for Sunday lunch. Arrived and the highchair we had requested wasn't set up, but to be fair to the staff was corrected and set up swiftly, with no issues. Staff were good and generally attentive, however there did seem to be a shortage of bodies available to help. The food generally was just about a three, good volume however little taste. We probably will not return, which is a shame as the pub itself felt welcoming.

We stayed here for one night last week, and it was fabulous! We stayed above the pub, and the room was lovely. It felt like such a special treat! The bed was comfortable, though the pillows could do with improvement comfort wise. The bathroom was lovely with fantastic toiletries. It had all the little extras you'd expect plus a great view. Also, the first hotel I've stayed in, which had straightners in the room as well as a hairdryer! The staff were all fantastic and very helpful, we found a half empty beer bottle in our mini bar, and they sorted it out quickly! My partner proposed to me here, so it will definitely always be a special place to us, and we will be back! Hopefully, next time, we'll have time to dine in the pub as the menu looked great and the pub was lovely!

The Bell exceeded expectations. We booked here for an early dinner on a Saturday and we were incredibly pleased with the service we received. We had booked because we knew we would have 2 dogs and would need a high chair for a toddler. They placed us in a great space with plenty of room and looked after us very well. The food was also very tasty and reasonably priced given the portion size. Very pleased with everything and well worth trying if you are in the area.

The whole family had our New Year Eve dinner here. The portion of the dishes was generous and very nice. It was busy with only 3 people serving, so getting the waiters/waitress attention was difficult.

met friends here as its an ideal half way place to meet. One had teh dea bass - nicely presented and well cooked - and three of us had the fish and chips - among the best I've everr tasted. Soft flaky fish, cruchy batter and crisp delicious chips served with a smile. I had no roome for pudding but everyone else managed the excellent crumble and ice cream, and not a crumb left! Highy recommended.

Love this pub, fantastic atmosphere, good prices and a fantastic Sunday lunch. Lots of characters is this pub and it is a must do if your in the area. Moving to the village soon and looking forward to becoming a regular.

We have recentlymoved to Saham Toney, so as family were visiting booked in for Sunday Carvery. Very accommodating for a vegan family member, who had a lovely nut roast. Food was delicious and plentiful, and gorgeous selection of deserts. Roaring fires in he pub, gave a homely feel and wonderful ambience. All the staff were lovely and attentive, feel so lucky to have a lovely local pub on our doorstep.

Called here for Sunday lunch. Had the roast pork. It was very good, big servings. Would recommend booking in advance, we saw several walk-ins turned away.

The team were fantastic from start to finish. Our party of 12 adults and 5 children under 8 were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble and the birthday celebrations were enjoyed by all. Will be back!

Excellent Sunday roast I had pork with scrumptious crackling and my partner had beef, along with a decent ale and a cider I would recommend it to anyone with a large appetite

Had dinner here while visiting Stow. The melted Camembert was brilliant as were the fish and chips. They also have an excellent selection of ales on offer. The location is great as it is near the edge of town and they have a large outdoor space that is great for relaxing after a day of exploring. We didn’t stay at the pub, but met some people who were and they said the accommodations were great. Highly recommend stopping by!

Shared a ploughman's lunch with my wife and had a pint of ale to wash it down. Absolutely lovely, and because it's on the edge of town It didn't get busy as early. Lovely pub, amazing grub!

The pub and food was lovely, until we paid the bill, they added £13 onto our bill for a tip, we would have willingly given a tip, but I think it’s totally wrong that they did this. What if customers didn’t have an extra £13 to give. We certainly won’t be going back there.😡

Chicken Kiev was exquisite, passion fruit cheese cake was amazing. It was that good we ate the same thing 2 days in a row. I love that there is a separate section to eat away from dogs too.

We are staying locally and popped in for lunch. Warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. Sadly not many customers.. One or two lcals at the bar but nobody else eating. A sign of the times I suppose. I had Beef chilli which was very nice although I could have done with a larger portion of chilli. Followed be bread and butter pudding which was light and delicious, plenty of dried fruit. My wife had Beef and ale pie followed by chocolate fudge cake which she vey much enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable but I would have prefered to pay a bit more for a lorger portion of chilli. The service was very good as was the choice of real ale I understand the pub gets a lot busier in the evening and weekends and have regular life music. Worth a visit dog friendly and welcoming log fires.

Nice pub good service shame about the food. Poor quality overcooked food. Really disappointed with the menu and the food wasn't nice at all... even the chips were horrible. Will not be returning.

We called to book a table to be asked could we arrive at 6 45 as they were fully booked from 7. We hurried to get there on time to find a couple of people sat outside and the bar and restaurant completely empty. We had a choice of where we sat and other than a couple of other people coming in to eat i n the bar the restaurant remained empty the whole time. the menu was disappointing and more suited to lunch than dinner on a Friday night. There were paninis and jacket potatoes but nothing that I would call a nice meal for dinner. I opted for Pizza as there was literally nothing else on the menu that I could choose. My husband opted for scampi. This was very small pieces of overcooked scampi served with overcooked chips. My portion of chips was overcooked as well. We will not be returning.

We rang to book and was told to come at 6 45 as it was fully booked from 7 Arrived at 6 45 to find a couple of people outside but not one person in the bar or restaurant. Only a couple of people came in at 7 so how they could be fully booked is a mystery. Was given the menu which was very limited and more suited to a lunchtime rather than a Friday evening. No steak available but jacket potatoes and paninis which I would expect to find on a cafe lunch menu. Was left no option than to order pizza which was nice and well cooked but not what I was wanting to eat. Didn’t bother to stay for dessert. The staff were friendly and service was good. Shame about the menu

We called in this pud in watton has we were visiting for the week and was recommended to this place With it been a Sunday they were only doing cavery which we didn't have a problem with You filled in a form with your name on it and the waitress took it and brought your meal back The cavery was £8.50 ok not bad for Sunday lunch with choice of beef pork sausage and vegan we had the beef with roast potatoes cabbage carrots and more The dinner was cold it was just slapped on the plate and it wasn't very nice it was something that you would get in a market cafe and was worth about £4.50 which is what is was only worth instead of the £8.50 Would we visit it again NO and I certainly wouldn't recommend it

This was very near to our holiday apartment for the week so decided to have dinner here one night. There is a large marquee on part of the car park to make the most of current guidelines. The remainder of the parking was full so we had to park on the street. We were sat in the marquee and waited a little time for someone to come and serve us. Food was lovely, we had mains and desserts and the prices were very reasonable. Friendly servers.

Ordered fish & chips takeaway and it was the best fish & chips we eaten for a long time. Great taste, lovely fish and top chips. Will 100% order again and like to try other items. On top of the great food the service from ordering to delivery was fantastic also.

Service is absolutely incredible, they go above and beyond and are very friendly. Food is absolutely delicious always find it very difficult to decide what to have. They have done really well keeping open and keeping to social distancing rules. Highly recommend coming for lunch or dinner.

Visited here while in the area. Lovely friendly staff. Very Covid friendly we had drinks on one day and decided to go for a meal. All Very good and reasonably priced.

We found the staff to be very welcoming and providing good COVID-19 protection. There is lots of outdoor seating, some with weather protection and non-smoking options. Lots of hand sanitizer, one way systems, table service and super clean toilets. It was busy,with many reserved tables too, so booking maybe required. We enjoyed a delicious homemade Woodfire pizza and homemade fish and chips. Both were very filling and tasty, definitely good value for money. Their homemade white chocolate cheesecake is so light, yet so delicious-a must try.

As regulars we thought we would try the new curry menu. Sadly the pub is currently closed due to COVID-19 but they are offering the new curry menu on Thursday and Friday evenings for collection. We couldn't decide what dishes to order so ended up trying most items off the menu and wasnt disappointed. Excellent food that was still piping hot after our short walk home. The woodfired pizzas on Saturday and Sunday evenings are well worth a try too.

During the lockdown period , the owners of The Bell have developed a take away procedure complying with the social distancing that we all have to adhere to during this difficult time . Last night I purchased a take away curry meal . It was so authentic and lovely that I felt the need to make others aware. The curries are only available on Thursday and Friday evenings , book early to avoid disappointment , visit the website of the pub for full menu details. You will not be disappointed, 😊

Tried this pub with friends for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely food, good variety to choose from, including plenty of vegetarian dishes. Decent range of beers too. Would highly recommend.

The food here is superb with everything cooked to perfection and not over cooked at all The meat (4 choices ) had a lovlely flavour and came with a home cooked Yorkshire pudding

Pleasant place and barman. Lovely real ale. I asked for the least hoppy of their offerings, and it was really nice. The sandwiches, however were not great and were a bit pricey for what they were, now that we’ve been in UK some days and had the chance to compare.

Went for a Sunday carvery with family including children/baby. Nice warm atmosphere with real fire, proper English country pub. Lovely great quality drinks at a good price, and good service. Booked for 1:30pm as the carvery finished at 2pm. Was a bit concerned when walked in as appeared just remains of meat and veg, however there was just enough meat and they re-stocked the veg etc. The beef was some of the best I’ve had, perfectly cooked and very tender. The gravy was to die for, and the veg, Yorkshire and stuffing all good. Also had some very nice deserts. Amazing value at £11 for 2 courses! Would definitely recommend, just maybe a bit earlier to ensure get the meat choice you want (Turkey, Beef, Pork or Gammon).

We came across this place by chance on our way through the area. Stopped for a bite of lunch with our dog. The welcome was warm and they didn’t hesitate to do us lunch, despite the fact we arrived 2 minutes before lunch finished!The food was good and very reasonably priced.Would definitely recommend.

I didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, but I stopped by for a pint hoping to chat about the family history I was looking into; many ancestors coming from the village and surrounds.The beer was good but there was barely a glimmer of welcome from the lady behind the bar. No encouragement to converse; and it wasn't busy. She appeared to be having issues with the man of the house, leading to a generally depressed air. I did not longer for a second pint.

We were visiting for the weekend and spend out Satruday night at this local pub. We had a warm welcome by the bar staff and then Amy looked after us in the Resturant. A great selection of Ale's and Gin's at the bar with typical pub grub being served. Reserving a table is recommended. Thanks for looking after us, it was a great evening.

Nice pub restaurant,very friendly and helpful staff ,friendly locals, great fish and chips and other meals nice fresh beers went with friends and what a fantastic evening with the superb tuxedo duo live music,seen them before at venues absolutely rocked the place music for everybody cant wait to go back superb food

We were told we needed to book as a Saturday evening but it wasn’t necessary. The staff are very friendly and food is ok though I was served chips that were so hard I couldn’t eat them. It’s really a locals haunt and extremely loud so it depends on what you want for a meal out.

First visit and we were were welcomed very warmly and seated quickly in the bar area near a roaring log fire on what was a very chilly and windy day.

As a family we went for a meal here, we was very impressed with the gluten free menu,for a country pub the choice was better than some larger places. Plus one in our party although an adult can only eat a child’s size meal again it was not a problem. It is well worth going.

Food was nice but not special - my omelette was very tasty but my husband had the sausage and mash and thought it was very average. Prices were not too bad and the service was ok.

A friend took over a room and the pub did an excellent buffet, hot and cold food and lots of it!! Very friendly staff and pub very busy with local folk.

What a fantastic day out we had . Good beer, great atmosphere and live music in the car park. BBQ was excellent and the hosts were happy to have us all there and were great. Will definitely go again.

Its our local but we can highly recommend the Pizza. Only available in the summer, made in a traditional wood oven the landlord built. Italian style base with a choice of four toppings cooked to order by the landlord.

Went to this country pub Easter Sunday for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. Alas no food served today but the option to order a takeaway delivered to the pub was taken up. Very good it was too! Nice Woodfoode beer and Bulldog gin with tonic. Happy for the dog to sit with us too. Nice atmosphere and lovely decor

A nice little village pub. Great atmosphere, good beer and good staff. The Guinness was excellent and cheap. We had a meal and all was good. Except for a few minor niggles. My portion was small, all the others were good. And the mash was very lumpy and salty. The Guinness pie was really nice but a very small piece. Saying that, I would go again.

This review is a whisker off a 1* rating, but was saved by the fact that my partners hunters chicken was edible.

My wife and I were staying at Richmond Park. We visited The Old Bell on a bitterly cold Tuesday evening. We were amidst the darts teams, but had a really good meal in a warm and friendly environment.

Went for a nice sunny Saturday drive. This place was clean, friendly and the food was good. Decent parking outside. Overall worth going out to.

Booked in December 17 for our club annual lunch which we had on 5 January 2018. We had an extensive menu to choose from so we pre ordered the meals. We were very well looked after and the price of the meals were very reasonable. The meals were well cooked and served piping hot. I would recommend a visit particularly if you want a good meal at reasonable prices.

My favorite pub in the area. Very friendly people and well looked after real ales. Real wood fired pizza oven in operation Fridays to Sunday.

We had a lovely meal here with the parents, it was a shame that the electrics were on and off and we had to move tables. This did mean that service was interrupted, however the food was very good regardless.

Had eaten here in July 2017 and had a Steak meal which was fantastic and good value for money, so good that we, a party of 4 booked for the following Sunday Carvery, we were not disappointed, the Carvery was Excellent, so much so that we shall return during August and have no hesitation to spend our money at the Bell Saham Toney, keep up the good work, you deserve to be busy.

En el día de nuestra visita el pub estaba muy lleno, pero nos sirve de bien con la comida que era excelente en todos los aspectos. El Old Bell tiene varios días de especialidad durante la semana y le va a aquellos oportunamente

Teníamos que estar en la zona de negocios y cayó en el Old Bell para el almuerzo. Me sorprendió ver cómo muchas personas estaban en el pub y estar afuera en el sol glorioso. Pedimos uno de los especiales del día, casera de hongos, puerro y queso con patatas quiche y ensalada por 7 libras. 95 y fue muy agradable. El pub es sólo pequeño con un área más grande de comer en el lado, pero nos las arreglamos para encontrar una mesa en la zona de bar para comer. Yo tenía un vino blanco spritzer, que me pareció caro en 5 libras. 60 pero aparte de eso, ambos disfrutamos todo acerca de nuestra visita.

Todos tuvimos una comida magnífica y budín de aquí, el personal también era muy servicial. Volveremos el próximo año.

Had been to view a property is this small village and decided we could do with lunch. Found this deightful little pub which did superb fish and chips! Also some nice real ale so it was a good find.Even though it was a Saturday there were very few people there but we found the proprietors very obliging.

Cosy pub, friendly staff, food was ok although we only had a snack, but other diners food did look good.

On a damp, chilly evening we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into a typical country pub that had a wood burner glowing and warming the room. We were greeted by an equally warm host. We selected a table and asked for a menu. Unfortunately they did not have the rib eye steak we were after so we settled on the home made steak and ale pie. We were not disappointed, lovely big chunks of succulent beef and thick rich gravy. The vegetables were disappointing however, the cabbage was underdone, the carrots well done and I don't like peas! Nonetheless it was very enjoyable and I would still like to try their rib eye, so we will have to go again. By the time we left, the pub was very busy with locals who obviously knew each other. It was a treat not to have piped music, television or gaming machines.

Having spent a week away visiting the Norfolk area , we found this lovely local. Pleasant staff and friendly atmosphere.. the pub food was of a very good standard and we enjoyed visiting the establishment more than once during our break taking advantage of the special offers each time.Value for money was remarkable and if others grumble about it, neither my wife or I can really understand why ! All our food was piping hot and more than sufficient to fill a good appetite. Would certainly recommend to others .

Stopped here on Monday Night for a quick drink, and saw a great offer for 2 Pies for £10, 2 Great tasting homemade pies with homemade chips, a Great pint and a very good juke box. They also have live entertainment on which i saw advertised.

Nice Village pub. The Lunch time menu was the usual fare and good value with 2 courses for £10. Service was rather slow with one person trying to cope with the bar and Restaurant orders. Food was OK and in keeping with the price paid.

We recently visited Norfolk and twice went to The Old Bell with our dog! Good home cooked food, friendly & welcoming to out of towners and their pets. Thanku. Highly recommend if you like a traditional local Norfolk pub/food.

Visited as a group. We enjoyed the lunch in front of a roaring fire. The service was good and overall we enjoyed our visit.
