The Bell Inn offers everything you’d expect from a “quality” pub. Simon manages a professional and friendly team (Sue, Beth, Anabel and others) who offer a friendly welcome every time you walk in. The seasonal menu provides a wide range of home cooked food to tantalise your taste buds! There is even a dedicated chiller cabinet for your lager glasses so you can be assured of a cold pint. A must on a hot day! All in all The Bell Inn ticks all the right boxes. Enjoy your visit!

I visited the frozen mop with my family, 4 adults and 2 children. Lovely day so we sat outside Ordered all the meals , had to repeat the order several times , the two gentleman seemed confused After 30 minutes we asked where the food was , to be told it was been prepped. 10 minutes later it arrived and two meals were missing. The gentleman told me I hadn’t ordered the two missing meals , 100% I did as I had to repeat it twice . One of the meals missing was the little one , so we ended up splitting up the meals as she was hungry. 30-40 minutes later the meal arrived for my daughter. No apologies We then quizzed the bill . This took another 20 minutes Not once did the manager say they were sorry , missing meals , overcharged. Totally shocking It then took a phone call and an email to have the money sorted I have almost 800 reviews and I have never been made to feel in the way the manager did Not once an apology for the shocking service 100% I do not recommend and I Will not return Such a shame as I’m local

I visited this venue recently and left feeling disappointed. While most of the drinks were priced within a typical range, I was shocked to be charged £11 for a single glass of Prosecco- a price that felt completely unjustified given the overall setting and service. When I politely questioned the price and asked to see a drinks menu, I was met with the dismissive response, “We are the drinks menu.” This lack of transparency is concerning, especially when charging premium prices. A simple drinks list—printed or digital—should be available to customers. The overall experience didn’t match the pricing. Staff lacked polish, character, and basic hospitality etiquette. If a venue is going to charge top-shelf prices, it should offer a setting and service to match—which this did not. The entrance was particularly unwelcoming, with bouncers dressed in plain black making the atmosphere feel more intimidating than upscale. One of them even made my wife feel uncomfortable with inappropriate glances and comments in another language. After that, we chose to move on to The Salthouse Hotel next door, where we received a much better experience. There, I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz a proper cocktail, and one that’s typically around £11—served with genuine hospitality in a far more refined environment. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning or recommending this venue. ---

My friend and I went to the Wharf, for lunch yesterday. It was a terrible experience. We ordered fish and chips, and steak and chips. The steak arrived first, and sat on the counter by the till as both waiters struggled to identify who the dish should go to. To put this into context, there were three occupied tables, including us. When they worked out it was for my friend it was brought over. We queried if it was still hot, the waiter responded with annoyance saying that of course it was. We countered saying we had watched it sit on the side. He said, ‘yeah, for less than a minute’. On we ploughed. We said ‘well, we’ve looking at it for 5 minutes, on the counter over there’. His response? ‘No you haven’t’. I then asked him to not argue with me. His response? ‘I’m not arguing’. Oh the irony. My friend asked for it to be taken back, and he grudgingly agreed. The same bit of meat returned 5 minutes later, and the only change was it was 5 minutes colder. She asked for another steak freshly cooked. My meal then arrived, which I ate alone. My friend’s meal arrived 15 minutes later, and it was finally hot and she ate it. However, she has texted me this morning that she started vomiting overnight. Presumably due to the meal, as she started feeling unwell once she was home and didn’t eat dinner. Have I mentioned the surly waitress who ignored me, then rolled her eyes repeatedly when I asked for condiments? Yeah, not a winning team. I suggest you don’t go there when there are loads of other options along the South Bank.

This is my second stay at the Hotel du Vin in the last fortnight. The food in the Bistro has been consistently excellent both at breakfast and dinner. Equally so is the restaurant service which is attentive , caring and welcoming from all the staff. One member who really stands out is Alina who delivers superb customer service. Lovely very comfortable boutique hotel .

Delicious food. Visited twice within 3 days. Would highly recommend the pancakes or waffles. Good service. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only thing is I wish they were open longer and earlier as you could definitely go for an early breakfast or a late night treat.

Vinimos para el asado del domingo y la comida era deliciosa. También pedimos 2 martinis de fruta de la pasión que también eran geniales. Qemal nos cuidó y se aseguró de que teníamos todo lo necesario de una manera atenta y amable. Definitivamente volveremos a visitar pronto!
